A very good meeting point with an extensive garden. Great range of beers and engaging staff. Well recommended.

Absolutely no-nonsense proper traditional pub with a good local following and great atmosphere. We stopped by on the way back from Clarksons pub and to be quite honest apart from the ’celebriry’ aspect that’s just a jumped-up mass catering venue whereas the Lamb & Flag is what a pub should REALLY be!!!

Well, where do I start? It's Thursday night at 8.30pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We had to ask the guy to play music. We ordered egg fried rice and special fried rice which was just boiled rice with a bit mixed in. The meat in the main dishes were tough. The prawn was so tough my mum choked on it. The banana fritter was good but it was the only thing that was. Went to use toilet, one smell, I crossed my legs and left. We will NEVER go there again!!!

Let's talk about TEA. So much effort surrounds the making and serving of all types of coffee on offer, yet your tea is utterly abysmal. It was the worst tasting tea I've ever had. It is obviously a budget supply, tasting bitter, unpalatable and offensive. Not at all worthy of the ridiculous price you charge for it. Add to this that all staff have to do, is pour hot water onto a teabag, or, dump a teabag into said hot water, et voila. Once you remove your teabag at the table, with nowhere to dispense with it but to lay it onto the table making a mess, after adding a small amount of milk, you are then left with a good 2 inch gap at the top, resulting in receiving a partial cup of a hot liquid which I challenge is drinkable tea. I politely asked a young server to add more hot water to my cup (it was far lower down the cup than my partner's Latte). I'm deaf and lipread, so imagine my surprise to see her moaning to her young colleague at the audacity of a customer requesting a fuller cup of something not really resembling tea. She saw me look at her and immediately stopped her conversation with said colleague. Then, there being no paper napkins available on the customer side of the counter, I requested this from a staff member. You would have thought I'd asked her for the world when she reached down under the counter to place 2 on top of the servery area for me. Caffè Nero - get your act together. If you have the audacity to charge such a ridiculous amount for hot water and a far below par teabag, please fill the cup and offer napkins. I strongly suggest you are either not selling enough tea and your supply was 'off' or out of date, OR, get a different tea supplier. The worst hot drink (I struggle to call it "tea") I've ever tasted. Not everyone drinks coffee!

To be honest and Indian takeaway is always a bit hit and miss, but credit to Five ways for getting it spot on! Chicken Madras was full of flavour and not overpowering with heat. Arrived quickly and large portions all for a very reasonable price. Well done 👍

If you want an insipid hot chocolate, tepid temperature and served in a run down building; well here’s the place to visit! Furniture needed replacing/repairing, unfortunately no ambiance at all. On the bright side the staff were very pleasant and hospitable.

Food was extremely poor quality. The garlic bread has huge chunks of garlic on it and covered in oil. Completely inedible when I asked for a refund I was told I should have known it was confit garlic though there was no mention of it on the menu. The burger was good but the bun was completely soggy. Disappointing considering we waited 50 minutes for it. We both left feeling disappointed and ill.
