Caffe Nero in West Oxfordshire

This is an excellent place to go, the staff, especially Linda, are so welcoming, courteous, and very good at their job. Nothing is too much trouble. They work really hard. HOWEVER, one person who has very short blond hair whose name begins with an H can be very unfriendly to the point of being rude. It's not very nice to experience. Such a shame ☹️

People friendly, dog friendly, friendly staff, great coffee, I love coming here. It's difficult to explain why it makes me happy but it does.

Cannot fault this place. Go hiking every Sunday and try to find a local cafe after in the many towns/villages we visit. Recently they have been poor and not much open in Chipping Norton so chose Cafe Nero. Cake choice was excellent along with a sausage roll and two hot drinks. All very tasty and served by friendly staff. Multiple modern seating options including a few seats out in the sun. Very comfortable and a nice atmosphere

Cafe Nero offers fairly standard chain coffee at prices you would expect. The service is friendly if a little disengaged but that. Igbo just by the Chipping Norton effect. Inside the ambience is nice with lots of comfortable seats and it’s a warm pleasant place to spend half an hour. The wifi is truly awful, firstly there is an over long and complicated logging in requirement via Sky ( please just get your own Wifi and show the password - it’s really simple!) and then it keeps dropping out. Would be an impossible nightmare to work here.

Nice coffee don't clean the toilets. Also some lights hang quite low and you bang your head on them. Phone signal and Wi-Fi bad in back and the number of singular laptop users taking up tables for four in the middle is outrageous. But nice coffee.

This user to be a friendly and welcoming coffee house. Throughout Lockdown they stayed open and provided a fantastic service Sadly, that's all gone. The current staff can be sour and unfriendly, unsmiling and some seem resentful. It's a shame. The coffee is fine. The staff need retraining in customer sparkle!

I have been coming here for years. Great coffee & staff. The atmosphere is nice. However, it is frequently spoiled by the amount of people who think it's ok to bring their dogs into a food shop. Some even let the dogs sit on the chairs! They make a racket snapping at other dogs and often smell that vile wet dog smell. Coffee shops should be relaxing places for humans, not drying rooms for dogs!

Looking for a place to have a coffee and cake whilst escaping from the rain with 2 dogs in tow !!! They were happy to allow us in with the dogs and didn't have to sit at an outside table thankfully! Staff were polite and coffee was nice.

Clean and tidy with good service and nice coffee, staff and customer adhering to the current Covid regulations.

2pm and the only lunch food available was 2 packs of sandwiches and 3 paninis. Tables not wiped or sanitized in between customers. I visited the toilet directly after a member of staff had cleaned it and signed the cleaning chart on the wall, and it was filthy. The loo seat had brown marks on, which I cleaned off with my own sanitizer, the basin was dirty and the drip tray under the hand dryer was hadn’t been cleaned for a while. If this was the new Covid routine, it was very disappointing and reminded me why I avoided big independent chains.

We visited cafe Nero in Chipping Norton today Thursday 30th July 2020, at around 11.45 am. The table we sat at had not been wiped and the previous customers dirty cup was still on the table, I had to sanitize and wipe it myself. After drinking coffee I visited the toilet at around 12 midday, it was filthy! The floor, toilet, bin and toilet door were visibly dirty! I read the cleaning rota on the door, the last checking of the toilet recorded was at 7 am, before the cafe had opened, nothing had been recorded since then! Other than hand sanitizer at the door, there appeared to be no effort to keep customers COVID-19 safe. I would not recommend visiting this cafe at the present time.

This place used to be nice and quiet. Apparently, either they have changed the staff or they have changed their behaviour immensely. The staff goes with their noisy children, and makes the stay unpleasant. The staff is really busy gossiping loudly while customers wait for them to finish and attend them. Toilet incredibly dirty, place dirty and untidy even when the place is almost empty.Bad idea.

Nice cafe but needs a good clean on the tables, dried up sugar, mugs left out. Quite minging really ...

Although the interior could do with an update, the coffee is always good (and hot) and the service always friendly.

Visited here on a cold afternoon to try their festive range. We were welcomed by lots of staff behind the counter gossiping which made me feel uneasy and the place looked so untidy , lots of dirty tables even though the place was not busy. I had to clear my own table , I handed the waitress my tray and didnt get a thank you , just a dirty look! The toilets were yak!! Need a deep clean desperately. The drinks were nice, let down was lack of basic customer service, and how dirty the place was.

Recent visit to this cafe. One entry it was a cold wet day so to find aircon on full whack inside not ideal Only 1 member of staff working so long queues and a flustered staff member Tables also not cleaned WiFi very poor

First time here and bit of a let down. Plenty of room inside but oh dear it needed a clean. The sofas at the back were filthy! Coffee ok but not special enough to go back

Dirty tables, scruffy seating and no soap in both the ladies and gents toilets. The coffee was OK ish and we didn’t eat. We would have thought that they would have tidied this place up after the recent watchdog article but obviously not

Visited a few times and had not been at all clean, around the counter, floors, toilets, display areas. I'm surprised

Slow service, burnt coffee and the back area smells badly of drains. Not impressed today. Toastie was nice but there it ended!

Great coffee and snacks. Plenty of seating and tables. Newspapers, magazines. A nice place to meet up with friends.

We visited Cafe Nero today and enjoyed a good quality coffee served by a very pleasant member of staff. Sadly the cleanliness of the cafe wasn’t good; with filthy floors and a toilet in much need of a clean throughout this put us off returning.

This Cafe Nero had a rustic feel without the sawdust!. Great little corners and old ish lounge chairs to create atmosphere..and the coffee as you would expect at Neros' was very good.

Came in while my car went in for an MOT to kill time. I ordered my usual caramel latte which is normally good not great but this one was poor. As a qualified barista the coffee was bitter and lacked any flavour whatsoever! Seemed like a new member of staff making my drink, as she was being instructed to re-steam milk left in a steam jug and to just ‘top it up’ with more cold milk before steaming it again!?! I ended up with a very milky latte with very little coffee In it which was far too hot which meant the milk was also burnt. I ended up leaving it behind and purchasing a coffee elsewhere. For £3.45 for a coffee I would expect it to be both flavoursome and drinkable at least!

Coffee tolerable. Sandwiches and wraps appear mass produced. Service prompt and polite. The decor appears rather down at heel.

I am always amazed at how busy Caffè Nero is given the fact you have to queue for ages. Other much nicer cafes in town offer table service or in the case of Jaffé & Neale much quicker service.

Its fine, its another Cafe Nero, the same as all the others....did we need another coffee shop in Chipping Norton? Its normally quite difficult to get a seat

this is a great place to stop and catch your breath... lovely interior and fabulous coffee as well as many other drinks and food on offer .

After waiting in a queue for what seemed an eternity we were finally served. Having got our drinks and settled down we were approached by a member of staff who told us dogs are not allowed. A very unpleasant experience especially as we hadn't had time to touch our drinks before they told us this. We turned left from the exit and walked down to a pub about two minutes away instead so, if you have dog, go to the Fox pub, they sell tea, coffee and are very dog friendly, with water bowls, dog biscuits available and an open fire.

The usual teas, coffees and toasties, All lovingly prepared and reheated by hand. Whilst I don't mind a wait - normally - there's no waitress service here so you have to wait in line... for what seems an eternity. I've walked out more times than I've actually sat down and eaten here. If there's no queue the fare is pleasant enough but for the prices charged I'd expect table service.

Would give zero stars if possible.

Always busy but service usually good. Much better than the average chain coffee shop. Coffee is excellant and the staff are friendly. Worth a visit

OK, so there are umpteen Caffe Neros all over the UK but this one was extremely pleasing. The staff were really friendly, the coffee delicious, the seating cosy and the loos clean. Added to which the free wi-fi was an added bonus. You know what you get when you go to a Caffe Nero and it is nice not to be disappointed

Local coffee house where it's always good to meet up with friends & offers free wi-fi which is a bonus if you need it! Great coffee, nice atmosphere & nice decor which reflects the town it's in :)

A very chilled out place to have a drink and maybe do some work. The drinks are good and the service is normally fairly quick too.

Having just walked out of Nash's due to poor service it was nice to find staff with a positive attitude.

Nice staff, better inside than most neros, but sadly just another chain coffee shop diluting the individuality of every high street. Absolutely fine.

The slightly cut above aspect to this cafe nero is the relaxed layout which is good to relax in and better than some standard fare cafes. The coffee fine the pastries mostly the same as others very average

Early morning passing through Chipping Norton, I spotted this Caffe Nero right in the center. Strong good coffee, friendly quick service in a really inviting looking coffee shop.

Ideal coffee shop for coffe and other drinks and snacks. Comfortable chairs ranging from sofas to benches. Friendly staff. Good food and drinks. My Chipping Norton "office"! Other people seem to have the same idea. You don't feel rushed here.

Recommended. Friendly fast service and a relaxed ambience. Usual range of Nero pastries and snacks. Very spacious and quiet too !

Must say I've been coming into here for the last few months a hour before they shut once a week whilst waiting for my daughter at the local youth theatre.

Well done another brilliant Nero Coffee Shop. As always the coffee was great tasting as we liked and good strength. The Nero team were brilliant helpful and friendly. The coffee lounge was first class well designed with a great layout. The lounge was also really clean tidy and welcoming. One of the best Nero lounges we have visited. Well done keep it up

Great place to hang out with very comfortable leather chairs, fireplace, books and fantastic coffee; even my decaf flat white which some people don't think is real coffee was excellent. Staff friendly and a relaxed atmosphere

As always with Cafe Nero you get good coffee and nice selection of nibbles. The staff are very efficient and manage to keep smiling while serve up the various beverages.

OK, I realise this is your average national coffee shop chain so we weren't expecting five-star service but, even on that basis we were disappointed.

I wouldn't normally bother with a review of a Caffe Nero, but this one is a real find. Food and drinks will be to the standard you expect from this chain, but the service is particularly good - they do care here - and the whole environment is interesting and exceptionally relaxing. Tables are set well apart, with a choice of comfortable seating, and books and newspapers are provided. Give it a try - you will want to come back!

I dont normally review a chain because they seem to be always the same. This is nearly the same but it is worth mentioning it has a varied and interesting seating layout with space suiting most people, I imagine!

On the main high street with free off road parking is Café Nero. Although the café is part of a national chain it has a nice cosy feeling inside with plenty of arm chairs to sit in. We opted for coffee and cake which was fine.
