Food was bland and disappointing, though it looks like they are trying to make up for it with quantity. Seems the chef doesn't want to be there.
If you order sausage roll with fries, it will cost you £9. If you order it separately, it will be £7. That is, unless they give part of your order to someone else and then tell you they don't have any more, even though you already paid and been waiting for 10 minutes for the food.

There is a shop & a cafe here, both super friendly and it overlooks the railway station so you can see the trains pull in. We turned up literally 5 minutes before the last train was due in & then they close. The cafe staff were clearly cleaning everything and packing up. We asked for 3 takeaway teas and the lady served us, which i was very grateful for as we were cold and a hot drink was very welcome. I also managed to squeeze a quick purchase at the shop as well. We also saw the last train draw up which was good timing on our part. Friendly and really nice people. Thank you.
Cute cafe with great toasties and coffee. Staff really friendly and helpful with a good range of food choices including baked potatoes, toasties and sandwiches. Coffee was a good sized cup with a mellow flavour. Good prices and a great view over the Mermaid Beach.
Been using for 6 yrs or more Now gone down hill recently. Order wrong food given and totally substandard quality not good at all ......avoid at all costs.
Not the best curry you could have ordered lamb curry and it was disappointing and disgusting 🤮 I wouldn’t ever order from here as the food is the worst you can have.
I had ordered 2 burgers.2!!!!!!I received a chicken burger when I order the new Angus Caesar 😂How hard it can be to actually "put the fries in the bag"?Mistakes over mistakes. In my last 10 orders,4 were bad.Never again in this country I will have BK
Last week we had a jumbo cod and chips and boy it was devious.. Crispy yet fluffy homemade chips and huge pieces of super fresh cod in feather-light batter.
Today we weren’t hugely hungry so had the light lunch fresh fish and chips .. equally delicious for all the same reasons as above.
Lovely friendly barman and good range of well kept beers.
Two minutes further into Dungeness and light years away from the overpriced and under delivering Pilot Inn!

Only eaten here at yummy's once in last 4 years as the food became disappointing. However I'm glad to report things have improved and the whole family enjoyed our meal tonight. Each dish was acceptable though the chow mein could do with a hint of green (spring onion perhaps). The chops in honey actually tasted of honey, neither too sweet nor odd. The prawn toast was hot and crispy. The whole meal wasn't overwhelmed with msg nor that metallic flavour you get with beef Cantonese style! And the chicken and cashew nuts was damm near good. Thank god the old yummys is back.
Manic Mike Entertainment was booked by John Norwood on behalf of The Fountain Inn two months ago and was left a voicemail of cancellation 3 days before the gig this Saturday 10th May 2025. I had a group of ladies who hired a mini bus to come down to the event and have had no reponse from the venue, despite sending two emails no payment has been made. The excuse was it was to be cancelled because they were now doing food! and I looked on their Facebook and they booked a Michael Buble singer at the same time as cancelling us.
We had promoted the event for the venue and had heard nothing.
I will update Tripadvisor on the outcome, which I am looking for an amiable resolution.
