Yummy Chinese Takeaway in Shepway

Only eaten here at yummy's once in last 4 years as the food became disappointing. However I'm glad to report things have improved and the whole family enjoyed our meal tonight. Each dish was acceptable though the chow mein could do with a hint of green (spring onion perhaps). The chops in honey actually tasted of honey, neither too sweet nor odd. The prawn toast was hot and crispy. The whole meal wasn't overwhelmed with msg nor that metallic flavour you get with beef Cantonese style! And the chicken and cashew nuts was damm near good. Thank god the old yummys is back.

Amazing food, so clean and full of delicious flavours, I recommend everyone who buys Chinese takeaways to buy from this one, this is officially the go to and my favourite takeaway service, their food is so good and the staff and the lady that came to the door is so kind and polite. Definitely will always order from here, thank youuu 🩷

Just called to place an order for delivery like we do almost every weekend and the man I spoke to on the phone was so rude, I gave him my address and he huffed at me and said ‘oh my god’ I asked him why he is huffing and what the issue is and he told me they are just too busy today for another order.. absolutely disgusting attitude and customer service, they have now lost a customer as we will not be ordering from there again!!

Foods on and off. Lately we've had no issues Hot food. Quick service. Reasonably priced.

BE AWARE: This is not Yummys. This has been rebranded as Dragon Inn. And the food is 5X better than Yummys. Yummys was awful, this is delicious. My meals- BBQ Sauce, Curry Sauce, Salt and Chilli Chicken, Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce, Chips. Magnificent food. I can't speak for other items on the menus though. I did try the Cantonese Chow Mein. This is not good at all. To be honest, China Inn on Tontine Street does the best Cantonese Noodles. This dish is supposed to be with thin noodles, not usual chow mein noodles - with small and thinly cut vegetables, smothered in a juicy sauce (usually soy sauce based) with whichever meat of preference on top (usually chicken). I do not recommend the Cantonese Chow Mein from this takeaway restaurant, unless they make this better and more.authentic. However, the other items I listed above are amazing. It does not disappoint,.all with a very friendly delivery women as well. I hope this newly established restaurant keeps up with the consistency. China Inn was by far the best takeaway restaurant in town, when they first opened. They have slipped in the recent couple of months. Dragon Inn is now the best I would say, but will they maintain this? I also have not tried everything on the menu but everything I have tried here and in previous orders has been amazing. The pork is however very tough. The beef is too tender, almost to the point where it seems unnatural. The chicken pieces are large and the right consistency/texture. The BBQ sauce is great. The curry sauce is average. The pancake rolls are delicious. The Chow Mein could be better. The 'Chips' are by far the best of all takeaway Chinese places. They are french fries and taste more homemade fries. They don't disappoint! The Salt & Chilli Chips are even better, but are too expensive for what you get. The chips are £2.50 but the others are £4.30. Not worth the extra cost, in my opinion. The general price of all items could be better. A higher cost usually means a premier food. I wouldn't say the quality is "premium" but it is certainly up there. Why not make all the food 5 stars and justify charging extra? Be the best you can otherwise what is the point?

Me and my friend went 30 min. by foot, because we saw they served bubble tea. When we got there they just had some liquid in a can called "bubble tea". We didn't give up on our side quest and bought it in hope it will taste good. It didn't. We were really disappointed in the taste of it. The milk tea was extremely sweet and it looked like dirty water, and I'm not even talking about the bobas. It was really discounting, and me and my friend were left just with disappointment and a tummy ache.

Be ware this place now has two names we placed an order over the phone not done via just eat etc I was paying in cash I’m just down the road when it arrived the price was different to what I made it we had new menu they had added £3 delivery charge !! No where in the menue does it state about delivery charge the boy didn’t have any other change as I refused to pay it so had to pay I phoned them up but they got very shouty offered me £1 back I refused they then offered me a can of drink !! I said I didn’t want that be warned as it seems they are charging £3 extra per order !!

Awful.. Phoned order through..still waiting after 1hour 40mins..gave them a call..hadn't even started..said they hadn't received order..no apology at all..never again

Says it open Tuesday just ordered over 40 pounds worth of food on the yummys app it confirmed my order and gave me a time of 7.30pm and at 9pm I drive up there after not receiving food to find out there shut without warning no way of canceling my order or doing a refund?

This take away took my money yesterday for my order which didn’t arrive, when we called they said they would do it tomorrow, ie today! No food, they won’t answer their phone now either! What a con

Terrible place. Ordered on their website and arranged to pick up, sadly when I got there a sign in the shop said they only take cash which was never mentioned once online. Served by very young kids (who were polite) whilst the adult was shouting things from the back kitchen. Place was looking messy with a ladder in the corner. Been ordering here for over 20 years but I am done with this shop now.

Have had a couple of good meals and was impressed but tonight it’s so different really greasy no real flavour won’t be ordering again very disappointed,must be bad as husband didn’t eat his and that never happens

Ordered from here via Just Eat, the food arrived hot and within the specified time. When it was delivered I was presented with a menu and asked if I could order via their website next time. So next time came and as prompted, I went onto their website…. The opening hours advertised are until 11:30pm but at 10:20pm and part way though placing an order - persistently as the website didn’t work well at all! The site was simply shut off “Temporarily closed” it said. So I phoned up, thinking the site was suffering technical difficulty, to be told they simply shut it off!! Two things…. What about opening until you’re advertised times? And why direct customers to a website which you are going to shut down part way though the order process! I did manage to order over the phone, but now I can’t pay by card… frustrating, there is no record of my order if anything is wrong. If anything I now wish I’d gone elsewhere instead.

So frustrated about this place, really poor service and food. Never again will we come back! This is fake yummy not the original, we ordered from here for years never had a problem till now. While we complained over the phone the “boss” was shouting and swearing in the back ground while her son?.. was very condescending telling me to have a nice day and he will pass the message on to the boss. They have a lot to learn about running a business and looking after their customers!

Had their food recently, leaving me with food poisoning and severe tummy aches, when I called the owner regarding the manner in which my food was cooked I was shouted at and given abuse. Do not go here if you want a good meal.

DO NOT GO HERE. Raw food, terrible customer service and shoddy management have ruined the reputation of what used to be a top takeaway. We received raw meat and water like sauces that were all cold to the touch, upon our complaints the owner offered us a free meal the next day, that "free meal" however was stone cold and was consisting of the wrong items, it was thrown against our door by a delivery driver who gave us the finger and when I called up to ask about the level of service, I was given condescending backchat and could hear swearing aimed at myself from other workers in the background. STAY AWAY FROM YUMMYS.

My food was bad pancake roll soggy cold falling apart! 3.50 rediculous price! Special chow mein just chicken,egg Foo young small portion concidering I ordered large! I rang them all they said was what do you want me to do! Discusting I'm only on dissability this was a treat

Ordered through Just Eat, delivery time was 80mins which is too long. So I cancelled the order. Restaurant called me to say they'd deliver in 30mins so we kept the order. They called back to say they won't fulfill the order unless I paid in full again. Obviously I didn't do that. Just Eat app said I would only get a 50pence refund as the Restaurant keeps a 99.1% charge. I called the restaurant to ask if they're aware that they keep most of my order money, they said yes. I then asked for this to be refunded and they've said no and that I shouldn't expect free food!! To be very clear, I've paid £54 to this restaurant for this food order and I have received NO FOOD as they well know and I have received NO REFUND as they well know. After speaking on the phone with them several times there was someone yelling at me in the background being very hostile. I'm so disappointed in them.

Terrible food, all dishes lacked flavour and didn't taste at all like they should have done. Shockingly bad to be honest, so disappointing. The most awful chinese takeaway we've had in a long time unfortunately. This isn't average or fine, it's really poor quality chinese food.

Ordered food said it would be hare at 18.50 at 19.50 still nothing called and said cancel it they say waiting on driver to come back this place gone down hill bad and lie she then asked me if I can pick it up tryed to cancel on phone and got told have to cancel via just eat disgusting service we will never use again

Over 2hrs late and still hasn't arrived, Never using again. Was told it was just leaving when I rang, and then told it was just being cooked the 2nd time I called, don't appreciate being lied to about a food update.

I ordered over £50 worth of food when ordering over the phone the lady repeated my order back to me but missed off the thai green curry and chicken chow mein, so I said and the chow mein and Thai green curry and she said yes got that, it will be 40 mins. Anywho, went to collect my order as it's always quicker, had to wait another 20 minutes, which is fine. Apon getting home and unpacking our order I found 3 normal chicken Currys. No Thai green curry and no chow mein. So I phoned them up and they told me they didn't do a Thai green curry and I didn't order a chow mein.. when in fact I know I ordered a chow mein but despite that, I couldn't understand why they didn't tell me they didn't do Thai green curry when I ordered it on the phone? Anywho, I managed to take my order back and get a full refund and take my business somewhere else . Wouldn't recommend.

Food delivered late - the common problem reported by other people. Food was delivered very late, when we rang 30 minutes after due time we were told they were waiting for a driver. When it eventually arrived, obviously been sitting around for a while as it was only warm and had to be reheated. Don't usually use Yummy's and won't be going back anytime soon.

Yummy Chines Takeway food is excellent and very very yummy. Spare Ribs and spare chicken are delicious. Highly recommended. Perfect taste.

Ordered on Just Eat and were told it would take an hour. 2 hours later and 2 phone calls later, it finally arrived - Cold and one of the soups had been crushed so had leaked over the rest. I rang (3rd time for this order if you include chasing the delivery) and was offered a replacement soup or refund for the soup. I suggested that wasn’t good enough given the food was an hour late, cold and sodden, so the very abrupt lady offered to send the driver to collect the delivery, as “if I was asking for a refund, why should I keep the order...!?” We have ordered many times over the years (probably a couple of times a month for the last 6 years), and the food is good. But the deliveries are taking longer and longer and the few times I’ve contacted them with an issue I’m met with the same abrupt attitude. There are lots of other places to order from, so it’s a shame, but that’s it. Not ordering from them again.

Always good food. Try the satay sauce it's unlike any I've had from any Chinese!

We have always had good food from here, but recently the portion sizes have seemed a lot smaller? Also, finding dishes such as curries are being bulked out with a lot more onion and other vegetables and the meat is cut up smaller and much more sparse. The delivery time is always accurate and the staff are always pleasant. Very clean in there too which is a bonus.

We came from liverpool and stayed in the premier inn the day before we travelled on the euro tunnel. We had yummy for our tea and was one of the best chinese take aways we have had really tasty

Ordered food and was told it would be one and a half hours, three hours later still no food and when rang was told they are only just preparing it and it would be another half hour. Will never use them again and would recommend every one else to avoid them

Great food at a reasonable price

Yummy ... is was NOT! , ordered tonight after a period of being out of the area and always really enjoyed their hot and sour soup among other dishes .. really looking forward to it all. However .. hot and sour soup tasted like sweet and sour sauce watered down and very bland . Let's move onto the chicken chop Sui... disgusting , grey , bland and quite frankly the worse I have ever had the misfortune of eating! Special fried rice was absolutely vile! Sweet and sour chicken balls I would struggle giving to my dog without the enormous feeling of guilt! Rang them to try and give some feedback and also to see how they were planning on fixing this , to which I was asked " how do you think it should taste"? LOL lady then asked if I wouldn't mind scraping the remainder of dishes back in to container ... I said of course ! She then delivered the new dishes and said "please can you call me to let me know if it's better " ... I thought it was only fair to give her the honest feed back.. I wanted to put it politely so I just said " I'm afraid it was as unpleasant as the first delivery and that we didn't want the second batch re delivered and simply we would not order from them again with regret. Her response was .... TO HANG UP!!! Enough said I think. Steer clear of you enjoy nice Chinese food! Never again !

You can't beat a Chinese now and again , and I do enjoy a yummy Chinese :)

Ordered at 8:10pm, was told delivery would be 45 minutes to one hour. Rung at 9:30pm to ask where our food was, they said another 15 minutes. Our order hadn't even left the premises. Our previous order was over hour. We will NOT use them again.
