Cheriton Balti And Tandoori Takeaway in Shepway

has to be the worst indian I have had the misfortune of paying for. the food was disgusting. the saag had hardly any spinach in it. the tikka masala had a weird powder taste. the bombay aloo had only four potatoes in it. the chips were soggy and had loads of black burnt bits from the bottom of the fryer. poppadoms didn't arrive so had to phone and wait for them to be delivered. the garlic fried rice was something I can't even describe. avoid this place. shameful.

Food was excellent, could be more tika sauce as I would consider it a little less than normal. But all in all, tasty..

The curry was watery and some bits of chicken was chewy, chips were caked in salt and the bread was the only thing that made up the meal

Food poor and cold, small portions. Main dish (Madras) was missed, after two phone calls (and 1 hour) finally delivered. Blamed on delivery person !!! Appreciate busy time of year but should not accept orders that cannot be fulfilled.

Stale, cold, oily poppadoms. Cold, no flavour Karahi chicken. No flavour chicken Korma x3. Always been good before. Birthday meal £100 won't use again. Disgusting meal.

Slightly late, food was quite cold and chicken had to be warmed back up as it was very cold. Salad was also not fresh, some of the leaves were slimy and not edible.

I have not even received the food yet this is a joke. It’s been over 2 hours it’s now 19;00 and I ordered at 4.30. Absolutely ridiculous. And no doubt the food will now be cold , need to get kids to bed and this has been an expensive disaster!

10 mins. Great food, top quality. Its understandable that food is late sometimes. (If its gonna be late it would be nice to include some free mango chutney or pickle, something like that) very nice food, would highly recommend.

Korma was too much sweet . Biryani wasn’t that tasty.

I know it was a Saturday evening but the app said 55-70 mins for delivery. 2 hours to deliver in the end with a phone call to the restaurant to chase it. Food is cold but does taste nice after microwaving it

Food was okay. Delivered over an hour late. I get there was poor weather conditions but it's a 20 minute drive. No excuse dog being an hour and 40 minutes late.

I order from here regularly and am a loyal customer, i would say 3 times my order has been very late but I’ve never felt the need to leave a review over that. However since again a late delivery, I ordered at 4 with an estimated delivery time of 17:35-17:55. My order arrived later than this and it’s frustrating service when no call is made to make me aware so I have to ring for an update which is a struggle for me with my mental health, hence ordering through it puts me off ordering in future.

Amazing food and delivered on time time too. Super delicious and piping hot upon arrival . Highly recommended.

Used to really enjoy Cheriton Balti, but unfortunately with our last few orders the food quality has gone down hill. The last few times they’ve also got our order wrong. But can’t fault the delivery as always arrives quickly and hot

Food never arrived and the restaurant have been incompetent in providing a refund. They offer a poor service. Would not recommend.

Too hot to eat and totally unexpected being a biryani. If I wanted a vindaloo I would have asked first it. This is the second time it’s happened. The first time was a chicken dansak that took the lining of my mouth away. Won’t be ordering from them again!

Fabulous food, a bit short on chicken in the masala but very tasty. Delivery took 1.5 hours but worth the wait.

Wonderful food, everything was freshly cooked and arrived bang on time too. I took note of the restaurant’s reply on one of the reviews and phoned them to make sure that one of our dishes were runny and the other two to be quite thick. The person over the phone was so polite and understanding. Highly recommend Cheriton Balti to everyone 😊

Hello my food never turned up I’ve tryed calling the restaurant to see why but there closed will be calling tomorrow but would like a refund I’ve left my number on the notes for the driver but have not received a call

Awful watered down Chiken Korma was tasteless and It was like soup. Tikka starter had no flavour. Rice was ok though

Waited an hour extra for the food. They only called me back after I tried to cancel the order. The curry was delivered without the rice. Called x 2 to the restaurant and no-one answered. So we have curry without rice. Abysmal.

Do not trust this place if you are a vegetarian. My vegetable dish had chicken in it and they did not seem to understand the problem when my husband complained!!!! Their response to him leaving a bad review on Just Eat was very dismissive as they said they apologised and sent us out a replacement vegetable meal which they are sure we enjoyed. Apology is a bit too late when I only realised their mistake after having the chicken in my mouth. Not a big deal to a meat eater but a BIG deal to a vegetarian!

Wrong food sent out wife is a vegetarian thay sent out chicken i got my meal but a vegetarian meal was chicken not good service i would not trust this place

I don’t know why my favourite curry house was closed last couple of weeks, I missed them so much but I’m so happy to see them reopened again. The food as always super fresh and super delicious and arrived piping hot. Please don’t close for too long next time 😊

The food was absolutely amazing this evening. Everything was super delicious, food arrived piping hot and the portions were nice and generous as well. Yes I do get the occasional bad one from them but it wouldn’t stop me from ordering with them because 90% per cent of the time they’re simply perfect. took an hour and a half to arrive, as stated.. but we ordered early in the day so not really sure why it took so long. food was bland and all same texture.. no herbs or spices, everything tasted the same..rice overdone. really disappointed and regret this order.

Vegetable curry had no vegetables and was only half a small container of sauce without vegetables. One starter was tepid but otherwise the other food was good. Disappointing as usually everything is excellent. Not sure what the problem was with the vegetable curry?

The chicken tikka masala was the best my husband has had anywhere in the area as usual. The chicken chat was tasty but sadly the purée was so wet I couldn’t eat it… We will order again, but I may have to reconsider what I order…

Lamb tikka had no flavour just tasted like tomato sauce. Didn't finish won't get agian. Also came 20 minutes later than expected

We have ordered from here before and generally good food and service but today's order was disappointing. Ordered meat samosa and got veg, tandoori mixed grill was not up to standard and was a very small portion. I will still order again to see if it was just a one off.

Arrived quickly and still hot. Food was tasty, spicy and not oily. Not a fan of big chunks of onion and green peppers though. But would still order again.

Enjoyed that. Would like to see more veg in the balti mixed veg personally to add more texture, but happy with everything else. Brilliant delivery service and quick too for a Saturday.

Refried rice with added frozen vegetables to bulk it out isn't exactly everyone's idea of gourmet Indian cuisine and it certainly isn't mine either.

It was ok, onion Bhaji didn’t taste cooked and felt undercooked and the butter chicken had no taste, portion sizes very small too

Great meal. We ordered two lamb (meat) dansaks and two lamb madras. Ber generous portions of meat, good quality lamb too, nice and tender and meals beautifully spiced Not had a bad meal from Cheriton tandoori yet l!

They got the order to me in great time from when I ordered and every single thing was amazing. They could easily charge more than they do for the achari chicken because its so good. The rice, naan, and chaat all came at a great price and were all very good, my favourite was the chaat which was an amazing starter. Amazing food, at an amazing price, and the driver was very friendly too. Definitely the only one to order from when I fancy a curry from a restaurant.

Cheriton Balti is easily the best Indian Takeaway in Folkestone and possibly in the UK. The food tonight was awesome, piping hot as usual and delivered super quick. Yes it can be a long wait sometimes but that is due to their enormous popularity. We have tried many dishes and ordered so many times throughout the years and never had any problems. Food is always hot and tasty 10/10, keep up the good work guys.

Food was delivered within the estimated time but our rice was missing. We had to wait another 20 mins before a second driver delivered. The restaurant gave us a free small can of coke for this, but we do not drink these and we’re not offered a choice.
