The Prince of India in Shepway

Sadly this was below par… food was lukewarm and delivery was 35 longer than the time quoted… Prince of India is normally my ‘go to’ Indian takeaway/restaurant but definitely unimpressed with todays order

The lamb dish I ordered turned out to be chicken! the poppadum's were all smashed up and no salad with my chicken tikka

1 hour and 40 minutes for food to arrive which to be honest is shocking for early Friday evening, food was good but not very hot which is probably due to how long it took. called the restaurant when it was past delivery time and was told it's left and wouldn't be long, it still look 15minutes for a 5 minute drive. very disappointed

Shocking delivery time for 1 chicken korma and rice , waited an hour and 10 mins. At least 10 mins over the maximum delivery time .

Disappointed to be waiting for our dinner. 45 minutes waiting time and then 30 minutes late.

Wots the point of having a delivery time just a sorry and no money off , not even the delivery charge wavered!!!

Every time i come to this restaurant there is a problem with the bill,,,,,,, always being higher than the price on the leaflet i even had a row with the manger for wanting £6 more than it should have been i even showed him the mathematics written down and still he argued that he was correct,,,,,,,,,,The food is always superb and never had an issue,,,,,,,,i am just soo pissed off with being ripped off i will not go back there again........it's not just now and again....this happens every time....sorry but great food just bad customer service,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ANGRY

Curry was very watery and chicken felt dry when chewing. Never usually have an issue with the food but today was a let down. Delivery driver was lovely though!

I ordered my food at 5:50pm it didn’t turn up until 7:30pm, the curry and rice was cold. Never ordering from there again.

Lovely meal from Prince of India. Saag aloo was undercooked but I was given a refund so I won’t remove a star. Otherwise, everything else absolutely delicious.

Is there a different chef? The chicken tikka curry was much stronger and no oily veg base. The chicken tikka masala was spicier than normal too but lovely. We also got one extra chicken tikka masala instead of the white rice that should have come with it - but that was kind of a bonus.

Fast delivery, food was piping hot and even got a couple of freebies. Always had good food and no problem ordering.

Delivery was good, the guy respected our instructions but the food was very oily and part of it was not edible.

I know delivery was late but understand you were extremely busy but worth waiting for. It was so tasty, meat so tender , I will certainly order again thank you, best ever meal I’ve had .

*** This had been the only Restaurant who takes the time to read the notes I’ve submitted for the Chef which is my garlic naan to be really garlicky and most important not doughy but not burnt so I’ll always put *** at from and end of message and you read what I requested and it was my birthday and my partner and I loved it so much & we will always appreciate you reading my few words on the order. It was my birthday but we loved the food and i am just about to reorder

We visited last night, early evening, family of 14. Waited a while for starters, which didn't all come out at the same time, luke warm. Waited what seemed an age for mains. It appeared they were more interested in getting out their home delivery service. Mains were luke warm. Very disappointing as we used to visit some years ago and was always very good

The rice was waterie and the naa wasn't that good bit under done

Nearly 2 hours late but good was good and tasty lots of sauce on the curry.

We have been eating here quite frequently for 25 years. It is consistently good. I cannot remember ever being disappointed there but I would advise sticking to bottled beer. Staff are friendly and it is a wonderful restaurant. Pricing is reasonable.

Arrived for buffet. Took drinks order and then were told no buffet available but could order from menu. Too late to go elsewhere so stayed. Food was OK but dishes were bereft of meat. Manager came to table moaning about costs. Has gone downhill. Won't go back.

Food hasn’t even arrived!! Had to call the restaurant, for them to say they don’t deliver to Hythe! Had to go and collect the food.

Order was late. Tried to call restaurant and no one picked up even after serval times trying to phone. Also when food arrived it was cold! We have order through them a few times before but over time we have realised time is always late. However tonight has been the longest. I’m afraid after this evening it has put us off and we will not be ordering agian. You never receive an apology. Service has gone down hill.

Enjoyed the food, first time we have ordered from here, original delivery time was 19.50 and then delayed! Will probably order from here again though as different from our usual.

This used to be a great spot for a delicious curry, but not anymore. Staff who looked like they didn’t want to be there, over an hour’s wait for the main course which was lukewarm and a curry that was more a bag of frozen veg with a few bits of chicken added. Never again.

Food missing and took over 2 hours to arrive. The food that did arrive was nice though, but as a regular customer, won’t be ordering again as I’m not going to wait 2 hours and then be fobbed off with a heavy traffic excuse!

Took over 2 hours and two phone calls to reach us and when it did if was all squashed and everything was covered in chicken tikka!

What a bargain the buffet was shameon those restaurants ripping people off. If these guys can do it so cheaply, and so well then it shows off the bad restaurants that are ripping us all off.

Incredible balance of flavours, good-sized portions and everything tasted fresh.

Food always spot on! Plus I’m a Coeliac and they have never made me ill. So great to have somewhere to eat that’s local and reliable.

Excellent food every single time! We eat here regularly and the food is always absolutely spot on. It's a family run business and everyone is really friendly and professional. Despite being busy all the time, the place always has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Can also recommend their takeaways as food always comes out great each time. Decent prices too!

Poor service and extreme waiting times. Was given a time estimate of 1 hour initially which was understandable. Then came the delays. It was initially delayed for half an hour, so we waited. After this, we had to call them, and they said it was ready and waiting for a driver. 15 minutes later Just Eat said it had been delivered when it had not. Another 25 minutes later, we were still waiting. They refused even a partial refund for the total of 2hrs + waiting time. Not even an apology.

Very disappointed, an hour late then delivered the wrong food. They did rectify the mistake very quickly but the food quality is nothing like what it use to be. We use to be regulars here, very disappointed

The food was cold, I had to re-heat it. I got sent the wrong rice too. The onion bajis was rough and over cooked. Not happy I spent £20 on that!

Last few times we’ve ordered the food has been late. By half an hour or close to half an hour. Food is always so nice and we support this business. This time rice was abit hard to normal but on a all there food is always so lovley.

I called them up and they said would be here at 19:30 didn’t turn up until 19:40! They forgot the side salad bag and the side popadom sauce. Rice that coke with the chicken Bhuna was very VERY greasy. Wont be using again

Food was only lukewarm when it arrived . I had to call twice to ask where it was, and whilst talking to me, he started to serve someone who had obviously gone to the restaurant. I was also a paying customer. I might have been at home, but I was still a customer. It's just very rude, to be honest

Delivery time was between 18:50-19:10, app said food was delivered but it wasn’t. Called the restaurant at 19:13 to check, said it was still out for delivery then eventually arrived at around 19:25 with no updates throughout.

Tonight was not the best from Prince of India… normally it’s top notch but there were 2 keema naans without any meat in it, small amount of chicken in the dishes and tasted quite bland… soft popadoms too… sadly not their best and not up to their normally high standard

They serve the tastiest food and the staff are very welcoming and warm. I think about the meal I had here several times a week... 🤤

Shame, the food is normally good here. This time it wasn't the case. The food was way too salty, way too oily, I mean, the food was dripping in oil. We had 3 different mains and each was exactly the same colour, taste and the contents was the same. It varied in spice but that was it. Really disappointing. Definitely not worth the money.

Called for a take away it came to £47...... Food arrived half of it wasn't there so I phoned up and the guy implied I was lying which obviously annoyed so i got angry and said id bring it all back then he started shouting down the phone, swearing.... Saying he's had the worst F**KING Monday and he didn't need THIS then hung up, I called back and I said £47 IS ALOT to me I want it to be right he said he would send whats missing and apologised half hour later our starters turned up..... No apology no compensation nothing..... I used to always order from here but I will never order again, terrible customer service mediocre food that costs loads don't waste your money

We had a takeaway from here.. it was disgusting. No flavour whatsoever, and there was much oil in all of the food that it went through all of the packaging onto the kitchen surface. Definitely wouldn't recommend unfortunately
