Cardamom Restaurant in Shepway

After seeing the reviews,I decided to try.what can I say,you certainly won’t be disappointed.it was delicious.Definitely worth the 20 minute car ride.

Had to post, wr had a takeaway last night. And I must say, it did not disapoint. The food was tasty, plenty of it, hadn't tryed this indian for a while, will use this again very nice pleasantly surprised thank you well done 😀 😊

3 families orders were taken after us. Yet Despite us eating pappadpms. No main orders had been taken, the daal was sent back by us as it was like water .. The 3 families ate before us and they hadn’t even booked Our reserved table was not given to us either. The restaurant excuse was 2 of our dishes were Tandoori and an egg had to be cooked. Our party was mostly vegetarian bar 1 meat dish. No explanation given over waiting can’t believe that the non locals were given priority. Husband won’t go again !we only live 5 mins away ! Such disregard for our loyalty over the years. Never mind 2 other good Indian restaurants in New Romney that do deliveries too.

Lovely restaurant food was very nice and seasoned great taste. the only thing I would have changed is needs some music for background noise, but service and food were amazing

One of the best curry places I have been to and can't wait to go back again. Ordered the bitter lemon chicken dish and omg, have we never tasted something like this before - delicious food, can't recommend it enough

Excellent food, fantastic chefs, great service, very clean, comfortable relaxing atmosphere, great that you can take your own wine and are provided sparkling wine glasses. Salmon tikka delicious, paneer dishes to go back for, tasty authentic food from chefs who care to tailor the food to your taste. Thank-you Cardamon for a great restaurant meal and a great takeaway meal. We will be back. Definitely one of the best.

We were recommended to eat here by some local people in the Smugglers ale house. We visited quite early on a Saturday and plenty of tables available. The service was friendly and speedy. I nipped next door for a bottle of wine. Superb food, the sag aloo was the best I have tasted.

Since Cardamom opened we always get polite & friendly customer service with our telephone orders :-) All the different dishes we have tried have been sooooo tasty. Very much looking forward to having a sit down meal here with friends before Christmas ! EDIT July '23 takeaway portion sizes seem to have a reduced qty of meat in them. Still same great taste tho.

Wonderful restaurant clean and the staff are polite the food is delicious

From the outside you'd be forgiven for thinking it looks a bit down. But the service and food was amazing. They do a weekday special discount which makes it a super affordable meal out.

Banging curry when eating in. Takeaway never as nice, but that's to be expected... The restaurant was quiet and the service was good. Take your own booze 👌

We had a takeaway and it was absolutely delicious. Friendly delivery driver and prompt service! All 6 of us had different dishes and all were fresh, hot and tasty.

Food was brilliant, service was amazing extremely polite. Didn't feel rushed quite the opposite in fact. Curries that had some spice didn't taste like tomato soup 😁 and all at an extremely reasonable price. Would deffo visit again!!

The quality of the food is outstanding. Best curry house on the marsh IMO. Everything looks and tastes like its been cooked from scratch. Wouldn't get curry from anywhere else now. The only niggle is that the wait for takeaways can be excessive. This isnt as much of a problem if the customer is aware of this from the off but it can ruin an meal if its unexpected. I think sometimes they accept more orders than the kitchen can comfortably handle but the kitchen never compromises on quality in order to keep up. Will definitely use again as the food is sublime and the staff are really nice and polite.

Last year was great, this year bahjis are half the size and the curry was watery and tasteless, will not be returning!

Nearly 2 hour wait and appalling customer service. The rediculous watery curry sauce and watery tarka dahl were beyond a joke. I'm a long time customer and I'll never use here again. Shame

What a waste of time,never again,ordered never received it,just told "10mins" ring again "10mins" 1hr and 25mins later,still no delivery,10mins ha ha ha never again

Ordered a take away, had rice a couple of main dishes and a couple of sides. Not a nice flavour. All Very bland. We are local so a sham we will not be hurrying back

Never again, I called the owner to let him know how dissatisfied we were, the Pershwari nan bread tasted like sick, also very watered down korma sauce and the food was barely warm, in these difficult times you'd expect these places to raise their standards and keep customers.

Curry seemed watered down.. my nan bread was soaked and I had to use kitchen roll to mop up the water on my plate.. disappointed

Wow !!!!!!!!! We ordered it online to collect What a great curry was excellent in flavour was hot. Price was very reasonable. The pot of sauce we got was amazing have no idea what it was but would have that again. Thank you for a delicious meal

Worst take away I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. Nothing like any Indian dishes I have ever eaten; tasteless dry chicken awash with slimy curry sauce and acidic slices of onion. Ghastly colours and barely hot enough to eat. Threw the lot in the bin. This restaurant should be ashamed of the rubbish they are selling under the name of Indian food.

We had a takeaway from Cardamom this evening, it was excellent. You could not fault a single thing. I would highly recommend eating from here.

We loved our curry this evening, the lamb dhansk was particularly delicious. Good size portions with lots of meat, great service, and fast to collect.

Excellent food specially the murgi masala and tandoori roti. Biryani was OK but overall very satisfied

First time using Cardomom. Staff were extremely friendly. Service was good. Meal was excellent. Will definitely use again either for a sit down meal or take away.

Ordered the resteraunts set meal for one at 5pm on Friday night, whilst I expected to wait a little longer than usual being a Friday I’ve had to phone twice each time being told it’s on its way , I even received a text to my phone to say it would be with be at 6.15 latest it’s now 7.15 pm and I’m still waiting for my order two hours 15 minutes for a meal for one to be delivered 5 minutes up the road , won’t be ordering again

Not like any curry i have ever had. Tough dry lamb, tiny king prawns. Not hot when it arrived. If this is the best in New Romney its about time someone opened a decent one.

The tastiest, curry House in the area, in my opinion.. Theyre always pleasant on the phone, and thus far haven't ever got my order wrong, which can and does happen everywhere. So based on 2 visits and 5 takeaways.. 5 stars.

Got the menu through the door thought we would give it a try, big mistake couldn’t even get the simplest of orders correct , had to phone up to get the rest of the order which meant the rest of the food sat there going cold.if I wanted to heat food up in a microwave I would have got something out the freezer . Terrible service. Will stick to our usual curry house who don’t make mistakes like this and have people answering the phone who know how to take an order.1 star so I can write the review

This raises the bar when it comes to Indian food! If you live near New Romney and like Indian food you must try this, you won't regret it.

The food in this Indian is first class, the staff’s English was not great but I went for the food and that I can not fault, from our starters to our mains they were all excellent and cooked to perfection, my no 1 choice when in the mood for Indian

Fantastic end to our holiday. Food is amazing and service couldn't have been better. All staff are friendly and were very kind to our 5 year old daughter who was treated with a surprise for eating all her food! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Lovely tasty food but very stingy with the Tandoori King Prawns. 2 prawns cut in half. In my usual restaurant we get 5 whole big fat ones.

Excellent food and fantastic services, went back twice in our stay as all the family enjoyed so much. Highly recommended

2nd time we have had a takeaway, first time they forgot samosas but great food , 2nd time forgot saag aloo and got chicken tikka masala instead of a hot nagah chicken. Very different curry. Very disappointed. Would only order from here again as my wife loves their korma .

Fantastic restaurant. We went twice whilst on holiday in the area. Lovely curries on both occasions. Would highly recommend - wish we lived closer so we could go again!
