Ordered two lamb tikka masala (take away).the lamb tikka masala was just made up with what tasted like tomato ketchup with added sugar, it was horrible I wouldn't even feed an animal. Who ever was I charge of your kitchen on mother's day should be fired. After this experience I would never order or recommend this place.

Garden curry restaurant is long established in 54 Tontine Street Folkestone Kent and famous for variety of Asian cuisine in the town The restaurant has been recently refurbished has cosy seating arrangement & decent wash room area Visit to restaurant on weekends extremely busy & week days are more relaxing and enjoyable We are frequent visitors to the restaurant as family and friends and guests we found the food taste and smell and flavour well balanced & every time served without delay we have had meat-fish dishes-pulao - rice-nans-and of course enjoyable papa dam We have always found the price is very completive and generous servings and this applies to take away and home delivery

My partner and I recently moved to Folkestone and this place was recommended to us by a local so we had high hopes, but we ordered delivery from them on Friday night and found the flavour and general quality to be average. Not bad at all, but nothing remarkable enough to want to come back. The chicken tikka masala was sweeter than I'm used to, which I wasn't a fan of. The parathas weren't as flaky as I like them. The tarka dal was decent and very garlicky. The vegetable samosas were fine. The onion bhajia were a little on the stodgy, oily side. We will try some of the other curry spots in town before trying this restaurant again.

Not bad. Just a pretty normal curry comparable to many curry houses across the UK.

Good delivery time but sadly, not great food. The lamb/meat dish was so tough you could barely cut it let alone chew it, and the chicken dish was way too overly salty. Not pleasant at all so we didn't eat either dish. Given the cost of the meal, this was very poor experience.

Me and the wife are in Folkestone for the weekend just visited the curry garden I can honestly say it’s one of the best curry’s we have eaten portion sizes are good very friendly staff would highly recommend this restaurant

We moved to Folkestone a year ago and were looking for recommendations for Indian food. The Curry Garden was constantly mentioned to us as being the best in town. We've had a few takeaways during the year which have been great. Tonight, after a 6 hour car journey, we decided to call in for a sit down meal. Very welcoming and friendly service (with a smile), great tasting food and excellent value. The Curry Garden is definitely our 'go to' place. Superb.

This place is a real gem. The food and flavours are very authentic and everything is cooked to a good standard. I came with a friend who recommended me the place and we were very looked after from the minute we arrived. We had mix grill and the special a meat special with chapatis and popadoms The staff are very friendly. Good value, I would recommend less cream in the saag paneer but that’s to my taste. Highly recommend this place

A family celebration where 3 of us were left with no food for almost an hour. The delivery notification came up as delivered but it hadn't been. Had to ring restaurant twice, they didn't know where the driver was. Food arrived 50 minutes late and was luke warm at most. Dreadful and stressful experience. Extremely unhappy!

I remember the days when the restaurant was called the ‘Calcutta’ before being renamed ‘The Curry Garden’ (which shows just how long I’ve been attending!) The food is consistently fantastic, with rich flavors and a menu that offers both classic and innovative dishes. Every meal feels like a special experience, thanks to the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Sami and his team are always so friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure every visit is memorable. Whether it’s accommodating special requests or simply checking in with a warm smile, they create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere that keeps me coming back and has done for many years. On vacation for 3 days we discovered this unique and very warm place. Perfect cuisine full of flavors and colors. The quantities are monstrous and the prices justified. I'll come back for sure. thank you for this moment

We visited Curry Garden over the weekend and had a mostly enjoyable experience with some standout dishes, though a few elements fell short. As normal we started with 6 Popadoms Please, which were crisp and flavorful, accompanied by four chutneys, including the often-requested lime pickle! The food was great, ticking most of the boxes in what we look for; the Chicken Tikka Dhansak was up there with some of the nicest we’ve had, with a balance of sweet, sour, and spice. However, the chicken was a bit rubbery, which let the dish down slightly. The Chicken Tikka Masala (Madras Hot), while hitting the right spice level, lacked the depth of flavour we expected from a Tikka Masala, and again, the chicken texture was a bit disappointing. We also ordered the Chicken Korai House Special which was the highlight of the evening. It packed the perfect mix of hot, spicy, and sweet flavours. This lovely dish was a testament to the service. The waiter suggested we try the Special and came back to see how we enjoyed it and explain the origin of how they make the unique dish. The vibe was welcoming and lively, with a good mix of diners filling the space. However, the lighting was a bit too bright for our taste, and the music could have been turned up a notch to really enhance the atmosphere. The toilets appeared to have been recently refurbished and were immaculately clean, leaving very little to complain about. In conclusion, while some dishes fell short, the service and standout moments made it a worthwhile visit. We’d definitely go back. Rating: 4.6 out of 6 Six Poppadoms Please #6PP

We visited the Curry Garden for the first time last night having lived in Folkestone for 18 years - how we have missed out! Excellent first impression - toilets were sparkling. Food was fantastic - very tasty tender meat and good size portions. No licence so BYO which helps keep the cost down! Very friendly and attentive service - can’t wait to go back!

This was a delightful find. The food was good and authentic . It was reasonably priced. For a weekday meal out, just the job. It probably isn't the right place for a special occasion, though. There was a family feel about the place which I rather liked. The staff were immensely polite and the waiter Olie R exceptional. I did feel that the staff had a genuine commitment to customer service and to this restaurant as their work place. I am sure I will return here.

Wasn’t a very good experience at all! Poppadoms were stale, they were bendy and chewy. Our mains werent very nice either, we had a chicken tikka madras & lamb dansak. Chicken you could tell was frozen as some pieces were okay and others were crunchy & all the same size & cut same way. Also lacked flavour. Lamb was really tough! No music on in the background & had no atmosphere. We have been to a lot of curry houses but this one has definitely been one of the worst. Do not recommend

A superb menu in this restaurant. I had a main course of Chicken Dansak that was probably the best I've had in the last 10 years! Heat with subtle spicing... beautiful! They don't serve alcohol but you can bring it in with you. The four of us all had different dishes but agreed the quality was excellent!! I would recommend a visit.

As someone who, unfortunately, suffers genuine intolerances to food, it is important for a restaurant or anyone serving you food, to get your food requirements right. Despite explaining numerous intolerances and trying to explain that I need for me food to be served plain, I was assured that plain chicken could be served. The chicken I was served was far from plain, however, this only becomes apparent after having bitten into said chicken. The upshot is that people serving you your food flat out LIE to you. So decide for yourself if you are happy to place your confidence in an establishment which blatantly ignores your genuine needs and is happy to tell you barefaced lies in the interest of taking a few quid off you. Will not be going back here EVER

Liars. Despite explaining that I have numerous food intolerances and asking if it was possible to serve me plain meat, I was assured plain meat could be served. The meat was absolutely not plain. So the only conclusion that I can draw is that this establishment does not care about my needs or welfare and is happy to LIE to me in order to take a few quid off me. Let's hope my dining experience will not adversely affect my health for the next couple of weeks. Not that they'd care, apparently. Absolutely never setting foot in this unhygienic, dishonest establishment ever again

Had dinner here last night with my boyfriend. He had king prawn vindaloo and I had chicken dansak. We shared pilau rice and garlic naan and a few papadums. Can't fault any of it - really tasty! Dansak was really flavoursome with loads of chicken, vindaloo was yummy and super spicy as expected. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced - whole thing came to just under £40. BYOB from the newsagents down the road. The man that served us was polite and attentive.

We ordered a takeaway for six people, which we collected, the restaurant was really busy (good sign) the food was excellent only problem was a main item was missing but upon phoning the owner delivered the missing item with some poppadoms added so cannot praise the service, value and food highly enough - well done

My go to indian in Folkestone, nothing but good things to say normally.. but the person on the phone on the occasion was less than useless when i enquired about a missing item. Food quality very good as per, just let down by that one thing

The achari gosht is a dish you must try that not many other Indian restaurants do and the kurzi lamb too. This place offers original Indian/Bangladesh food of the highest quality. Nothing is too much hassle for them. Seriously the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too and that includes all the curry houses in brick lane I’ve visited this really is the best

We asked if the restaurant would open specially for us to celebrate a birthday. Usually closed Sunday afternoons, they obliged. There were about 25 of us. It was wonderful. We paid a reasonable set price and were treated to poppadoms and chutneys. Then a lovely mixed starter came out. Followed by several different curries and veg dishes with rice and nan bread. So much that many people took take away containers full. How the kitchen did it was amazing. It was all hot and very tasty. The children were happy and so were the adults. The tables were 😍beautifully set when we arrived. I love this restaurant. Always consistently excellent. Lovely clean loos. You take your own booze and they clear your mess. What is not to love.

The BEST Curry Restaurant in Folkestone. On last visit (Thu 25th Apr) saw that there were 2 new 'House Specials' on the menu. We tried both - Shahi and Shatkora - and can recommend them to all the regulars to try these new dishes. The Shatkora is a Chef's special and was delicious, the Shahi has a slight citrus flavouring which was most pleasing to the palate. We know what we'll be ordering again on our next visit. Well done to Sammy and the staff for another great night.

Wouldn't return as only average. I always have a Dansak and this one was horrible I had to send it back. Far too sweet and not hot. Also they tried to overcharge us by £20!!! Not impressed.

First time, but definitely not the last! Absolutely delicious food. Best Indian food we have had in a long time. Chicken was melting in the mouth, sauce just delicious and garlic mushrooms packed in the tray and full of flavour. Thank you.

Didn't have the best experience. Over the phone service was really poor by a lady and I'm not sure about the food. It didn't treat my tummy well. Been to the loo several times. We aren't even local just visiting family so thought it would be nice to have some Asian food but didn't go well unfortunately.

The lady in this restaurant steals your money. I purchased a biriyani and there was no papadam and salad and charged me extra. These are given at any restaurants as part of the biriyani. She was so rude on the phone when I questioned. This is the second time this has happened. When I asked why it was missing her answer was "its my restaurant and we run it how we want." What a disgusting and pathetic lady. She spoiled my day

We live in Hawkinge so would normally support our local Indian, but the last takeaway we had from there was poor and had no meat in the curry. We thought we would try Curry Garden. Ordered on the phone, quick delivery, hot food on arrival and great taste and quality. Thank you Curry Garden. We will be ordering again. 🙂
