This small fronted winery can almost be missed when walking along Cinque Ports Street in Rye. But spot it and venture in and you'll be greeted by wonderful hosts (Graham and his wife) who really make you feel welcome. The fairly small interior is cosy but nice and their extensive knowledge of wines is second to none. It's not expensive either. Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back.

It's one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. Great food and plenty of it. Manager/owner charming and the staff were helpful. Specialising in Bangladeshi cusine. I had a unique dish, which was a rice and chicken dish delightfully spiced and in a closed pot sealed by bread. Very exciting !!! Very busy mid week, so worth bookings if going at a weekend.

Had a weekend away at The Fig as first timers last weekend, location was great, room was lovely and staff, breakfast and dinner were excellent! We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived, staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The Fig is popular with locals and tourists and we understand why! The meals were great, delicious well presented and with a clear focus on quality. We would love to come back and recommend people try it!

We came in for a birthday lunch. It was a Saturday, and it became really busy, which we appreciate. However, between ordering our food and actually receiving it took over an hour, so long that a table behind us that came in after us got their food and left in that time. After an hour of waiting we asked where our food was to be told it was getting plated up, however we didn’t actually get it for another 20 minutes. I don’t usually write reviews, however my experience left me feeling I had to. In the end, it wasn’t so much the wait that disappointed us, as we appreciated they were busy, but once we received our food no one apologised for the wait, and we felt dismissed and forgotten about and that the staff were then annoyed with us because we had to ask after waiting a long time. No smiles and we weren’t even checked on or offered more drinks. The food was lovely once we got it and we initially were going to stay for dessert, but ended up feeling like we no longer wanted to because of the wait time and how the staff treated us. We also felt once we had our food that we were rushed out by the staff. I hope this was a one off.

Cream tea for £9.50 included 2 scones but I was disappointed with the quality of them. Being a traditional tea shop I expected home made fruit scones but these looked and tasted shop bought. Disappointed for the price but the service and place was lovely. Perhaps I should have had cake instead!

Went in for breakfast this morning after walk with my dog. Lady behind counter blew her nose, and didn't wash hands. On putting in order I mentioned to her she just smiled and continued saying she was busy taking payments, if that's health and safety I would not trust them cooking my food etc. So left

Stayed at Haydens for a weekend break with friends. Can’t recommend it enough. Lovely rooms, helpful staff, great coffee and cakes and the breakfast is amazing and cooked to order. Shout out to the staff at breakfast and for afternoon coffee/cakes who were amazing and so helpful. Would definitely visit again.

What a lovely restaurant Marcos is! Hubby and I went in for lunch, was greeted by a very friendly hostess, taken through to a surprisingly spacious dining area. Lovely background music. We went for narcos experience set meal and was impressed by the taste and freshness of the dishes. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and service was spot on. I would absolutely recommend and will definitely be going back.
