My other half wanted to go to a tea room that had a variety of tea rather than coffee. This place is SO cute. Buried in a side alley. It's small and cute but beautiful! We sat outside and the little sparrows were just hopping around. Drinks were lovely as were the cheese scones we had. Staff very knowledgeable as well. Definitely worth a visit!

An archetypal English tea room in the pleasant town of Rye. We were fortunate enough to find parking in the small Strand Quay car park and the tea rooms are a gentle 1/4 mile walk uphill from there. It is very popular, so the tables are quite close together to try and accommodate the demand - several people had to be turned away or asked to wait in the early Saturday afternoon when we visited. We enjoyed tea, some excellent scones, and a slice of the tasty coffee and walnut cake between us at a very reasonable price. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful and we would go back again if visiting the area.

Tiny but beautiful quaint little cottage down a small alley. There are a couple of tables out the front and there’s a backyard too where we dined as well as indoors. We had the fresh ham salad and quiche. Both were perfect. Staff and service very good. Nearly went for the cream tea which looked divine. Don’t miss this one!

During our visit to Rye, my partner and I had the pleasure of experiencing the delightful Cobbles Tea Room. I ordered the carrot cake and cucumber sandwiches and my partner ordered the coffee cake and scone (I still dream about that scone). In addition to the amazing food, our server, Tim, made our visit to Cobbles Tea Room a highlight of our time in Rye. He was a lovely server and we even ran into him later where he gave us many recs around the neighborhood.

The traditional cream tea does not get any better than here. The two warm scones melted in the mouth, with the ample amount of good jam and cream. The house tea is great and strong. The interiors are lovely, like a true traditional tea house should be.

Perfect cream tea for our visiting French family. It was hot - there would be a longish wait... and then a table emptied and they fitted us in! Honestly, it was my best cream tea since I was at school in the Weald of Kent more than 50 years ago. Perfect home made scones - clotted cream - jam - sponge cake - tea in a pot. Lovely staff, working really hard to make everyone's afternoon. And the great conundrum of jam first or cream first?? It's all about the viscosity - you can't spread thick cream on fluid jam - or vice versa. S'obvious, innit?

Its always a pleasure to take visitors to Cobbles, and the tea shop never fails to impress. During the most recent trip we sampled the delicious Victoria sponge and the super tasty Coffee and Walnut cake. And of course we couldn't resist sampling the scones, which would have earned the baker a Paul Hollywood handshake: moist and so beautifully baked that they divided in two without the need to use a knife. A scrumptious treat.

When we arrived at Rye, and after hiking up the steep cobbled Mermaid street, despite the heat, all I wanted was a cup of tea. We stumbled on Cobblers, this is a compact little tea room, but very picturesque. The food was good and reasonably priced, but the grouchy and impatient camp waiter let it down which is a shame as the place looked so charming.

We used to have great breakfasts in the past at this location but we were both very much disappointed by paying 40 pounds for being served old bread under our choice of breakfast. First it was like it had been toasted several times at an earlier time that day and tasted like old toast and was extremely hard, thin and a very small slice of toast, that was not cuttable or biteable. When I asked to change it, I received then a slice of old, dry untoasted bread in a place that sells fresh bread every day. It felt like the avocado had shrunk a lot and the egg was cold as it came back within minutes. My husband had the same, old, dry bread under his choice of breakfast. The small amount of ginger and turmeric shot, was mixed with too much water too. The prices for eating out in general have been shooting up enormously in England in the last two years, however, sadly to say, the quality and service in some places have been going down. There seem to be a lack of awareness amongst the owners, chefs and services, that some people also have to work a lot to be able to have the luxury, which it is becoming more and more, to eat out and that they don't want to spend their money on badly prepared or bad quality of food for high prices.

Three night stay. Staff were very helpful and accommodating but the ‘luxury’ room was a let down. VERY small bathroom, unfinished tiling and floor and cold. Dust everywhere, dead flies and cobwebs in glazing, bins not emptied during entire stay. Very limited toiletries and tea/coffee tray. Old pillows without protectors. The breakfast was good but every item had to be ordered individually, nothing laid out for us to help ourselves to and there were no pastries or cereals
