Late lunch, early dinner. Roast was excellent with crispy roast potatoes, large Yorkshires and a delicious selection of veg. Real gravy on the side. Warm Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and cream was delicious. 🤤 Busy so staff were pushed but they were friendly and helpful. Recommended

Its a nice country pub good food nice service and a decent selection of beers, wines and spirits. With a garden and parking you can't go wrong for the money if you go out for a meal with your family or beers with your mates it's a great boozer.

We were a group of seven one had lamb he was ok the other six had beef we all fell ill next morning with food poisoning, I myself at to have a ambulance which is recorded.

Really nice local pub. The service was great, very friendly waiting staff, nice food and drinks. The price was very reasonable and they have a good selection of veggie options.

The food we ordered was extremely disappointing. The roast beef dish was overcooked, unappetizing and was piled on the plate in a most unappealing fashion. The vegetables on the other ordered dishes was overcooked. The point of eating out is to enjoy dishes that you cannot or do not wish to cook at home - in this case I wish we had. This pub is inexplicably popular - I guess we all have differing standards.

Staff are brilliant, love the bar and the food is outstanding. Definitely be visiting again!

Lovely food and pleasant atmosphere.

Very welcoming local pub. Very dog friendly, as soon as we arrived with our dog one of the girls working there brought him a.fresh bowl of water. We had the 6oz cheeseburger, with chips and salad and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Visited here for the Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. The portions were very generous and tasted great. There is a really nice ambience in the pub and it's reasonably priced for what you get. The only downside was that the service wasn't the best but it could have been due to how busy it was. Would definitely visit again.

Just popped over for a quick bite to eat without booking and was seated straight away will book next time the wife had fish pie which was a very big portion and taste lovely I had a 12ounce burger and for me was probably the best burger I've ever eaten along with the chips and onion rings . Couldn't eat all the chips as I was more than full up . Will 100% definitely be returning. And it's really nice to go somewhere and be greeted so nicely For me it's a place I would definitely recommend .

Live locally, but only just visited. Now been three times, with family and small children in garden for a drink and a meal twice. Definitely worth a visit and we will now visit regularly, even though it’s not a walk away (as is our most local pub) is everything a local pub should be, friendly staff, good food and vibe.

Poor service on this visit. Having been to the White Heart, Catsfeild several time previously and had always had a descent meal and good service but today (17th Aug) this was not the case. We arrived on time, we’re shown to our table but then had to wait 10-15 minutes before we were offered a drink. We ordered our food and the starter arrived, which we were sharing and had to wait again as our food got colder whilst the serving staff eventually brought side plates. The main courses then arrived and my wife immediately brought to their attention that her garlic potato’s had no garlic on them. The response was “what would you like us to do”, this was not sarcasm they were genuinely asking us what they should do - maybe replace the sauté potato’s with the requested garlic potatoes. We waited for the replacement potatoes, as our food got colder, and by the time the garlic potato’s arrived I was already more than half way through my main course, which is not good. My wife finished her dinner but did not completely finish her chicken and requested that she could take the remainder of the chicken home. The table was cleared and a few minutes later the serving staff informed us that the kitchen staff had thrown my wife’s remaining food (the chicken) in the bin. That was it, no offer to replace, no offer of anything, our money thrown away. We requested the bill, noted there was nothing offered by way of recompense for the, errors, we paid and we left, very disappointed with our latest visit. In my wife’s own words “ I guess this brings them down on our to return list”.

As we were staying at the local caravan park we could walk to this pub so it was handy if refreshment and food required. Obviously it was mainly locals frequenting it and all knew each other which gave a friendly feel. Didnt try menu & no- one was eating when we visited so cant comment on food. Would visit again.

Friendly pub good prices and clean With good atmosphere

Lovely interior, semi-rustic and felt authentic. Great theme throughout. Impressive display of owner's whiskey collection :) The food was perfect! Cooked brilliantly, really great presentation, looked and tasted great. Prices are a tad above average for rural pubs, certainly not cheap nor extremely expensive. No senior discounts, mid-week mid-day discounts, etc. Great outdoor area. The whole place gave the impression that great care has gone into making it attractive, clean and welcoming. Lovely flower baskets outside (written in July 2024). Evidence of attention to detail both for the venue and the food. The tarmac space between the road and pub looks a little lacklustre and that perhaps gives a wrong impression of a great place to eat and drink. Our group thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

A really great pub. The food is excellent, as are the staff who are very friendly and professional. Huge selection of drinks. Hundreds of gins, and very well kept range of beers. I loved the Harvey's bitter.

Amazing food! Had the best liver and bacon here. Staff are friendly and tentative, the place itself is also really nice and would be a great place to have for a party or small wedding party Overall 10/10 and will be coming back.

Good old warm friendly service which makes a world of difference. We made a mess of the booking as we got lost on a walk and went to wrong pub (doh!). No issue what so ever. They welcomed us with a smile and cheeky southern joke. We ll be back!

Called in today for the first time. What a lovely pub the staff are so welcoming and friendly and our dog loved it too she settled in and made herself at home. The apple and blackberry pie was LUSH I highly recommend the food. Absolutely fab we will be back. Thank you for a lovely afternoon x

My husband, our dog and I had been to visit the 1066 site and decided to get lunch in our way home. A search for dog friendly pubs nearby produced The White Hart. The menu online looked good so we headed down the road. There’s a decent size car park and we had no issues parking. Inside we were met with a warm welcome, a dog biscuit for Norma and seated in the bar area at a nice big table. Once we’d settled the drinks orders were taken, they were delivered and the food order taken. We each had a pie: chicken, ham and leek for me and steak and ale for my husband. The food was delivered and it was incredible. A generous slice of pie which was crammed full of the respective fillings. The steak melted in the mouth as did the chicken and ham. I had mash and my husband had sauté potatoes both with veg. There was a nice smothering of gravy on the food but it also came with an extra big jug of gravy - which was delicious. We give six thumbs up: one for being dog friendly one for being fine with my nut allergy three for the delicious food one extra for the jug of gorgeous gravy We’ll definitely be back!

We went for a meal here with my granddaughter. She order panko chicken burger. When it came to the table it looked over cooked. My granddaughter took a bite and said didn't taste very nice and when she showed me the chicken burger was still raw. You could tell it had been deep fried but had not cooked through. Thank god she hadn't eaten anymore. I will definitely not be going there again. Also staff standing at the end of the bar vaping then not washing their hands and going straight to serve customers...not professional

Visited the white hart catsfield today with my wife & our dog, we had a very good meal great staff very friendly made to feel welcome with our dog also. A nice traditional pub good food good beer also a lovely log fire. (Would recommend)

Once our local pub as a child. A lot has changed. Now a restaurant room once has been a play room. Nicely decorated. Tasty pub meals at reasonable prices. Very popular Saturday evening. Don't need to book. I haven't known it as a Inn.

We only ate here and didn't sleep. The food and service were excellent.

Pleasant atmosphere and staff friendly but the food wasn't great. When will people realise that a steak and kidney pudding heated in a microwave is not a great idea. Most of the pudding was hard and inedible. At no point did the staff ask if everything was ok.

We came here for Sunday lunch while staying nearby and we weren't disappointed- our server dealt with special food requirements without batting an eyelid, and the food was lovely. Roast spuds were crispy and the turkey was beautifully cooked. Excellent

We celebrated a joint 50th Birthday here on Saturday evening and it was amazing. The staff were so welcoming and helpful the pub looked charming and the Buffett food was lovely and there was plenty of it for everyone. So many drinks to choose from no one was disappointed. Highly recommend this traditional country pub.

Sunday roast 3/2/24 an unusual failure. It was more of a cremation with everything badly burnt and partly inedible. Shame! Normally so good.

Went for Sunday lunch in this popular pub. To avoid the noisy bar area we'd booked a table in the dining room which was comfortable and not too cramped. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Despite being busy the food arrived within an appropriate time. Our roasts were nicely presented and well cooked: crispy potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, tender beef without a hint of pink (just how we like it) with a modest helping of fresh veg. The Yorkshires were a tad dark and the dollop of mashed curried veg seemed an odd addition to a roast (I would have preferred more of the fresh veg), but otherwise it was tasty and satisfying. For afters we went for their signature flapjack crumble with custard, which was delicious and filling. All in all, nice meals for a sensible price.

As always the perfect choice. We don’t often eat out but choosing the White Hart it is just the perfect choice. The staff are so courteous and helpful. Our lunch today was perfect.

We visited for the first time on Saturday lunchtime, it’s was lovely, nice atmosphere, great friendly welcome, staff were excellent really attentive and making sure we were happy with everything. The food was really good and the chocolate orange pudding is incredible, we will definitely return.

As a senior group of guys we met up at the White Hart yesterday for a lovely Christmas Lunch and we’re more than pleased with our venue selection. There was a little confusion with numbers and selection but it was all sorted by Ruby in a delightful and attentive manner . We will be back, the food was spot on.

We stayed next door at the White Hart Stables and had three excellent meals at the White Hart. Dog friendly and some lovely local walks. The Manager Dan was extremely welcoming and has a great team of staff working for him . The choice of menu is excellent and offers great value. If you like a Single malt then your in for a treat. Open log fire added to the ambience. I would definitely recommend.

We held our beautiful daughter and son in laws wedding reception here on 25/11/23. What a fabulous choice! Charlie,his family and all the staff could not have done more for us. Wonderful food, friendly service and a day (and evening) that will stay in everyone's minds for a very long time to come. Couldn't have been better. Thankyou.

Went here this evening to listen to Mick Sweetman and he was fantastic, but unfortunately the pub allows people to vape indoors openly and my appergies started, then took an asthma attack so had to leave. Such a shame. How is this legal?

We were in the area for an appointment and happened upon the pub. We were blown away - such a beautiful pub with the most friendly and welcoming landlords and staff. The food was DELICIOUS - proper home cooked, wholesome food. For such a fantastic price too. The three of us all agreed it was the best meal out we've had in a long time. We just wish we lived closer as we'd be in very regularly! Thank you. ✨️

Lovely country pub setting, pleasant staff. Didn't eat there but pub was very busy and many tables were reserved for lunch/dinner so would recommend booking in advance if going to eat there.

Such a lovely evening, I only booked the evening before and they fitted us in at 6pm. Service throughout was friendly and efficient, we were well looked after by everyone, food was all homemade and catered for my mum in law who just wanted a small meal. Would highly recommend and puddings were pretty good too.

The White Hart is our favourite place to eat whilst staying on a nearby caravan site. We booked for 10 people twice during our most recent trip (they do get busy). The staff are always accommodating to your needs, including dogs. We preordered which meant that food came very quickly. The staff are always helpful and friendly even when they are busy. The food is always great but the Sunday roasts are particularly good and my son loves the curries. The pies are lovely too and there are decent vegetarian options. There is a nice garden at the front and parking in the front and back of the pub. We think the White Hart is fabulous and would recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely, reasonably priced meal.

Today we had ten n our family Sunday roast party but disappointed this time as the beef being chewy and tough. Yorkshire puddings also overcooked. The lamb 2 people had was good. Bit sad as it was our grandaughters 16th birthday too. Mcdonalds

Unfortunately I can't write a review about the Cottage in the grounds of this great pub as it doesn't have a listing. We have just returned from a week in the Cottage and I can not praise it enough. It has everything needed to make you comfortable and the owners run the adjoining Pub. The pub is a gem in its self. It has good real ale and a superb menu. The staff are helpful and friendly and the service is second to none. We ate in the pub for 7 days, the menu was so varied that have a dish twice. The food was fresh, well cooked and always hot. They do a great Sunday roast and Monday is £6 Curry Night, a real bargain. Well done to Dan for running a good honest pub and the Cottage is great as well.

Went in looking for some food with friends, many empty tables (in honesty we arrived an hour before food was served but were happy to have a drink first and wait) but upon entering, we were ignored and then when greeted by the bar lady, it was ‘are you lost?!’. No nice welcome at all. We asked for a table for 5 just to be given a shaken head as no. We looked round at all the empty tables (in and outside) and was then told no we’re fully booked. Hard to believe but we went elsewhere instead. Very rude and made to feel not welcome at all, maybe as we weren’t local. But no attempt to even try and seat us for a drink and see how they could possibly fit us in. Perhaps some training needed.

The pub is the last of the proper old school pubs with friendly and well trained staff. It was extremely busy with the restaurant taken up by a 70th Birthday party. Despite the amount of people we got our meal on time and piping hot. The food was excellent and the whole experience was enjoyable. We really couldn't fault it.
