Came today with my dad for breakfast, he said it was the nicest breakfast he’s had. The staff were fantastic, went out to get him mustard when they realised they didn’t have any. Thanks so much, was a lovely morning, piping hot drinks which is what you want with great service and food. Definitely recommend.

Have lived in Bexhill for many years but only just got around to dining in Cavells, wish I hadn’t left it so long. Excellent service, reasonable prices, lovely unpretentious cafe style food and dog friendly to boot. What’s not to like? Will certainly be back.

Worst meal I've ever had came out cold with congealed gravy heated up in microwave but still horrible was not charged for my meal in end been there many times before it just shows your only as good as your last meal will not be returning in any time soon

Hired Cavells to hold a 60th birthday lunch here earlier this month. All who attended said how much they enjoyed the food and service. Gina, Danielle and the rest of the team were very attentive.

Very friendly staff, lovely and clean inside. Hot food until 3pm, we came a little late so had a cake instead and coffee. The cake is delicious, great portion size and fresh cream, fruit. Really good prices. Highly recommended

A lovely little cafe that actually serves good quality cafe food. Homemade cakes and other homemade items compete for your attention from an extensive menu. There are also specials on the boards. You can have a cream tea or a te mex burrito, make your choice Or just enjoy a genuine Italian coffee All at good prices

Absolute belter of a cafe. Dog friendly, staff can't do enough for you and prices are very reasonable. Went to Bistro Pierre Eastbourne yesterday, and they could learn a lot from this place, it was twice the price with rude service.

I would highly recommend this restaurant in Bexhill, lovely food, friendly staff and the best omelette in town! Also the steak sandwich was amazing, we will definitely be returning.

Clean friendly place. Food a bit underwhelming, eggs overcooked and toast so hard couldn't cut crusts.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, quite busy but still a few tables available. Had to wait 15 minutes before anyone came over to take order. Drinks arrived quickly but it took another 40 minutes before main lunch arrived. Sausages and mash. Sausages delicious but veg was cold and cauliflower still frozen. Mash potato was luke warm and onion gravy had no onion and again was luke warm. In hindsight should have said something but staff were so busy it was difficult to get their attention.

Incredibly friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. I was offered extra tomatoes and toast as I didn’t have the egg. Most cafes don’t offer extra stuff to vegans in my experience. Really warm, clean and welcoming. The staff knew the names of several patrons and greeted them like old friends. Will be going back anytime I’m in Bexhill.

The service was excellent and the lady who served us was very pleasant.We ordered a small breakfast.The food was tasty and just the right amount! Thank you -would definitely recommend.

Nice cafe can be pricey Fish finger sandwich was cheap fish fingers and very soggy. M&S do a better one.

We used to go to Cavells whenever we visited Bexhill and this was our first time since moving to their next place. We loved the new look and the atmosphere as we entered. Someone promptly asked what we would like to drink which was fulfilled quite quickly. We then decided to order some food. Despite me husband raising his hand calling out 4 times to staff as they went past to get service, none was forthcoming. We ended up finishing our drink and going elsewhere for food. We left very disappointed and feeling that the facelift came at the cost the service that we used to get. Such a shame and won't be in a hurry to return.

It used to be our tradition to go to Cavells every Saturday for breakfast. We loved the charm of the old style cafe and the food was delicious and plentiful. Today was my first visit back to Cavells since it moved to the old Trattoria restaurant and what a huge disappointment. The vibe the old cafe used to have no longer exists and it gives you no reason to want to linger for more coffee or cake. The portion sizes have decreased but the prices have gone up which sadly is not justified by the quality of food which is barely average. There are much better cafes in town that warrant spending time and money in and I will be frequenting these ones in future.

Really nice coffee shop with a fair choice of meals at average prices, Staffed by very friendly and hard working staff, ensuring it is clean. The coffee was OK and the Victoria Sponge cake was 10/10. Nice touch to see them putting out water for dogs. There was an outside table for those who prefer.

First time using Cavells and it was a really enjoyable experience. Good value, lovely surroundings and the staff were very good

Visited here this morning with my family for breakfast as we were in the area. The food was really lovely and accommodating. The facilities were great including being dog friendly and having baby changing and high chairs available. Apologies for any mess made from my baby throwing food out of the high chair!! Highly recommend this place, staff were very friendly and lovely.

Cavell's has changed some what since I visited it years ago. It is now more an Italian deli. That said if you love to cook Your own Italian food then this is the place to visit in Bexhill.

Pleasant, friendly staff and clean and comfortable seating areas. The rest room was also very clean. I ordered take out tuna baguette, which was slow to arrive, but very tasty, so no complaints. I sat and ate it by the beach.

A really varied choice of food on the menu. We had the cauliflower and red pepper curry, which was most tasty and good portion size. The cafe appears to be quite small, but there are other seating areas - we sat in the covered outside section. Very good service and very good value for money. A real treasure in Bexhill amidst a lot of chain restaurants and bijou ones whose prices are a bit ott.

I arrived at just after 7.30 in search of some breakfast. A man sweeping up outside directed me in but then a second man came out literally shouting that they did not open until 8am - he was very rude and unpleasant in his manner...

Just a good solid classic cafe - a good range of food, well made and sensibly priced. Soya milk and veggie options. Staff are helpful and friendly.The place is clean and tidy. Cash only, but a mild inconvenience with four banks in the same street.

Warm friendly welcome from staff, lots of lovely fresh cakes & pasties to choose from. Be advised they take cash only at this coffee shop, as I found out. However the waitress let me place my order while I went to get the cash ( cash point at Santander) We ordered coffee x2 a huge piece of cake ( white chocolate & raspberry) delicious and a Belgian bun for £8.95 Cafe was lovely and clean, toilets on site (respectable) Full menu with lots of choices to choose from, vegetarian options available but no vegan. My wife and I visited this establishment whilst on holiday. We were impressed with the the very friendly and helpful service, and their particular attention to hygiene. Their menu includes options for vegetarians but as vegans we were somewhat limited in our menu choice. We opted for chips with beans and tomatoes which proved to be a good choice and which we really enjoyed. The value was excellent.Vegan numbers are escalating as more of us become aware of the terrible sufferings of animals reared for meat and dairy products. We wonder whether an additional vegan option could be added to the menu such as ratatouille or perhaps a curry or chilli?

At the French market as a stall holder this little find was amazing breakfast was great coffees and milkshake was lush and cheese scones were well nice. Kids loved it and said this is better than our usual cafe. We will be back

We only wanted a cup of tea and a fizzy drink at 16.10 to be curtly told “we shut at half past four” Ok I know people want to get home etc but we weren’t after a roast dinner and all the trimmings! It’s little things just like that, that make me loathe to ever want to return. How silly is that, bit of staff training needed there I guess

This is a fairly basic cafe that did me a good cup of tea at a reasonable price. The cherry scones looked excellent and were huge.

This cafe is small but welcoming, the staff are polite and friendly and seem happy in their work. We had lovely toasted sandwiches served on thick tasty bread brimming with filling, not like some we've experienced which have thin bread and are boringly tasteless. The coffee was pretty good too. Many of the diners were obviously regulars as on entering the cafe they were greeted with enthusiasm which is testaments to the overall ambiance of the place, if I lived in the area this would be my cafe of choice when shopping and in needs of refreshment. Well done Cavells.

Excellent food well cooked and plenty of choice. Staff really friendly and we were so impressed with the welcome they gave us at lunch time we went back in the afternoon again for a cream tea. Well done Sandra and Ali you made our day. (the SCONE gang)

Nice food and plenty of variety, good prices and very friendly people. Just right for a cold, windy February and not too far from the seafront.

Very enjoyable breakfast, my husband had the big breakfast and it lived up to its name. I had the small breakfast and it was more than enough for me. Nice toast, not the cheap thin bread but substantial slices. I did notice someone had scrambled egg instead of fried and I wish I had thought to ask as I gave my husband my egg. Noticed on the menu they do a breakfast omelette which sounded very tasty. Next time will have a different coffee and pay more as I like a latte. All in all very enjoyable look forward to going again.

We normally pop into Cavell's for a coffee but this time it was for lunch. Delicious Veggie Lasagne with Garlic Bread and at a very good price. Food was very tasty, piping hot and looked home-made. The staff were very friendly and it was clearly evident that there were a lot of regulars, which is always a good sign. Nice selection of lunch dishes available plus daily specials so will definitely pay them a visit next time we are in Bexhill.

This place doesn’t look all that much from the outside but when you go in you find it is much more modern and attractive than you’d expect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and speedily delivered and very reasonably priced. There were a lot of other customers and they all seemed very happy with their food too. This place was also doing takeaway coffee etc for walk in customers.

Have been here a few times. Always good cakes and tea. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Chairs could be a bit more comfortable.

This is a friendly with a good menu, reasonable prizes and delicious coffee. We had two nice sandwiches and two slices of cake, both of which were nicely presented and a generous portion.

Dropped in for a coffe and sandwich, I settled for a plain ham on brown bread and wasn't dusppinted.Not your usual 'fluffy' bread but a good quality brown with generous filling and a side salad. It was nice to see mixed lettuce, along with tomato and cucumber.The array of cakes was very tempting but I managed to resist - this time! The menu was bigger than I expected with lots of choice and specials twice a week.A great place to chat, meet friends and just chill

Cavells offers excellent cafe fare,hosted by a charming welcoming manageress,who knows her regular clientele and their requirements intimately. This little gem is a down to earth seaside cafe, no pretension or window dressing,just plain wholesome food.Allday breakfast,fish and chips,sandwiches etc.

We calling in when the place was busy, it as a great, a nice happy place to eat. Not expensive, clean fast service.As a footnote, we are now collecting 50 pence coins, the staff know who we are, the old four people from London, Thank You

We visited this small cafe early morning for breakfast. The place was clean and we were able to sit with our dog in the window seats.The service was exemplary, not just to us as new clients but to regulars as well. The staff were helpful, friendly and considerate to everyone's needs.The food was freshly cooked, tasty and hot. My wife had the vegetarian option of breakfast which she enjoyed very much and my large full English was excellent. Both meals were inclusive of tea or coffee and excellent value.We will certainly be returning when we are in the area again.

Visiting Bexhill for the first time, needing gluten free lunch and not fish eaters, we were pleased to come across this cafe - after checking many others.A proper, old fashioned cafe - we ordered ham and chips for my (low gluten partner) and I had a bacon and stilton toasted sandwich, both came with salad very quickly! Hot, tasty food at good prices.Everyone that came in was greeted and nothing seemed too much trouble, it felt like a "locals" place where people regularly go. Tables were cleared immediately and cleaned.
