Had sunday carvery.every thing was perfect, The honey roast parsnips were to. die for Will be going again for Christmas meal.🎄

We all know Bexhill isn't home to that many pubs, so it is great that there is a carvery in town. It is well thought out with individual tongs, with all the trimmings and as many trips to the veg as you please. I have been here a few times and used to love the atmosphere, its just a shame to come in for your roast and listen to Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift, surrounded by fake plants...not the usual Sunday wholesome feel you expect, it could be a really classy venue.

Overall we had a very good experience at the Sackville. Cold plates, a pet hate of mine, was the only thing that dropped a star. Well worth a visit.

A great setting for an informal meeting. Superb food and excellent service

Over the last 3 years it has gone downhill big time sadly. Poor service by untrained young stuff, mediocre at best wines hugely overpriced, food not worth mentioning..Salad unwashed, straight out of packet, no dressing, greek style chicken skewers with sweet chilli sauce!! Who comes up with the menu??? Dirty, unpeeled potatoes... Sunday roast was the only good thing left but even that is not good either. Tough, sinewy meat.. We are charged, every single time, for something we didn't have!! You really need to check your bill there. Such a shame.. Used to be so much better.. Another disappointing place in a great location... Not even good for going for a drink anymore... One wine on the list, another served to us.. So many times.. I don't like writing bad reviews and never do... But we only learn from constructive criticism. Hopefully.

Cold food. Took 35 mins to be delivered from collection a distance only 10 mins on bus so was cold and ice cream melted.

The food was amazing, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. I would have loved to have given a 5 star review but unfortunately we were met with a rather rude member of staff who we observed to also be rude to other people and when she was on the phone to customers. The younger staff on shift however were fantastic, polite well mannered and friendly.

Great place for Sunday Roast/Carvery and all the trommings. Very generous portions and self serve veg ( I'm afraid eyes were too big for my belly but still managed an ice cream sundae yum!). Indoor and outdoor seating very busy and popular. Would really recommend for scrummy Sunday roast.

We sat outside it was a bit windy but it was a lovely meal the staff were friendly and helpful I'm hoping to go back next month

My veggie burger was yum, and my husband loooved his meaty burger... it looked gorgeous! Everything was so carefully and beautifully presented, from the way it was packaged, to the cool little bun stamp. The delivery driver found us easily, too :)

Have been here many times before but this time the starter was served with no cutlery to eat it, the lamb shanks and all vegetables were barely warm. Sent it back for a reheat and they didn’t return cutlery so had to get them from next table. The sauce to lamb shanks was lumpy, the bottle of wine was plonked on table unopened with two glasses, the table we were sat at was so small and uncomfortable with two great pillars next to it that we asked to be moved. We then had no choice but to sit next to a window with all light blocked out by a staircase and a motorbike. I emailed The Sackville regarding the dreadful evening we had but they didn’t have the courtesy to reply.

Took my mother for her birthday lunch. Service was excellent. She thoroughly enjoyed it.

This place is a gem. An amazing Sunday roast, friendly staff, and perfect in the summertime when you can sit outside. I definitely recommend.

I went on Tues early evening with my partner. Ordered fish and chips. The fish was saturated in oil. It's was disgusting so I complained and had chicken kebab instead that was cold and took 40 mins to arrive. The service was appalling. I won't be going back.

A bit disappointed but it could have just been an off day for them. My steak on a hot slate was really disappointing. The slate didn't stay hot enough to do the job.

As the visit was for a wedding reception the place was closed for a private function. The food was a hot buffet and really quite good.

Delighted to have found this place. Excellent menu, food tasty and enough of it. but I can imagine it can get very busy at times. Will return when in the area again.

Arrived and the bag was covered in gravy then when opened the food was freezing cold and covered in a cheese sauce which it does not state it will have on the menu otherwise I would have declined as I’m not able to eat dairy products. Really disappointed with this as it was such a waste of a roast dinner.

Me and my family came down to see my mum we were told this was a lovely venue but, the service just took forever, we arrived at 2:30 and didn’t revive our drinks until 3:10 While the inside of the restaurant was completely empty. The food was okay, what a shame.

Today I ordered through just eat spent £20’,said it got delivered which it didn’t when I phoned was greeted by a extremely rude and insulting female manager who said they hadn’t sent the food ,when ordering in the past spending £20 each week they have sent meals missing items and done nothing about it !!!! Extremely rude staff and a disgusting service I’d think very very very carefully about eating/ordering from here it’s not a good place trust, please note the owner has now “accused “ me of lying saying im making up I’m missing items in past orders ,umm 🤔🤔I’ve had several meals from there where they have left items out of my roast ,I’m not nasty and my reviews are honest !!! Update !!! Today the owner messaged me stating he’s warning other restaurants not to accept orders from me cause my reviews are false , if u order from here your Sunday roasts will arrive missing items

Ordered mixed roast no carrots but got beef roast, lots of carrots! Tasted really good. Tried to report this but it looks like it thinks the whole order is missing and not just the extra £1 I paid.

Went here for the first time to celebrate mother's day...it certainly won't be the last. Had a,fabulous carvery dinner which was fresh, hot and plentiful. We all really enjoyed the friendly staff and atmosphere. Thank you very much. Until the next time..see you soon.

My family held a wake here for my dad. This was his favourite place in Bexhill to go for dinner and so we chose it for the wake. They did not disappoint and in fact were amazing throughout. The staff were efficient and helpful. The buffet was superb. Plenty of comfortable seating and they allowed us to take anything we wanted such as pictures and flowers. Lianne was especially fantastic, so attentive, and ensuring we had all we need. My family would highly recommend this place for a private function as well as for lunch/dinner

Lovely food great staff a little on the cold side. Main meals were all outstanding but unfortunately the desserts were a bit disappointing overall nice place for birthday meal staff were very friendly and professional a credit to the restaurant.

Average food. Average beer. Nice outside seating. Unfortunately, generally the outside seating is full of locals swearing, especially in the summer. Eating out in Bexhill is a real challenge. You are better off heading to Hastings or st Leonard’s I’m afraid.

Really enjoyed the food. Inside has a fairly modern design. Interesting wall of plastic plants. I really liked it. Outside space is huge - recommend this for the summer.

Food is great and staff super friendly and helpful.

We were a party of 15, celebrating a birthday party. The table layout was ridiculous. I had to shuffle across the seat to my place on my knees, as we were crammed against a wall. We were given an L shaped configuration which meant that it was difficult to talk to others across the tables. We had to pull tables out to allow people to get in and out. The food was nice, but I will not be going back.

Only 10mins later than requested. Acceptable.

Time was a little later than expected however I did order a 3 meat roast dinner so I didn’t mind slightly extra wait.

Went for my birthday 2 days before Christmas. Table was set for a birthday celebration, rather than Christmas which was a really thoughtful touch. Service and food were great. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would throughly recommend.

The food was good and so was the service, but the admin. left a lot to be desired.

Lovely atmosphere, staff were very attentive although very busy. Food was excellent but a bit slow due to being busy but we didn’t mind. Only had 2 hrs at the parking do the delay impacted on that but that was our problem not theirs. I had special dietary needs and they dealt with it no problem.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, served by friendly and helpful staff. Booking recommended as it is popular. Not our visit and won't be our last.

Booked Christmas meal which was serve luke warm. Some of the vegatables were burnt and hard and the venue was not heated.

There were 21 of us, such a number is always something of a challenge for kitchen and waiting staff but the team at Sackville Bistro had it all under control! Menu offered 4 choices for each course, very well balanced and varied - traditional, vegetarian, lighter, heavy. We pre-ordered our meals which made for fast, slick and friendly food service as we were ID'd by name. Food was excellent, generous portions, served hot and beautifully presented; my roast turkey was amongst the best I've ever had in a restaurant. A festive atmosphere without being OTT. A great success.

Me , my partner and my parents whent here on saterday night the staff was very pleasant and helpfull. We all enjoyed are meals all full of flavour and the presentation was great. I personally recommend the steak ot comes out on a hot stone so you can cook cuts to your exact tast. Also a delicious irish coffee at the end of the meal the bar man was very nice.

Went here for a meal before a gig at the De La Warr down the road. Was impressed with the place as soon as we walked in, decor was nice and the lady who served us was lovely. For a starter I had the fried courgettes. They were battered and crispy on the outside with the courgettes still juicy in the middle and the aioli they were served with went really well. The batter was reminiscent of what you might expect to find on fish, it was crispy and fluffy on the inside. It could have done with some seasoning though, and I used a lot of salt and pepper to make it palatable. I then had the chickpea and pepper burger. Not something I’d usually order, but it was crispy and spiced up in all the right ways. All the accompaniments were fresh and the bun was nice and toasty. The fries were really well seasoned as well. It was only after this that our visit went a little down hill. It was a bit busier by this juncture, but not busy enough to warrant taking 20 minutes to clear our plates and offer us a dessert menu. At one point I even made eye contact and waved at one of the waitresses in the hope she’d come over. She smiled and waved back before walking in the opposite direction. When we were given the dessert menus and ordered the crumble was very warming and comforting. However, my crumble had 2 shards of plastic within which weren’t very pleasant to bite in to and find. These things happen I suppose, but it’s not what I expect from a restaurant. I would have pointed this out to the serving team, but we needed to head on to our gig so we paid at the bar and left. I’d have no qualms about coming back again if I was going to another gig, but make sure to be wary of time if you want anything more than just a main.

The beef was chewy and stringy and it wasn’t very warm. Sorry but won’t order again.

Unbelievably, considering I eat out a lot and live locally, this was my first time here, for dinner with 3 friends that recommended we come. A beautifully decorated restaurant inside, impeccable service. The terrace outside will be lovely when the weather behaves. Our party chose the hanging chicken skewers, wild boar and apple sausages and the chicken pie. All beautifully cooked and presented, with a selection of rosemary fries, mashed potato, salads or veg. We cleared our plates. Chocolate brownie and the caramel apple crumble were our desserts. Again, really really tasty. Staff were friendly and efficient. Parking is ample, either very reasonable or free after 6pm. Fab venue, great chef and our nxt group get together has already been agreed to be there. Carvery menu looks good too. Keep doing what you're doing. It's fab! Thank you

Nice restaurant in Bexhill with a good atmosphere.

Great food and service. My only issue is with a machine which was used, maybe ice crushing, but it was too noisy.

Great but could be better. Went for Sunday carvery and the choice of meat and veg was great as was the meat portion size. The only issue was the temperature of the vegetables which were generally not warm at all. The potatoes, stuffing and yorkshires were fine but just not the veg. Could definitely be better.

We went here for dinner with my husband and his parents for a birthday celebration. My husband and I are vegetarians and were initially impressed with the options on the menu. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli and my husband ordered the wild mushroom pie. We waited 50 minutes for our mains to arrive and were really disappointed. The ravioli was 1000% shop bought and so mushy and overdone. The pie was anaemic, underdone and was freezing on the inside, indicating it was a frozen pie. My in-laws were happy with their beef burgers but we sent both of ours back and asked for a fish and chips and a baked Camembert instead. We waited another 30 mins for our replacement food. I politely spoke with the staff who, to be honest were all too young to know how to deal with a complaint. One girl just kept repeating “yeah, it’s coming” (when it wasn’t). In the meantime, the table next to us also ordered the pie and sent it back, complaining of the same thing that we did. The replacement food arrived… The fish was a tiny SLAB of food. It was definitely a 2 pack frozen fish fillet, there’s no doubt in my mind. The ‘mushy, minted peas’ were just wrinkly garden peas… The manager ended up arriving from another restaurant to chat with us. She explained that she also thought the pie was awful and she said they were trying to improve for vegetarians. She spoke in detail about how much she hated the vegetarian dishes, which we thought was a really weird thing to say to customers. They ended up giving us the whole bill for free, which to me shows that they were in agreement on how bad our experience was… Overall, this place is a huge disappointment. I would never return.

Great Sunday meal at the bistro. It is good to know you can go a bit later. Today I had the daily choice Seabass and it was very good.

Rude staff that refused to seat us despite there being at least 15 free tables. We’d been a week before and was told it was for walk ins only. We even asked to wait until past the table bookings for if the 15 tables didn’t show up (which they didn’t as we did wait) and we were still refused. Never felt so discriminated against in my life. Absolutely no reason for such rudeness. Do not try to go here as you’re likely to get turned away for reasons I can only assume are related to how we looked or my race.

We have been here several times and have always had a brilliant experience. The food is excellent and hot which makes a change! The manageress in particular I take my hat off to as she is so in control under so much stress. The staff are very friendly and obliging. Would definitely recommend if you want a delicious Sunday lunch

Great beach, has board/boat/sunbed hire. Crystal water for snorkeling, slightly sloping so perfect for swimming. Prom has lots and lots of good restaurants .. definitely be back!

My grandchildren opt for this restaurant for a Sunday carvery whenever they are asked .Today was no exception. Food lovely,staff great but today other diners lack of respect marred it. We were eating when a group of older people grouped together (I think to pay)close to our table. They leant on the back of my grandsons chair then on another of our family,they both moved their chairs in but they moved and continued to use it. A member of staff noticed and asked them very politely to move away they did but we later learnt they complained about the staff member.i want to ensure that this member of staff knows that we appreciated her intervention and she was very polite to them. We were compensated,( we didn't ask) so thank you. Without doubt we will return.

We visited the Sackville Bistro today for lunch and could not have had a better experience. We were seated on the terrace to enjoy the sunshine and the seaview. The service was very good and attentive. In particular our waitress Jess made some excellent recommendations and was very helpful with the wine list and menu. I ordered the Tomahawk steak special, which was amazing, a real treat. My wife had a perfectly cooked Hake dish, and we followed up with delicious desserts. I cannot rate our visit more highly. We will be back!!

Terribly slow service. An hour after our order, we were told a dish was off the menu. Then mains arrived but no starters. Must have been a major problem in the kitchen.

Food was lovely, HOWEVER... why is sweetcorn not mentioned as an ingredient. Ordered chickpea and red pepper burger, lots of other things mentioned but not sweetcorn, of which there was quite alot.

What happened? It used to be so nice here. But on a sunny evening, it seemed drab and lacklustre.. Went for a light dinner on a relatively quiet night. Staff seemed bored and uninterested. I didn't get a napkin with my knife and fork, had to go inside to get it. Was brought mayo when I had asked for mustard. Food was awful. Battered squid could have been anything, in fact I doubt there was even any squid in it. £4.50 for two spoonfuls of coldslaw. I don't mind paying for good food, but this is ridiculous. Great for a drink on the terrace, but expect slow service and give the food a miss.

Love this place, so nice outside on a summer evening,lovely food but so slow after seating to get a drink. We like to go out , have a drink to review the menu, not do it all at once. Went this evening, after sitting there about 15 mins on a pre booked table, had to go inside to order drinks because no one came to ask. Definitely need more staff but understand that employing staff is not always easy. This is not the first time and we will be there again.

Along with three friends we went for the Sunday carvery which was excellent with a great choice of meat and large portions (we had a slice of each of the meats on offer) we waited over 30 minutes for everyone to get a drink. Such a shame as we have always had such good service in the past.

We had an amazing lunch yesterday- the staff were all friendly and attentive and the food delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend the halloumi burger - absolutely delicious

Waited an hour and 20 mins for food. Asked for water...had to go and get it myself....asked for ice waited ages. Not impressed with service at all. Food OK. But menu needs to be changed. Beautiful surroundings...shame about service. Went recently for carvery was not hot at all. Think I shall give it a miss from now on .

Good food, varied enough to have something for everyone, small enough to trust it's all done well! All the meals are fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. Some of my favourites include the brioche garlic bread, slow cooked pork belly and I also often choose the fish of the day which has never disappointed! I have been here many times with friends, family, out of towners... we love the terrace and the staff are always friendly and helpful. One of the best in Bexhill.

Enjoyable food but way too expensive for the portion sizes delivered...which was over an hour late. Sadly won't be ordering again.

Sunday carvery great value good quality food, excellent service. Went for family celebration and thoroughly enjoyed. Staff were so helpful and pleasant especially Dexter and Molly . Convenient spot by the sea with plenty of parking.Will definitely br back.

What can I say me and my wife had our wedding reception here and it was amazing. The manager and the owner of the sackville bistro went above and beyond everyone that attended had a lovely time and everyone all night couldn't speak highly enough...

Went to have a carvery with my mum who is disabled. The food was lovely and the staff were amazing. The waiter Dexter was so helpful, he came and helped me carry our plates and went above and beyond. We will definitely be returning
