Whilst the service was very good the food could have been better. The rare sirloin steak was small and was 30% fat and gristle. Admittedly they did exchange it after a discussion. I heard later that the chef was leaving and the restaurant may be returning to an upmarket Tea Shop!!

Fantastic find in Rye. Hit a jackpot. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Had a cheese soufflé as a starter and a sea bass as main. Great taste and flavour. I was very satisfied. The service was great as well. Totally recommend!

We always go for Sunday lunch and the standard of food and service is always outstanding. So good to see a young team showing exactly how it should be done. We can’t wait to go back.

From the booking to paying the bill this was a pleasurable experience with welcoming and helpful staff. We chose the table we wanted. The meal comes with those nice little additions - amuse bouche and petits fours. There was also my favourite sign of a good restaurant, white napery. All of the food we had was excellent so I won't pick out anything in particular. It was all beautifully presented and delicious. The wine list was adequate and the wine we had very good.in correct and sparkling glasses. The restaurant is slightly hidden away but well worth seeking out - give it a try when you're in Rye!

Food, service is good but the atmosphere is just lovely - it is located in the lovely village of Rye, and has an extensive menu including vegetarian options. But I liked the old style of the house in which the restaurant is located as it has an old world feeling to it.

The service was truly exceptional, making our first night in Rye unforgettable. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond, creating a dining experience that felt incredibly special. Their attentiveness throughout the evening was flawless. The food was not only delicious but presented with such artistry, and it was wonderful to know that the fish had been freshly caught that very day. The wine was exquisite, perfectly complementing the meal. We’ve cherished the memory ever since, and we would gladly return to Rye just for the chance to dine there again!

We visited with our family who have food intolerances/allergies. The restaurant staff were amazing and catered for every one and adapted food to suit all. They all went above and beyond to make sure our evening went well and that everyone had a great time. Loved it. Fancy in all the right ways. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and it's a lovely building. I especially liked the fact that they checked we were happy about the service charge being added, which we definitely were.

Fabulous experience of wonderful delicious food with some delicious amuse bouche too. Helpful friendly service and great menu. My skate was just amazing washed down with excellent wine. Hubby wanted plaice with different accompaniments and they were very happy to oblige. Ambience is gorgeous. Overall a wonderful evening.

Central location, beautiful building and intern decoration, impeccable service, tasty and easy to the eye food. Fair price all considering. The only thing that was a bit tricky for the staff it was my issue with dairies, they kindly adapted a fish main taking out the dairy, and it was still very nice. There was no dessert without ice cream or cheese in it so they had to find a creative solution, it was not the best but good enough. Would be nice to consider different dietary restrictions in a menu with maybe one dish for each category as vegan or dairy free, very easy to make, so different people can have it.

We have eaten here many times and the food, service and ambience are the best in Rye. We are locals and fully appreciate our wonderful restaurants but Fletchers is just special.

Our first visit to this welcoming, efficiently run restaurent with excellent staff and a great menu and wine list. The food is amazing, the wine list offers interesting and well priced options, including "English" champagne and, unusually, dessert wines.

Cannot fault the service but we really were surprised at the food. Wall to wall 5 star reviews, mention of deserving a Michelin star had us expecting a treat. Unfortunately every element of the food was underwhelming. Underseasoned and bland, the plaice was pappy and tasted like a frozen ready meal. The Pativier bisque was lacking in punch and again bland, same with lamb. On speaking to the excellent manager he pointed out nobody else had criticised the food that evening , valid point but I do caution people who want flavoursome, well seasoned to maybe look elsewhere.

We won a stay for a week in 'Four Boys' house next to the Church which has a view into Fletchers House rear patio restaurant. Went there to dine and drink. Owners are very accommodating even when the place is heaving. Recommend the mixed platters. Nice experience.

WOW , this restaurant was a good find for us, lovely setting down a cobbled street next to the church, nicely decorated inside. We like fine dining and Fletchers certainly delivered just that. greeted by such warm and friendly staff, shown to our table and ordered drinks and up came 6 little canapes, you think that was a nice touch, then along came an amuse-bouche of a cold tomato and pesto coup served in a tiny tea cup served with a small sliced loaf and salted butter on the side. I ordered cheese soufflé for starter wishing I had saved some bread for this course, but greedy guts me had already polished that off. I then opted for the pan fried Skate served with mash and spinach in lemon and caper sauce. ( hold the capers for me pls). no room for dessert I'm afraid. prices were really good. 2 courses and a bottle of wine for 2, just under £100. happy days. If you are looking for fine dining, great food served with a lovely smile, this is your place.

Incredible meal. Fantastic service.

We visited last night (Saturday) on our weekend away in Rye, and the meal was the highlight of the trip! The food was amazing, and we were pleasantly surprised that the food did not stop coming, and every course was as delicious as the last- we’d recommend the duck starter and the pearl barley risotto! The service is what really made the meal though, all of the staff were so friendly and genuinely interested in ensuring that we were enjoying our time in Rye. Overall, we’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a great meal and excellent service!

We had an exceptionally good lunch there. The decor on the ground floor was smart and conducive, and the staff were polite, professional and attentive. The food was excellent, with every dish well cooked and nicely presented. We were offered tasty amuse-bouches to start with, followed by delicious home-baked bread. Overall, it was such a good find, and we’ll definitely be back.

Wow, wow, wow. This place is so special and what really gives it 5 stars is the management James and the team. Having studied hotel and catering for 4 years although not working in that industry- service is really important to me and at Fletchers they mix professionalism with warm kind hearts. The service is outstanding- they make you feel so welcome. It was a big birthday and all we could talk about after being there was the many ways, things they did and said that made us all give it 5 stars. The food was beautifully presented and equally delicious. The bathroom well it’s amazing and none of us thought of grabbing a photo. It is fine dinning with the utmost care given to every detail. To James your team are a credit to you warm, lovely friendly girls who knew their menu and made us feel like queens. We will never forget our lovely dinning experience and I can’t wait to visit again. Well done and thank you

We recently went here to celebrate our anniversary and could not have been more happy with our choice, it was perfect. The service was very friendly, professional and the food was well presented and tasted delicious. Highly recommend.

I’m normally sceptical of #1 rated restaurants but this one delivered on all levels and deserves its top spot. The welcome was friendly and with canapés followed by soup you could hardly fail to have a lovely evening. The duck and plaice were really well cooked and the cheese plate was full of good local cheeses. Well worth a visit for a special evening.

A most amazing birthday lunch.First time here via recommendation and did not disappoint. Exceptional food and amazing service with some very lovely personal touches. Lovely outside area for pre drinks. We will be back . Absolutely loved this place ❤️

Another outstanding Sunday lunch at FH. The level of quality and service always remains at the highest level. Went for the 2 course lunch, so started with the lamb followed by the roast pork and trimmings. Never have room for dessert so go straight to the coffee to finish. My wife had the skate and said it was excellent. There’s a reason this place is rated #1 of over 60 restaurants in Rye. Unfortunately as the designated driver a small glass of Merlot was all I could have. If it’s a sunny day don’t forget to have a quick cocktail out the back in the small courtyard.

Went here for our wedding anniversary. These guys know how to make cocktails. The venue had a small, swish rather glamorous cocktail bar and the cocktails were Excellent. The restaurant was charming full of character as you might expect from a medieval building. The food delicious and service wonderful which really made our day all the more special!

We booked the Oaken Room for 11 of us to celebrate a birthday, everything was perfect - from the canapes, to the appetiser and the main courses and desserts - all well presented and the menu was based on seasonal ingredients, it was all delicious will definitely dine at Fletcher's again the service was excellent too - thank you so much for such a special experience.

Fantastic meal at Fletchers house. The three course menu for £35 was great value, even more so with the amuses bouche, soup and petit fours they added in. We had a private room upstairs (good call on their part, as we were a very chatty group of friends!) and it was perfect. Staff were all lovely - can’t fault it. Also they were excellent at accommodating needs of people who need gluten free food, staff were knowledgable about what needed to be changed with no fuss.

A really exceptional meal. The whole experience was well thought through from the moment diners walk in. Service was quiet and unfussy and someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing!

Reluctant to leave a good review and ruin my chances of getting a table when we're back next time. This gem should be booked out every night and cued out the door so enjoy this restaurant before Michelin find out. Service was very attentive, friendly and accommodating. It's great to never have an empty glass infront of you. Food was one of the best meals I've had in the UK, and easily the best value for money I have had. I Recommend washing it down with one of there posh pornstar cocktails. Complimentary canapés and soup before your starters is a fantastic touch. 5/5 or 10/10 whatever you prefer we loved this place.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating my husband’s birthday. Rhubarb and Custard cocktails ( you have to try it -believe me) in the upstairs cocktail bar to begin. Sat on the golden thrones - very camp but fun! Food and wine fabulous. What a gem. We loved it. Excellent customer service - if only we were locals we would be regulars.

We found this restaurant on tripadvisor and it certainly did not disappoint . We had the tasting menu which was delicious and very good value for money . All the staff were really lovely and friendly . Definitely worth a visit . Book in advance though .

There’s a reason why this place is rated #1 in Rye. Service is superb, atmosphere is great, food is sublime. We went for the Sunday menu. Loads of options. Nice canapés, outstanding soup, beautiful duck parfait and perfectly cooked beef. What more could you ask for? Couple of bottles of Curious Brew Lager and a bottle of Spanish Rose. All delicious. All very fairly priced. Staff knew their stuff, especially the wines. I’ll be back soon.

What an absolute gem! We have been to Rye many times but understand Fletchers was a tea room before and had not been inside. We booked it for this evening and it surpassed all expectations. The staff were all young but clearly experienced. The restaurant seems quite high end which can mean the staff are all over you but they had the balance spot on. Friendly,helpful and just attentive enough. I have a food allergy and was expertly catered for. We ordered the salmon tartare and the wasabi sorbet with it was delicious. Also the duck starter with 3 different duck elements was very tasty. Mains were panko pork belly with scallops and the chicken wrapped in pancetta. All perfectly cooked and the sauces were gorgeous. To finish we had the Tonka bean panacotta and the cheese plate. The homemade oat and honey biscuits with the cheese plate were fantastic. We could happily have eaten a plate of those alone! The unexpected hors d’ouevres followed by soup and bread to start was a great touch,plus petit fours with coffee-the marshmallow was like eating a tiny cloud. Genuinely there is not a single thing to complain about and we can’t wait to return. Unbelievably reasonable prices for top quality food and drink. I must also applaud the alcohol-free selection. Several ‘grown up’ mocktails and a couple of other beer and gin choices on the menu. Very thoughtful. I urge you to visit Fletchers if you’re in Rye-you won’t be disappointed!

We came here not knowing what to expect. It was Christmas Eve and not much was open. The service is top notch, as was the food. The menu was quite creative and the overall experience was good. This is the kind of restaurant you go to if you have time and you appreciate detail. It was certainly the best Christmas dinner I've had in years.

Anne and I ate here in mid Janaury. An amazing 5 star experience from the quality and size of the protions to the service. Eating out a lot in London, we felt the price was understated for the quality.

Delightful canapés and a tiny but perfect celeriac soup were served 'on the house'. Lots of us had either scallop starters (with gorgeous wasabi sorbet) or mains which were just sublime. Portion sizes were very generous. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful with our requests for local knowledge about the seafood market. Not cheap, but very justifiably worth it.

Visually this is a great restaurant; the building is historically old and has been fitted out in an unusual way to a very high standard. To match this the food is beyond excellent and our waiter had just the right personality to make us welcome and engage with us without being intrusive.

What a fabulous restaurant! The food was so innovative and really tasty. We were a group of 19 and had a separate upstairs room. The service was impeccable too. We had a superb evening. Highly recommended!

I booked here on a whim and I am so glad I did. Absolutely fantastic staff and general experience overall. We were offered to use the cocktail bar before our meals which was a lovely experience. The staff were impeccable and kind. The food was wonderful (especially the wasabi sorbet starter nd my partner thouroughly enjoyed the duck starter- said it was the best duck he had ever had). They also did a fantastic selection of alcohol free and its the first time I had seen a non alcoholic espresso martini on offer!) I highly rate this restaurant!

Comfortable, fine dining restaurant in centre of Rye. Service was friendly and efficient, always helpful. Food is very well sourced, much local, and cooked perfectly. One of the best restaurants in Rye and convneient, just off the high street by the chuch and town hall. Look forward to next visit.

I had 2 courses lunch just for £25 per person! It was really a lovely price. The meal was also served with appetizer and bread. The entire dining experience was great. I like this place, happy to visit again in the future. Off topic was about its golden toilet. It was epic, must visit.

Beautiful and truly delicious menu. The staff where a little to afficient - we put that down to the fact it was very quite however we would of liked some time to breath amoungst courses. They took time to deliver the wine but was jumping almost down out necks when it come to the bill! It's a pretty periodic space and you won't be disappointed only by the price 😉

Fletchers was a great dining experience, the food here is exceptional, with great detail. We came for my boyfriends birthday and they gave us some fudge with Happy Birthday written on the plate, we were very pleased with the hospitality here.

We had been told Fletchers House was a good restaurant and it is. Excellent food service and atmosphere. Amuse bouche to start which were delicious followed by a small cup of tomato soup before our ordered starters which were really delicious. Our mains were both very good and the portions generous. A very tasty pear sweet to finish. Good wines at reasonable prices. I could not fault the service. Great to find another restaurant in Rye where the chef really knows how to cook and to enjoy a meal at a reasonable price for such good food. We will tell our friends and we will be back. To be recommended.

In addition to eating great, the service is super friendly, we were able to eat on the interior terrace with our dogs. Highly recommended.

What a delightful meal. The little extras, including the Amuse Bouche, were perfect, and the Skatewing was superb. It didn't hurt that their prices, including their wine, were beyond reasonable.

My wife & l had Tasting Menu for lunch. Outstanding food (except cheese course lacked any flavour) staff very friendly & worth the money £117 inc service charge. Looking forward to trying the Al Cartè menu.

I turned up with my husband as an impromptu visit - we had a lacklustre dinner elsewhere and I was excited by the dessert menu here. The staff graciously squeezed us in and I ordered the panna cotta and an espresso martini. They were both heavenly. The staff were also friendly and polite. Thank you for giving us a great end to the night!

We didn’t have a booking and came with a baby, a pushchair and dog in tow… and it was no problem at all! James accommodated my family and I with such kindness and professionalism and along with his team gave us a fantastic lunch time experience! Cannot recommend enough! What a special dining experience! Staff were delightful and looked after us well. Extra unexpected little tasting dishes were a treat. Delicious, beautifully cooked veal for main course and the banana mousse desert was special. A great mix of bitter & sweet with different textures delighting the taste buds!

Popped in for a lunch on Sunday 19/02. We hadn’t booked, had a small well-behaved dog, and needed a quick lunch - the staff could not have been more attentive to go above & beyond. They made space to fit us in between their lunch bookings & made us feel welcome. We ordered scallops (Rye scallop week) and the food was delicious - even received a complementary amuse bouche, which was unexpected & a lovely touch. Thank you to the team!

We have just thoroughly enjoyed the scallop festival tasting menu. Compliments to the chef and the wonderful staff. The dishes were delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning soon, and bringing friends. As locals, this is definitely our number one place to dine in Rye. Thank you all for a great evening!

Fletchers House food and service was impeccable! They went out of their way to fit us in on a busy evening . Nothing was too much trouble. Have never had the glass warmed for brandy before but it did make a difference and was thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back .

Always such a great welcome, excellent service and a wonderful menu. We have been to Fletchers far to many times already, can’t stay away including the private room with its own bar. Just a perfect place we’re lucky to have in Rye.

Recently refurbished, this was a comfortable place to enjoy a relaxed lunch with friends. The food was good, and the 2 or 3 course set menu was good value: especially as they also give you amuses bouches, then a coffee cupful of soup before the first course arrives. I was somewhat surprised at the price of coffee: not unreasonable that this should be extra, but £5 for an espresso, with a service charge in addition, seemed over the top.

Wonderful Sunday Lunch. Excellent value,. Amuse Bouche, delicious home made bread were delicious. The starter and desert were first class & the Sunday roast the best I’ve had in years! The service and attention to detail was brilliant. However, personally not so keen on the decor, but super comfortable seating. We shall be back c soon & have told many friends how good it is. Quite simply the best restaurant in Rye in my opinion. The service from the young staff, in our case James and Amy, was very professional and attentive. The food was exceptional and head chef Matt and his sous chef deserve recognition. We’ve been twice and we’ve booked again in a couple of months. The menu is spot on. Not over elaborate, with a decent wine list at reasonable prices. If I had one minor quibble (and I mean minor) it’s that the chairs are a little low for the tables in some instances. It won’t detract from 5* though. Keep it up guys
