This small fronted winery can almost be missed when walking along Cinque Ports Street in Rye. But spot it and venture in and you'll be greeted by wonderful hosts (Graham and his wife) who really make you feel welcome. The fairly small interior is cosy but nice and their extensive knowledge of wines is second to none. It's not expensive either. Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back.

We visited Rye Fine Wines whilst in Rye for our annual scollop festival weekend away. We pop in every year, the service and atmosphere is always fantastic. In truth we have been visiting Rye Fine Wines since, well, since before it opened. I can’t think why I have never thought to review it before, but anyway, here goes: The atmosphere and ambience here are great. Mine hosts, Cathy and Graeme, are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and all round lovely guys who really care about their customers and the wider community. There are frequent wine tastings and other customer based events, and both Graeme and Cathy have a very strong ethos of supporting Rye town and its businesses. Nothing nicer than a having an early evening glass of delicious wine, whilst chatting to good pals, and listening to one or two of the locals having an impromptu jam. Simply the best.

Dropped in for a bottle of wine to share with a friend and enjoy on the premises. The service seemed rather amateur although there was a friendly atmosphere with mostly locals chatting about local issues. I asked the Landlord where the toilets were and he told me to use the ones at the train station as the old pipes were blocked at the moment and it would take a while to fix them! I said: : I'd rather not wait that long." and walked down the road to another bar for the convenience of using their toilets! However; because the generous landlord was sharing his toilet with the Rye Wine Cellar there was a queue of five people already waiting. I then walked in the other direction to the train station which was approximately 250 yards along the road ing the other direction. All in all a bed experience and not up to the expected standards that Rye can usually offer. If you can judge a place by the toilets. I'd give it a zero!

This is a very down to earth, welcoming wine bar. It's a small space, with sofas and chairs scattered about and a very small bar. But what makes it is the delicious wine and friendly welcome - the staff/owners are lovely and usually found chatting away to the customers. It's very informal, and feels like it's mostly frequented by locals. But at the same time there was no hint of us tourists being any less welcome!

Olde Worlde Wines has closed and a new wine bar, Rye Fine Wines, is due to open in late September 2020. It has been redecorated, more tables made available and lovely new lighting installed. All is in readiness for a cozy but socially distant and safe environment. The listing on TripAdvisor for its predecessor was always incorrect. Food is not served here, only very good wines to drink or to take away across a range of prices. There is also a limited bottled beer selection.

Wandered into this place at random and it was one of life’s good decisions. Unpretentious and welcoming, this is a wonderful establishment that is ran with a sense of elegance and populated by a clientele of equally welcoming customers. One drink in and they make you feel like a regular such is their warmth and I’d heartily recommend it to anyone passing through Rye. Miss it at your peril - this is the real deal. We popped in to this little gem last night as we had a dinner booking round the corner we were too early for. Danny was really welcoming and made sure we got seats at the bar. We asked for a fruity red and he found us three different wines we’d never tried before - an Italian, a Greek and a South African. He clearly knows his stuff and was happy to chat in between serving the regulars - it’s obviously a popular place! We felt genuinely welcomed, we enjoyed all the different wines which were very reasonably priced and when we return to Rye we will definitely make a return visit - thanks for a great experience!

Expect a warm welcome from staff and local regulars when you drop in for a glass or a bottle. What we really liked is the focus on finding a wine you like and feel like drilling at a price you feel like playing. Mark-ups are very modest and a wide range of regions, so whether buying a bottle, stopping for a drink or looking for somewhere to hang-out for an evening check-it out, you'll have a special evening. Try the English wines from just up the road - they're top.

Perhaps good reviews attract good customers in a cycle. It is a small cosy wine bar with one man as the staff who might be the owner? As we were on a pub crawl we had the rule of just one glass before moving on but it was so nice we stayed for another. In a fairly empty January night in town this was one of a few places that were busy. Nice basic/trendy decor.

The venue is a tiny wine bar (no food) with a few tables, a small bar, some very friendly locals as and welcoming, knowledgeable staff behind the bar. We went in a few times during our recent stay in Rye and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on each occasion. Tried a few different wines out (I'm no expert so followed their recommendations), reasonably priced and just a lovely ambience. The staff and customers were happy to offer up recommendations of places to visit, eat and have a real sense of pride about Rye and the surrounding area. We came on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. We were only in Rye two nights and we came here both nights. We were in Rye on our mini-moon following our wedding a few days before. First night we met Graham. He was lovely. Knowledgeable about everywhere to see in Rye and we had great conversations about English sparkling wine. The locals came in bit by bit for their after work drink and they were lovely and friendly too. Second night we met Danny. Lovely guy and very knowledgeable about wine and we ended up drinking and purchasing quote a lot of wine.A great spot to hang out with locals and drink and/or purchase great wine. When you first open the door to this little gem so discretely nestling amongst other bijou buildings in the Ancient Town of Rye, you realise all is not lost after all. The first impression is that you have walked into someone's cosy home and invited yourself to join them for a glass or two of wine. You are immediately greeted with a warm welcome by the owner who offers up many choices of wines to suit your palette. Once you have chosen your wine and settled to a comfy spot perhaps beside the grand log fire, you just need to take in the most engaging atmosphere that only the good old days could provide. The building is as its name suggest is very "olde worlde" full of charm and other wine lovers soaking up the experience of chatting like you were old friends with the strangers you have just met who all seem to have same agenda - to appreciate a good wine ( the choice is extensive) and enjoy the company of friendly and interesting locals. Alternatively it allows you place yourself in a cosy corner and just enjoy the wine and watch as it unfolds, with easy on the ears music and very accommodating people serving you. Olde Worlde wines offers wines for sale and tasting evenings for the connoisseur, where you will sample some very exciting wines and enjoy good company. This bar and wine shop can only be only grow in popularity, so happy to have discovered its existence. Will be a regular from now on.

I’ve been coming here for food for a while and it’s always deliciously prepared and served by very friendly and welcoming staff. It’s a lovely cafe situated in a quiet side road in the centre of Ticehurst village, well worth seeking out, keep your eyes peeled for the sign for The Courtyard Cafe. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the lunches are amazing, I had the homemade quiche with chips and salad which was all homemade by the lovely staff and it was so delicious. Daily specials are also available including teas, coffees and cake. Good size portions, with seating outside for sunny days and very clean inside with plenty of seating. Ample parking available at the village car park just round the corner from the cafe, it’s a really friendly place to relax and so worth a visit. Will be going back again very soon.
