The best restaurants serving Default food in Horsham South East

we went for a birthday lunch, ended up very let down, food was badly cooked and cold, the place wasn't that busy yet the service was slow, out of the seven in the party not one will be returning, shame the pub is really quite nice, just needs a sort out with the staff all round.

Book this place at you peril. We rang before our booking date as Google was saying site was permanently closed, the site owner didn't let us finish our 1st sentence before he was rude and obnoxious. Then we were told our booked "tent grass pitch with electric hook up" which looked lovely on the site pictures would be on a hardstanding at the side of the road. When I asked how you pitch a tent on a hard standing (didn't seem an unreasonable question to me) we were told to F'off. Decided to book elsewhere, to be honest the bloke can keep the money we paid, I'd rather lose £170 than speak to this bloke again.

A great pub - very welcoming (not cliquey), buzzing yet not overwhelming. A spacious eating area packed with atmosphere. Excellent menu inc a veggie "stack" with great ingredients. If it was our local we'd move in :-)

As always we were made to feel very welcome. My special request for seating was arranged. Our meals were delicious, staff very friendly. A very good experience.

Bye bye beefeater, we have enjoyed many meals here. Many thanks to Shirley. We did like eating here, but the powers that be sadly closed this restaurant. What a shame.

My son and I visited here today for lunch, we both ordered a first course and a Sunday roast for the main course, my son having beef and myself lamb. Both of our first courses were good apart from the fact that the menu said the baked camembert was with chorizo and my son received bacon lardons instead and my scallops were without seasoning with none provided on the table. The roast main meals arrived and looked fine, I tried my lamb to find I was tasting beef so called the manager over who was serving tables, he told me it was definitely lamb but may taste like beef as it had beef gravy, I said I had never tasted flavourless lamb meat that tasted of beef and if so why would the chef cover it in beef gravy and not lamb gravy! His reply was 'so you want me to waste this food'? My reply was 'I am unhappy with the tasteless lamb but would be happy to have a chicken roast to replace it to which I was told 'No, for if I were to bring you a chicken roast you will say it is not chicken'. Unbelievably rude! I was forced to eat just the side vegetables without the potatoes as my plate had been removed. The dumb thing is, we of course asked for the lamb roast charge to be removed from the bill when if he, like any eating establishment would with an unhappy customer, gone ahead and replaced the three poor quality slices of lamb with a chicken we would have paid the full bill. My further research shows that a lamb roast that tastes like beef is lamb that is particularly lean, poorly prepared, or from an older sheep (mutton), which can result in a milder, less "gamey" flavour that is closer to beef in taste. If you are thinking of going here for a meal I would completely avoid it with the poor quality meat and the managers bad way of handling unhappy customers forcing them leave hungry and angry.

We stopped by for something to eat on a Tuesday night and the pub was busy. We both had chicken pie and felt there could have been a choice of veg and a better portion of chips but it was nice. The staff were very friendly.

Lovely atmosphere, bar man was great! Absolutely packed and he was very efficient. Beautiful building and settings, lovely pub garden, lovely location.. highly recommend

We came for Sunday lunch with friends and a baby. The staff were fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble. The roast dinner was to die for! Fresh, properly home made, and large portions! The new owners are doing a brilliant job, and it’s lovely that chef came to see how we were and to help my veggie friend with any questions. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

Great place. However I get quite anxious when it's too packed. Wonderful staff and customers are friendly.

Awful meal, food dreadful. Waited and waited for out meal. So disappointed. Will not return. Ordered a chicken dish that turned up with tinned mushrooms in a watery sauce. Totally unacceptable

Really lovely country pub, with a well deserved emphasis on pizza. Highly delicious and fairly priced. Would recommend.

Lovely food and service for lunch with my family. Really yummy sandwiches, cake and a brilliant kids lunch for my daughter.

Horrible atmosphere, we felt completely unwelcome. I appreciate they were very busy and we hadn't booked but others appeared to just walk up and get a table. We were actually glad in the end as the whole place just felt snotty and the prices were outrageous. Give me a nice little café over this type of place any day of the week.

Saw an advert on Facebook for Sunday Dinner with "Kids Eat Free" so decided to take advantage, and take the family. My wife, 3 children and grandparents had a fantastic Sunday Roast and look forward to returning in the future. At £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 courses, the meal we enjoyed today offered exceptional value for money. Between us, we enjoyed 2 starters (both had smoked salmon), 7 main courses (4 x Roast Beef, 1 x Roast Chicken and 2 x Fish & Chips) and then x6 desserts (a selection of ice cream sundae's, chocolate brownies and cheese and biscuits). Given the quality of the food, and the service too, I would be very pleased to return on a Sunday when the kids meals are to be paid for...... it was that good. We already can't wait to return.
