Amazing service and food. There 16 of us to celebrate my mums birthday. They catered very well for us and nothing was too much trouble.

Met friends here for lunch on a Saturday as it is midway from where we both live. We hadn't visited here before, so didn't know what to expect, we all agreed that the Sussex Barn offered great value for money. We all enjoyed our meals and felt they were good value. We found the staff friendly and helpful, we would happily visit again.

Came here to bring a care client. she loved the portion sizes, and really enjoyed the food. it was hot, and tasty. Great friendly staff

Reading the reviews I was concerned, but my dad who was 90 on the day loves the Sussex Barn. They told us there would be a bit of a wait when we arrived. That was no problem for us. We had a mix of food burgers, steaks and fish and chips. All the food was piping hot and excellent and really tasty. For a Monday lunchtime they were very busy but we all really enjoyed the meal.

We went to the Sussex Barn for our daughter’s 16th birthday party A table of 14, they asked for us to pre order due to the size. I have in our pre order with the names next to the order What a great night, they went over the order and changed anything we needed. They separated the meals into couples: families which made it easier when paying The food was great, it came out hot and not long after we all say down, it also came with the server saying the persons name

We made the evening great because of company. Food was good. We pre ordered Xmas menu which was fine. Altho the waiting staff don't know cranberry sauce to bbq sauce which could of been dangerous had one of us tried it because of allergies

The serving was very quick, the food was exquisite especially for its very affordable price(It's rare to find that good quality food for such price nowadays in the UK). Great atmosphere and friendly staff!

There were 4 of us including my 96 year old mother. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The meals were fine and 3 of us had a desert, my mother didn’t want any on the menu but would have liked a sorbet, within a short time a sorbet was brought out to her, they had managed to find some and were not charged for it. We felt this was very thoughtful and kind and are grateful.

Would never come again. The restaurant was more or less dead and we still waited over an hour just for our starters. The food come out cold and was just overall not nice. Was suppose to have an all American burger and got a chicken burger with a streak off bacon. Staff need to go and have some more training in customer service, not polite what so ever. Don’t reccomend coming here.

Just been to the pub to eat and, despite there being several (5+) tables free with no reserved signs on, and according to the website saying food is served until 9pm, I was told they were not taking any more bookings. I asked if all the tables were booked and the response was “we are not taking any more bookings”. 300 miles from home and we’re now walking into the centre of Horsham, which we don’t know, to find an alternative place to eat!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to me.

The kind lady that served us was called sugar. Although I didn't ask, I think she may have been the manager (if not she should be). Sugar accommodated our dietary needs and made us feel very welcome. Her upbeat attitude made our nights. Thank you for a great experience 😁

The Sussex Barn has lost its appeal for us, ever since its former assistant manager Kevin moved on, following a promotion to run a pub in Shoreham-by-Sea. This seems to be an experience shared by other reviewers. Kevin was engaging with customers and handled any issues or delays with orders in a courteous and professional manner, which is sadly not the case with the current manager, who is very direct, bordering on rude. That said, the pub has Sky Sports, Greene King beers, plus a good selection of lagers, beers, and wine. Its garden is pleasant on summer days and evenings.

Sadly this place seems to have something going very wrong. Fridges behind the bar are often looking empty. Bar staff aren’t friendly anymore…even if more than 1 person behind the bar. Even when empty inside the sign goes up to say bookings only. And there’s no compromise on this, even for a bowl of chips. Seems crazy that a place this size and in this position in Horsham is not better staffed and equipped to deal with being more busy. Especially as the weather improves. Shame as it’s our local…..but we’re not getting much from it at all recently. Hope they can fix the issue and get back to being better.

I wasn’t acknowledged at the bar it even a I will be with you in a minute took me 15mins to get a drink and the bar staff where a bit rude

We ordered a sharer fir the 2 if us and it was awful Chicken was dry, as though it had been left cooking for far too long No chips came out. Had to ask where they were, and staff said theat it didn't come with chips, so asked them to check the menu as it says large sharer chips. In the end a small bowl turned up, but couldn't be bothered to argue over them. For what it was, it was expensive.

Visit here occasionally with a friend who lives close to it. The food, drink and service is usually perfectly acceptable, and prices are lower than most restaurants. The menu contains many choices, and there are usually special offers available.
