My partner and I ordered several items:
- Mac and cheese
- Mozzarella sticks
- Lemon and herb wings
- Medium meatball Italiano pizza
The portion sizes worked out perfectly for two people, but unfortunately, most dishes fell short. The mac and cheese was mediocre and forgettable. The mozzarella sticks were unusually sweet with a honey flavor, and lacked the classic stringy texture you'd expect - they were stiff, similar to halloumi fries but without the saltiness.
The lemon and herb wings were particularly disappointing. They were dry and tasted like soap rather than lemon, likely due to cilantro (warning: if you're sensitive to cilantro's soapy taste, avoid these). The chicken's color was also concerning. The only redeeming dish was the pizza, which my partner enjoyed, though they mentioned it would've been better without the onions.
Order placed one kebab with garlic sauce and spicy wings. What a mistake the kebab was greasy and it was served with tartare sauce not garlic mayo what the hell were they thinking. The wings were cooked beyond edible was like chewing deep fried cardboard. They were either last nights food reheated or just straight up over cooked. The only part of the meal that was any good was the canned drinks and that is cause the chef could never cock up a canned drink. It’s a shame cause only a year ago the food was divine. Recommend they sack the chef cause he or they clearly have no idea how to cook. Both meals chucked away. Idea of how bad this was our dog eats anything even he would not eat this food.
Terrible Delivery Time and Disappointing Food
Ordered from Oriental Garden on Delivery at 6:30 PM, and our food didn’t arrive until 9:10 PM—a ridiculous 2.5-hour wait! I was left with two starving young children, which is completely unacceptable. No updates or apologies for the delay.
The food itself wasn’t even worth the wait—nothing special at all. I’ve had much better Chinese takeaways in Basingstoke that were both faster and tastier. I will never order from here again and definitely do not recommend this place.
Avoid if you want your food on time!
The service was not existent. The team behind the counter were more interested in their own conversation. The cake was dry, tables were sticky and dirty
Bad customer service
. Pizza arrived and they left on back yard . If I don’t call they never call me or left any messages. I call and the guy who answer after I explain him where was my delivery he says he call me . I don’t answer ok ….. but why you don’t leave message on voice message ?? Pizza after 25 minutes stand ouside is like cardboard . I don’t think I will return. Very bad experience the guy need leraning to talk with customer isn’t you problem ?? I will visit your store and you can tell me which is my problem…
The guys that work at the shop are very friendly and very nice. but unfortunately the food is not great it is going downhill! The donna kebab meat is terrible. It has no flavour whatsoever taste like cardboard, they really need to get a different supply of Donna, kebab meat! Please please change your supplier for your meat!
I have been 2 times before, the price is SO expensive, but it’s so yummy I still come. We came and got charged an extra £2.50 just for dairy free ice cream and £1 extra (add on to £4.50) for plain waffle. I asked how this is fair and the pricing as my friend and I are splitting, I got spoken to like I was stupid and after understanding what the worker meant, she rudely said ‘that’s what I said!’. Not to mention the 15 minute wait and we waited 10 minutes before she even started to cook the waffle. This ruined my experience and will be the last time coming here!
I went in to grab a latte, but the service wasn’t great. The server didn’t smile or say hello, which made the interaction feel a bit cold. When I asked for a lavender latte with oat milk, instead of acknowledging my request, she just told me the latte already comes with oat milk. It felt like I was bothering her, and overall, the experience was disappointing.
I visited Subway at Festival Place and had a disappointing experience. I ordered two subs, but both were served completely cold. When I politely asked the staff at the till if they could warm them up, the lady I spoke to was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service skills. There was no sense of professionalism or courtesy. I ended up taking the food home to heat it myself. Very dissatisfied with the service—definitely not what I expected from Subway.
I waited there while it was being prepared and collected it the moment it was wrapped. Despite this, the sub was already cold when I received it.
I had specifically asked the Indian lady at the counter to warm. When I asked about it again, her response was dismissive and unhelpful. It’s hard to believe the sub could cool down so quickly just from walking from the table to the till to collect it.
We had our wedding at Bartons mill on Wednesday. The place is a gorgeous setting and we had numerous guest comment on what a lovely venue it was. The staff were very helpful and the wedding flowed perfectly, thanks to Flo and the wedding team for assisting and organising. The food was superb, we had our wedding meal, breakfast and food the evening before, all lovely. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and homely. We would highly recommend a stay, wedding or meal here! Thanks once again! Looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here in the future :)
Thank you so much to the kind man who offered my coffee for free today after I forgot I had no access to funds due to a lost purse (and therefore no Apple Pay) today. It could have been a very different experience - I really appreciate it
The best Chinese delivery I have eaten. Delivery was on time the food was piping hot. Nothing to complain about. Wish the delivery driver stayed fo a tip however my dog may have scared him off.
