Food ok but staff not very friendly nor welcoming - certainly don’t look happy in their jobs. Highly unlikely to be back.

The Bramley village bakery is an abominable, mockery of modern baked goods and coffee. To start with the prices are too much for what you get. Secondly all the sweet treats are incredibly poor qaulity and do not taste appetising at all. Sadly the building is not the cleanest but could be worst. On the other hand, the marshmallow cones are beautifully crafted with such divine taste and marshmallowy texture. In addition the staff are welcoming and kind. All in all a "mid" experience.

came here expecting a really nice lunch, I ordered a jacket potato with cheese, beans and coleslaw to take away. The jacket potato was microwaved so no crispy skin, I went home and added extra cheese, heated it up and added more coleslaw. with a packet of crisps for nearly £8 I at least expect a decent oven cooked potato. they could do so much better considering JP is a main item on their blackboard.

What a great place this is to visit with a lot of choices on offer, rolls, baps, soup, bread and a tantalising array of cakes to mention but a few. This has been my choice destination for a bike ride for sometime now. Does get a bit busy sometimes but that indicates to me that other people also think it is worth a visit, it has adequate off road parking and even a bike rack. Excellent seating is available, inside and outside the choice is yours. All in all a great place that is all to absent on the High Street.

We happened by this village bakery yesterday afternoon and decided to stop and buy some bread. We ended up buying more than the loaf of bread, two cheese and onion slices which were excellent cold, hope we can try them hot one day. Hot cross buns which were lovely soft and fluffy. The white loaf is also excellent, light and just the right amount of chew, can't wait try the apple pie. I have read some of the reviews and have to agree that the service wasn't warm and friendly, but it was perfectly fine. A local small business, ideal location next to the railway station we wish you all the best for the future.

Here is what you get given to eat your soup, a tea spoon smaller than a thimble. Could have been worse could have been given me a fork. Actually could have been better off. If you have not got spoons don't serve soup.

Paid £9.96 for a loaf of bread and small pack of 4 rolls. Must admit I am in shock. You can get the same from a supermarket for a 1/4 of that price! Overpriced for what you get, won't be going back. Shame as live locally in Bramley and its one of the only things this village has other than an old knackered pub and a one stop shop! Doesn't seem like an overly hygienic place either if I am honest.

This is the second time I’ve been to this place recently. Last time was pretty awful, but I thought, they probably had a bad day. No, I was right the first time it’s bang average. I do not normally slag off small local businesses. But! You’re greeted by two miserable, unsmiling women. I asked for a decaffeinated coffee and a doughnut to have in their seating area. Now I assume it’s a bakery with a cafe, the bakery being the main part of the business. By the way, all the bread on the shelves, looked rather plain and unappetising. It did not entice me to buy any. The coffee is put into a takeaway cup and the doughnut into a paper bag. One of the miserable women was in the process of putting a plastic lid on my coffee, so I said, “no need”, “I’m drinking it here” pointing to their very unwelcoming cafe. “It’s easier to carry” she grunted. So I sat down to eat a very dry doughnut that had no jam in, but what looked like jam spread on the outside. Too be fair, the coffee was ok. I suppose they must be doing ok, it quite a big village. Perhaps it’s like having a captive audience. Surely someone could get hold of this place and, well, make it nice! As I drove away, towards Sherfield on London, I passed a convenience store on the left, outside was a Warburtons lorry delivering bread, rolls, crumpets etc. I thought, I can see why they don’t buy from the local bakery. This afternoon I’ve been to the bakehouse in Old Basing. The difference is staggering. One million times better.

Went in the bakery today and noticed 3 rolls had been made up with ham cheese and a slice of tomato but no pricing. Ordered the 3 rolls and 3 sausage rolls and was asked for £19.30!!!!! Almost £20 for 3 ham and cheese rolls and 3 sausage rolls I think is utterly outrageous. I made the cashier double check but to save embarrassing myself and asking her to put them Back I just paid and left quickly. It’s a real shame as I used to love this place it’s certainly not affordable for us now.

Avoid this place. Served me food I am allergic to (different to what I ordered), with no regard for the danger of anaphylaxis. Very rude cashier told me that this is my problem. Very nice place otherwise

On paper this place seems great. A bakery at the heart of a village, next to a train station and with parking out front. Unfortunately, after giving them several tries, we will not be back. The staff are not particularly friendly and definitely not very welcoming. The prices are not clearly displayed so it can be hard deciding what to buy. Also, the prices in this shop can be quite ridiculous....and interestingly..our local co-op stocks Bramley Bakery rolls, the same ones on sale in the shop, at a far cheaper price! I'd be happy to pay a premium price for a premium product but unfortunately their sweet treats are very dry. Would love to recommend this place but sadly I cannot. Poor service, average taste, high prices.

I was quite surprised to see the negative reviews. I popped in there due to its location to the station and had a cheese and onion roll made to order. Lots of choice of bread - even whether I wanted red or white onion which was nice. The bread was fresh and the roll had lots of filling. I also had one of their vegetable samosas which again was loaded with filling, nicely spiced and enjoyable to eat. The service was good - polite and attentive. Finally, got what I got I felt the price paid was fair. All in all a very positive experience!

The food and drinks are OK, but if the staff can get it wrong they will do. I had to repeat the order a couple of times and still it was wrong. Is a large coffee large? Does tea with milk have any milk in it? It's worth going there for the Faulty Towers service, but just make sure you write a review.

Stopped on my way to a nearby National Trust site and bought a Pasty and 2 Eccles cakes. In the shop a lady shouted across another customer who was being served to ask “what do you want?” She dropped the pasty into a bag and left it on one counter moved over to another and asked for payment. After paying I had to cross in front of another customer to get the pasty. As the pasty was warm, I decided to eat it before going into the site… the filling was mainly sludgy grey matter with the odd piece of carrot and 2 recognisable bits of meat. The Eccles cakes was filled with brown paste with the odd sultana here and there, and vaguely tasted of cinnamon, but very little else. I had 3 bites, and threw away the rest, along with the uneaten one. I will not be returning!

4/5 for baking but 0/5 for not serving non-cows' milk coffees. No soya or oat milk! The excuse given was that not enough people ask for it so it's not economical. Oat milk is 70p at Aldi! That's not an excuse, it's a mean penny-pinching decision to shun lactose intolerant and vegan coffee drinkers. This was my first visit and my last. Really hopeless.

Ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 teas and nearly got billed twice, ie £27.00, which is acceptable with an apology, but the staff are incredibly rude and refused to take responsibility for their actions. They even tried charging me 4.00 for a multi pack of 4 doughnuts, which I find to be rather expensive. I think they sugared my tea with a spoon from a Wendy house aswell. The sausages are just thrown in to the bread , not cut up at all, therefore making it difficult to eat . Over all, exceedingly disappointed.

We have been visiting the bakery shop all across the lockdown social distancing period. It is 30min cycle ride away for us but thankfully this allowed us to incorporate our allowed excersise with a bacon butty and hot drink. The prices are reasonable and the staff coped really well only allowing 2 customers in the bakery at a time. As it is a proper bakery, suppling local shops, it is open every day from early till late. We also discovered the range of large roll sandwiches which was on par with their hot delights. We shared our discovery with our friends, and they with theirs, to our detriment as the queues got longer as lockdown prolonged. Our 6 year old’s description is as follows: “I love the marshmallow cone with smarties and love the sausage rolls” .......this was the motivation that helped us to get the little one to ride up the hills in order to get there!

I moved to the village a few months ago and have been enjoying the great bread and cakes, hot food is also very nice but the service is so variable; the staff are either being actively horrible to each other or treating the customers as an inconvenience.

I have been here before and recommend the fresh rolls and fillings as you walk into the bakery . If you can get a seat then the outside area with a tea is very pleasant . However the last two occasions I have purchased take away cakes and biscuits. The shortbreads were so sweet and a distinct lack of butter made them crumbly and dry , the bread pudding slice was revolting, dry and tasteless . It was binned in the end even with cream it was pretty inedible . The muffins were dry too . For the price of what they charge it’s poor value . My friend is a food critic and her partner a chef , both were with me and agreed the bakery side is not up-to standard . Sadly I will not purchase from them again but do recommend the sandwich fillers if you are in need of some energy and a pit stop. Good parking facilities and toilets spotless. Just sadly the cakes are not brilliant and letting them down.

Just moved into the area and every time I come here and asked for a loaf of sourdough bread they don’t have one or its “in the oven”.Cane her for breakfast which was good except we were given margarine for our toast instead of butter. The doughnuts and cream cakes are very good though.

Stayed at an airB&B in the village who did not offer breakfast so found the bakery. Busy place but got a bit confused over what a double breakfast meant. Had to have the second egg and the mushrooms brought later . This meant only a four star. Great bread .

Half way through a 38 mile cycle ride we drop by for drinks and sustenance. Few drinks and cakes/buns later we are refreshed.Everything appears fresh and home made. Not partaken of their cooked options but if the pastries and cakes are anything to go on they would be pretty good me thinks. Reasonably priced also. Has toilet facilities which is helpful at a half way point for cyclist outing. Set back from the road, so lots of space to put bikes out of the way.One observation is that the hot chocolate could be a little more 'chocolate'. A bit weak but that is the only thing I find. Great little pit stop if you are passing for any reason.

Been here several times whilst out on my bike and thought it was time to leave a review. Loads of choice for the hungry cyclist, cakes, buns, pastries are all top quality. It’s just a shame it isn’t a bit bigger although a great stop off for a small group, small seating area outside as well for when the weather is fine.

Decided to eat here after a visit to Silvester Roman Town. There was lots of variety on the menu. I opted for a toasted panini, while the others had a bun of choice with their selected filling. There is a small covered terraced area outside which was pleasant to sit under on a hot day. Saw a total of 6 trains go past.

The staff was absolutely so rude to me today as for the first time I was asked for ID for a coffee I am over the age of 16. Coffee isn't a energy drink or alcohol. Made me wait 10 minutes and gave me such rude attitude all because of this silly rule.I am clearly a tall 16+ year old. I felt very unwelcome by the staff. Never coming here again I'm going to a different one as they would give it to me no issue and they are so much more welcoming. There was so many flies in there it felt not clean. Gave me decaf instead of regular coffee.Im going to another Costa. Disgusting.

Absolutely appalled by the manager of this Costa, disgustingly rude and unprofessional. I know I'm not the first person to have issues with this manager. Amy curtis has got an ongoing issue with this costa due to harassment by the manager and another member of staff. Have also seen alot more reviews expressing the rudeness of the manager and other members of staff.
