Costa Coffee in Basingstoke and Deane

Just had coffee so can't really comment 100% . The place was really busy and but not particularly clean, but served it's purpose. Toilet facilities were disappointing, there being only one unisex toilet and a disabled one.

Consistent coffee and friendly enough team. But like with most Costas I go into the WiFi never works well if at all which for a coffee shop in 2024 is frustrating.

Got my order wrong in the drive thru was too late to go back as I didn't find out till I was home.

Super clean compared to most of the franchises.

Good, relaxing visit. Staff know what to do, keep the tables clear and it didn't take forever to get the drinks.

Great staff, friendly and helpful

A nice central Costa location, it can get busy but friendly staff. Being next to the leisure park means there is lots to do, including some nice walks. There is also a shuttle bus into the town centre and railway ststion not too far away.

Very quiet and good place to work with your laptops. Really good croissant.

Food and coffee was OK. The guy serving me seemed totally distracted. He made my coffee and placed it on a tray, but didn't say anything to me. In the meantime, his colleague had brought over the muffin I ordered and placed it near to where he was, but he started making other drinks. In the end I just had to interrupt him and ask him to pass me the muffin so I could go and sit down. He also tried to give me milk despite me ordering a black American (which are famously milk-less!)

Fantastic experiance, only let down by the state of the toilets.

Really gone down hill Not sure if the speaker system is broken but every drink I've ordered has been wrong in some way when ive got to the pay window (for drive through). Also - and this is a side thing. They keep trying to give me 3/4 drinks without a cup holder. Logic should say - more than 2 - cup holder, right?

Nice costa, quite well presented. Staff are friendly and coffee is good, service is relatively quick and has the added bonus of having a drive thru. Could do with being slightly cleaner on the floors, tables are generally clean and quickly cleared.

It's a Costa what you would expect. The large latte really is a bucket of coffee. Quite surprised by the size.

I've been a few times to this particular branch. Staff are pleasant. My order wasn't totally correct, but I did enquire and the barista corrected it whilst they were making my drink. Sadly I wasn't asked if I wanted to eat in or not, so my lunch wasn't in a bowl etc, but I'm not overly precious. I just think the person who served me was a little distracted today. Won't put me off coming again though.

Hard to find the entrance - you have to go all the way round i-Fly. But a good Costa when you get there.

I went through the drive thru recently to get a hot chocolate while on my way somewhere else. Ordering was easy but I was left waiting at the window for a good 10 minutes after pulling up and paying. Several members of staff went by with no acknowledgement of me having been sitting there for so long, until one person realised I was still there waiting and apologised, handing me my drink. I'm guessing I was forgotten about and that my drink had been sitting there a while, as it was less hot chocolate and more tepid chocolate. Sadly, I did not realise this until I had left the drive thru. As I was going elsewhere after this, and had no way of reheating my drink, it ended up in the bin. Not impressed.

We often go to this Costa, as it is easily accessible for us. The staff are always nice, but we had an extremely nice and friendly experience with an employee called Jackson. From the outset he was very kind and friendly towards us, very talkative and just lovely to be served by. Thank you, Jackson!

Indian manager shouldn’t be working there. Very rude!! It was fine before he works there.

Clean, friendly Costa, ordered drinks but didn't realise the Costa was shut so we're slightly confused when they took our order, we paid and then they told us. It was nice outside so we sat there. Drinks were as advertised but they didn't have a few of the syrups in so limited. Friendly staff, although hard to hear what they were saying above all the noise and behind the perspex.

It's always clean and tidy. It's nice to sit and chat with my husband and watch the world go by

Overall and ok coffee shop, nice for both something sweet and for drinks. However, it would be much better if cutlery and glass were polished after wash.

Again shut......no advance warning. My one star is generous

25 minutes in the drive through, for four coffee's absolute joke. Then I complained about the wait and the staff was rude. Worse part was I was second in the queue, wasn't even busy. Lucky to get one star.

Dreadful coffee, poor servuce, untidy had to wait a while to be served and the coffee was boiling! In a paper cup with no coffee holder, young guy who served the coffee on his own came out to clear the tables I guess they were short staffed, wont go back there again

LONG wait for service as eat in customers and no acknowledgement from staff that we were waiting or apology for the wait. We had been seen. Otherwise fine. Enjoying the M&S food collaboration

Great coffee as always. It was surprisingly busy at 10.30 am, but then we'd not realised that it's Half Term. But it was OK, the tables were nicely spaced out and the air was fresh, with good Covid precautions so we felt comfortable. 😎👍

I live locally and have been coming here for about 5 years now. I must say that since the lockdowns ended and they reopened, the service has become infuriatingly slow, and often mistakes are made. I feel sorry for the staff, because it is obvious they are understaffed, either because the company is cutting back on costs to try and make up for lack of profits during lockdowns, or because they think they can't find the staff. I am sure that there are lots of willing workers out there to fill the gap if the company tries to find them. The fact that nearly all the empty tables still have the last people's rubbish left on them, and never seems to be cleared up in a timely way, is evidence of understaffing. It is no different in the drive-through queue, and with the cost of fuel these days, you really need to turn off your engine as you may be in the queue for over 10 minutes and it could easily cost you a pound or two just waiting in the queue! Given the time it takes to be served, either in the shop or in the drive-through queue, you are better off making your own coffee at home. Don't go here until they actually get the staff they need.

Inside was bigger than I thought. We sat outside in January in the sun.

How difficult was it to get an order of 2 x medium hazelnut decaf coffees at the drive through... I was asked if it was hazelnut almond ??? Got to the collection point, and only one was presented. Finally got right in the end.

I echo the sentiment expressed by others in this forum. We paid a visit recently after having the Covid jab at the fire station located opposite this Costa and were utterly disappointed. The staff looked so demotivated to say the least, the service was atrocious and the toilets were nothing short of a microbiology lab on steroids. Maybe it's time the health and safety inspectors paid a visit. Totally disappointed.

Waited 30 mins to get coffee in drive through only to get the wrong coffee. A capable manager needs to be on during key shifts. You may get away with this as there not many alternatives in the area, what happens when you give the wrong coffee to someone with dietary requirements? Can I get my money back?

Can actually get a coffee within the hour unlike the starbucks drive thru in basingstoke. Bean and cheese toastie was a bit stingy on the fillings though.

Quite rude and lazy staff! Wanted to sit inside as it was raining however the only available table that we could sit at had started to be cleaned and then left. When I asked the person to clean the table they then got a cloth and asked me to do it!!! After I hinted that it was their job they huffed and cleaned the table, with a fake smile and a “sorry about that”. Was almost tempted to give the coffees back and demand a refund

This place used to be fantastic, some members of staff attitude to paying customers is unbelievable off have to say. If a member of management would like a chat about this happy to discuss.

Had a make over inside. Looks really good and is comfortable.

Staff too busy chatting to serve you. A number of staff not wearing facemasks even though they were walking around the seating area. Right next to a vaccine centre!

Love this place, just wish they would have more stock on their frostino flavours (including cream) & did them in a large not just a small or medium size.

Just had my first experience at Costa coffee drive thru in Amazingstoke. I moved here in 2018 and Always loved Basingstoke. Smooth and quick I've injured myself so the staff were cool with me sitting in the car for collection. Wicked!! I'll be back......peace and loving. Staff are arrogant and slow (maybe not all but on most occasions) although drive thru is quick but gets v busy

Took over 25 minutes to order. Extremely slow service. Drinks were luke warm when we did receive them.

Very friendly staff and excellent service.

Last few have not been good. The drinks i ordered were out of stock of the milk type and ingredients to the frostino. And the drink i did get had wet coffee grinds and stains on the lid. The frosting had no sprinkles or caremel to finish it off. Very disappointing and bland.

First time to this branch and hopefully was just a blip, but when the drive thru takes longer than parking up and going in (which is what a few were doing) that's not good surely? And not even a 'sorry for the wait' when I eventuality got served 26 minutes later. And once you're so far into the queue you're stuck! Hey Costa, how about a free muffin if I'm waiting longer than ten minutes? Just a thought 😊

Need more staff. But not sure on how many you are aloud due to covid
