Costa Coffee in Basingstoke and Deane

The staff was absolutely so rude to me today as for the first time I was asked for ID for a coffee I am over the age of 16. Coffee isn't a energy drink or alcohol. Made me wait 10 minutes and gave me such rude attitude all because of this silly rule.I am clearly a tall 16+ year old. I felt very unwelcome by the staff. Never coming here again I'm going to a different one as they would give it to me no issue and they are so much more welcoming.There was so many flies in there it felt not clean. Gave me decaf instead of regular coffee.Im going to another Costa. Disgusting.

I'm usually a fan of Costa, but today was poor. Service nill, tea shocking didnt drink it, price reasonable. We all have the odd bad day so I will go back.

Slow, queuing out of the door, no one cleaning or clearing tables. Needs a manager.

The man that served me in the coffee shop was rude and cut across me when I tried to order , I won’t be giving Costa my custom again; The other staff members were polite and mannerly to customers so thing this man was not.

Have just visited this spot, staff are fantastic. Have just watched Jack deal with an older gentleman extremely compassionately and with real grace, during a really busy period. If you read this Jack, be proud of yourself! Little kindnesses go so far. Superior customer service!

Went to this Costa yesterday 12/08/2024 It was an awful experience, there was 3 members of staff working, 2 of them were working on the tills and making drinks, the other was just wondering around the store, not sure what he was actually doing. The queue was out the door and the staff were so slow at getting people served and at making the drinks. I have been to many Costas all over the UK and I am a Costa card holder. But I will never visit this branch again as the service was appalling. As a disabled customer who walks with a walking stick I really struggled to stand in the queue but needed a drink to take my medication so had no choice. The staff were all laughing and messing around behind the counter and they could see that myself and another man were struggling standing up in the queue but it made no difference to there behaviour. I appreciate it was a really hot day and everyone was hot but that's not an excuse for poor customer service. Costa sort it out and retrain these people!!!!!

Convenient position in the shopping centre Plenty of seats. A typical coffee shop. I do not like them trying to encourage buying more shots knowing them not to be good for you

I went to order cold drinks with my siblings today and queue was long I did wait and I wasn’t sure what drink to buy as it was the first time and I was taking time to order the rights drink as I had to translate into french. But there was no need as I’ve been served by mamado that speak french well and recommend some nice drinks that I was looking for. Nice drinks with a great service. I’ll definitely comeback on my next visit.

I order the macchiato coffee but is not coffee. It is awful!

Lucy from Basingstoke Festival Place (Ground Floor) was such a lovely lady! The person behind me pushed in front and got served before me and Lucy, who was at the phone and realised what had happened, had reassurede me that I would get served straight away and she gave me a lovely discount for the inconvenience. Thank you so much Lucy!

Long queues. Drinks can vary in temperatures you can have the same drink hot one day and Luke warm another.

Got two coffees and got shouted at by Olivia at the till as she messed up the order as I actually ordered one coffee and one hot chocolate, whilst waiting I observed all staff members using the same knife to cut all toasties without cleaning or at very least wiping it down so whether your Vegan/Veggie or have allergies it's a game of roulette! Bit iffy bare in mind Pret killed someone with nut allergy in the past!!

I went to costa yesterday, felt I was ignored. Two ladies at the counter seems to chatting with third person. Didn’t apologise nor welcomed customer. I literally had to stand there in front of them waiting to be served. Didn’t like the service.

😢 The staff at the time of my visit seemed to be well-staffed, however, I noticed that no one was cleaning the tables. There was a young lady with blonde hair who seemed to be engaged in a conversation with someone. It appeared to me that they knew each other, rather than her working at the moment.

Tried new Frappe. Was undrinkable and warm. Staff not helpful. Cafe was hot and dirty. A disgrace to Costa.

A bit mucky inside at times. Wood paneling needs dusting!!

Regular visitor to this restaurant. Always friendly and welcoming whenever I visit with my colleague before work. The manager is always upbeat and the regular team always make us feel welcome.

Good coffee. Fast service. Very busy as usual for a Saturday morning.

The food is great and so is everyone else working in the cafe except the big black dude that rushes people through their orders and assumes that you picked up the wrong item. He took my wife’s and my sisters orders and butchered them. The place is good, the big dude just needs to tone down his attitude a little.

They refused to take £50 pound note the lady at till has said they don’t take 50 pound notes i don’t understand why they don’t want take if you decide that you dond accept them you should put note on wall or they just done that to me

Such slow service after waiting for 15 minutes in the queue without bring served me and my husband left. No priority in getting customers getting their orders. What a shamble. Bunch of slow workers

Myself and my friend went into costa in festival place Basingstoke this morning. The place was disgusting with counter tops covered in coffee powder and the coffee machine with filthy. Only one member of staff having to serve everyone. The counter tops have not been cleaned in a while as it was everywhere. I certainly will not be going back.

Standard costa coffee. Good choice and caters for allergies with the drinks (not the food). Very nice staff and lots of seating. Very busy most weekends!

Located in an excellent place within Basingstoke but, as it's a Costa, you're paying a lot of money for anything.

Service was fast and what we bought was slightly more than I'd have wanted but overall very good.

Costa is one of my favourite coffee shops. It is less pretensious than other big names. They serve great coffee with a variety of milk options followed by multiple pastry options. The staff are very welcoming. The hot chocolate is also famous. I confess that their prices have edged up but costs have risen.

Table could do with a wipe but nice staff and quick service

Cheaper coffee is available elsewhere but you knew that before you decided to enter. Mind you the Mint aero chocolate is worth every penny

Very poor customer service in this Costa Branch. After waiting long in the queue, Find this lady on the till very rude and impolite. Won’t go there again. Later on realised there were other costa branch within the Festival place. What a poor service.

Good place to get lunch after the cinema! Had a really nice wiltshire ham & cheese toastie with caramel slice after.

Much nicer than Starbucks it would be even better if they made proper tea on a teapot with tea leaves.

Good service, I'm in a wheelchair so they carried it out for me without me asking. The coffee tasted just like a Costa flat white (funny old thing).

We visit that place for mom and little one date 🙂 and our 5yo had just a cupcake and after that, few hour later up to next two nights he was really ill, including vomiting. Never ever will go there. Please ask for a date of the products before you buy anything.

Why do they let people sit ther for hours on end working on laptops when real customers cannot get a table.will not visit again

Checked out this Costa today.Signage on the door states that they are aiming to keep their customers safe. Saw no wiping down of tables between customers inside or outside of the store.No masks being worn by customers entering or by the staff.The rail where people wait for their order wasn’t wiped down either. I did my own table and chair and another customer outside did her table and chair back.The shop was not busy,two members of staff were sitting at an inside table and two staff behind the counter.

Good place to sit and people watch, good friendly staff coffee well its costa.

We sat inside and given disposable cups, wasn't impressed as I had a hot chocolate with squirty cream and was given with lid to drink it. Wasn't good with the cream

I love it here. My little haven before I shop in town. Richard and the rest of the staff are always so courteous and friendly they can’t help put a smile on your face, even when they are busy. A good selection of cakes and sandwiches and always make my coffee just how I like it.

When did a flat white become £2.80?!? Didn't even put sugar in it as requested, too scared to ask after in case that was another 20p! 😅

Very helpful staff and had a good choice of food and drinks. Did not have trays to carry food which did not help as I have a walking stick and can only carry one item of food. A bit difficult if you have more than one person you are ordering for.

A little bit of a que however the que went Down quickly. Social distancing worked out good and easy to follow freinldly staff. Table I had sat on had been sanitised. Staff were clearing tables and sanitising once customers had left. The coffee was great.

Staff are really rude here !! Been here so many times in costa Basingstoke festival place it was really disappointing and disgusting service ever specially the guy there never served in a friendly way he is always making faces while serving coffee me and my friend were dissatisfied and disappointed by the service there they really need to hire someone who is customer friendly and give good service to their regular customers as well as others they are really rude zero customer service at all !!! Please hire someone who’s good to their customer many thanks!!!
