The best restaurants serving Default food in Rochford East of England

Ordered large chips and I must say they were the worst chips we had ever had. They were white, hard, and just about warm. You couldn't even put them between bread to disguise the look and taste. £7 in the bin for two large chips, never again.

We're local to the area and The Red Door was our first choice for hosting our baby shower. Gemma was so helpful with organising it, and was very flexible with us! The set up was simple, the place was ours to do what we want with until 5pm. We change the layout, brought in decoration, and even caterers. The place was perfect for the guests we had (40 adults and 15 children). Thanks a lot for helping make our baby shower special.

AVOID! Waited over 2 hours for our order. When we rang for the third time (after being told it was on its way), they refused a refund or to deliver.

After many years of amateur, incompetent and unfortunate landlords, crushed by a greedy and unbending national pub chain, this failed village pub has finally closed down. It's now shuttered-up, awaiting redevelopment.

Have been ordering from Golden Palace for 20 years. Never disappoint and even now we are based further away from Rayleigh they will still deliver to us. Food is always piping hot and delivery is always within an hour even on busy nights. We love their Salt and chilli squid and chicken balls in sweet and sour sauce. We have tried many other Chinese takeaways and we haven’t found one that is better than golden palace for authentic Chinese food.

Food was stone cold and my chicken balls were pink so not only do they have to fix the delivery they also have to get new chefs

Really small and disappointing. Special fried rice was basically plain rice. Really needed a pick me up today and this has just upset me further. Thanks for nothing. Won’t be back.

It wasn’t very warm and a lot of water! The food okay once we bailed out the water. We ate it but wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Not normally a fan of ‘pub grub’ but had a fantastic meal with the wife. Large selection to choose from and food was really well cooked. Great range of drinks and the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. First time I’ve visited in a while and the entire experience was a pleasure. Would definitely recommend.

Started off poorly half the kids menu was not available which only found out after placing order, but worse to come my burger didn't taste great and cold chips and onion rings but was so hungry carried on eating it. Hour later it all came back up! Luckily my boy didn't eat most of his otherwise would be even more upset!😡

Went for a meal mother and daughter. Server friendly and noticed we had been waiting a while for our food and chased this up without us having to ask. It was busy and she knew her customers who had been waiting etc. Food was nice when it arrived and hot. Very helpful server, and went extra mile for us. Well done Karla :)

Came here with my 2 friends and had an excellent time, Hostess Macey was lovely and accommodating, introducing us to our sever ‘Tiff’ as we sat down. we all natter a lot so it was nice for Tiff to tell us to take our time and that there’s no rush to order as after being sat for 20 mins we still hadn’t decided oops. We then ordered and i can hand on heart say the food was incredible, We all ordered the harvester combo and all our plates were clean! The food was delicious so shout out to the chefs. Thanks everyone for such an amazing evening

Although the food is a bit of a rip off for the portions, you can’t fault the staff for trying their best with service and being polite and welcoming

Terrible service....one till open to order so queued for 25 minutes to order food and then another 45 minute wait for food but was not advised of the waits when they sat us down and nobody seem to care that we had to wait so long....it was bank holiday however the place was not full !!
