The best restaurants serving Default food in Rochford East of England

Actually have the cheek to charge £5 for entry!!! Like REALLY!!! It was awful…terribly outdated music, no atmosphere. Don’t waste your time or money.

Attended here one Saturday evening with family. Nicely decorated restaurant and the food was nice, although, yes, the portion size a were on the smaller side, salad doesn’t really cost that much. Service was very slow, only managed 1 round of drinks, no offer of dessert either. Bread was microwaved as it went hard after a few minutes. I asked to pay for gratuity/service by card to which I was told they can’t do it, only restaurant I have ever known that won’t take service/tip by card. I don’t carry cash so couldn’t leave a tip. Which resulted in me getting accosted by a different waiter as we left and abruptly asked if everything was ok, he then rushed over to the table. I can only assume he was aggrieved that we couldn’t leave a cash tip. Not that the service really warranted it. But the passive/aggressive approach is not on. I eat out a lot and always tip via card. I won’t be returning.

All the chairs were wobbly, loud rock music blaring from tv in corner, barman wearing an anorak one poor lady serving. Food appalling £7.50 for a prawn starter which had 6 tiny lukewarm prawns, overcooked crispy squid rings. Truly awful.

I need to say how GREAT the staff were today (Saturday lunchtime) . Very busy with customers but ever single member of staff looked efficient and very friendly. The food was tasty and hot . Well done to all your staff at our Rayleigh Greggs. Ps thank you for the smiley face on my order box ! Made me chuckle.

We visited around 1.10pm. The restaurant was busy, and running out of food. Tables were left with dirty crockery on it so difficult to find an empty and clean table. Very limited menu, and quite expensive.

Amazing food all round and service . I personally had the roast beef which was absolutely gorgeous and so many additions . Only fault throughout the whole experience was we felt the roast should be served on a round plate not oval as over crowded, but this really isn’t a criticism just a would have preferred . Can’t wait to return again

Terrible place! Manager rude and aggressive..too busy petting the 15yr old barmaid! Who herself caused alot of trouble calling customers vile names and wanted to fight a member of my family! Expensive rubbish drinks..be warned stay away..the brewery needs to know about how this establishment is being run...absolute madness.

Terrible.The last 2 times the chips are almost uneatable.We threw half the portion away because the other half was overcooked and sooo crispy that i was frightened of breaking a tooth.Never again,chris chip shop in Grove road is so much better

They don't answer the phone to order so went to the shop and they don't take cash. So I will never go back

Awful service. Delivered order with items missing. Manager argued and would not refund or re-deliver or even try to sort.

I booked my wife’s 60th birthday party here, two months before they cancelled all bookings and keep all the deposits. Please do NOT book this place they ruined birthday party’s and weddings

Had a delivery, chicken small and dry, fries bland. Food was barely warm when it arrived. Won't be going there again

Visited for my daughter’s Birthday. Was shown to our table pretty quickly. After that the service was fairly slow. There was only one menu for the four of us to look at and it was damp… took 15 mins to order drinks and food. When the food arrived it was on paper plates. Yuck! Thankfully my girls loved it, but it was not what I was expecting for a £10 waffle that was literally 2 waffles with a little bit of sauce! Can’t say it was memorable or particularly enjoyable. Just little things that made it very average; not enough cutlery on the table, not having apple juice, slow service, hot drinks that weren’t good at all, and having to pay cash. Such a shame as it was for a double birthday celebration
