Had a lovely family meal at the lodge, staff were more than helpful, food was brought out quick and hot. Amazing service bar staff were lovely couldn’t rate the place more

Beer,OK,Although The Guinness Didnt Seem Up To Par,It Usually The Best Guinness Around,But Not Tonight,Food Was OK,But I Now Take Great Exception To The Tvs Which Are Now Everywhere,The Upper Bar,Where We Used To Like To Sit,Now Has A TV Tuned In To The BBC News Channel,FFS! Why? And Walking Through To The Rather Nice Toilet, No One Was Watching,Get Rid,Also Now In The Restaurant Area,Again Why? Be Nice To Go Somewhere Whithout A Bloody Telly!

Absolutely superb place. Fabulous staff and fabulous food. Prices so very reasonable. Got a lovely welcome. Will certainly be going back. Great service and great surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch, dessert and visit. Recommend this place

Best meal I’ve had at the lodge for a long time. It was busy but staff were helpful and service was good. Just wondered if it would be possible to make one side of the pub a no dog zone. I just don’t want to eat my meal sat next to a dog that barks every time someone comes in the door!

Visited with friends. Good tasty pub grub. Love that dogs are allowed, made my day seeing various gorgeous breeds, as we were by a big window looking at the outside space. Staff were all polite & friendly. Clean and tidy in our area (I didn't go walking round). This was our 2nd visit and would go again. Recommended

I had checked the online menus before our visit. I was going to order Chicken & Mushroom Pie, but this did not appear on the printed menus in the pub. This was not a big issue, as I was able to choose an alternative. All staff at the pub were lovely and helpful, the service was great and the food (and drink) was excellent.

Lovely location for a pub and lots of outdoor seating. I cannot comment on the food as I've not eaten there. Service at the bar was slow however seemed to be understaffed.

Decided to try this place as we thought would have a late lunch. My husband went to the bar to order drinks whilst I looked at the menu. All we could hear were a group of men swearing sitting near the bar. Member if staff did not ask them to tone their language so returned the drinks and left. Would definitely not reccomend this place at all

Went with a group of friends and it was quite busy but all things considered we didn't have to wait long to be served. Food was nice and hot and decent sized portions. Good selection to choose from and an option for smaller portions from a fixed price menu. Good value and plenty of parking.

Poor service, whole place needs a revamp really run down, chairs worn out, sponge hanging out of seat. Main meal served before starter, so cancelled starter & had refund, ordered skin on fries and got chunky chips. Went to order a Mocktail which was on the menu, bar staff didnt know what it was, finally found it on the screen. wouldn't come back here if you paid me.

The setting was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the steak I had was tough as old boots and completely overcooked. Asked for rare, got well-done (and then some).

Haven’t been for a while so thought we’d give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. My wife had the Calamari to start and she said it’s the best she has ever had. And we have owned an apartment in Tenerife for forty years so we know our Calamari. I had Lamb kofta which was tasty, perhaps a little garnish would be nice but it was fine. My wife had a Rump Steak and it was perfect. I had a Salad with Chicken Tikka. It was really tasty and plentiful. Overall it was a pleasant experience with good friendly service. To top it all there was a Classic Car Club meeting outside and with me being an owner of a classic car was a nice touch. We will be back.

Food was exceptional. Sausage and mash very flavourful and the onion fries a great inclusion. Lasagna looked amazing too.

The food is always good, staff are very polite and accommodating and you can easily get booked in. Th lodge and the ground are great and they are also dog friendly.

It’s Farthers day and I’ve been treated by my Son and Daughter to dinner here. I had mushroom starters, and beef rib main course. Service has been excellent, beef was lovely. One of the best dinners I’ve had in ages. Thank-you for making it special.

Came in for dinner, very good again. Mixed grill and steak, both cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and great ambience.

Good value, for the standard and portions. There is plenty of outdoor seating. However, the building, decor, and most of the furniture are tatty and in need of repair or replacing. The gardens are good in size with plenty of space for children to play but not very well maintained. This place could be amazing due to it's size and setting but needs some love and attention.

I used to be a regular here as a teenager, so it was my first visit here for far too many years. The place has not changed at all and is desperately in need of a good refurb, which I understand the brewers have planned. But the F&B and service on the day I attended is still very good.

Great local pub, brought us back to the days when a local pub was just that and was part of the community, friendly and great selection of beer and food, all served by our lovely waitress Leah, can't recommend it enough!

We visited The Lodge for a roast dinner as a couple of families and we were not disappointed. The beer rib was amazing! And our waiter Dave was excellent, he was very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back 😊

Myself and my partner hired an area for our gender reveal and we were amazed at the service from the staff. Leah; who helped us organise the event, secured us the perfect amount of space and helped with any questions we had as well as the bar staff on shift who kept up with all requests from our large group of guests. Nothing but great hospitality and service from everyone.

Very rowdy, drunkeness and swearing. Food seemed like it was warmed up, chips were hard, and steak was like road kill. Would not be going back, and would not be recommending friends or family.

Popped In For A Sneaky Pint Of Guinness, Which Is Always Good Here, However,Why Hasn't This Place Had A Makeover? Really enjoyed the food. It was tasty and cooked perfectly. Staff were lovely and polite. Price wise it was around the same price as our usual weekly takeaway (if not less!). So I'd definitely return for another visit.

Improve everything! I don't think I have ever had a meal out this bad. There was 7 of us and not 1 of us enjoyed our dinner. Even the chips was under cooked. The food was absolutely awful

Lovely pub, unfortunately, on our visit the food came up cold/luke warm so we had to get a refund on our meals. The manager was really efficient and to apologise gave us free drinks for the inconvenience. I do feel that this was due to the fact it was over Easter weekend, and it was very busy. I would go back there, though to try, on a quieter day.

Unfortunately today’s experience wasn’t very good, considering was my mums birthday we were a little disappointed, but from the rumblings we weren’t the only ones. We arrived at midday when it had just opened as we made sure we booked a table just incase plus we had dogs with us. Found table easy as had name. I’d say theconly way we got all our food and drink was because two of us had set lunches. I went up the bar and ordered our drinks - not noticing that the wine they gave us was the more expensive Pinot. Visit 2 was to order our food of which there were 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 deserts. Food wasn’t quick but starters were nice. Seemed to wait ages for mains - 2 mains the chicken was certainly over done and dry but at least the seabass was lovely. Had to wait a while for the deserts which again were nice - but cant really go wrong with an eton mess. Visit 3 was to order a coffee which never materialised so Visit 4 was to pay and make sure bill was correct. It didn’t seem overly busy but at one stage one lady was behind bar and serving food. We did have one apology but even though another staff member turned up, her attitude behind the bar was poor and she appeared abrupt with some customers - the queue behind me was huge. Unfort although our dogs were settled there I do not think we will be going again which is a shame.

My daughter and I had a lovely meal here of chicken and portobello mushrooms pie, mash potato, cabbage and leeks with gravy.

Highly recomment this pub restaurant. There is a good choice of menu and the food was well cooked and presented, also very tasty. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking, pleasant surroundings and comfortable seating.

The food was lovely perfectly cooked but took a while to come out but it was very busy and very noisy but will definitely be going back in the week this time. Also there's plenty of parking and the kids menu was good

2nd time visiting this place, we thought we would give it a chance to redeem itself. Very very disappointing, we didn’t eat for the 2nd time, 1st visit over an hour an half wait for food (and this was with a table reservation) and only found out after we had purchased our drinks. 2nd visit, had a reservation, was shown to our table to be told in excess of 2 thirds of the menu unavailable. I don’t get to see my family often and this has left us traumatised and sad. My elderly mother now has anxiety when we mention the name of this pub in conversation. Do not recommend unless you want to go home hungry!

Liquer coffee needs perculated coffee and real cream, rather than warm coffee from a machine and squirty cream.

We chose this venue for a 90th birthday party and were glad we did. From start to finish the staff were friendly and helpful. There's no charge for the hire of the room, and the buffet was tasty and fresh. Highly recommended if you've got a do coming up! Thanks to all the team🙂

This was a pleasant find. A lovely setting and very friendly staff. Food came out quickly by a smiley lady. Shame that the lamb kofte weren't available. Seems to be an Ember Inn problem. Lots of space and lots of tables to choose where to sit. Love that there are two parts. One seemed loud and busy and the other quieter. Would definitely recommend this pub.

This is a poor review because The Rayleigh Lodge had a limited menu due to some of the more popular meals being unavailable. The area of the restaurant where we were seated was really rather cold. The radiators were warm and couldn't cope with cold evening.The food was only warm, not hot! The staff were doing their best and working really hard but overall not a great experience. I shall not be going back on a cold evening again.

Service was good & food was ok but the atmosphere is awful. The same people in there every weekend don’t care about others eating or wanting some peace, kids running around & screaming. Way too much noise if you’re thinking of having a lovely quiet meal on a weekend.
