Golden Palace in Rochford

Spent an hour sitting waiting in their reception, only had a very small order, someone walked in 40 minutes after me and requested theirs ASAP and pushed him up the order and received it 5-10 minutes later, received the food FINALLY and was luke warm, will not be returning, a shame really

Tuesday night, 7pm, ordered food from here as my usual was closed, reviews werent great but i thought lets give them a go. 52mins for food, 2 miles from me, on a tuesday night, asked if we get prawn crackers, yes no problem they come with the food, no prawn crackers, not a deal breaker. food was greasy and a bit slimy, if thats wasnt a warning, my morning poo definatley was. want to to lose some weight order food from this place. wont be going back

this is the first time i have ordered from here and the food was lovely, nice and hot and delivery was quick too!! will deffo be ordering again. 5*

Always great food, best Chinese in Rayleigh!

Wrong priorities. Walk in customers are treated like second rate citizens. Have been told a 25 minute (minimum) wait at the premises. Home deliveries take priority over customers that can be bothered to turn up at the outlet and collections are often not ready on the timeframes suggested. A shame because the food is generally very good. Owner needs to re-evaluate and prioritse customers that are on-site or there to collect. If over phone only customers have to wait a bit longer, so be it. I suggest they get off the sofa and collect.

Terrible service, constantly getting orders wrong. Told a waiting time and still sitting there 60 minutes afterwards. Staff dismiss you and then make you come back to the shop after they have got your order wrong. Steer clear of this Chinese. Hong Kong Chef is a lot better! We will not be getting our food from here again!

Really vile the chow mien tasted like cigarettes, it was cold, the prawn toast wasn’t even soggy it was wet. Just really unpleasant.

Food took a while to arrive, as they only had 1 delivery driver. Was not impressed with the ribs

Shamble has to be the most disorganised takeaway in Rayleigh from observation when you ring up and they say on the way, it's a lie. The ordering system is out of the ark and the queue doesn't exist. Steer clear for an easier life. No heating either.

We ordered a delivery this evening absolutely fabulous especially the chicken noodle soup. Chow mein all of it great food even the happy delivery man 😀👌

Awful don't waste your time, ordered at 5pm told 45 minutes wait for delivery. Had to call several times to see where order was, finally arrived at 6:30! Called to complain as food cold, was told we should return the food if we wanted a refund. 2 hungry little boys at home who were so excited for a Chinese, night ruined. £40 wasted!!!!

Never order here unless you’ve got three hours to waist. Manger always busy. Also have to wait 20 minutes for compensation

waited over 1hr and 50min for food and it turned up cold .i think they should stop taking orders if delivery times are more than an hour. shame as be going there for many years will be looking for a new place in the future

Just ordered a takeaway this evening when it arrived after an hour the food was lukewarm to cold it cost just shy of £40.00 when complained asked if I would like them to resend the meal I said no what would I like asked for my money back was refused unless I sent the food back I had already bined in my recycling bin along with other food won't use this again. Lesson learned

Always busy Friday & Saturday nights but really nice food and usually worth the wait

Ordered a takeaway delivery and waited 1;30 hrs , chased several times but got the normal “just coming out” with driver” etc the fact is when it arrived it was Luke warm so couldn’t have been just cooked Very disappointing

The best takeaway in Rayleigh. Has been for years. They get really busy so pick up if possible.

1st time ordering from here, had to wait 90 minutes for it but wow , soo good could not fault it, will definitely be ordering from here again !

Hand's down the best Chinese takeaway in Rayleigh! This place is in high demand so be patient! Well worth the wait! I found myself craving ordering from here again the following day! Uncle Roger would be proud!

Tonight is the second time ordering from this Chinese. I have lived in Rayleigh for two years now after moving from Rochford where they have a few decent Chinese takeaways. Rayleigh don’t seem to have any decent Chinese places apart from this one which was delicious yet again and exactly how a Chinese should be. Will continue to order only from here now

We ordered tonight king prawns balls but it was just full of batter! Very disappointing 😞

Just had king prawns in capital sauce, superb.

Unfortunately a very poor experience. After multiple chases I cooked dinner myself, then was surprised by a delivery 2.5 hours later which I turned away (at nearly 10pm which is way past my bedtime theses days). Maybe great food but sadly never tried 😕.

I love this chinese! We order from here every month. Expect it to take a while on Saturday nights, but the food is always hot and perfect. Their chips and curry sauce are to die for, I even got my cousin on them and now she's obsessed. Of all the times I've eaten from here I've only ever had one issue with my order and that was that the chips were missing (I was devastated) but I called up and they were apologetic and delivered them to me. Lovely chicken balls, spring rolls, singapore rice noodles, beef in black bean - I love it all!

First and last time ordering. I ordered early for collection, half an hour later I pick up my food and it was stone cold and tasteless. How can the food be cold half an hour after ordering! The pancake rolls were nice but I could taste satay sauce, which was either in the rolls or the curry sauce was tainted. I should have listened to my friend. Awful.

Food OK, but for the last 4 or 5 orders, they give you a time of 45 minutes or 1hour for collection, and then we end up waiting inside the takeaway for another 20 - 30 minutes for it to be ready! Won't order again here for this reason.

Ordered from here MANY times. Always delicious and the staff are nice and friendly.

Normally ok a bit of time to wait but tonight its over 2 hours long dont think the food will be nice

Best Kung Po ever. I am addicted. I moved out of the area over 4 years ago, but we still pop back just for this food. Also the staff are all really friendly. A nice family run business. Still going strong. Had another one last night.

Best chinese in Rayleigh. Big portions, always hot, tastes great. Sometimes have to wait a bit longer but that's because they do get busy which is a good sign.

No maners at all,the kitchen is so dirty and unclean.

If you are vegetarian or vegan avoid like the plague. They have no respect for these diets and don't care when they get it wrong. They have been given several chances on this matter and regularly leave egg etc. in the rice. They have also very blatantly lied to me about the ingredients of their food to make an order. I have been promised the pancake rolls are vegan only to find chunks of meat. I have been told noodles are wheat but suspect this is another lie as generally all other chinese have stated egg.

Always had tasty food from here. Vermicelli Noodles great. Ribs always good and never had an issue in 10 years of using them. I am not local any more and miss the food. Only issue was sometimes a long wait for delivery.

Unfortunately our favourite Chinese has closed. Tried same food but not as good. 😥

Not even worth 1 star absolutely disgusting, greasy and no idea with spices and infusion, really really horrible, all takeaways around Rayleigh and WICKFORD awful, will never order from here again£32 for 2 total rip off

Has gone down hill massively in the past year. Serving times are getting slower, and food getting served cold. Meanwhile portions are getting smaller. Not a one off, definitely a pattern. They also have indifferent counter workers, swearing and arguing among other staff. Has gone from the best Chinese in Rayleigh to a miserable disappointment.

This has been my go to Chinese takeaway for the past 12 years, cannot fault it, the best by far!

Brilliant. Fresh tasty inexpensive Chinese food. A long way from us but worth the drive to pick it up.....

This shop is what I would call a basic, old fashioned 80s style Chinese take away... I don't mean that to be rude, but it's basic appearance and operation is still workable and offers the best prices for the customer (all about food and not about looks!). The food is always hot, well presented and really tasty! I would certainly recommend Golden Palace to anyone; food and cost are certainly worth it.

I don't like veg and they will tailor to that

Said it would b 30-40 mins ended waiting in there 55-60 mins. Pineapple fritters were literally uncooked runny dough inside and satay chicken was warmed up day b4 rubber food, uneaterble. But to wait for it I thought it’d b piping but it was lukewarm. Been going since I was a boy but just lost my custom. £40 worth food ruined

The shop could do with updating, but the food is really nice here and the portions are very hearty.

Excellent Chinese food. More than happy to accommodate requests for dishes not on the menu.

Such a shame that the food is great but worse than ordering from McDonald's, 3rd time my order was wrong and then the customer service after was appalling.

Stopped in for a Chicken and Mushroom while waiting on a late night call out job to resolve. Best chinese food I've had in ages. Lots of chicken, really tasty and no funny veg like carrots. It looked as good as it tasted. I only wish it was closer to home.

Not once have they ever got my order completely right.
