Having chose a what I thought was a safe bet my partner ordered me a ploughman's which turned out something far from satisfactory, the two pieces of bread were stale and the cheese grated and not a whole piece as normal and three pickled onions. Total rubbish and casting £10 never again.
All I can say is wow! Food was out of this world and all staff friendly and helpful. Hubby and I spontaneously decided to stop for something to eat and even through they were very busy fitted us in and still the service was spot on. I am a fussy eater but nothing was to much trouble. Well done guys we will be back very soon!

What a fabulous bloke that makes a delicious coffee and talk motorbikes! Win win for me! Then a 🐻 in my ☕️ what a star! If you want a good coffee and great service visit here please!
Fantastic fish & chips! Really good menu choices, great quality food, all cooked fresh & beautifully packaged. We were really impressed. There are picnic tables set out with a view of the sea (& salt & vinegar on each). We sat there to eat ours.
Would highly recommend.
We’d booked a table for Maunday Thursday. We arrived early to have a drink and sat in the bar area at a free table looking out at the view to the salt marshes. That table wasn’t booked but we were asked to move to ‘our’ table in the newly refurbished room at the rear of the pub. It was empty, soulless and had no views. It was more like an average cafe. We were seated at a table next to a counter with a coffee machine. So staff were bustling in and out with hot drinks which were being taken through to the main pub area and we had to talk over the machine. . Because we were celebrating, we ordered the sirloin steaks. Sadly, what arrived was fatty and tough despite apparently being cooked ‘medium rare’. The only accompaniments were a metal container of frozen chips and a small garnish of salad leaves - the cost £64! That was before the cost of starters and a bottle of wine. A complete rip off. We decided not to waste our money in desserts. The staff apart from one girl appeared inattentive and disinterested. It’s such a shame because the pub used to have an excellent reputation.
Just arrived in Blakeney and took a stroll and popped into the White Horse for drinks and was welcomed by the bartender who made us do welcome
This pub is absolutely spotless and the staff make you feel so welcome
Put the faith back into British pubs
We had half an hour to kill, so wandered around and luckily discovered this super pub.
We got a warm welcome at the bar – and some advice on the drinks choice. This was really helpful, as we ended up discovering a (new to us) beer that we loved. So much so, that we stayed for another round.
Sitting out in the suntrap at the back was a real treat. We’ll definitely be back.
We walked from Burnham Overy Staithe to Holkham, intending to have a quick pint at The Victoria before catching the bus back. Unfortunately you can't do this any more as they have closed the bar. We did have two small but delicious tapas in the restaurant along with a glass of wine and a beer, but it seemed expensive at £34.
So the place is great for a posh lunch, but in future we will walk from Holkham to Burnham Overy and have a pint at the Hero.
First class seafood from a delightful couple.
When I explained that I hadn’t really had a crab-based meal before the gentleman helpfully talked me through the varieties on the menu.
I had the crab royal salad and it was fresh, all ‘ready to eat’ and served with bread and butter and a cuppa. A lovely plate of food and all that I had hoped for.
I chose a glorious day and sat outside.
Will 100% return when next back in Norfolk.
Went for a meal with our small dog whilst on holiday. They don't take bookings, had hoped they may make an exception as I was in a walking boot and on crutches and explained we'd be walking from our cottage so wanted to ensure it wasn't a wasted walk. They didn't - to be fair we did get in as was quiet.
Told on arrival at 8.05 that they only do fish n chips after 8. We weren't told this earlier, but meal was decent.
However "dog friendly" is not an accurate description. Our small dog tried to get on my lap and I asked if he could sit on the seat if I put him on his own blanket - landlord said no and claimed he didn't make the rules. Who does then? , but ok, fair enough.
We then asked them to put some water in our dogs travel bowl. We were told only if he goes outside to drink it , as they don't want dogs sloshing water everywhere!
I have never heard anything so ridiculous! It's a pub, spillages happen - and it was a hard tiled floor. What happens if someone spills a pint I wonder!
We later in our trip went to the white horse and the manor hotel, which are more upmarket, and they were truly welcoming of us and our dog. In fact our dog tipped his water bowl over on the carpet in the manor hotel bar and they just said - oh no problem, don't worry.
Will not return as we didn't feel valued as customers and our dog was tolerated, rather than welcomed.
I would not recommend le moon, abysmal service, i travelled back home and realised they gave me the wrong food, called them and had to return to get the correct food, the food was BELOW STANDARD and nothing special, I would not recommend this take away/restaurant to anyone. 1 star is being generous. THIS RESTAURANT NEEDS CLOSING DOWN
Had a mid afternoon Sunday lunch here, absolutely fantastic all 4 meals including starters desserts and cheese was all delicious, great friendly service and nice sensible price wine
Went on the Missippi boat and the location / ambient nature of the place was nice.
Food expensive but the river is cleaner than Wroxham which we also love.
The stores were closed but recommended.
