Two Magpies Bakery, Wells-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk

Great cafe, one of the best we had been in on our 2 week holiday. Cake selection was enormous, coffee tasted great, toilets sparkling clean & friendly service. I can see why it's so popular, highly recommend!

We had a day at Wells and popped in here for tea, cappuccino and cakes. This was the first time we had been here. First impressions were good but the food quality was a big let down. I had a lemon cake which looked nice but was "strange" to eat. Very sticky, slimy and sickly. My wife had a chocolate cake which she said was rock hard. I didn't sample it as I don't eat anything with chocolate in, or on, it. The drinks were okay but the tea wasn't that hot. Tight squeeze between seats and tables and toilets in need of a clean. Won't be back.

On the surface this place looks like it’s getting it right, but the food doesn’t match its appearance, tasting cheap and stale. Add the utterly miserable staff and it’s one to give a miss. Shame really.

Sourdough mozzarella and tomato take away was £11. We thought this was extortionate and promptly left. A shame as croissants had been recommended

Best selection of gluten free cakes ever. Lots of choice and all luxurious and tasty. A great treat everyday whilst on my holiday. Only gripe....if only some of the wonderful looking savoury items we also GF!

While the bakery looks aesthetic, once again there were flies all over the baked goods. I asked for an amended item due to an allergy and the cook and server were both extremely rude about it. It’s very over priced for the quality of food and drink, bad hygiene and poor service. There are far better places in Wells to get a coffee.

My husband and I visited with our two dogs and were welcomed inside. We ordered a hot chocolate, a cappuccino and shared a croque monsieur. Food was delicious, drinks were great and staff were friendly. By the time we left, c20 mins later, every chair in the cafe was full.

Was completely put off by the flies crawling over the baked goods in the window - surely it's not that hard to have them covered ? Needless to say I walked out without purchasing

We have been here 3 times now. Fabulous sandwiches, cakes, and coffee. Staff are really helpful, and the surroundings and location are perfect. Nothing more to say, really.

We sat for 15 minutes at one of the small tables outside and enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the harbourside on a busy Saturday morning. The coffee was good and we were absolutely spoiled for choice with a mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries. The lemon slice I chose was delicious and I would have loved to sample many more items!

Took my friend here for the first time and was really excited to come as the Blakeney cafe is fab, but the girl who served me behind the till treated me like I was a bit stupid when I ordered 2 Coffees and a cake, not sure if I had said something really rogue but the same thing happened before weeks ago and just assumed she was having a bad day, but yesterday again and it’s really off putting. No manners and a blank expression, I felt like I had asked for something you didn’t do? Just really odd. Can’t fault the coffee and cake but not sure I’ll make a third trip back to this one.

Had lunch here today and all I can say was that the food was very disappointing I had fritatta and my partner had a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich The frittata was brought to me and was cold tasteless and had no seasoning what’s so ever the whole thing was dry and ver unappealing The toasted sandwich was greasy and chewy almost inedible I have been in the food business most of my life and enjoy going out to try other places but given the price it was not a good food experience and would not recommend to anyone give it a miss

Service mediocre Wanting to pay so asked the woman making the coffee she said "Over there" pointed and carried on talking to her colleague! Went and asked another waitress where do I pay? She said "over there" pointed and carried on Had to get in a long queue of people out the door to come back in to pay...I could have walked off but didnt !!!! Got nearly to end of queue...the man in front asked for something and got sssh! When I finally got to try to pay ....I was told wait a minute while the waitress had a drink of her coffee! No sorry for the wait Really improve your customer service...you're never too good that you can let that go!!! Will not go in there again!

Amazing pastries make up for the mediocre coffee! I have never tasted such fabulous pastries! The almond and chocolate croissants are to die for! They are a meal in themselves. Unfortunately, the coffee is relatively poor. I tried a takeaway cappuccino on several occasions and threw it away. Sort this out, and I would say perfection ! But undoubtedly, coffees are as important as the food, nowadays so please fix this !

Stopped here for coffee and cakes. Great coffee. Amazing cakes - very generous portions and absolutely delicious, some of the best I have ever had - thank you!!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent, the staff were friendly. The tea, made with loose leaf tea was very good. You can also buy bread.

Excellent little find with friendly staff. I enjoyed a lovely latte and gingerbread brownie. There were so many lovely looking cakes too. Will definitely visit again on my next trip.

We arrived ten minutes before they were due to close at 4pm but we were welcomed by a very pleasant young man. Excellent tea made with leaves; I had a hot chocolate which was good too & we all had something from the baked goods selection. All very satisfying. Just what we needed after our walk from Burnham Overy Staithe. No sense of being rushed. Take note teashops in Stratford on Avon!

A wonderful little bakery. Excellent choice of light meals and fresh bakes. Staff friendly with a happy atmosphere. We will be returning.

A really disappointing doughnut! It had no flavour (bar the sugar which reminded me of doughnuts when I was little) the filling was sparse inside and I’d had better from a supermarket bakery. The coffee is nice here but overpriced for what it is. Can see why some would love it, but will stick to family bakery in town.

Fantastic , bright airy space . So nice to see a decent bakery in Wells . Long time coming . Food and presentation lovely . Freshly squeezed orange juice . Sausage rolls and cakes fresh and delicious . Staff very efficient and pleasant , even when so busy . Well done !

Our drinks and cookie were fine but wouldn’t bother again as overflowing waste bin on table beside help yourself sugars etc it should have been on floor.

Really lovely cafe great food and cakes!! Coffee nice and staff very pleasant. Dogs welcome would come back if this way xx

We first came here for just a coffee after cycling from Field Dalling; the coffee was fabulous (we had two) as was the bread that we took away with us. We returned on our last day for brunch; my husband thinks this was the best bacon brioche he has ever had and my avocado with halloumi and chilli jam brioche was amazing. Excellent service, fabulous coffee and food; we have been recommending this to our friends who visit Norfolk regularly and eagerly await our chance to go back here.

Visited cafe with my wife had lunch etc what a fantastic choice of food and cakes,didn’t have to wait to long for food and drinks.Staff we’re very helpful. Why can’t similar cafes do the same choices instead of bland stuff. Well worth a visit.
