Nice place to eat and drink, large pub with garden

Excellent and I will keep coming to the Henry as I am a regular as I have been for years and the staff are very helpful*****

Update: We had a table booked at the Running Horse, but they failed to tell us they were closed due to a burst water main. We headed around to Henry IV and despite being busy they fit us in straight away and there was no long wait for food. The roast was delicious and the gravy perfect! Thank you! Popped in spontaneously on a Monday evening for an impromptu date night with my husband. It was quiet but we like it like that sometimes. Both had steak and desserts - the choc sundae is a beast! Olivia and Jas were friendly, kind, curtious and helpful, and most importantly looked genuinely happy in their jobs! It makes all the difference! Thanks for a lovely evening. Now to rest our full stomachs!

Went to Game night: boogie woogie bingo and play your cards right. Fantastic evening out with friends and family with lots of amazing opportunities to win! Won a tray of shots !! Fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend Food at The Henry is always 10/10 !!!

Great place to go for good, filling food and a great relaxed atmosphere. Portion sizes are big, food is tasty and cooked to order. Varied food and drinks menu. Always feel welcome here. The staff are brilliant and always willing to help. Sport is shown on the TVs,but it's not obnoxiously loud. Booths are available with TVs which is great if you have small children! Cater for solo diners/drinkers to groups.

Fantastic service everyone was happy in our party of 10. Another visit but just the 3 of us and food and service is still fantastic even under new management. Another fantastic meal tonight for the 3 of us superb service and good quality food many thanks for your hard work

Good local pub with wide ranging typical pub grub, enjoyed whilst watching football. Quite busy on the Sunday evening. Tikka chicken was tasty.

Food wasn't that good in fact quite tasteless, it was reheated by the microwave, and the beef had black bits around the edges very overdone, we had pigs in blanketswhich were anemic looking!! We definitely wouldn't go there again.

We visited on Sunday originally booking for 6 people then called up to amend to 15 people including 3 children the night before . The staff were amazing and managed to fit us all in even on such short notice . The food was incredible with starters , mains and desserts . Everyone left very happy , the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them . Thankyou again

Ate in small courtyard garden at the rear of the pub where there was a nice covered gazebo as well as occasional tables and seating in the open. Chose from an extensive menu, which covered most tastes. The food was tasty and very good value and was served promptly. Good experience overall.

Incredibly wide choice of food menu including vegan options (even vegan onion rings!!!), the hostess was incredibly kind, polite, and attentive. A wide selection of beers on tap and soft drinks. Friendly bar service also.

The food was great?good value for money. We ordered flat breads with lamb koffte, but unfortunately, there are a few flies flying around at one point. I thought it was a sponsor a pet week one landed in my friends food and died in the sauce a lovely lady swapped the food stright away but couldn't give us one that we had originally ordered they were none left so had to have second choice but the time it came back 20 mins cheesey chips were stone cold and inedible were we told the waiter he said yeah I know abut the flies sorry about that .But mine was nice but my friend was completely put off food when you do go in bring your own fly swat.

Had a great meal- had short rib of beef ( from Gluten free menu) Top Tip !!! Try it! Helena served us and she knows her stuff- my son had a few popcorn chicken missing and Helena sorted it straight away. Cheers!

Myself and my Husband visited today for the first time, it was for my birthday lunch. The food was delicious! The portion sizes were great and the prices were excellent especially with their meal offers, friendly staff and atmosphere and very clean, we will be visiting again! Well worth the 45 minute drive.

We visited the HenryIV yesterday for the first time. Initial impressions were fine as it has a reasonable size car park and the greeting by the barmaid with green hair was polite and friendly, even bringing our drinks to our table plus there were a dozen or so people in there even though they had only been open 45 minutes or so. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. I chose the meat pie, my wife the lasagna. Where do we start. The mash with the pie was a load of stodge, more easily cut with a knife than trusting a fork. The peas were hard and what little meat there was in the pie was of poor quality and fatty. To be fair the jug of gravy was fine and plentiful. As for the lasagna it was dry with a burnt topping. The advertised side salad consisted solely of limp lettuce leaves that were clearly past their sell by date. No tomato, cucumber or onion although when we left we did notice a solitary slice of cucumber on the floor a few feet from our table that I assume the male server had dropped from the plate whilst bringing it to our table. Both the ladies and gents toilets provide an experience with shoes sticking to the floor! Our expectations weren't high based on the pricing but we did expect the food to be edible and the property clean. Other pub chains can produce edible food at reasonable prices so why can't Greene King. We both agreed that it was one of the worst pub meal experiences we had had and needless to say we won't be returning as there are far better alternatives.

This pub is just fabulous. Proper pub food and skillets of sizzling char grilled food. The burgers are amazing too and all reasonably priced. It’s our fail safe go to stop on a Saturday because you know it’s going to be great.

Great value for money, the food is very good at a very reasonable price. It has really turned around for the better since our last visit a long while ago and would happily go back.

Joined some friends for the quiz - great evening. Friendly, attentive staff.

Good food good menu. Enjoyed it Had a rib eye steak. Asked for medium rare, and that is exactly what I got

Stopped off for a quick drink and snack en route to holiday home, did the job!

Little date night so tried somewhere different and it was absolutely amazing! Brilliant food, brilliant drink variety and great service. Will be coming here more often.

This is the most underrated place for great, cheap food. Although I'm not a big football fan, I can put up with the cheers and the boos for some food.

Popped in after a visit to Langham Glass , I had the mix grill which is a 4oz rump steak, gammon, chicken fillet and pork sausage with a free range fried egg and onion rings. Served with grilled tomato, chips and peas , cost £13.49 , I can honestly say its one of the best mixed grills I've had , a little over priced compared to some I've had , but I would gladly have it again 👍👍👍

Food was exceptional! And well worth it! Only pain point was you have to use an app, which in a world of apps is another one to download and it kinda takes away from the local pub/restaurant experience (in my opinion). However that is not to knock this lovely pub and experience. The staff are all friendly and hard working, plentiful parking out front. Kids area to the back as well as an Easter chick hunt to keep kids occupied. All round really really good and will certainly be back.

Good food at a reasonable price

There was one woman ahead of me at the bar, with a very lengthy food-and-drink order. Eventually the employee called in colleagues, and things then began to move quickly. I suggest that, as soon as staff are aware that a lengthy order is being placed, they immediately call for help.

Had a fabulous day on Easter doing arts and crafts and my little brother was drawing and staff members were helping and food was delicious 100% recommended (always come to the henry)

I gave 2 stars for service. Bar was great, girls lovely. But food coming out was so slow. Everyone got serviced at the tables, before us, I feel it was because we were a table of eight, although we had booked. Finished up a rush, as some of us had appointments to get to.

Went for lunch to celebrate my daughter passing her driving test with family. Had a beautiful steak . All meals was delicious. My daughter loved the signature dish. Olivia was lovely. Her customer service was fantastic. A credit to the company. Will be going again. Thank you.

Went with my wife for a late afternoon lunch/dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Didn't want a roast so both choose off the main menu. I had the beef rib, and my wife had 8oz steak skillet. Both were great, were advised of a 40 minute wait when ordering because they were busy, we were happy with that as happy to chat, but came in 30 minutes. Fantastic meal and friendly busy staff. Food is absolutely smashing, great pricing and portions. The menu is vast and provides a brilliant gluten free menu.

Waited 40 minutes for the 8 meals to be served. Then the steaks served were unreadable so chewy.Did complain got price of one meal back. Very disappointed.

ordered meals for 5 people the first 2 came out with the wrong chips as we had asked for fries they then bought the other two out and some fries for the wrong chips 20 minutes later my husband still hadnt got his meal was told we hadnt ordered any more i assured them i had paid for a meal for him she went and checked and said i hadnt i argued that i had she checked again and we had ordered and paid for his meal. his meal finaly arrived after us four had finished ours, part of his food was so dry he had to pour his sauce over it. we got asked if our meal was ok before he got his we wont be going back

Been here a few times now, always friendly and efficient staff, manager and staff always make you feel welcome, food very tasty and hot, had steak last night and I've paid over double for steak in other restaurants for what we paid last night, and it's not been as good, so the kitchen staff are as good as front of house, should and will use more as we don't live far away and feel lucky to have this place in our town, try in you won't be disappointed.

The mea and service were very good. Not the owner's fault obviously, but the atmosphere wasn't brilliant due to very few people being in at that time. But still enjoyed it, all the same

As we live in the Midlands we visit relatives in the area for a seasonal get together and meal before we drive the 120 miles home. This year Henry IV was the chosen eatery, a place we have never visited. We were warmly welcomed in the invitingly, clean well laid out restraunt. We had pre ordered our food. The three courses were of excellent quality and plentifull. The staff ensuring all was in order. A pleasant time was had. I suspect we will visit again when in the area.

Came along for a Christmas work meal (team shamzing) and had such a lovely time! the food was brilliant and the staff were even better, friendly, welcoming, all in great spirits! fantastic evening all around.
