I really don’t know where the negative reviews come from for this place. I’ve ordered curries 7 or 8 times from here and the food has been consistently excellent. Once the food was about 25 minutes late, but still arrived hot and fresh. Bearing in mind this is a basically a cheap kebab shop, they are honestly turning out some of the best tasting curries I’ve ever had. I can’t speak for the kebabs or pizzas. Only ordered from the Indian.

New owners I believe they took over 2 years ago. Please please please SAVE your money. This is not the place where you order a curry, kebabs or definitely a burger. Curry was rubbish. Burgers I believe are frozen and not fresh. Kebab meat isn’t great at all. Royal Indian? More like rubbish Indian! If you want a proper Indian- curry got to the one across the road, our new favourite place.

Ordered a curry yesterday no rice came. The portions are getting smaller and smaller and quality not as good. This evening ordered a burger with bbq sauce and got it burger sauce. That spoilt my burger !!!!!

Ordered pizza family deal on just eat and they arrived burned! Called to complain and the guy on the phone told me they weren't all burned, only the margarita! So obviously knew they weren't good enough but sent them anyway! Won't be ordering again

After waiting 2 hours & 20 minutes for our delivery, & 3 different stories as to where our order was, I decided to request a refund, only to e told royal kebab had refused a refund & they hoped we enjoyed our food. Shocking response, considering we didn't even recieve our order, won't be using these again.

Ordered a kebab and this is what turned up. For £8.50 I was not really impressed the kebab was cold and tiny had about 5 bits of meat in. I won't be using them again

Visited her for the first time tonight I will say I found the stuff friendly enough and as for the food we must say was delicious the chicken in my wife’s kebab was tasty and juicy same as the chicken in my madras curry all was lovely and would definitely go back. Couple of down sides we found it a tad on the expensive side and my wife’s kebab was a little small for a medium and the saled was just lettuce and tomato but other then that it was loverly

This used to be a great takeaway, both for kebabs and Indian food. Can't comment on the Indian food, but had kebab etc tonight for the first time in a while - and what a disappointment! The chicken kebab was ok, described as regular, but in my view tiny compared to others I have had recently! Chips were awful, baked potato with tuna and mayo awful and with no bread as stated in menu, coleslaw slimy, and onion rings at £3.50 missing from the order. Expensive and so not worth the money.

Ordered through the app delivery was 1.45 late I rang the restaurant twice and was assured twice food was five mins away when the food did eventually arrive the onion bahji and the rice were stone cold and the chicken slightly warm. I paid £20.18 for a meal that could not be eaten. You can not request refund from the app and there is no way to complain on the app about cold food. I will not use these guys again and I was actually a regular customer

We have had our takeaways from The Royal Indian for years now, and loved them! However a few weeks ago our meal arrived over an hr later than we had been advised and one of the currys had burst in the bag ruining everything as well as it all being cold. We called and Hilmi advised he would replace our food for free next time we ordered as he was so busy he couldn't do anything to sort our food out at that time. We called tonight to order and were told 'sorry we cant do that' Hilmi isnt here! Not a good enough system, when you mess up an order, refund it, dont just keep mental notes to replace meals! We are so disappointed 😕

Ordered online through the website, no delivery despite clear address and instructions, multiple calls over an hour and a half and still no resolution. When direct contact made to the premises they said they “couldn’t find the address” despite clear instructions. After requesting a refund they REFUSED and wouldn’t give any contact information on who to speak to regarding the refund. Every-time I called back they just hung up. Extremely rude and abysmal customer service. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely disgusting experience. Called a total of 16 times over nearly 2 hours asking where my food was. Was dismissed saying it left 5 mins ago. Same line every time which is clearly a fob off. Was hung up on and told to f-off twice! Food arrived 2 hours late and freezing. Refused to accept it. Shouted at me telling me never to order from them again. 😂 as if I would! Insane attitude to have- this was my first time ordering with them! AVOID!!!!!’

Ordered a burger, chips and a drink. Friendly service, cheaper than Macdonalds and much much nicer!

Barely adequate. Ordered spicy 12" spicy kabano. 3 thin slices of spicy sausage and no jalepenos at all. Tasted more spice in HP sauce!

Tried them again tonight after waiting some years. I moved from the city and have and never will pay £1.90 per popdom... I normally order from the city £3 delivery, free mint dip with the popodoms and the food is amazing. My last and only try here. Please feel free to rip off the holiday makers but anyone wanting good food purchase from Norwich. ..Ordered on Just Eat. They accepted the ordered we waited and waited to then be told the money had been refunded. No one answering the phone and too late by this point to order with someone else. Terrible service will never use again.

After ordering from The Royal for 12 years I am discusted at the standard of the food they serve, when ordering a kebab you use to get onions, red cabbage, Tom's, etc but now you get a measly bit of iceberg lettuce , not even a slice of cucumber, and a quarter 2 pieces of tomato, even the chips and a tiny pitta bread were anaemic!!!!! Don’t order from here. First of all, waste of money. Second of all the staff were so rude, absolutely no manners what so ever. Thirdly, they forget all our drinks, we asked for them to be delivered as they weren’t exactly cheap and they said ‘no’😂. Lastly, we payed 8 quid for chicken wings which were burnt and only got 3 for 8 quid.

Ordering was straight forward and everything ordered turned up and was piping hot. The delivery guy was very friendly and polite. We were dissapointed in the onion bhajis as they were very dry. The pickle tray too wasn't the best. We had 8 poppadoms and the pickle pots were small. The saving grace though were the curries. We had 4 different ones and each one was of very good quality. They fitted the description given in the menu perfectly. These were accompanied by portions of chips and pilau rice which were fine and plentiful

Second time I have ordered from here, both times my drink has been forgotten and when my food arrives it's leaked and spilt over everything else. Food isn't up to scratch either.

We were staying in Wroxham on a houseboat nearby and ordered our meals online via the the Royal Indian web site. We picked it up at the time said and we were very pleased with the starter and main course. Well worth a visit here.

Staying nearby and ordered via JustEat. Had a few reservations as the reviews are really good or really bad. However food arrived in time- received a call when the driver got here. Food was hot. Food was really delicious all 4 of us were very happy with the order. Wouldn’t hesitate in ordering again

Ordered Meal for 2 - £28.95 - Great Dishes, lovely starters, Value for money.. Easily fed 3 x people. Had twice now and will definitely go for a third next time I have Indian..

The place is a health hazard , and 15 people live upstairs!!!! Its a warm bed joint.

Had to give this one star due to the person serving the food coughing all over the food he was serving. He was that ill he shouldnt have been working with food.

Brilliant staff freshly cooked food they do kebab Pizza jacket potato and Indian food reasonably priced always made the fill very welcome when walking but there is no parking and they do not accept credit cards or any sort of cards it's cash only and you can't sit in and eat there's just a little waiting room depending on what you order depends on how long you will be Saturday as pizzas are made fresh kebabs are made fresh chicken made fresh and Indian made fresh but they go as fast as they possibly can to make sure you get your food piping hot

Great takeaway-lots of zesty and fresh flavours in food cooked to order, all prepared and delivered in quick time. Sadly, we don’t live locally, but if we did, we would be regulars.

I have been a loyal customer for many many years ... The food tasted alright ... but the part that got me was it was stone cold when I got it delivered had to microwave it for nearly 5 minutes ... I phoned up and the owner was rude and blunt ... for now on i will be using kebab hut at least they are polite

food tasted ok not great. ask for vegetable samosas and got meat ones. ask for a bottle of lilt got tango , one curry was oily the other sauce was really thick and clumpy.

Food taste was pretty good, however the dhansak was too sweet for my taste, not enough lentil texture and also too oily. Had better, had worse. Fast delivery arrived in about 30mins, 30mins earlier than estimated. On holiday so might consider ordering again if we come back to the same area.

disappointed vindaloo was bland and dansak like. their vindaloo is normally best around and the rice was not great. Will put down to a bad experience on this occasion..

really really disappoint with this order from Friday evening, always use your take away 2/3 times a week and usally faultless, last night how ever I found the lamb in my curry chewy n generally Uneatable also the chicken tikka stater was not great with hardly any meat on it .... like I say this is one bad one to many good ones, defo a disappointment 👎
