Labone Indian Cuisine in North Norfolk

Tried tonight again after a few years,food was great,had the 'phal',not that hot tbh considering.the phal had more flavour then the vindaloo considering its supposed to be alot hotter which it wernt in my opinion.great Tasty food tonight

Certainly not the best Indian we had eaten. Not as spicey as we normally expect and texture bit odd. At just under £100 for 4 we could have found a better take away in the vicinity!

Delivery food was awful ! Inedible Dhansak and Biriany waste of £35 ! On ringing to complain told we’ll deliver it again ! Dhansak no sign of lentils and sauce very sour ,biriany meat like rubber and sauce bland ,only edible food was naan ! don’t bother!

Stumbled across this place after finding the local pub doesn't serve food on a Sunday night and we can't believe our luck. The service was friendly and attentive, great atmosphere for a date night and the food was the best Indian we've had in ages. Portion size and price were fantastic. We're not from the area but will be recommending it to the family we came to visit.

The Food as usual was fantastic, but the service was very poor. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and It took over an hour and twenty minutes to be served our dinner. One of the waiters came to the table whilst we were waiting to ask if we had any jobs going and when we complained about the wait, he laughed and said they have just had a big table to serve to which our reply was what ever would it be like if the restaurant was busy! As a local group of friends we have visited the restaurant many times over the years and I have to say that we were so disappointed with the level of service compared to normal! When we paid another waiter took the Cash Payment and then came back to the table to question how much we had put in the wallet, he recounted it in front of us and realised we had paid more than enough and he scuttled away again. We had Paid more than the bill total and without even asking the staff assumed the extra was a tip, which it was even though the service was terrible but the question should always be asked! Overall disappointed with the restaurant which has always previously been fantastic!

Delicious food - King prawn shashlick bhuna - showstopper. Hubby very happy with his chicken jalfrezi. Sides of sag aloo, bhajis and naan - not sure how we ate it all. Long walk to walk it off - but so worth it!

Lovely food. Arrived quickly, well packed & piping hot. We had Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Madras & Chicken Kormas. Plus a variety of rices & onion bajis. Very flavoursome, quality meat used & plenty of it. Can’t fault it. Well done 👏

My food was too charred, I had Lamb , and it was black, ascwere the onions and peppers ,the Peshawar Naan Bread didnt have any sultanas and very little coconut. I was disappointed with the food not up to the usual standard I have come to expect from this restaurant.

I was advised that this Indian was such a lovely place to eat from. I was utterly disappointed to say the least paid £30 for 2 curries that were awful… chicken was soooo dry and one of the sauces was tasteless. Only thing that was nice was the rice.

Service was poor food was not brilliant some of my party didn't enjoy at all it's a shame for an award winning place that has let the award go to there head and forget about what they do sorry but would not be returning

Our meal this evening. Surprisingly the service wasn't good. We'd booked a table and were seated and then ignored. Order taken for poppadoms but not for anything else. Subsequently when they realised...we were asked for our order while eating poppadoms! Not ideal. Then we had a very very long wait for our meals to arrive. I should add that the restaurant wasn't overly busy... another 15 people already eating when we arrived. There were a lot of staff on duty. Food was ok although some of us thought the flavours weren't as good as they've been previously. Saag paneer was overcooked and our onion bhajis were burnt. No one ever came to ask us if everything was ok. Plates were taken away, hot towels appeared by magic...which was the highlight of the evening....and again we were left. Then not one but two waiters about 5 minutes apart came and waved a solitary dessert menu at us. We declined and after another 10 minutes I had to ask for the bill. Which upon reflection was probably overpriced for the evening we'd had. Shame as we've eaten here previously...but tonight they weren't on top form.

Not as good as it used to be. We've had many takeaways from here which have been mostly very nice, but the most recent time we went in for a meal it took almost an hour for the food to arrive after ordering, staff were a bit all-over the place, and the food was bland and burnt (very disappointing when it was not a cheap meal!). While the atmosphere is quite nice, if you're planning on going out for an Indian I would recommend Indian Spoon in Wroxham instead, the food is much nicer and the service much better. Not an award-winning experience.

Having eaten here for 30 years or so the last few visits have been poor, I think my last visit has happened. The level of service is zero. Having to go to the bar to get drinks, having to ask for menu's, no interaction with the staff at all. Once main courses were finished nothing happened. We were going to have deserts, coffee, liquers etc but nothing happened. So we asked 3 times for the bill, finally it came, expensive for what we got, if we had attentive service they could of had another £50 out of us and we would have been happy but instead a poor show from an award winning resturant. Improvements needed quickly but too late for us.

I think the chef forgot to add the spices to all of our dishes. So bland , tasteless and dry . Worst curry I have had in a long while I’m afraid. Nil point from me!

Went week away in North Walsham for holiday & birthday treat.. the restaurant was lovely inside.. asked for vindaloo as I'm from Midlands & love my curry's hot.. omg what a disaster.. the chef put chilli powder in curry & it was so hot & was just the taste of chilli powder... no taste or flavour... didn't eat it as it would have upset me & could have been ill.. went & been sick as it burnt my throat.. manager said didn't I av a bad day .. meaning chef can av bad day in kitchen... he was rude & my birthday was ruined... never there fault... God I was so upset.. my boyfriend was just mortified as he was listening to manager go on about how good chef is.. I'm not allowed an opinion omg... was recommended the place by owner of restaurant in sherringham which iv been to lots of time in past.. always has amazing curry there... got my money back for my curry but not same..

Tried their Takeaway service after a friend had a meal there and said was good. I have to disagree, the lamb in my main dish was tough, the side dish was just a mush. Only when I had paid was I informed of the 40 minute wait. I do not recommend this company for Takeaway meals.

Have to say one of the worst curries I’ve ever had chicken was rubbery and stringy, no flavour everything just tasted bland.

So in Norfolk for a weeks break. Curry is always on the cards so found Labone within 25 minutes drive from our stay. It was an early evening so the restaurant was not busy. Friendly staff. Food was good and tasty. A little different from what we would normally experience at home but we put that down to regional differences. But a good meal at a reasonable price.

We visited on a Monday night with some friends who live in the area. We opted for the Monday night set menu. For £21.95 you get a choice of starter,side, main and rice or naan. We started with poppadoms and accompanied our meal with cobra beer. The food was excellent. If we had one criticism it is the waiters hovered. Nice decor and convenient for the nearby carpark.

We hadn't been out for a curry for a while. We used to eat at Labone in Sheringham when we lived nearby. Having recently moved to the area, Labone in North Walsham was a no-brainer. We weren't disappointed. Conveniently situated a very short walk from Mundesley Road Car Park, that's free after 6pm. On arrival were pleasantly surprised by the newly refurbished interior with subtle, restrained lighting and comfortable seating. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table, which was a comfortable distance from the next table. This meant that we didn't feel like we were sharing in the conversations of the occupants of the adjacent table. The menu is very diverse with some interesting and unusual offerings. After the customary poppadoms and pickles we were treated to some high quality food. The highlights for us were the Monkfish Bahaar and the Chicken Shashlick. The monkfish dish consisted of chunks of monkfish that had been gently cooked in delicious assortment of herbs and spices in a delicious thick sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked in the tandoor and was nicely charred on the outside, but soft, juicy and tender inside. Convenient location. Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. Great Indian food. I cannot fault Labone, North Walsham. We'll be back!

On holiday in Mundesley for 2nd time. 1st time we had a takeaway meal (2021). This year we had a meal in the restaurant 😋 Absolutely delicious....could not fault it.....thank you...

We had to spend the night in North Walsham and so were looking for somewhere to eat. It was a quiet Thursday and we were late. But they were happy to serve us so long as we ordered before 10pm. Ordered Monkfish Tikka and Prawn Masala. With a sag aloo, peshwari naan and pilau rice. Every single item was superb. Really superb. Lots of great spices and flavours in all the dishes. Five star for sure.

Been here several times and was quite good the first time . Went last night and the food was ok , nothing special for the price . Service lacked any engagement . You would have thought they didn’t want customers , but the big thing as to why Inwont go back is paying £7 for 2 x 1/3 of a pint flat lemonades . Wow - come I don’t mind paying that for a pint or 16oz with ice and lemon , but £3.50 . I can’t see this place been open in 12 months . Maybe cash reserves will keep it going

Extremely disappointed with the takeaway our family got from labone in North Walsham. The chicken in our meals was thin strips over cooked and very dry. The sauce was bland and in some dishes had split. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant as they apparently won an award but none of our large family of 8 could understand why the food was far beyond award winning. I'm not in anyway being unfair or vindictive , but trying to save people from wasting their money on food that is way off award winning. I hope management read this and can provide an explanation as to why it was so unsatisfactory. Very disappointed and as it was a family gathering & we hadn't seen each other for a year I was embarrassed to serve such a disappointing meal to my family after telling them its an award winning restaurant.

Average Indian food expensive and drinks pressured.

I went to Labone tonight with my partner 2 children(2 and 4) and my parents and it was our first time eating in the restaurant and I really cannot fault them in any way possible! The staff was very accommodating ,polite and really looked after us all! They made us feel extremely comfortable from the minute we entered! Our children absolutely loved having their first Indian dining experience also and they also cooked a special dish just for them! The food was absolutely amazing the best Indian we’ve ever had!!my 4 year old said the Peshawari Nann was better than chocolate so that must say something 😂we will be back every month for our quality family time! Thank you for making tonight amazing for our family and we will see you soon :)

We had a takeaway for two last night. Chicken tikka biryani. Both were semi warm, both did not have much flavour. Very disappointing. The vegetable curry was full of large lumps of white cabbage and very little sauce, making the whole dish dry. The pashwari nan was under cooked and a bit soggy. So ...we won't be rushing back for more !

This place has never seen a curry. Bland, overcooked meat, watery, flavourless. Don’t get Indian food in the south, they don’t know what it is. The fact there are loads of high reviews says a lot about the clientele! Avoid this place, it’s a waste of money.

Not as good as Manchester but for north Walsham you can’t go wrong. I’ve tried many places in the area now and these guys are the best! Extra Spicy and apna style!!! Tarka daal meat curry and chicken curry chefs special 👍🏼

It was my birthday so my Partner Son and Daughter In Law had dinner and a fantastic evening with first class food and service at La Bone in North Walsham.The atmosphere was brilliant.It was a very busy night but the Staff were friendly and professional .Best food we've eaten out in ages (and we eat out quite a lot). We will be back.

They forgot to put any spices in the dishes

Popped in on an almost dead Monday night because we fancied Indian on impulse. Service was great as we had the wait staff almost to ourselves, and the quality of food was similarly good. It's hard for me to gauge precisely how 'good' the food was because I was tempted by a lengthy and varied menu that had a bunch of dishes I hadn't tried before. I'll have the lamb jalfrezi or karai next time so I have a yardstick to compare to. That said, everything we ordered was yummy. We ended up slightly overordering so had to take a doggie bag home with us. Owner/maitre 'd' was chatty and welcoming, and we will be coming back again to try out some more of the menu.

We bought a takeout tonight for our final meal of our holiday. I phoned up to arrange collection and the service was lovely. The food was reasonable, but I was disappointed by the chips being French fries & not proper decent chips. The curry lacked flavour, although the kebab mixed starter was delicious. I wouldn't of paid the expense what we did for the food served. But left content and overall an okay standard.

We have eaten here and had take-aways many times when here in the summer and it has always been good. Our recent visit (Oct 2022) we were shocked at the increase in prices. We come from Hertfordshire, which is not a cheap area, but the meals here were, on average £2.50 more than our local restaurants and £7 for an onion bargee is ridiculous. I suppose being the only sit-down Indian in North Walsham means no competition to keep prices down. We shall not be returning.

We have had takeaways from here before tonight’s was very poor we had onion bhaji which where good chicken vindaloo chicken tikka Ceylon and chicken tikka achari vindaloo and Ceylon very watery and achari tasted like bbq sauce none had any texture just hot and...

Honest review. Ordered takeaway this evening 10/10/2022. I had "prawn garlic" for main , the prawns were super hard and chewy and very very fishy defo not fresh. My partner has lamb balti "holly grease balls" This was the worst part of the meal. The lamb itself was very nice and tender but the amount of grease in the curry was sickening and made in inedible. This local curry house definitely gone down hill since our last takeaway. I will certainly think twice before ordering again.

We always order for home delivery because we have a dog and don't eat out unless he can come. Use almost weekly and never had a bad meal. Had a mix up in order once and item was credited when i mentioned it the next...

Our go to Indian restaurant for take away or dine in. Food is always tasty and full of flavour wether take away or dining in, of course dining in always tastes better though. Normally with take away we collect. And majority of time it's ready to collect within 20 to 30 mins. Eating in is a very good experience. Waiting staff are a friendly team, welcoming and attentive. Happy to help if you are unsure on choice of dishes. Food always comes out piping hot. Dishes are very tasty with plenty of flavour. Restaurant itself is very clean and has a good atmosphere.

Wow!! We are not from around this area and when we asked about a good curry around the area, several people mentioned Labone.. The food was amazing! My husband had a Labone Special and I a Lamb Balti. Absolutely gorgeous and so full of flavour....

Food very good though would agree with some reviews that it is a bit expensive... especially so when you factor in a few drinks.. a meal of starters mains and a couple of side dishes plus drinks for two people came close to eighty pounds.. Eek..

Wow. outstanding food and simply the best in the whole Norfolk area. Service second to none and food a genuine taste of authenticity and pure freshness. Don't think twice if you're hungry and craving proper good food. Special shoutout to the man himself Saif. The Goat🐐.
