Entered the restaurant to be greeted by a miserable member of staff. Showed us to our table. Bearing in mind there was hardly anybody in the restaurant, the service with the menus, taking the drinks & food order was very slow. When the food arrived most of it was of a poor quality! On receipt of the bill they had the cheek to charge a 5% service charge! (If everything was ok we would usually tip 10%). Don’t waste your money visiting Le Moon.

…ruined by mediocre food and the grumpiest waiter ever. Automatically charged a tip which I refused to pay. Such a shame as I have great memories of the place but it is not what it used to be.

With friends for a takeaway meal. Ordered by phone and that should have told me how this was going to go, no warmth on the phone from the guy, barely spoke at all. Got there to collect, met with no smile at all, didn't look at us, said the price and pushed the card machine. Waited longer than I wanted, he makes you feel thoroughly unwelcome. When he handed to food over he didn't say our name or smile, just raised his head and nodded at us! No thank you, absolutely the worst server at any place I have ever encouraged wouldn't go again just because of him, I don't want to give him any more of our money. Disgusting service and very average food overpriced

I've not had good experiences with take away Chinese food so I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of Le Moon. I ordered chicken chow main and sweet n sour chicken balls. The chow main was really nice, it wasn't swimming in soy sauce you could taste each part of the food the veg was cooked to perfection and the whole taste was amazing. The chicken in batter was also good, nice chunks of chicken with a reasonable batter coating and a very very nice sweet n sour sauce. This is one place I WILL revisit

Just love it here. Does exactly as it should. Lots of fresh vegetables and classic UK Chinese food. Love the ambience as stuck somwhere back in the seventies. This adds to the appeal! Very reasonably priced dishes as well.

Truly awful. I wanted to walk out when the staff member was rude when we walked in. It was raining so we decided to stay. Food served cold. Barely edible. Grumpy miserable waiter and a SERVICE CHARGE! This place has nothing going for it at all.

I’ve been going here for a while, and to be fair the food has been okay at times but not great in Cromer in general so no choice, but the guy serving at main desk needs to learn manners and be careful who he try’s to talk too in that manner, I also said smile more and talk up, very rude individual, I put him in place in the nicest way given and said I won’t be returning again, trying to argue with a man who is a professional fighter and who is twice the size of him. Learn to respect your customers coz you might meet a person with not the same good nature as me, crazy dude, good job, i’m a nice guy. I say work on your customer service, no wonder i see more bad reviews on here does not surprise me in the slightest, you have lost a good customer.

We were seated but not asked if we wanted drinks, no prawn crackers or anything brought to the table , after ten minutes our order was taken. The service is no frills, no smiles, no pleasantries. The food was very nice, perhaps a little pricy but of good quality and very tasty. All the dishes were good. A knife would have been a nice touch, but only a fork and spoon provided. . When the bill was asked for , we were told how much it was and asked if we wanted the bill, to which we replied yes and noticed that a service charge is added automatically to the bill of 5% which we did pay , however the service was certainly the thing that let the place down. We would visit again as the food was good but only for a takeaway,

I visited the restaurant with two friends on a Friday evening at 7pm. We were seated quickly. Window seat in fact. We placed a large order & the food came in around 20 minutes. The food was good. But nothing special. Just ok. The biggest disappointment was the service. No smiles. No chat. Just took the order / delivered the food all with a miserable demeanor. I would eat here again if in Cromer. But would really hope for better service next time around.

This spot is great for a night time meal. The Ac added great satisfaction to the night. Xue the waiter was incredibly welcoming and quick with his service. FOOD WAS UNBELIEVABLE . GREAT NIGHT.

Never got to try the food as the waiter/ takeaway person totally ignored both my wife and I, we sat down and decided what we wanted from the menu and then spent the next 10 minutes trying to get his attention of which he said in a minute and on his third in a minute I we put our coats on and walked out - this young man was really arrogant and I can’t why he was like this probably because he was a waiter and dealing with takeaway’s at the same time but I would certainly give it a wide birth.

Ordered takeaway online and went to pick it up. Compared to their menu, they charge an extra 30p per item from ordering online, plus a service charge. Prawn crackers were amazing! Best prawn crackers ever. Ordered 1/4 aromatic duck with 6 pancakes, which was still on the bone and we had to shred ourselves. Could have done with more hoisin sauce as we had leftover duck. Had crispy beef and chips for main. Crispy beef was really nice, chips were pretty average for a Chinese. Overall fairly good, just quite pricy. In total it came to about £25, which is quite pricy for what we got, but decent quality.

Went for a meal last night was very nice. Staff were friendly and food hot and tasty and reasonable. Would return.

The worst Chinese we've ever had. No flavour,everything just tasted watery to the point we couldn't eat it. The prices are higher than elsewhere but don't mind paying for descent food which this definitely wasn't. Disappointed and angry they think this is acceptable

LE MOON does look rather run down from the outside and even trying to spy through the window during the afternoon was not successful. We turned up ready to try that evening and was Pleasantly surprised with the restaurant on the inside. The waiter sat us near the window and that seemed to work because within minutes other couples came in and told us that they also had had mixed feelings from the outside but seeing us made up their minds to come in. The Le Moon was clean and tidy and the food was of good quality at a fair price and we will definitely eat there again next time in Cromer.

Terrible service, in there for two hours, half hour eating, one and a half hours waiting. There was only two other couples in the restaurant all night !!!!! On a Saturday too !! The food was 8/10. Sort your resturant out .

We had a great late dinner here. We were a group of 11 people and found the service and food very good.

REVIEW WRITTEN ON BEHALF OF MY PARTNER WHO DOESN'T HAVE A TA ACCOUNTI was a bit apprehensive about coming here because of the reviews but after going to 2 expensive restaurants that had great reviews which turned out to be a disappointment I no longer trusted the reviews on TripAdvisor. So I took the chance in coming here as I craved for some Chinese food and it was local to where we were staying on holiday. It is a typical family run Chinese restaurant with the oriental decor which I found cosy. The waiter was calm and polite. We ordered chicken fried noodles, beef in black bean sauce, prawns in chilli & pepper, Singapore vermicelli, sweet and sour chicken, boiled rice and chicken wings. I asked if he by chance had some authentic Chinese vegetables which were not on the menu. He had some and cooked this for us and we all enjoyed the food, It was tasty and how Chinese food should be cooked. The only thing that was not to my liking was the chicken wings which was a bit hard. I'm glad we came here and did not listen to the reviews. We enjoyed the food so much we came back again on our last day. Considering how busy it was with a queue outside for takeaway orders and the phone ringing for orders and having to serve the customers at the restaurant area the manager did a great job getting the food out to us. I would recommend this restaurant.

When we arrived, the staff looked puzzled when we asked for a table. We assumed (rather incorrectly ) that it was busy. Turns out, we were the only people there. So we assumed (Rather incorrectly again ) that we would get served pretty quickly. We weren’t.We waited about 20 mins and nobody came to even take a drink or food order,then we left. Wouldn’t recommend.

Just awful. One waiter who really couldn’t be bothered. Beef in black bean sauce had some thick black salty gravy - disgusting - and the chicken in the chow mein was absolutely tasteless!! Do not waste your money. Pop round the corner and get yourselves a kebab

Me and my partner came here for dinner and the food was very very cold we approached the manager who told us to sit down he was very rude I would not recommend this to sit in or takeaway

We had a meal here the other evening before we went to the Cromer Pier show.. Our meals were a bit on the bland although we chose different dishes. They were both lacking in flavour. My husband chose soup for a starter and that was the best course of the meal . Very tasty.

We visited this restaurant for the third time last Saturday having booked in advance while away for the weekend.The food was excellent but sadly the staff were very disappointing. We were asked to move tables at the coffee stage of our meal as a party of 10 had come in off the street and the waiter needs to move some tables to accommodate them.We obliged but on reflection wished we’d said no and they would have to have waited another 10 minutes or so. It did actually spoil what should have been a lovely evening and I wish I had registered our disappointment at the time.

Ordered chicken noodle soup. Got chicken and sweetcorn. Ordered egg fried rice. Got fried fried rice. Ordered salt and pepper prawn. Tasteless. Very disappointing

After asking specifically twice if they had Pak Choi, the miserable looking man behind the counter confirmed it twice. I got back to the camp site to find they gave me watery flavourless cabbage. The pork was dry yet still bathing in bland liquid. The duck and prawn crackers were ok and they gave a free beer which was nice. However if you value food and your taste buds, stay away!

We've never had a bad meal from here and use Le Moon quite a lot. Today, we had a take away. unfortunately it was apparent they had made a small mistake with our order. I called them and the owner immediately sent the correct order to us. He sent his Son, who made a not insignificant effort to find us. The food was great too!

its a Chinese restaurant, but its a really good one with well prepared food. just be aware that if you like lots of rice order more than one bowl , the main dishes are a good size but the rice is a small bowl. othewise its still very nice.

We ordered a takeaway that with out doubt was the worst Chinese food we have ever had very little taste and the meat was so chewy we ended up putting most of it in the bin ! We will never go there again.

Had a few days holiday in Cromer & decided to go to here for an evening meal .. have been before a few years ago . Got shown to our table & waiter went away left menus & didn't ask if we wanted drinks .. so had to get him over for that .. ordered our meal & I had to go to the loo .. sat down & discovered no loo roll in ladies do had to get up & went to staff door & twice knocked it .. no answer so went into kitchen & waiter came out & gave a loo roll ... I would like to rnention the staff door was filthy as waiters had opened it many times .. it was white but dirty hands !! Went to wash hands in ladies & just a dregs of watered down soap in pump spray ! washed best as I could & went to use dryer & that wasn't working ! No paper hand towels ! went back into restaurant with dripping hands ! used a serviette offf table to dry them !! Then our starters came & the plate was stone cold & food was hot !!! That was it !!! We paid for our drinks & left ! we happened to see the chef in his 'whites' go into the ladies before we went !!! That should never happen !! Absolutely disgusting !! We then had to find somewhere else to eat ! Awful experince .

Just ordered a take away and I've got to say it's the worst Chinese food I've ever had the misfortune to try and eat , the sate was very very bland the best thing about it were the onions and even they were tasteless!!! As for the spare ribs !!! I had one mouthful and I'm still chewing on it , even our cat turned her nose up to them !!! Sorry but like I said the worst chinese food we've every had the misfortune to sample ! Might be an off night but never again

The food was excellent and service good the banana fritters were excellent. However I thought the prices were a bit on the high side and I do not like a service charge added to the bill. I prefer to reward good service instead of being told.

After reading reviews on here nearly did go but after recommendations from our b&b we went for dinner and yes it was quite but the service and food was great wouldn’t hesitate to go again

Visited twice in the same week and the variety of dishes were amazing. Had to find food to suit our party of 5 and this retaurant touched all bases.

Very quiet 8pm on a Saturday evening, lovely food, friendly staff had a great meal reasonably priced too. Would use again if visiting Cromer.

Treated the family to a Chinese takeaway on holiday. If you like your food tasteless then this is just the place for you. All our dishes were tasteless and gloopy. The ribs were too tough to even pull apart with your fingers, never mind your teeth. The rice was brown and looked unappetising and the taste matched! The sweet and sour sauce was a solid lump, perfect if you prefer to spread it rather than pour it. It was so awful that we fed the food to our dogs - 20 mins later and the dogs were sick!!!! £50 down and beyond disappointed

We went to Le Moon on Friday 10th May about 5.45pm and were the first to arrive. We were shown to a table and given a menu from which we selected Menu "A" for 2 persons. The soup was mushroom and chicken and was ok. The main course was chicken chow mien, and it was difficult to find very much chicken in the course. The sweet and sour pork balls were inedible, as the inside of the meat balls were tough and chewy, and appeared uncooked. The other prawn course was reasonable but cold.

We went here recently for my birthday meal after visiting previously and having a good experience not on this occasion 3 people walked past us on arrival before being seated and completely ignored us. Once seated we placed our order after what seemed like an hour the wrong food eventually arrived once rectified and receiving the right food it was pretty bland and tasteless. Won't be visiting again as quite pricey for what it was

Had duck pancakes, duck was 90% fat, inedible! Main dishes were tasteless, the worst Chinese food we have ever had! Prices inside were WAY more than takeaway prices shown outside, rip off!

The service was very slow. The food that arrived was not what we ordered and then we had to wait for the correct items. When we got our correct order it was all very tasty and good.

Enjoyed a most tasty Chinese feed , good portions and piping hot , as it should be . The place is clean and welcoming with attentive staff . The only thing to look out for is a small service charge , didn't read all the info on the menu so I presume it's mentioned somewhere . Would definitely return .

Visited Sunday night, as nothing else was open in the town but wasn’t disappointed. Very quick service and nice tasty food. We shared peeking duck and chicken black bean sauce between the 2 of us and it was just right amount.

I have been visiting Cromer on business for 5 years now and I have my favourite places I like to eat. I have contemplated eating here several times and been put off by the look and some of the reviews. That said a few weeks back I thought I would give it ago as I could see people through the window. Turned out it was a couple who had be strategically placed in the window! The place was stuck in the 60’s and with one young man serving, void of personality. The food tasted of overused oil and the drinks menu was sparse. I asked for a Gin and Slimline tonic.... we only have Gordon’s was the reply and received a strange look when asking for slimline tonic, as though this was an unusual request. At this point I gave up, paid for what I had eaten and went round the corner to the Whitehorse for a selection of Gins and slimline tonics.

Struggled to find a table at any of the eat in places and time was getting on so decided to have a takeaway. Service was quick. the food was excellent and really good value.

Visited mid-week, restaurant was quiet. Combo starter was £14 but was four (micro) ribs, one prawn cracker, two satay skewers, fried cabbage, 2 prawn toast and 4 mini spring rolls. It arrived in breakneck time... Quality wasn't great, portion size was small. We then had wanton soup (ok), then mains (chicken + duck) with noodles and chips. All arrived very quickly. Duck was loaded with fat and white unfried skin. Chicken was so salty we couldn't eat it.

You'll find all the usual Chinese favourites on the menu at Le Moon. Don't expect anything new or very exciting, but the meals we had were very nice,well cooked and served by friendly helpful staff.

Having had fish and chips on the first night in Cromer,we decided to have a Chinese meal.We looked online for somewhere near our guest house and this was five minutes away!We ordered all our favourites,crispy duck,schecwnan beef,lemon chicken.yummy!

We often have a takeaway from here, so we had a sit down meal for a change. The food was excellent, hot, not too spicy and very tasty. Portion size was just right. Will have takeaways as usual but will have more sit down meals as well.

We usually visit this every year, and we always visit 'Le Moon'. It's a very welcoming restaurant and the food and service is great with generous portion sizes and a good choice of drinks. Strongly recommended.

From the outside, I was almost put off as it does not look much however don't let this put you off. The food was fresh and yummy. We had char sui pork, chicken and rice with noodles all of which were really tasty..service was quick and efficient. Definitely, worth a visit

Really enjoyed the food and the portion size is big enough to be shared between two people. The front of counter staff were really friendly and able to give an accurate information on how long before my meal would be ready. Don't be put off by the outside appearance of this great takeaway restaurant.

Like other reviewers before us we had been put off by the outside look of this restaurant but after coming to Cromer for many years we thought we’d give it a go on a Saturday night (early evening with our 9 yr old). Was lovely and clean inside, service very friendly & efficient and the food was gorgeous!!! We all loved it & will definitely be back. Only gripe is they add a 5% service charge on the bill, we would tip anyway but I never like it when it is already added, but ok once you know about it!

Fast, friendly and good value, only done take away and they got the service fast and reasonable priced.

Doesn't look much from the outside but very clean and well-appointed inside. The usual Chinese menu, well prepared and tasty. The chow mein portions were large. Would have rated it it excellent but was disappointed to find an unannounced cover charge on the bill when it came, plus a steep charge for a few extra pancakes we ordered to finish our duck.

We ordered food to takeaway one evening and I can say this is he tastiest Chinese Ive ever had! Very good value for money! We will be returning!

Sat down to eat a attached 6pm, ordered drinks and starters / main courses. The barbequed spare ribs were 'cremated' although the soups were good. One hour ten minutes later we were still waiting for the main course despite numerous apologies for delays ! Quickly assessed this was not unusual when a family of four arrived got out a pack of cards and commenced to play what I belive to be 3 card brag !!! Other customers meanwhile had left whilst awaiting drinks orders to be take. Eventually our main courses were presented and we're of good quality albeit 75 minutes after arrival. The food was also overpriced. Previously dined here in 2005 and the environment is exactly the same. The extremely busy take away service now takes priority over the restaurant diners. OK Cromer Carnival week but this restaurant needs to choose between restaurant or takeaway. Very disappointed.

Have been here on several occasions for a Chinese takeaway, the food has always been excellent and you can't beat the Kung po chicken.

Reasonably priced, extensive menu with some unusual choices. Food was good size, hot and tasty and ready when we collected it. Good for a night in.

I had low expectations having seen pictures of the place but actually the food was pretty good. It wasn't exceptional but it was perfectly reasonable. The service was very slow and there seemed to be one waitress trying to take orders from the restaurant whilst also dealing with the take away orders, of which there were many! She was very nice but there wasn't enough of her to deal with everyone. The wine list is very limited but the Chablis we had was fine.

We recently visited the restaurant and simply cannot fault the quality of food or service, the staff were extremely welcoming and very attentive, the food was presented perfectly. I cannot recommend highly enough to anyone visiting Cromer.

Came across this restaurant while having a walk round Cromer. It has a number of set menus as well as a main menu. There was so much food and all of it was lovely. The lady serving us was very sweet. It is also a take away restaurant. The seating is nicely spaced out and nice and clean. I would recommend this place to anybody eating in the area.

1st impressions look good but went down hill very fast stuck in the 70s food poor quality greasy noodles tough beef and rice never appeared microwaved pork balls chewy and very fatty and the staff were not sure of any of the requests

The food was generally ok, although the beef ranged from verging on undercooked to hard & overcooked over several dishes, the service was terrible, slow and forgotten about between course, even forgetting to bring ordered dishes, not just for us, but other guests as well. We would not return to this restaurant and certainly would not recommend it.

We had one of the the set meals for two. The service was speedy and the food was tasty. I explained I was gluten free, the waitress let me know what I could t have, but didn't offer substitutions. I was given the option to not have the pork in the special fried rice because of wheat which was handy. The restaurant was empty, which was a shame, but the atmosphere was fine because we provide our own fun!

Having got that out of the way...My wife and I had an overnight stay in Cromer a couple of days ago and not wanting to eat at our hotel (an uninspiring menu) we called in to Le Moon for a late evening meal. The establishment doubles as a takeaway (as many do) but strangely, access to the main restaurant is through the takeaway entrance - not vice-versa as is often the case. The staff were courteous, helpful and very welcoming and we were made to feel at home immediately. The menu appeared to be quite comprehensive and offered an unusually wide range of 'Set' meals in addition to the usual selections of Chinese and Cantonese dishes. We have a fairly basic 'favourite' of Cantonese Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice, so after studying the menu we opted for our 'old faithful' and shared one portion of each, but we also had a Pancake Roll each too (these are quite substantial). Using that as a yardstick, I felt the portions were quite generous so we had no room for desert - pity because I think I would have enjoyed some fritters had I not been too full. The food was delivered quickly, although it's fair to say they weren't busy, and it was all very tasty. Just as important though, we didn't experience that ravenous thirst a few hours later, that you get following a visit to some oriental restaurants. All in all, a very pleasant meal and I felt it was something of a pity that we were only there for the one evening - I would have been keen to try a few of the other dishes on offer. Visited the Le Moon on a cold Friday evening - lovely restaurant but as it was a cold rainy night it was not very warm. Had the set meal for two which looked and tasted excellent. Plenty of choice but beware the spring rolls are enormous!! Would definitely go for a return visit.

Don't be put off that it looks likes you are stepping back into the 70s because this places shows you why chinese became so popular in the uk. Friendly attentive service, the soups are fresh and full of flavour, portions were perfect sized, we had the duck in plum sauce and shredded beef, which was delicious. Definitely returning.

This was our second visit to the Le Moon restaurant in six months while visiting Cromer . As always we had very good service and the food was very good. A definite must to any visitor to the town.

Good food and portion sizes, although they could do with more waiting staff - felt sorry for the 2 ladies trying to get round to serving each table, do the drink, take the orders, and clear away !! Have visited more than once, and been please with the food each time
