Chubby Panda in North Norfolk

i ordered from here for the first time this week and it’s was delicious. the order arrived super quickly also, i just got my second delivery today, also super fast and super tasty. thanks chubby panda :)

Grubby restaurant, grubby menus, overpriced food. Two of us with our daughter ate there. We were charged full price for a set menu for the child as well as us. The food was dry, the mixed vegetables was pak Choi with a few carrots thrown in, the beef was tough and had little sauce. We asked for a small bowl of sweet and sour sauce to moisten it and were charged on the bill. £100 for 2 adults and a child. Avoid.

Very disappointing. No flavour and expensive. Portion size diabolical, only scraps of egg in the rice and no free prawn crackers /fortune cookies. Only went here as Great Wall was closed. Never again!!

My partner and I were originally put off by the run down state of the place , everything looked so unclean and very dated .. The staff were friendly and helpful.. The food was nice .. but wasn't blown away..

Holidaying in walcott for the last few years and always said we would try chubby panda ,but haven't, our mistake. From people that eat in China Town b,ham regularly, you need to eat here ,food was 10 + stars service was as good ( even for takeaway) hot flavoursome, and good portions given. Would rate this restaurant 5+stars anyday thanks for a great meal,definitely see you again

The Panda has a good selection of dishes at reasonable prices. The reason I have given only 4 stars is because some of the Thai dishes are not quite what I would call completely authentic. I do spend quite a lot of time in Thailand, and my wife is Thai, so I have some knowledge of Thai food. However, it was all perfectly edible and tasty, and the portions are generous. The service was good and the staff were lovely. Very satisfied with what we got for the price, and hopefully, we will find time to visit again soon. Thank you.

Food quality is good but the interior needs a refresh. Pricey as well but the best Chinese food for a few miles

Had a lovely meal when we visited my parents. Service very efficient and friendly. Food very good. King prawns were huge and full of flavour. Will return and recommend.

The best Chinese/Thai food we've ever had, it's our new regular restaurant despite being so far away!

Bit disappointing. Had special fried rice which tasted more liked boiled so fairly flavourless and much more rice compared to meat/peas than other places. Service was very good.

This is without a doubt the best Chinese / Thai restaurant we have ever been to. The food was out of this world. The chef was so friendly and attentive, he really made us feel special. Thank you.

If you can look past the slightly dated decor this is well worth a visit. We have menu A from the Thai selection. The king prawns in the rice were huge and cooked to perfection. The meat dished were also amazing especially the duck. Everything was full of flavour and excellent value for money.

Been to chubby panda many times, but fir the last year, I stopped as the food had down down hill. As now in 2023 thought I give them another chance and this time the food was good. A big improvement from last year. Only thing now is prices have gone up like every where. Average meal for 2 people with soft drinks came to £75.

Had a takeaway tonight from here as my favourite Chinese in North walsham was closed, the customer service by the owners daughter and a older lady was excellent, the food was dreadful the bbq spare ribs were cold and fatty the bbq sauce was not great the mushroom fried rice had hardly any mushrooms in it and was undercooked and clumpy the chips half were cooked and half were undercooked, if the food was as good as the customer service you would be on to a winner, so sorry won't be recommending to any one,

I'm so upset. We ordered Chinese tonight and have been going on to our daughter and her partner about how lovely it is. So £77 later we ordered it. Its the worst meal I've had. We actually couldn't eat the Salt & Chilli chicken, squid and ribs as they were so spicy it made us feel ill. I'm now having serious stomach pains. I'm so disappointed and don't think I'm ever going to order anything again. I can take spice but that's just ridiculous and completely ruined it. Such a shame as we've raved about this place so much to our daughter. I think it's clear to say its her one and only time of having this.

Always reliable so went with our house guests. We had for starters: smoked chicken, sesame prawn toast, capital ribs with duck and pancakes. Then for our mains we had a pork mussaman curry, crispy shredded beef, chicken priew wan, prawn king po peaking style with Singapore rice noodles and egg fried rice. Everything cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Looking forward to our next visit.

Very nice food but think the restaurant is more used for takeaway than dining in. Staff are very friendly but seemed to forget we were there towards the end.

Food was above average in quality, however it was considerably more expensive than most other Thai/Chinese restaurants i've visited. Salt and chilli tofu around £11. I assumed portion sizes would be larger because of this. They weren't.

The best plate of Asian food i have tasted in a very long time, as soon as it hit the table the aroma took me back to Thailand. Bit of advice, clean your windows as good housekeeping says a lot sorry.

The rice was stale and cold and some of the meat tasted like it had gone off. The price was ridiculous and the place was dirty with flies. Worst Chinese food I have had.

Sadly declined since we last visited, food was disappointing & environment shabby.

The service was very good we were not rushed to choose our food. When the food came out it was well presented and looked tasty. They were really good servings size wise. Tasted amazing. First time we had eaten at this venue and would highly recommend. The prices were reasonable and the setting was nice. Have already told friends and family that it’s a good place to eat. Thank you for an enjoyable evening

Lovely homemade style asian cuisine

It was not a good experience. We ordered both meat and vegetarian spring rolls which the waiter mixed up. The tofu was extremely dry and obviously not freshly cooked. Dirty plates were left on our table which the waiter only removed when we asked him to.

I hate to leave bad reviews. It's a British thing. But the food was, sorry, awful. I won't go again.

Got a curry each to bring back to Wroxham. Never again. Could only eat my rice as the curry was way too hot. Even for my husband. Never again

Went for 75 birtday meal food was excellent

We were staying with relatives in North Walsham wanted to treat them to a takeaway. The menu could have been more user friendly with better explanations as it was using the Thai names. However, once we collected the food, everyone really enjoyed their meals. We had chicken with pineapple, prawns with green pepper and black bean sauce, chicken satay, barbecue pork, chips, noodles and rice. All the dishes were good quality, very fresh and tasty. We ordered plain noodles but they came with a sauce which we didn’t know the ingredients for, so allergy sufferers beware. We will definitely use them again!

Had a takeaway from here whilst on holiday in the area. The food was very good, and the service excellent. The food was still piping hot when we got it back to our holiday cottage, and was very tasty. Highly recommended.

Visited while on holiday in Norfolk with my husband and daughter and have to say the food was fantastic. The restaurant was quite busy for a Sunday evening, with more tables filling up as we ate, which is always a good sign in my books. I tried the King Prawn Ga Tiam with spicy rice and the food was amazingly tasty, piping hot and plenty of it. My husband had the Priew Wan and loved it and they were good enough to make the Thai Green Curry slightly milder for my daughter as she doesn’t like to much spice. Definitely worth a visit, staff were friendly and even bagged up the leftovers I couldn’t eat.

Food was fine. Service was very good, the venue seems a little tired and could do with a make over. On the whole it’s a nice enough place just not 5 stars

Having been previously a year ago we had assumed it was worth trying again...very sadly it was a dire experience. The menu has stickers to hike up all the prices, eg 1/4 duck at £13....total greed to perhaps recoup loss of income...there was 3 of us and the food was barely edible, the green thai curry was a gelatinous green lump on top of a bowl of rice, the crispy shredded beef was dry and tasteless with hardy any 'beef' content. The young lady waitress was polite and I suspect is a family member, no other staff were evident except the noise of a bashing of pans and stir frying noises from behind a screen which must be the kitchen....however I would not be surprised if this was just a sound effect recording and to mask the ping ping of microwaves!

Very good food. Really tasty. The waiter Pat was brilliant, he held the front of house on his own dealing with takeaway and restaurant customers. He was very polite and asset to the restaurant. Not 5 star as they need more staff as the single waitor was run off his feet so there was a delay at times but otherwise a really great meal out! Update - now have more waiters. Delicious just as before! Thanks

The food was lovely, as was the clearly under supported and under trained writer who did so well to mask his frustration staying ever polite. Management, if you are reading I suggest you either invest in systems and training, or show yourselves front of house to support your team!

Consistently brilliant food! The reason this restaurant isn't cheap, is because the standard of food served here is fantastic. The Chubby Panda offers a takeaway service which is restaurant quality food and whilst it isn't as cheap as others in the area, this is easy to understand when you actually eat it. Teamed with friendly staff, this restaurant is a firm family favourite and I would highly recommend the Tom Yum soup.

They answered the phone staight away, only had to wait half an hour before pick up, the staff were really friendly in the shop, the food was delicious, a little different from the usual Chinese because of the Thai influence, its slightly dearer than the other takeaways but worth it for the better quality and the portions were generous, will definitely come back

Ordered by phone, got home and meal was wrong, made to feel like a criminal when I took the wrong dish back. As I ordered curry and got a chow mein. Sounds the same obviously! Disgusting customer service. Will never set foot in there again as plenty of others to use.

Ordered Crispy Aromatic Duck. Delicious and very generous portion, given it was a quarter. Our mains which were Thai red Curry and Chicken and cashew nuts were again, delicious and huge portions. Easily matches the best Chinese/Asian restaurants we've eaten in. Just please work on the decor.

Food is very good with something for everyone both Chinese and Thai options. Will be visiting again soon.

Lovely takeaway & friendly service.We called in on a Wednesday evening as we were holidaying nearby. It was quite busy for collections ( always a good sign) even though they had not long since opened for the evening. The lovely, friendly lady who took my order was great and I waited about 20 minutes for a family order. The food was hot, fresh, tasty and plentiful. We were pleased with the value for money.

Wouldn't recommend. Curry sauce was absolutely vile. I dipped a chip in it, and i honestly nearly threw up. Completely put me off the rest of the food. The ribs were okay, but again the sauce wasn't great.

The Chinese takeaway was lovely. The chicken balls are great but so was the rich, crispy duck, vegetables etc. I know some people complain in other reviews - I’m guessing they get busy. However our experience was good.

We decided to try Chubby Panda for a change as we had not used it for years because of a bad experience in the restaurant. What a mistake, things have definitely gone down hill in the food they provide. For nearly £30 there was barely enough to feed two. The sweet and sour prawns were under cooked and the batter still soggy. The beef portion was a container of onion with half a dozen or so small pieces of beef. The chicken dish had a soapy taste that made it unedible In the middle of the Covid19 crisis the lass servicing went from handling money, to packing crackers without washing or gelling her hands. Will not be going back!

Awful service and inedible food, freezing cold restaurant the worst Chinese restaurant this place needs to be shut down has given me and my family food poisoning.

If we ever fancy a Chinese meal this is our go to place. Authentic food that’s hot and tasty ...the staff are friendly and the foods reasonably priced. Atm there’s road works outside but a handy little pay and display car park not far away that’s free after 6pm

Excellent food but a tad pricey.

Placed phone order and was told half hour for collection and when I turned up I then had to wait a further 40 minutes. When I got food home most of it was cold. Would not visit, had better service and food from others in the local area.

Veg in black bean sauce- lovely lovely, rang and placed my order, they checked what they could do as vegan and I collected. Going back this week too x

Bit of a gem in a small Broadland town. Cooking it well above the usual in these places. I drive 10 miles each way for a takeaway when in the area. Even though the village we stay in has 3 "Chinese" takeaways.

The Chubby Panda is, in our view, one of the best Chinese takeaways ever. Good food, fast service, and oh so delicious.

I've only had a take away and I love their Thai Green king prawn curry. Truly, I can't get enough of this dish it's scrummy

Quite quiet in the week but don't let that put you off. The food is lovely and the girl who served us was very sweet. Parking round the corner is free after 6pm. Highly recommended

Had a really nice Meal with dear friends at Chubby Panda Restaurant tonight, 6th October 2019. The waitress was so very polite, and helpful which made our experience a joy. A Big thank you too, to the expert Chefs, their meal was very tasty indeed. Highly recommend this place.

I have been using this takeaway for over a decade and on the odd occasion I have had to use another I have regretted it.Chubby Panda has a great atmosphere and speedy service. I have never had a bad experience and the staff are always friendly and courteous!Prices are about average but the food is to die for! Excellent!

Having read certain reviews on here I was I little bit dubious, however having a g&t too many and the only restaurant within walking distance to our caravan we decided to give it a go, so glad we did , the service was great and the food was amazing with a choice of Thai or Chinese, I went for Chinese and my partner went for a Thai both were lovely.The bill was also a nice surprise as we have found everywhere a little pricy around here ( we are from Yorkshire) it was less than we expected to pay.Do give this place a visit you won’t regret it.

Over priced not enough meat in portion chips were soggy curry tast horrible would never eat from there again rank! Rather get food poisoning from charcoal grill

As the Great wall Chinese takeaway was closed I decided to use the Chubby panda.I ordered at just before 5pm and was told it would be 15-20 mins,about 8 minutes later the food appeared.(8 different things.)1.The fried and special fried rice were definitely not fried but were like boiled rice with the other bits added.2.Only 4 spare ribs very poor for the price.3.Much smaller portions of veg spring rolls and sesame toasts.In conclusion due to the quickness of the order arriving there was know way it was freshly cooked but reheated.Sorry but on August 14th I shall be returning to the Great wall,miles ahead in quantity and quality.
