It has been far too long since our first visit to this excellent pub. My wife and I are not really pub-people but occasionally we like a Sunday lunch. And we’re on holiday so, what the heck! We booked the day before, online, and pitched up a few minutes late. We were greeted warmly by all the staff and taken to our table by a delightful young lady called Mercedes. Whilst I will eat anything that doesn’t move of its own volition, my wife is more discerning. We explained to Mercedes that my wife is vegetarian and furthermore doesn’t like a big meal. Mercedes offered a child portion at a reduced rate. In the end it was half-price. She was very patient with us and offered two types of water but we opted for a third type, tap water. No problem and a jug of iced tap-water was brought to the table promptly. My wife had the artichoke heart risotto (without the blue cheese) and I had the slow-roast pork shoulder with crackling, potatoes, green veggies and cauliflower cheese. The food was sublime. I can’t remember when it became “de rigueur” to have a big Yorkshire pudd’ and cauliflower cheese with a roast lunch but there they were and they were excellent. Stuffed to the gills I had a flat-white to end with, which was also delicious. James was at the till to take out money. We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again; if you are within striking distance of Langham, do yourself a favour and visit the Bluebell. You’ll not be disappointed. Meanwhile we had the best server in Mercedes. Nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive without being overbearing and made our visit extremely pleasant. Thank you, Mercedes.

To be honest I read some of the previous bad reviews and I thought they were quite pretentious, this is a lovely little village pub serving good food well priced with really good service 👍

We went to the Langham Blue Bell with Friends during Norfolk Restaurant Week which should be a showcase for all the restaurants involved. We are all good cooks and one of us is a trained chef and he and his wife ran a successful hotel for several years where he was the main chef. We visited six restaurants in the scheme. The other five were good but The Blue Bell was a total disappointment. The food we were offered was of excellent quality but the portions were meagre to say the least. The main course we all had would even have been minuscule as starter courses, The starters and puddings were even more sparse. This was not a meal but a collection of extremely meagre tasters! Nouvelle Cuisine? I don't think so! Larger portions of meat, fish, and vegetables are not that expensive and could have turned a bad experience into a positive one! Putting it bluntly it was pretentious "Taking The Micky" compared with all the other five restaurants we visited where we received not only quality ingredients and cooking skills but leaving us all satisfyingly replete. We most certainly shall not be returning, have complained toThe Norfolk Restaurant Week Organisers and shall warn all of our friends of what we considered to be an expensive "RIP OFF"

Four of us went for dinner here and we had a really awful experience. The beer was cloudy, wine was expensive and the food was very disappointing. The portions were shockingly small and the food was dry and unpleasant. Wouldn’t return.

So good we came again the next night! We found the pub almost by accident when we got lost in the Norfolk lanes and called in for directions. Everyone was so helpful, and we eventually found our way to our holiday accommodation. We were so impressed with the helpfulness that we decided to eat here the next night, and what a delicious meal! As part of the Norfolk Restaurants weeks, there was a special menu, good value and well presented. We ate here again the next night and had Sunday evening roasts - such big portions and extremely tasty. Loads of delicious veg, gravy, all the extras! We liked the Blue Bell so much that we've already decided to come back next year.

We came just the two of us for aN evening meal. It was pretty quiet, only a few other diners in. The waitress was lovely and friendly and gave us a quiet table as requested. The menu offers about 6 or 7 mains- one we were told was sold out. All the choices sound gourmet and delicious. We ordered the beef burger and the mushroom risotto. What was served to us was poorly presented, bland and did not do justice to what was written on the menu. Sadly, we didn’t see the waitress again to ask how our food was or if we wanted a desert. 2 stars purely for the ambience and the kind welcome. Such a shame, the food was a big disappointment and could be so much better. We will not be coming again or recommending this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal here, food was really tasty and service was great. We had our toddler with us and they had a high chair and small kids menu. We ate inside but the bonus was they have a great beer garden out the back with some play equipment so we had a drink outside after dinner whilst our toddler played. We returned on another occasion for just a drink and again, service really good and friendly locals too! They didn’t serve food every night so worth checking this if like us, you are staying at The Harper and heading there for a meal.

Very much style over substance. Expensive for small portions. Could have been so much better as we’ve previously enjoyed Sunday lunch here, however from the menu at well over £20 average for mains it was very disappointing. No table water. No garnish with starters, for instance scotch egg came on its own with aioli. Mains were tasty but just left unsatisfied. I’m not going to go on a rant but fair to say we left hungry which is never a good thing.

As locals we would love to use this pub more, but the beer available currently is not enjoyable, the sofas are uncomfortable and the seating arrangement not conducive to a quiet chat with friends. Not keen on the barking dogs everywhere either. Shame.

Family of 6 and a baby having an evening meal at the local pub. Menu looked good but tasted even better. Very quick but unobtrusive waitresses who served our table were very pleasant. We had 3 courses, mine being Black pudding scotch egg, catching the day (Hake) and White chocolate cheese cake and orange sorbet. All 3 courses were fantastic, beautifully presented and tasted even better. The Scotch egg was the best I’ve ever had. Top quality. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food and a reasonable selection of beers as well. Will come back again!

Bit of a mixed bag. The starters were fine and the desserts too, but my main course of lamb was very disappointing. The meat was so tough I couldn't cut it, let alone chew it. It was a very small portion although the helpful waitress did advise us to order a side dish with it. Fortunately we did as the dish had no potatoes.

Attractive food. All four of us found small portions - appetisers did that, but were tiny, starters were miniature. Couple that with an acoustically very poor space at the 'not fireplace' end and inexperienced staff, and it was disappointing overall, poor value.

Pretty mediocre really. The roast pork was 50% fat which I left on the side of the plate and the vegetables were okay but nothing spectacular. There seems to be a belief that customers want quantity rather than quality and I wanted quality so I probably won't be going back. Service was sporadic.

Taken a while to get around to this ! We ended up at the Bluebell after a booking at Barsham was cancelled when they closed down ! We’d been before and it’s very local to us. Unfortunately it was a cold night and the gas bottle in the kitchen had frozen so there was only a very restricted menu however the really nice staff went out of thier way to look after us and we had an excellent meal, the only downside for me was a limited range of beers and no decent bitters which is a shame with moongazer and Woodfords local, if you don’t sell much I can understand not having it on tap but you could keep a few bottles in ? We’ll definitely be back

The Blue Bell at Langham Norfolk lunch was very poor. The beef was poor (gristle) and the pork was very fatty. The vegetables were not cooked properly at all and the service was poor, we had to ask for obvious things like horseradish sauce and apple sauce. The two burgers were average and my daughter's scampi was leaking water. To pay £120 for a lunch for six of this quality was outrageous given the quality of the meals.

Lovely meal at the bluebell today, but pricey at £8 for a medium wine and around £30 for a decent size meal( as you have to order a side) only one member of staff on although very busy Friday evening doing the bar orders and food with the “manager” either sitting having a chat or on her phone. Despite that lovely service from the girl working and nice food just shame about prices and some staff.

Shocking service, food was below average after ordering two steaks which couldn’t even be cut into properly due to the way it was cooked/meat provided. Not even offered steak knives either. To then go pay the bill and they put through the food more expensive than what was priced on the menu itself (and the website showing even cheaper than in the restaurant), when challenged the manager just walked off with attitude for the other to sort. We came here 2 years ago and had a lovely family meal therefore wanted to come back again but will not be returning after this experience.

My wife and I have just had a splendid lunch at the Bluebell. A small, concise menu (we much prefer this, rather than a gargantuan choice where we don’t know where to start) with two roasts to supplement; turkey and beef. I had the turkey with red cabbage, an excellent pig-in-blanket, goose-fat roasted potatoes and roasted carrot. This all came with an individual portion of green veggies and cauliflower-cheese. My wife can not eat a big meal so she had a veggie starter and an individual portion of boiled potatoes, supplemented by some of my green veggies and cauliflower-cheese. We don’t normally drink alcohol but we wanted to splash out a bit and we were guided through the wines settling in a 125ml and 175ml glass of house white. Quite dry! The portions were more than a match for us both. We decided to go with a pudd! My wife had two scoops of ice cream and I had the mincemeat Bakewell tart with ginger-flavoured custard and one scoop of vanilla ice cream. I successfully negotiated an extra little jug of custard because I love custard and don’t get many opportunities to have it. When we arrived we were greeted by Jaz who showed us to our table and we ordered soft drinks to be getting on with. We were served by a delightful server called Daisy who was an enthusiastic source of information. Both Daisy and Jaz were very welcoming and made our visit extremely pleasant. In summary, a country pub/restaurant with excellent food, well cooked and presented with lovely staff who obviously enjoy their jobs and are happy to serve their customers. Although I have singled out Jaz and Daisy for high praise, there were other staff who no doubt are equally worthy. To conclude; if you are within striking distance of the Langham Bluebell a visit will reward you well. Enjoy 😊

We were a party of four and all found the food to be excellent. Two of the party are vegetarian and could have the vegetarian Wellington from the menu with all the trimmings of the Sunday roast menu with veggie gravy and new potatoes instead of roast potatoes cooked in duck fat. Two had the pork Sunday roast and the meat was particularly good and well cooked, All the vegetables were delicious, particularly the cauliflower cheese with truffle. Both boys loved their Korean pulled pork burritos. Meanwhile my Asian salmon salad and my Wife’s peppered mackerel were first class seafood dishes. Great menu where we could easily pick lower carb options (we eat keto, eating out is usually loaded with carbs). The menu is not vast, with all food done really well. Great fresh tasty food.Lovely garden in a peaceful setting, with a small slide/climbing frame for the kids. However the first beer was flat, when we asked for another the waiter immediately saw it and said “that barrel needs changing” but we were still charged for the beer. We were then served an extra fruit juice by accident, so they took it back. Again we were charged for it. The service was not attentive, whilst the waitress was always in the garden, she seemed busier talking than serving. In the end we ordered less food and drink than we would have and decided it would take too long to raise the overcharging so simply didn’t tip to save the faff.

Visited in early Aug 21 with teenage daughters.Drinks before dinner: no rhubarb gin available. No worries found another. Had starters: some served on wooden blocks which we felt didn't add to the experience and the portions were very small though very prettily presented. Main courses - fish and chips not available. Pizzas only on a Sunday eve. Bit disappointing for my teenage daughter. 2 of us chose the bream filet at £19.50. A single filet on a lovely tomato and fennel salad but very light portion left us hungry and needing something else. And the 2 crab beignets (part of the dish)were very overcooked and one on each serving was empty of any filling!. I couldn't tell the other one was crab either. The tempura samphire was I edible being woody and hard. Very disappointing. Gave feedback which was accepted and recieved an apology. Beware the pork was exceedingly spicy! Suited my daughter but I wouldn't have been able to eat it.The scampi (instead of fish and chips) was overcooked like the beignets. Think the deep fat fryer was too high!Whilst we enjoyed most of the meal I think the price demanded slightly more and I would have expected an offer of a free coffee or some reduction for the badly cooked crab beignets and samphire. Especially as.this was the premium priced main. The girls shared a pimms pannacotta which was an attempt at an alternative trifle and disappointing too.Less focus on presentation and more on good cooking and flavours is required. Service started well but during the main course we had to ask for things and it was not easy to get staff attention despite very few guests. The items to order seem to be burgers which we saw people having and clearly fish and chips which had run out. Won't be hurrying back I'm afraid.

Service was fabulous, staff were attentive, food was stunningly presented and delicious to taste. My husband is a coeliac and he was catered for amazingly. Our two small dogs were made very welcome and we will definitely return on our next visit!

Last meal whilst in Norfolk on holiday and it was sublime. Best steak I’ve had for a very long time. The menu was different whilst still serving locally sourced ingredients. We will return to Norfolk again - just for the steak.

Went for Sunday lunch and the food was outstanding. The attention to detail and varied flavours within the meal was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and very efficient. Excellent value for money. Our favourite place to eat on the North Norfolk coast.

We arrived for a birthday meal to be " welcomed " at the bar by a less than happy chappy. The waitress in the garden was fabulous! Well done her. Good was very nice indeed and the portions generous. When we raised with the bar manager that his front of house staff member wasn't very friendly we were told "he can be moody" and then walked off. Tainted the evening a little

We were staying at The Harper hotel around the corner and decided to eat dinner here. Delicious food and fab service. Couldn’t ask for more, and at a good price too.

Ate here last weekend with the family and the meal was delicious and service excellent. The menu is quite small but there was something for everyone. My husband loved his asparagus starter and daughter the sea bream main course. The tables are well spread out and it felt very safe. Have already recommended to other people who are visiting Norfolk.

Pulled pork was delicious. Salmon Thai salad really unusual and tasted great. Kids loved fish and chips and Mac and cheese. Starters were great. Kids loved their desserts.

Food was out of this world. A really pleasantly surprising quality, particularly for a local pub. Absolutely delicious mackerel, completely melt in the mouth with the perfect combination of flavours. Starter was also divide. Couldn’t recommend more. We were blown away! Also particular shout out to Dee who served us, welcomed us and made us laugh. A tip top evening. Thank you

We visited the Blue Bell for the first time since lockdown. My husband really enjoyed his bream main course and rhubarb sundae. I ordered the sirloin steak. The steak was excellent but I was disappointed with the feta salad - didn’t like the salad leaves, no dressing and overpowered the steak. The patatas bravas were very spicy (in a strange way - I love spicy food but not like this!). All in all not a balanced dish - I think it needs a rethink. Service was okay. Not as friendly as I remember. Some staff rushing around and others standing by watching.

Friendly pub with good Covid safety. Tables well spaced out. Menu was interesting though a bit restricted for people who don’t like spicy food.

My partner and I visited the Blue Bell pub for a Sunday lunch whilst staying in the area. We had the octopus and mushroom pate to start, then a lamb shoulder and nut roast for our mains. All the food was incredible! We could not fault this pub. The service was amazing. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We would give it more than 5 stars if it were possible! We will definitely be visiting again!

We recently stayed nearby for a break and this was one I’ve wanted to try for a while, we wern’t dissapointed. We went as a party of 4 for my wife’s birthday and were very pleased to see they were taking Covid seriously, temperature and mask checked on entry, tables properly cleared and sprayed between customers, all spaced out well. The food was excellent, I had the blood pudding starter and lamb which for me were both perfect, then a good selection of very local cheeses. All staff were wearing masks and kept their distance as much as possible but all were very helpful. The garden has been overhauled since we last called in for a drink and is a great place for children once Covid is over and he bar is dog friendly We’ll definitely be back

In these difficult Covid times it was great to eat somewhere that had everything under control. Exceptional food that the menu descriptions couldn’t do justice to. The service was exceptional, friendly, attentive but never intrusive. Do you get better in Michelin star restaurants?Make sure you book well in advance to avoid missing out.

We visited the Blue Bell on a Saturday night in early October as a group of four for an evening meal. The staff were very careful regarding social distancing and there was plenty of space between the tables. The menu offered a good selection of home prepared food and when it arrived it exceeded all our expectations. Lovely flavours and well presented and portions of an ideal size. From when we arrived until we left just before 10pm, we were well looked after and the waitress was friendly and efficient. We will certainly return.

First ever visit but hopefully not the last as this place is well worth a second visit. Had lamb like never before and nicest I've ever had, cooked with spices and a greek salad and flat bread to accompany. If you can find room for dessert as well worth it. Not a bad word to say about the food or service. All first class. Very very nice.

Given the current Covid-19 situation, we decided it was best to pre-book our meals out for a long weekend in Sheringham last week. The reviews on here for The Blue Bell were good and so we decided to give it a try. We certainly were not disappointed! We eat out a lot and I'm pleased to say that the Sunday lunch we enjoyed at The Blue Bell was absolutely superb. Beautifully cooked meat (my wife and I had the pulled lamb shoulder, and our daughter, the beef), generous portions all round and lovely, large, pillowy Yorkshires. All this topped off with some of the best gravy we've ever tasted. On top of that, they were trying out a new draft alcohol-free beer, which was delicious. Highly recommended.

Went for a Sunday roast and was very happy with the meal. The beef was superb, veg and yorkshire pud very good. Not the most accessible place for a disabled person but that is my only gripe.

Very delicious meal full of flavour and presentation was spot on, fantastic service with our server having a very good knowledge of the menu. Warm cozy country pub, only criticism was a limited menu.We had Whole Baked Mackerel and Pulled Ras el hanout Lamb Shoulder which we could not fault however it was posh fish and chips and posh Kebab albeit probably the best we have had. Highly recommend a visit, we will be returning.

So, it seems on a Sunday night the chef is banished to the courtyard and put in charge of the wood fired pizza oven with the capacity of incinerating only three pizzas at any one time! LOLJoking aside the choice of pizzas is remarkably small (5 in fact) but ours were done to perfection which we had with a small house salad shared between the two of us.The service was good and prompt considering the limitations they are working with.Drinks seemed a little expensive but that seems to be a trait of the North Norfolk area in general.

This was our firs mela out after lockdown ended and we looked at the reviews before booking as everyone said this place was covid secure. Couldn’t agree more, felt very safe. The food was excellent. Lovely roast beef, huge portions. Would definitely return. Also very busy which is great to see in these challenging times.

We had a delicious meal here. We had 2 courses, starters of char sui pork, and crispy goats cheese, both excellent. For mains I had the shoulder of lamb which was tender and flavoursome, served next to a tasty Greek salad. My other half had the bream fillet and tempura samphire which was also full of flavour. Came to around £70 including GnT, pint of beer and glass of wine. Staff were very covid conscious and helpful. Only negatives, we did have to wait a while to order a glass of wine to go with the main bit they were busy. And we were seated in an outside undercover area which could have been warmer. Would recommend to anyone, wanting something tasty and a little bit different from normal pub grub.

We had a very nice meal at The Swan Inn. The food was very good and the service was amazing. The staff were very helpful and served the food with a smile. The only problem we had was the oat milk in a latte but the staff quickly apologised and took it off our bill. I would totally recommend this little gem!

We've been coming to the Wiveton Bell for a number of years. We hadn't been since it's new ownership. We had a big family meal, and it was pretty shoddy. The food was outrageously priced for what it was. My wife had what was essentially quarter of braised cabbage on some beetroot. We paid £19 for it. The macaroni cheese for one of the children was undercooked stodge with no cheese in it. Cod for the fish and chips wasn't fresh, the potatoes served as part of the main meals tasted as if they'd been sat under heat lights for hours. In fact nothing tasted fresh. The food took 70 minutes to arrive. Despite their being very few people in the restaurant. It used to be such a lovely place to eat, but we won't be returning after this afternoon.

Not a lot of choice, too fancy food not cooked brilliantly, over priced. The pub needs to serve more traditional pub fare. Service not great, we were forgotten about on numerous occasions during our sitting.
