This is an excellent establishment. It’s very extensive, with numerous rooms, and plenty of room both outside and in. We had a really good sandwich lunch, very good value for money, and were served by efficient and friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Staying in Blakeney with friends had dinner here. Food was excellent and I would have given 5stars but it was let down by the host saying ‘time to leave as they were closing’ not in a particularly nice way ! This was 9.30pm Saturday night !!! We had spent quite a bit of money on food and drink but in future we wouldn’t now choose to return !

We had two very nice meals here during our weeks stay. The first night was very quiet, we had sausage & mash & a steak pie with mash & vegetables. Both were served hot & with a smile from the friendly waitress. The Shiraz & the beer went down a treat with it. The pub is tradional, cozy with a real atmosphere where some of the locals go for a pint & a catch up with friends. On our second visit, the pub was heaving with locals & holiday makers, all wanting food. We thought we'd be waiting half the night but we got served within 10 minutes & a kindly couple saved us their table before they left. The fish & chips were very good, as again was the wine & beer. We got talking to one of the locals, he was a character! We had a god natter with him, it was a really enjoyable evening & the waiting staff were really friendly & nothing was too much trouble. There are so many pretentious pubs/restuarants in the area, selling poor food at extortionate prices, so it was a welcome change to eat at the Royal Arms...nothing too special, but nice quality, well cooked & presented & hitting the right spot. See you next year!!

My wife and I were out along the Norfolk coast for a day out. We stopped in Blakeney to buy some fresh crab, then chose the Kings Arms for a spot of lunch. Wife chose the crab salad, I chose the Ham,Egg,Chips etc. Both meals were made with very good quality ingredients, and portion size beat my wife and almost beat me. Along with a drink each we paid about £40. The pub is a proper English local, full of character and I would guess at busy times full of local characters. It was not busy, we visited on a Thursday, but I expect it to be very popular on a summer weekend.

I have stayed at this great pub almost every year for the past 17 years, COVID and a flood prevent a few visits. Apart from the landlord being miserable, luckily he’s rarely there, the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. The food is superb and the breakfast second to none. Perfect location as a base for my walking. Dog friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. I’ll be back next April.

Very disappointing visit as a local who had been to this pub many times over the years. Very rude staff who didn't seem to want to provide any level of service. We asked if a vegetarian roast option was available, we were told bluntly that this was 'obviously' the roast without meat, we said this was fine. We were then served a plate of plain boiled vegetables with no gravy. When asked if we could have gravy we were told no as it contained meat. The gentleman serving us was very rude and offered no solution or apology at all. At £18 a plate, a pile of plain, dry, boiled veg wasn't really good enough. Had the lack of actual roast dinner inclusive of gravy been explained we wouldn't have ordered this disappointing meal. We won't be coming back.

For all of you looking for a dull, corporate type of experience, this isnt for you. This is a real country pub, ran by real people serving genuine beer, food and warmth. Ive stayed in hotels all around the world, some better than others, but Ive been coming back here since the late 70's. It may not suit you if you want glam and glitz, but the bar is always busy, even out of season. Plenty of walkers, dogs and friendly locals. As I say, A REAL English pub at its best.

We arrived in Blakeney and spotted the Kings Arms. We fancied a pint. We saw the landlord outside who was holding a ladder. He made no effort to speak. My partner asked if the pub was open. The landlord said it was closed for a week and it stated this on all the doors and windows, in a very brusque manner. It clearly pained him to speak to us. Therefore I apologised to him, for having to speak to us. We went on our way. Around the corner we spotted the Blakeney Hotel. We sat outside on the terrace with our dogs and enjoyed a pint and delicious sandwiches with lovely service. It was a relief the Kings Arms was closed. I would like to thank the landlord for being so utterly charmless, so we won’t bother him again on our next visit to Blakeney.

We have really enjoyed eating at the King's Arms in Blakeney before (at least twice) but this visit was not great. Bar staff was not exactly welcoming/friendly - just matter-of-fact. Food was rather underwhelming. I could not finish my meal and that is almost unheard of. It didn't help that a local (originally from London) was loudly moaning about various parts of north Norfolk and arguing with a female customer who he'd only just met (seemingly). The local beer recommended by the barmaid was average and again I didn't finish the pint. Such a shame as we had been looking forward to the visit.

The 5 of us arrived at the King‘s Arms for a couple of drinks. Arguably the only ‘proper pub’ in Blakeney. We were greeted by who I can only presume was the Land Lady (greeted is generous), and her saddened staff. We ordered 5 Guinness and 5 shots. The Guinness contained a staggering amount of head and they only had 2 shot glasses on site, meaning we had to take it in turns. After sitting outside for a couple of hours, we were asked to finish our drinks and leave abruptly, without offering us a final call or last orders. The time was 9:20. We didn’t sample the food as Tempura Chicken Strips were priced at £15.50 and we didn’t fancy taking out a second mortgage. Cheers for the memories guys.

Landlord at first let me in and asked me if I had a mask, unfortunately I did not have one with me so we proceeded to carry on and I ordered the drinks I liked. My wife decided to go in for the next couple of drinks yet the landlord proceeded to raise his voice at her and make her very unwelcome, saying that she should have a mask as everyone else has one on (he wasn't wearing his properly upon entrance she noted) and then refused service saying it was the rule.Clearly he is unaware of personal rights to decide to not wear masks, yet I'm sure he has plenty of personal rights he likes to exude...!Interestingly 3 days earlier, we were allowed in without masks and were not questioned or forced (a lovely bar lady who deserves credit).A real shame to have been discriminated against and for them to turn away business, especially after the dismal intake I'm sure they have had over the last 17 months...Never mind, plenty more nice pubs for us to go to. It must be tiering being so rude and wound up all the time...?Read the reviews and believe them, don't spend your money with them as there are MUCH nicer, cleaner, modern and friendly establishments within both walking and driving distance. Better food. Better drinks. Better service. Better respect of personal rights.

Visited here a few times on our holiday as was a 2m walk from the house we were renting. First couple of times the staff couldn't have been nicer and accommodating. The last time we were rebuked for moving tables in the Garden Room as were a large party, even though we asked a young lad waiting on and he said we would be ok. Tables that are pushed together are no more covid dangerous than ones that are a few inches apart, but the woman behind the bar (not the landlady) must've read about this when doing her medical degree as she was adamant separate tables were safer (even though all of us were from one bubble, staying in the same property, which we told her). Anyway, food was nice, decent pint, great location, train your staff to not treat customers like pieces of crap and you'll be golden.

Vey pleased we went, we couldn't have had a more friendly welcome from his Lady when we arrived and were shown straight to a table. Excellent food and friendly staff throughout the evening. Would recommend.

Encountered friendly staff & the beer & wine were lovely, but the food was very average & underwhelming, cheap quality pub food, not worth the money sadly. Lovely pub inside though. Shame

We ate here last night and it was GREAT! We were met at the door by a lovely very efficient lady who showed us to our table, all COVID safe. An excellent range of treats on the menu boosted by a varied specials board but tbh we both knew from past experience that the fish and chips was what we wanted. These are without doubt the best sit-down fish and chips, BAR NONE!Good range of draught ales that are well kept and all the staff are friendly and professional. I’ve read on here about them being expensive but really? We must support these businesses now more than ever.

Food was spot on and very good pub grub. Very busy pub which led to longer service than expected but staff were spot on and attentive. Definitely worth a try.

Pub looks good from the outside but as for the welcome ,well below what paying customers deserve so walked away. In time when public and are complaining that they are having financial trouble they should realise that potential customers deserve respect. This in one lesson the barman at this pub seems to have missed but he certainly attended the one where he was taught to be rude and arrogant. Spent my well earned cash elsewhere.

Doesn’t look like much but the kids loved it. Simple pub grub, decent value, friendly service.Kids had nuggets and burgers. Mum had scampi, dad had whitebait - both generous portions.Staff were friendly and efficient, interacted with the kids.Struggling to criticise other than the nice garden area was closed when we visited - the tables were limited to the car park which wasn’t as child friendly but was fine.

Fantastic food in this unassuming cosy pub..... the menu appears simple but believe me they really undersell the food choices.... fish finger sandwich should read ‘..... handmade battered fish fillets on thick cut farmhouse bread with side salad....’ The lunch was tremendous and service great... thanks KA

It was our first visit to the pub and we were greeted by a very friendly lady who instantly made us feel welcome. It was a refreshing change to other pubs we visited in the area. She was an excellent host and despite being busy and hot she was efficient and friendly. Food and drinks were spot on! Will return!

Thoroughly disappointed. My girlfriend and I stopped by for a spot of lunch. I had sausage and mash, my Girlfriend had a jacket potato with prawns. The food was at the table within 10 minutes, max! That is never a good sign.My meal looked as if it was just zapped in the microwave and the mash tasted like packet mash! My girlfriends prawns were not even mixed in any sauce and looked like they were just dumped on the potato. The potato had a massive manky black part to it so was basically inedible. I have seen pictures of the food here which look nice so I can only assume the normal chef was not there. It looked like they had a young lad working in there. The only saving grace is they had good beer on tap. Unfortunately though we will not be returning as it was the worst meal I have had in a very long time!!!

Went for a walk around Blakeney with friends & decided to eat at the Kings Arms pub, we were met at the door by a very friendly lady, she told us clearly all the details about safety & covid restrictions etc. She was so friendly & helpful. It was clear she was very busy at times but she went out of her way to check up on us & make sure we were happy. Food was delicious & well thought out, nice & generous portions too. I believe the ladies name was Vicky as I heard someone call her, she is an asset to the pub & made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend & we will be back! Thank you Vicky for your care & attention!

Pub not open (due to Covid), but tables outside. So we sat on a bench for 10 minutes, resting in the sun. Not making a mess or any noise. Suddenly a man came out & very rudely said to us that it would have been good to ask first. Well, given that we couldn't see anyone & all the doors were shut, we didn't think there was anyone to ask anyway... Very rude. Very unfriendly. Will never go there to eat or drink. Unnecessarily rude & abrupt.

Not a lot of choice, too fancy food not cooked brilliantly, over priced. The pub needs to serve more traditional pub fare. Service not great, we were forgotten about on numerous occasions during our sitting.

Been here a few times for dinner- really great food and a lovely atmosphere. The soup is always a must! Fish dishes are always lovely as well and they have a good selection for meat and non-meat eaters. Service can be a little slow when busy but fine if you’re having a nice leisurely dinner. The only reason I’ve given 4 instead of 5 as they no longer have a “bar” area where you can sit and have a drink. It’s seems it’s all food tables in the last year or so- it was nice to sit and have a drink before/after dinner. Recommended for dinner and heard they do good Sunday roasts

We know this part of Norfolk very well as a holiday spot. We have been coming to the Victoria on and off for years. It is now a hotel that serves lunch and dinner NOT a pub. We booked Sunday dinner and I was happy to find that despite an 8pm. table there was still roast beef available. It was delicious 😋! Good portion of medium rare sirloin accompanied by crispy roast potatoes, a fine Yorkshire pudding, a good assortment of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. A few years back I rated a bunch of places local to home and I think the Victoria would have only been beaten by Cliveden We did have room for pudding and thank goodness we did. The rice pudding was spectacular! Unusual but inspirational flavours. The staff were happy and attentive. We took our well behaved dog and saw a couple of others in the restaurant. We chose to come here as it’s dog friendly. Perhaps ask for a quiet table if you’d prefer not to be around dogs when you eat. Overall highly recommended and excellent value. Thanks all.

Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.

Wow what a find. the best place to eat for miles around if you have dogs with you as it is very dog friendly. We went for Sunday lunch and sat out on the covered terrace next to the lovely garden. There was a choice of 4 roast meats and a vegetarian option. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The cost was also very reasonable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere.
