The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Argyll & Bute Central Scotland

I am continuing my trip around Helensburgh's restaurants and takeaways. I think I need my own food critique job! 😁 Have always avoided Magic Wok as it doesn't have great ķèrb appeal. However, I saw the other reviews and most seemed positive. I always judge a Chinese by it's chicken and sweetcorn soup, just to keep a consistent order. Was very nice. Chicken cashew nuts were a little salty but perfectly edible. Honey chicken was a little dry but my fault as I didn't realise it didn't come with a sauce. Rice lovely and complimentary prawn crackers. Would definitely order again.

First visit,typically traditional chinese restaurant very nicely decorated. Cozy feel. Staff were very friendly but there was a little language barrier when my friend asked if he could have wok fried beansprouts with his meal instead of rice. It wasn't such a big rocket science ask but the request seemed to cause confusion which resulted in a very long wait for our order We weren't in a hurry, as such, just worried about getting home to Glasgow in well below zero temps. Prices are reasonable. Restaurant is well worth a try.😊👍

Awesome food yet again. We always come here when we are home. The food is awesome and the service is excellent either pickup or delivery 👍

Absolutely delicious take away tonight. We had Chicken Tikka Balti Rogan and chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic naan. The chicken was so well cooked, proper tikka recipe. Everything was so good - highly recommended.

Prawn Kung po Sweet and sour chicken hong kong style were both tasty

Just finished a fantastic meal delivered to the Anchor Tavern. Great food huge portions great value. Well done Sea Dragon.

Very poor munchie box. Dry chips with the occasional shred of onion. Two small chicken balls and some very dry wings. Very disappointed as I had a much nicer one on a previous visit a year ago.

Another excellent evening of good food and service from the team at the Ruby. Also good knowledge of food intolerances, very quick to check with kitchen if not sure of something etc. The view across the Clyde is just sublime with Greenock's twinkling lights looking their best.

Visted in the night. Were quite rudely greeted by the staff. Told us in a condescending manner that “we need to order one main dish per person” even though restaurant wasn’t busy. We wanted to order multiple sides and try out different dishes as we read good reviews. I was quite surprised when they asked us to leave if we didn’t want to order main dishes for everyone at the table.

Absolute drop in standards. Over 50 min waiting on delivery when told it would be 30 to 40. I went and collected it. It was ready. So food would have sat for another 20 min before being delivered. After collection and welcome food was already cold and stale. Not impressed. We ordered food from another Chinese and it arrived hotter. Faster and fresher.

The restaurant is currently closed and doesn’t look like it will be opening anytime soon

We stumbled across this tonight The food was awesome and the staff were really nice I highly recommend the beef with black bean sauce 1 of the best I've ever had will definitely be back

Chicken balls are poor, beef meal was good. Expensive in comparison with others and prices increased again. Shall be trying the other Chinese carry out shop next time.

Top food and well priced unlike some of the rip of restaurants on Islay and I would highly recommend Oh and no service charge lol 💚💚💚

Sadly seems to have closed down. Very much miss the owner and his lovely handmade food. The best indian restaurant and takeway. Traditional classic dishes plus extra new exciting treats always on offer.
