The staff is very helpful and accommodating, kind and attentive. The food is very delicious and filling, worthy of its price. A very good service, and a very kind front-desk manager to greet you with a smile.

Use golden summit mainly for take away but have also dined in the restaurant, great food and service however you choose to eat. Offers 2 or 3 courses at reduced rates 3 days a week and are well worth the price of £10 and £12.

Golden Summit says to order on Just Eat. We tried this but as we were 3 miles away from Dunoon they would not deliver. All other takeaways in Dunoon that we tried delivered with no problems. Not good enough Golden Summit.

We had a take away from the restaurant and had chicken curry which was ok it did have a lot of onion and was a bit thin but we were ok with it. Also had sweet and sour chicken ball the sauce was great it was nice and thick and tasty.

Please don't put huge chunks of uncooked onion in the chicken curry, 4 small pieces of chicken.....23 chunks of onion. If I wanted an onion curry I'd have asked for one, and tbh I'd still like the onion seared/sweated/caramelized....just don't pad out chicken with onion. Also adding an extra £3 for fried rice instead of boiled is just bonkers. £5.70 chicken curry & rice...£8.60 chicken curry & fried rice.....seriously? Feel like I've been getting ripped off for the last year, yes I love your spring rolls, no I hate how the prices magically go higher for zero reason. I once put a load of pound coins on the counter to have them whisked into the till before they were counted, I knew it was more than the cost of the meal, i could name the person who did it, but im not that malicious, being overcharged for quality is one thing, overcharged because staff couldn't be arsed to count my money..... Edit, in reply to your unaccountable response, i know what i saw, im not blind. Don't insult me. Never setting foot in your place again, lost a regular. Maybe tell your front of house staff not to take the piss, its not the first I've heard you overcharge....and saw iit with my own eyes.

Doesn't look like much outside but was pleasantly surprised. Host and staff - host was extremely polite and welcoming. Can't say anything wrong about her. Kitchen staff tho came in and out and kitchen with outside clothes on (like tracksuits etc) which doesn't scream cleanliness. Food and drink - they have a deal on between 4 and half 6 (I could be out a little but around those times) tbh it was nice. Chicken balls, crispy and good size. Get 3 as a starter and a sauce. Curry, again good portion but not enough rice for the amount of sauce they give you. Big chunks of chicken but sauce was a little thick - but like jelly in a way like it was from a packet. A few drink options - lots of wine but not enough beer options and none were on tap, cans or bottles. Had tons of chips and they were well. Spend £36 - for starter and main it's £10 deal - so 2 of them, chips, can of tennents, Budweiser and 2 soft drinks. Can't really complain with that.

We went for the early evening set menu (2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £12) which is good value. We had spring rolls and chicken noodle soup for starters which were nice. For mains we had the sweet and sour chicken cantonese style with fried rice and salt and chili chips which was lovely and also the beef with green pepper and black bean sauce with boiled rice and this to was good. For desert we had banana fritter and also a pineapple fritter and this was nice and sweet. Ashley was our server and she was great. We would dine here again.

My daughter and her 3 friends attended this restaurant which had no customers in at the time to celebrate her 16th birthday when they were turned away because there was no adult with them. On calling the restaurant to ask why they were turned away it was explained to me it was due to licensing laws, I then informed the woman on the phone that my daughter and her friends attended another restaurant 10 doors down which they do on a regular basis which also sells alcohol and is comfortable for 4 young woman to attend and have a meal without question or making them feel unwelcome. Again all I got from her is it was due to listening laws, for an empty restaurant to turn away customers they must be either lazy and can’t be bothered or making up their own rules who can and can’t eat within their Chinese restaurant, we’ll done in ruining a birthday celebration 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Quiet as went on a Tuesday around 6pm. Got the pre theatre and good value for money. Excellent service and tasty food.

Went here a big mistake, as restaurant i wanted to go to was fully booked. Waited ages to get served and I said to my wife let's go, she wanted to stay as we had sat down people were looking grumpy something was up very very slow service. Ordered a drink and food at last asked for a bigger bottle of lager from drinks menu. Turned up with something else smaller ok accepted it and mentally said I bet I get charged for bigger bottle they didn't have. Starters came ok not bad. Waiting ages for mains my wifes came out cold chow mein this is after a wrong dish was brought out. Very cold said to my wife I've not got mine and yours is freezing So decided to leave. Not a happy boy. Of course my bill overcharged. Got a cash refund funny how your instincts become correct through experience with the older staff member acting a bit dolly dimple definitely not when it comes to bill tried to charge me for food not eaten. I don't like slagging restaurants places off however this was beyond dire, no tablecloth on table, people complaining about slow service, dirty knives. The woman in charge saying manager away heard that one before. Thing is I've been here many years ago and it was fine. So I would avoid it like the plague until they get there act together felt sorry for the young waitresses who apologized, who were doing their best.

We are currently on holiday and thought we would try this Chinese. In a way I wish we hadn’t as when we go home, we can’t have this Chinese anymore as this is honestly one of the best meals from a Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had. Highly recommend food is very tasty and fresh. Definitely worth 5*

On holiday. Called in on off chance for an evening meal. Arrived just before 630pm. For the early 2 courses for £10. Food was fresh,hot and very delicious.

On a short break to dunoon and popped on here for dinner without reservation. Service was brilliant and food fantastic at a very reasonable price definitely worth a visit

The restaurant is situated on the main st right in the middle of Dunoon It's clean and tidy and the staff are very welcoming. We visited on a Saturday evening around half 6, it wasn't busy and we got a table no bother, but the waitress did say she had quiet a few bookings for later on and that if you can you should book before hand. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will definitely eat there again on our next visit to the town.

It's pretty good but the new management are doing a grand job and the girl serving is very welcoming.

Had a fantastic meal with my family last night. Both front of house staff wher amazing and super friendly also very attentive to make sure we had plenty drinks etc. Now all our food was fantastic we have had a few takeaways from here and food has always been great.lasr night I had Thai green curry and omg it was amazing.huge portion and all food very reasonably priced.

Just in Dunoon as an official at the Argyll Rally after the Rally was over today sat 25th June my wife and son went for Chinese I just wish they were open down in kelso in the borders as it was first class we had veg spring rolls tomato and chicken chicken balls rice and chips and prawn crackers could not fault it and the young lass that served us was very polite and friendly will definitely be back in there in 2023 thank you George

Ever since it came under new management I can't hype this place enough. The food is absolutely beautiful. Friendly staff. Restaurant is stunning. Food is very tasty, hot, fresh and I have really enjoyed it. I can't say I've ever been disappointed. Tonight I got the salt and chilli box, and I was very impressed. The chicken Satay came on the skewers which I loved, ribs were beautiful, crispy chips the full box was amazing. Only down side is the size of the sauce you get with it. But that is the only thing. Curry sauce is beautiful, and so is the gravy. Found my new favourite Chinese takeaway.

visited for take away Tues 15 Feb 22. Lovely welcome good communication. One of the best chicken satay I've ever had. Sweet and spicy veg cooked perfectly still crunchy. Fried rice was good. Chicken and green peppers black bean was intensely awesome. Sweet and sour chicken balls Hong Kong style fantastic, prawn toast plentiful. Five star . Recommended.

Place dirty.food salty service very bad the waitress well she was a mess brought a glass tea pot out all sticky and food on the out side she was cleaning it with a cloth she wiped across her face then cleaning another pot that was dirty this place needs food inspector in totally unreal

We popped in for a takeaway, ordered our food to be told a higher price than what it said on the menu. When queried she said that they were the old menus and the new menus weren't there yet! The woman on the counter was very rude and we decided not to order. After reading other reviews I'm rather glad we didn't eat any of the food. 1* is too many. Place and staff are shockingly bad

Went here for a takeaway while visiting Dunoon. I looked at the menu and ordered my food, seemed a bit pricey from what I usually pay. Checked the menu again and I was charged £4 more than the menu price. I asked the lady why I was charged more, she said this is an old menu and prices are increased. The menus on the counter were very new and not old menus as stated by staff. Bumped for £4, thanks. Food was barely edible, lumpy curry sauce and tepid fried rice. Disgraceful

Big menu, plenty of choice, person serving doesn't speak good English so don't ask for recommendions, food was reasonable.

AVOID!!!! I ordered from here recently. Everything I ordered I had to bin, they sent us chicken fried rice that had an awful fishy smell off it so I sent it back for it to be replaced with plain boiled chicken on top of boiled rice…. Hardly chicken FRIED rice. Also ordered salt and spicy chips and they were over done and hard so also went in the bin. Girl on the phone was helpful but the owners couldn’t care less about the state of the food leaving their kitchens. I gave this place a few tries and that will be my last. Please AVOID!!!

Called to ask if they had any tables as everywhere else in Dunoon was fully booked. They had tables and now I can see why. Half eaten food still on plates on the middle table, no lights on when we arrived, bits of rice on our table and the wall next to us and feet were sticking to the floor.. To top it all off there was a used lateral flow covid test on our table. Place was just generally dirty. Would not advise or recommend this place to anyone!! If I could give no stars I would. Girl serving was nice enough.

Food amazing, inside decor nice and clean,old chinese woman not very talkative and looks grumpy she isn't. The meal wee had was fantastic the large bottles of chinese beer was reasonably priced the soups were big and full of flavor, the main was huge I am 20stone could not finish the set meal had a cup of tea instead of a pineapple fritter. I will be back.

I don’t know what these are, but definitely are not the 2 spring rolls we ordered. It’s a shame as we have enjoyed our deliveries in the past , but this puts me off ordering from there again.

The food was really bad and we gave it to the dog in the end. Everything had a strange after taste and the thought of it makes me feel really queasy. The special fried rice was particularly grim with slabs of tough meat on top and a slather of a congealed sauce that looked and tasted like school dinner gravy. Without doubt the worst Chinese take away my partner or I have ever had.

Homedelivery, after repeating my order twice they delivered the wrong meals, phoned again repeated order again, bad tempered Chinese person arrived to switch order, wont use them again, food was undercioked.

Had a meal here yesterday , was happily suprised they opened on a Tuesday. Food was class salt and chilli chips spot on and so was the chicken. Curry sauce was abit salty but aside from that brilliant. Arrived sooner than expected, will be back for another soon .

Vile, it went in the bin. Tasted like prawns were off, extremely salty, crispy duck was more like rubber duck. Never again.

Very disappointed the special fried rice is not special at all it’s just fried rice with 2 dry bits of chicken and 2 fatty pieces of pork on top and the ribs where definitely days old

My wife and I walked in at their lunch hour time on a Thursday around 1:00 pm. Door was open, no lights on. There was a cook or waiter standing there. We asked if they were open. The guy ran to the back room and no one ever come back to help us. We won't ever go back.

We visited tonight for dinner and we we’re really impressed. Nice, friendly, chatty young lady serving us. We both ordered just a main course Malaysian chicken and peking chicken which came out sizzling. Food was good, nice quality and portion size which we both enjoyed. We will return on our next visit to Dunoon

We went for a last minute dinner at Golden sea/Summit. The man was very welcoming. Nothing was a problem , he even nipped out to get us fresh orange, meals where served quickly and where lovely and Fresh. There was 10Of us, 3 Adults and 7 kids. Everyone likedThere meals. Would definitely recommend the place . We had chicken satay , special curry, chicken balls , bbq ribs, crispy shredded chicken in mandrin sauce , chicken chow mien, chicken noodle Soup , chick wings and salt n chilli chips so we had aFew Different meals.

Lunch, only person in, single Spring roll could well have been microwaved, tasteless, thought I'd be safe with chicken foo yung and fried rice, not possible to make a mess of that is it. Food totally bland. The £4 can of Tennants was ok. Decor and cleanliness is appalling, there are three fish swimming in the dirtiest glass globe bordering on cruelty. Filthy cutlery. I fail to understand why anyone would venture into this place, I certainly will not be fooled again.

The best Chinese I've ever had so I would recommend this place without hesitation. The staff( especially Jack) were very attentive & friendly. They have nice red mood lighting on the ceiling & the restaurant is spotlessly clean . Will return next time in Dunoon. 💯

Staff were very welcoming and patient as I took a while to decide what I wanted! Food was served quickly and was lovely. We really enjoyed our meals and the portion sizes were great for the price.

A bit dated inside but that seems typical of such restaurants in the more rural areas. Large portions at cheap prices that appeared to be freshly prepared. Would consider returning here for a fill of food.

To be honest it doesn't look much but don't bypass it. We went in and sat and the food was delicious, piping hot. We had the set dinner for 2, soup was amazing and chicken balls were tasty.

No taste to the food disappointing

The lady who served us v overzealous and made for an uncomfortable meal constantmy asking the kids if they wanted x y z.. without consulting us. Food came out sporadically with kids getting food same time as partners starters and before even finishing their meal she was getting my daughter to choose her favourite ice cream which she had bought out. Even after saying we would chose later she left one with us to melt before my food had arrived. Then offered my son desert before we had finished. Was a very invasive service style. Then the bill didn’t reflect reflect the £10 deposit we’d paid and we had to bring to their attention! Food good but overpriced and I won’t be going back to eat in. Would use for take out maybe.

Abysmal. Stood around like an idiot for a half hour for something I was told would be 20 minutes, to be then told would be another who knows how long. Useless. The owner has terrible acne, the desk guy is new and knows nothing, the place is so cold the owner's wife was wearing a jacket in the restaurant. I put the money on the desk, and she demanded I should place it in her hand. Who works for who here. Useless, amateur, and skinflint the that won't even turn on the heat. Willie Chan must be turning in his grave. Worst Chinese in Scotland.

Visited on Thursday evening with my stepson, restaurant looks nice, there were a few tables in at the time, the waiter took us to our table bearly looking at us and TEXTING away whilst walking wish us ! The food was good but expensive for the portion size, dropped my fork on the floor, the amount of food on the floor was disgusting ! The young waitress working was very attentive, courteous and professional ! However the waiter was constantly on his phone showing no interest in customers, I would recommend this restaurant but if there was another place, I would try it first.

Food was nice, typical “British Chinese” but well cooked with good flavours. After reading some reviews we weren’t sure what to expect but we came anyway and were pleased. Staff were friendly too. We will return to eat here again.

The food was excellent, as was the service. Go for the set meal for two people. Really good value and there will be enough left over to take home and have another full meal. Everything tasted like it was freshly made and was of good quality.

Could not get my meal right and tasted like old stock or reheats

We sat in on a Wednesday evening and the food was nice...not the best but we enjoyed it enough.We paid our bill but thought it seemed really high considering we have had takeaway from this place many times. They keep all receipts for their own records so you don't get to take it with you but when we got home, I checked what we ordered on the JustEat app and found that we were charged an EXTRA £20 to sit in. I contacted the restaurant who replied saying that all restaurants charge about the same to sit in (not true at all for our area given that we have eaten out most places and never been charged that much more). They also said they keep all their receipts.We will not be using this place again. We're local to the area and frankly, felt a bit robbed. This isn't even the best place to get chinese in Dunoon...it's just the only sit-in restaurant but really, you get far better food from all other chinese restaurants in Dunoon. In future, we'll be sticking to better takeaway from elsewhere instead of trying to support the local chinese restaurant who seems to think they're offering a 'fine dining' experience. £20 to sit in indeed pfffttt!

We ordered for the first time a takeaway from this establishment on Thursday 10 May 2018. We were so pleasantly surprised, it really was very good, we received everything we had ordered and the delivery was exactly on time. We have eaten many Chinese meals over the years and this meal was definitely in the top 3 of the best we have ever had. Can’t wait for our next treat.

Needing food we called in here just before the lunch time offer expired. Only 1 other person eating and she was obviously a regular.

Saturday lunchtime, only me in the restaurant. Three course meal which is starter, main and tea or pudding. I chose tea. Then the bill £8.90 for the meal then he tried to con mean by putting an extra £5.50 for tea! I wasn't having that and told him he will lose business trying tricks like that. Then, he offered to only charge £10. Disgusted!

On holiday in the area, one if the best Chinese we've had

The food is overcooked, dry, salty and tasteless. Their meat has the texture of being frozen and microwaved.

Got a take away delivery from here when visiting Innellan (10 minute drive from Dunoon) as we had been in Dunoon 2 years ago and got food from here which was really nice. However this time we were waiting over an hour and a half for delivery which came freezing cold and way more expensive than expected. The munchie box was £7.99 on the menu but charged at £8.99 and the delivery was £4.80 for a 10 minute drive?! Food wasn't even enjoyable being stone cold. Disappointed to say the least. If back in the area will certainly not be ordering from here.
