Golden Sea in Argyll & Bute

Over 30 minutes of waiting on order after I got told it was ready to collect at 5pm. took order home and the chicken satay was missing. Both main meals were tasteless and the chilli chips were almost uncooked my daughter couldn't eat them. not happy with the this order at all!

Always delicious food! Tonight however absolutely outstanding! Best Chinese cuisine we have had in our lives and that includes trips to China!

Phoned up as needed to cancel order but was going to order again on Tuesday and was going to tell them that as a way to soften the fact I was cancelling the order. But the girl on the phone was so rude and blunt and hardly let me talk. I managed to work the app out and cancel the order only to be told I wouldn’t get a refund from them after the fact. An absolute joke! Won’t be ordering again.

Really hot and fresh food, would order again

the special fried rice was shocking 2 bits of meat and a few shrimps £8.50 for a really poor amount the beef was also just full of onions I will never buy anything from this place again poor value for the money

The food was not even fresh or heated half hot and half cold like a reheat from a night before!

Bigger tubs of sauce would have been good but food was very nice.

Excellent chinese food, every meal was as good as the last. I strongly recommend that you give them a try.

delivery was early but food looked great although the chow mein looked as if it had been trampled on as polystyrene tub was squashed and the bag was full of sauce. Other than that it was amazing 👏

Absolutely disgusted, placed order at 18.30pm, still waiting after two calls to restaurant at 20.35pm it showed up, food was cold, was told restaurant busy so Just Eat orders have to wait, won't be ordering from here for awhile or at all...

Everything was great, food lovely but not even as much as a bag of prawn crackers free after a £50 order. Mind add them when making an order.

The sauces were watery and not very flavoursome. And as mixed veg dishes there weren’t very many vegetables - lots of onion and bean sprouts and just a little bit of green pepper and a couple of large pieces of mushroom. Disappointing really.

Ever since it came under new management I can't hype this place enough. The food is absolutely beautiful. Friendly staff. Restaurant is stunning. Food is very tasty, hot, fresh and I have really enjoyed it. I can't say I've ever been disappointed. Tonight I got the salt and chilli box, and I was very impressed. The chicken Satay came on the skewers which I loved, ribs were beautiful, crispy chips the full box was amazing. Only down side is the size of the sauce you get with it. But that is the only thing. Curry sauce is beautiful, and so is the gravy. Found my new favourite Chinese takeaway. Edit. I've went from a 5 🌟 down to a 2 🌟 and the reason for this, is the food quality. I feel over the 2 years, its went down hill dramatically. Its bland, sauces are over powering, and with some meals you get very little sauce, like the crispy beef, very little sauce, dry, and an odd taste. The portion sizes for what you pay for is shocking, also Quite a few times, when ordered some items have been missing. My last order until tonight was back in June this year, I've avoided it for this very reason but hoped it would have improved, sadly it hasn't. So I definitely won't be ordering again.

don't know where to start. Just such a poor quality meal. I can't put into words as I've tried so many dishes from this restaurant and I've always been very disappointed. if you like food that tastes good and have a high standard at home do not order from here. you'll thank me

my last order from here until tonight was June this year, and my reason for it was the food quality. I feel its went down hill dramatically, bland, weird taste etc. over priced portions small. quite a few times some of my order had been missing, and had to call back. I'd hoped since my June order it had improved but sadly it hadn't. I definitely won't be ordering from here again, it's sad really because it was at one point a good Chinese. food quality is letting them down

Everything was excellent. We have been getting carryouts from the Golden Summit for years now. There isn't a chinese restaurant in Dunoon that can match them. If yo.u haven't used them then treat yourself to superb cuisine.

Chicken fried rice came with ridiculously salty gravy ( i didn't order any) and rice was really mushy. Very disappointing

still waiting!!!! I usually order from Oakfield, but I won't order from here again. why can't you get the address correct? i mean, it's in english.!!! I want to cancel this meal, and you give me my monsy back, every penny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would give a zero star preferably but it’s making me choose so one start it is. Absolutely disgusting was swimming in grease which was soaked through the bag and on other dishes. Requested a refund but rejected last order from there quality very poor. That’s just my dish also ordered salt and chilli chicken which was like burnt rubber. My dog could of cooked a better meal.

The staff is very helpful and accommodating, kind and attentive. The food is very delicious and filling, worthy of its price. A very good service, and a very kind front-desk manager to greet you with a smile.

We were disappointed with the prawn skewers - there were only 3 instead of 4, one hadn’t been marinated and we couldn't eat most of it. Is there any chance of a refund for this part of the order please?

The food was good, but the Korean chicken bites lacked spice. 6 chicken balls was terrible - expected at least 10.

Delivered very quickly, piping hot and the quality was superb. This is a great restaurant for sit-in or take away. Best Chinese Restaurant in Dunoon by a mile.

Use golden summit mainly for take away but have also dined in the restaurant, great food and service however you choose to eat. Offers 2 or 3 courses at reduced rates 3 days a week and are well worth the price of £10 and £12.

The service and the delivery guy are nothing less then first class. It's a pleasure putting an order into the Goldeen Summit knowing that the dishes will be as good, and they were. Whoever your chef is, don't let him go as he is by far the best in Dunoon. I would advise anyone who likes chinese food to order from here, they are the best in Dunoon by a long way.

All the dishes, the chicken and green perrer with bb sauce, the barbecued pork chow mein and the ham foo yung were superb. The rice was not clingy at all and the prawn crackers were fresh. I have to give a mention for the delivery man who is a really nice chap with a great manner, even though he was getting drenched in the rain. This restaurant and the staff are first class..

The sweet and sour had a peculiar taste, it was more brown than orange Not as good as it usually is So disappointed

Restaurant is closed but taking orders! Why am I still paying a delivery charge and service charge for absolutely no service and food that wasnt even delivered?

The chicken satay was lovely but unfortunately the spring rolls were a little unpleasant, the bean sprouts tasted and looked “old” and the curry sauce was too salty! Normally this is my favourite dish from your menu!

The mongolian beef tasted awful. Meat was very tough and smelled off.

Took two hours from ordering. Restaurant phoned us after one and half hours asking if driver had been as he had left part of the order behind. Driver arrived half an hour later - we are less than five minutes away - food wasn’t hot and had to be microwaved. There was only six spring rolls instead of eight. The fried rice dish was greasy and the pineapple fritter soggy . Most of food was inedible and was thrown out. My husband phoned the restaurant to complain and the girl was at a loss to explain what had happened. She offered replacement meal or reduction on next meal ordered but we refused both as we were not confident there would be no repeat of experience. Sadly will not be ordering again.

Lovely but you but to much chips in the food

It was good food, the chicken balls could do with being less on the thick batter, was excellent before now stodgy beyond eating some of them seemed uncooked because of batter, but everything else was fabulous.

I couldn't believe how fast this was delivered, and we had a bigger than usual order as my son and his wife were visiting from London. My son decided we should change some of the meals we normally ordeed, I'm not so sure that was a positive. We normally order a Char Sui Pork Chow Mein or chicken, but I don't think the Special Chow Mein was a success. Perhaps tha's just personal taste,but the meat was in thicker larger pieces. The Chicken Green Pepper BBS was excellent and I prefer our usual Ham Foo Young as opposed to the BQ Pork, again personal taste . One thing I don't normally order is Sweet and sour Chicken in batter but it was a revelation. Definitely one to order. If I were to be picky on something we always order it was the Prawn Crackers, which are normally the best I've tried, but this time they were thicker and didn't taste fresh. All in all it was good, but not quite up to the usual very high standard.

Golden Summit says to order on Just Eat. We tried this but as we were 3 miles away from Dunoon they would not deliver. All other takeaways in Dunoon that we tried delivered with no problems. Not good enough Golden Summit.

Delivered to Hunters Quay Holiday Park. Food was great and arrive hot.
