Phoned a delivery, to then a have a phone call half an hour later asking if it was collection or delivery,said delivery as per phone call to then get another phone call half an hour later asking again if it was for collection to be told sorry we don't deliver there. Total shit show.

5☆☆☆☆☆ the food was great, service was fast, staff brilliant. As Arnie said, "I WILL BE BACK." On the negative side, it was quite expensive, but I suppose you need to pay for quality!!

Again we get delivered the wrong thing ... my Wife is a vegan and ordered Salt and Pepper Chips and guess what didn't come yes the Chips What did come was breaded Prawns Great for a Vegan If you get what you order it's great but don't hold your breath

Ordered a carry out and got most of the order right Wife's a Vegan she ordered Salt and Chilli Chips got breaded prawns Close but no Chips See the picture for what she got Or phoned to complain it's now 40 mins later and still no Chips

Had a perfect sit down meal and will definitely visit again next time in oban

We have been going to Oban every year for the past 8 years and this is the first time we have used this Chinese mainly down to poor reviews. Well I am glad we did. The food was good, tasty & hot….. and reasonably priced. So I will definitely use it again next year.

A fantastic menu and really good value. Huge portions and very friendly staff. The service was fast as well. Highly recommend the duck.

We came in almost 30 minutes before closing. We wanted to eat Peking duck. We didn’t find it on the regular menu, but we still decided to go in and check to see if there was something similar. And oh yes, there was such a duck on the menu for delivery. And she was beautiful. Thank you

China Restaurant was overall quite good. I suspect that the flavor of Chinese food in various countries is different from place to place. I had szechuan chicken. I asked for extra spicy and, of course it wasn't, but it never is. It was flavorful and well prepared. We had appetizers of chicken satay and fried spring rolls, which were good. My son had lemon chicken, which he said was good. My daughter had vegan "chicken" lo mein, which I was able to taste and was very good. Not sure how they made the vegan "chicken", but I was impressed. My wife had szechuan tofu, which she also liked. Overall a good meal. We had excellent service. The place was nice, about like most Chinese restaurants. Right next to/ across a small street from the Oban Distillery.

The pic that i took is an aftermath pic. As an asian, i lower my expectation, but turns out this restaurants is not too bad.. we order the honey chili chicken and roast duck garlic and chili. Its okay maybe i give score 7/10. The price still reasonable, and the staff are nice.

Food tasty but not great. There was a bit of a communication breakdown. Otherwise everything is fine.

Ordered takeaway, arrived to collect was waiting around 15 minutes in the restaurant, food was cold once we arrived home.

About 15 bluebottles on inside window the waitress was very apologetic but a man at the next table kept killing them, we should have walked out then.

The window next to the table had lots of bluebottles on it, not nice.

Myself and two friends were visiting Oban recently and ate here the service was very efficient and the food was gorgeous, very impressed, highly recommend a visit to this restaurant if you find yourself in Oban.

Lovely fresh tasty Chinese take away would recommend and go back again next time I visit Oban again.

The food is okay, the service is good, but BEWARE........ The prices on the wall outside are NOT the prices you pay inside. Inside the prices are quite a lot higher. There is a minimum charge of £20 if you are going to pay by card. Avoid the table for two in the far corner. The top is very loose and makes eating difficult. The drinks are expensive. And they really must change the battery in the smoke alarm. It is really irritating to have it chirping away all through the meal. Unfortunately I cannot say it was a pleasant evening.

As for the first appearance, we were welcomed warmly. The sitting was fine, the tables and chairs were well organised. The washrooms looked fine and place looked clean. My main concern was, the lady who took our orders couldn't speak English well, so it was difficult to communicate about the dishes and it's changes because we had one person with us who had allergies and found it really difficult to explain it. Plus, my husband requested boiled rice as a side but he was served with chips. The dishes were not as expected though they looked delicious. It might be different from person to person but as a person who already have tried authentic Chinese food, I would appreciate if they could present their own tastes because that is why most people come to oriental restaurants. Then, We ordered schechuwan dish with all meats included for 12.30. Some fried rice and boiled rice as side dishes and a Wonton soup for 5.40 which I would say not worth for the price we paid. Yet the food come on time and we didn't have to wait much. In concern,we were there to try new dishes that we are not familiar with, so It would have been great if they had provided pictures in the menu. To add one thing further, I found that the fire alarm battery change sound was going off and which made it annoying to keep the mind peace. Overall, I won't recommend that place to someone who wants to try authentic Chinese food but to try something different from what you eat everyday then yes.

There was 5 of us that went in and was going to spent over £150 and we sent back chips because the were hard and the kicked us out and said they were going to call the police if we didnt leave over 2 Portions of chips

This was once a really really tasty meal. Twice now in the last month we’ve had an awful meal. Bland and so disappointing

Food is not really traditional. If you’re from SEA, or HK, this may disappoint you. That said, service was good. The manager is a young Chinese man from Birmingham/China, named Christian. If you are after Chinese food, ask him for recommendations! He will be able to steer you away from the “westernized” recipes and guide you to home-style, cooked food. He’s the reason this restaurant gets four stars, and the food only 3. And tell them to go easy on the salt, stay way from the “Kung pau” chicken. Oh, and he’s a young, good looking, single guy… eminently eligible… 🤣

What’s happened to this place, used to be good. Sweet n sour sauce was as runny as water and greasy?! Vile. Chow mein was dry. Is it under new management or something? Not good. ☹️

We enjoyed the sweet and sour king prawns with rice and chicken chow mein - served western style on plates, no chopsticks or bowls unfortunately. Nice staff, quick service.

Worst tasting Chinese food I’ve ever tasted.

Great quality food and fairly priced. Delivery is usually speedy but can be late at peak times (understandable). I ordered via phone (no online service available) but the staff are friendly and clearly understood over the phone. No stars for atmosphere as I have not eaten in although the restaurant looks nice and clean inside and out (I have collected in person in the past).

Put in a order tonight got home to find one of our meals was mixed up with someone else, they were so apologetic and replaced the full meal adding prawn crackers, my mixed seafood grill was absolutely delicious 😋 thanks!!

We actually read some of the bad reviews and thought to ourselves “maybe it’s just the people, there are other good reviews”… Well, let me tell you about those other good reviews… Zero standards! If you want your ice touched, not shaken, this is the right place for you! Oil overflowing starters “to die for”… Stir fried rice was passable but the start of the show was the charred pan leftovers from the noodles served on the table before us. Oh, and if you like to pay for 80% of the soda your order just because it doesn’t fit the glass, guess what? The waiter was thirsty! 10/10 would NOT come back…

Very popular restaurant with a steady stream of people collecting takeaway meals. We sat in and had a few drinks and enough food to feed two hungry blokes. The quality of the dishes was good and in line with the anglo-chinese expectations. I'm spoilt because of my time living and working in the Far East so it would need to be excellent to gain a five-star food rating from me.

Really enjoyed our meal here .. I had best prawn cocktail in here in many a year. The crispy beef i had was lovely and my wife said her barbecue ribs & beef curry were bang on also. Decent priced play and service was spot on. Deffo be back again cheers. A well run ship 👏👌

One of the best Chinese Restaurants in Scotland, takeaway or sit in you'll get a great meal

I came here first time, and ask soup with chicken and mushrooms... It's stink... At start I wanted to order only one soup just because I want to try and make decision am I want other soup or the same, but then old waiter said to me that I should to order at least 2 positions. So I ordered 2 not tasty soups.. And now I have really bad feelings about this plase. Waiter was not friendly at all..

Excellent quality Chinese food. Really impressed with their chow meins. Decent portions and reasonably priced.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Food tastes incredible it is just so great. Service is very quick and the staff are plenty nice. Overall, definitely deserves 5 stars. Will go again every time I'm in the area.

Cannot believe that people have rated this dismal restaurant any more than a one star people say they couldn't believe they got a table at 9 ona Saturday night without booking the reason is that it is without doubt the worst Chinese restaurant i have ever had the misfortune to eat in , damp ,cold having to shout your order above the drunks ordering carry outs, old Chinese gentleman continually asking if you had finished, The price of drinks would have made a4star hotel barman embarrassed to ask you for, all in all an hour and a half of my life I can't get back.

Called restaurant to check delivery was available in my area. I was told that they delivered as far as North Connel. I live twoMiles /10 minutes outside Oban so thought perfect. Selected choices with my friend then called back to place order and gave my postcode. Was then told that there was no delivery to my address and when I asked the reason why I was told the driver did not deliver to my address but was given no reason why. On pushing for a reason I was told the driver does not deliver to the middle of nowhere . Even though I had been told they deliver ‘as far as North Connel’ gentleman on phone then proceeded to say I told him I lived in North Connel - I live in Glencruitten and at no time did I say I lived in Nortg Connel - why would I ???? Not great customer service when answering questions on delivery perhaps staff should enquire as to the address of customer before saying they can deliver. Not happy at all. Suggestion recruit delivery drivers that can confidently drive on all Argyll roads within delivery radius.

Although rhe restaurant was quiet, the food was excellent and just what we were looking for. Nothing "special", just good and honest Chinese food. The table was a bit 'bare' when we sat down. Having a bit of thought in dressing the tables might be quite nice, and have water served on arrival would be a nice touch, and a reason for having some glassware on the table? Overall, though, thoroughly enjoyed the food - thank you.

If your looking for a takeaway in Oban this hits the spot fancied a Chinese meal and it was perfect not too spicy or bland been here every time I visit Oban . Don’t let the 3 stars fool you should be a 4-5 star

We were looking for somewhere to eat and it was 9.30 pm on a Sat night. It's not a huge restaurant but we got a table as there was only two of us. The service was great , staff lovely and food was delicious 😋 👌

The servers were very attentive. It was also delightfully easy to get a table. The decor was nothing special. Nor was the food. It was much too expensive for the portion and lack of flavor.

We got as far as sitting at a table before deciding we could absolutely not eat here. The fusty smell hit us as soon as we entered the building which increased the further into the restaurant we got. I can only describe it as an overwhelming stink of fusty, damp, drain smell mixed with the smell of cooking.

Solid British Chinese restaurant. Very satisfied with the beef curry and fried rice and hot and sour soup, it was exactly what I was looking for. Good portion size, plenty of quality beef, quick turn around. They only take cash up to £20 which is a pain.

Not real Chinese in my view. Dishes are all starchy. If you crave for hot Chinese food after being deprived for weeks, this will still work. Not many choices in Oban.

Food was ok. Nothing special. The welcome what can I say?! There wasn’t one! When asking about food and portion size , the waitress was rather rude. Felt uncomfortable with manager practically hanging over us eating our meal. No kids options. Poor show. Won’t be back would rather eat a chippy down at the water and take my chances with the seagulls! Drab joint, rude waitress ( one waitress) other younger waitress was very nice: Bit pricey for the food as well, you don’t mind paying if it’s good! I’d of been better buying a packet of mayflower powder sauce from farm foods and cooking my own! I’ll say no more you get the picture.

Off the main path for sure... But they could seat us on a Saturday evening. The service was good. The food came out quicker than expected - and was good. Five mains - no issues. Much better than what we typically get in a mid-priced American Chinese restaurant.

We ordered take away food chicken fried rice and fried rice and curry sauce, the food was disgusting totally inedible, it all went in the bin.

We were looking for an alternative to fish & chips. So we decided on Chinese. None of the four of us liked it. Seldom eaten so badly. Be warned, but feel free to gather your own experiences.

We were a bit apprehensive before going here because of some poor reviews but so glad we give it a go! The food was amazing. We had barbecue spare ribs to start...stunning! I had garlic chilli king prawn with fried rice which was delicious. My husband had beef curry with fried rice. Dont believe everything you read in the poor reviews. Give it a try and see for yourself, we did and was very happy with every aspect and would definitely visit this place again when we are next back in Oban😁

More than unsuitable for the German stomach, you can't compare it at all with the German "Cina Restaurants".

Ok meal ruined by a very loud local sounding member of staff discussing her life story behind the counter. I’m sorry but if you want to charge restaurant prices you need to create an ambient surrounding. This was unacceptable. £57 for 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks seemed expensive considering we can order the same in any Chines restaurant in the centre of Glasgow for around £35. My fiance is a chef, he said his chicken curry looked like picked chicken leg meat rather than breast. It is not worth the money.

Lauren was a brilliant host. Very welcoming and the whole team looked after us. Even after I left my purse they ran down the street to find me! Would recommend to anyone visiting the area of Oban and wanted a little Chinese indulgence.

We ordered takeout for collection. Great food (Salt and Pepper ribs and pork chow mein were amazing!), good portion sizes and good price (certainly cheaper than back home in Newcastle). We’re quite fussy eaters when it comes to Chinese (travel 30 miles for ours back home rather than more local ones) and this was really good - just what we needed after a day of sightseeing :)

Can't say a bad word about the place. Wee bit pricey but you get what you pay for. £20 minimum spend to pay by card is a bit of a ball ache but if your buying two meals chances are you'll be over 20 quid anyway.

Horrible food and rip off. The satay was pre heated and tasted very bad. Fried rice looked preheated. Then they brought the bill and charged us 30£ for 2 meals. Yesterday had fresh fish for 2 for 29£

My wife and I visited here whilst in Oban for our first wedding anniversary and loved it! We ordered a wide selection of food (Chinese tapas style) and enjoyed every bit of the food. So fresh and tasty. The staff were lovely and friendly, taking the time to chat to us at our table. It is possibly one of our favourite Chinese restaurants and felt like a home from home when it comes to Chinese food. When we return to Oban we will absolutely be back!

Beautiful food and very friendly and efficient staff. I highly recommend that you dine here if you are in Oban. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and it has never disappointed.

Ordered a tofu with bean sauce dish. The fried tofu cubes were magically empty on the inside, basically a very chewy, unappetizing, spongy shell. The bean sauce flavor was okay. The person taking my order seemed to have a hard time understanding my english, so it's easiest if you don't try to make any changes or substitutions. I found out after I ordered that they do not accept card payment below £20. I had no cash. I would have just walked out if they didn't take my card.

Not recommend. Taking order now only possiable by take away what i found out after paid. Fries not salted overall poor quality. My take away order didn’t include any cutlery. First and last time there.

The meal will much better than I expected, it was cooked to perfection and really tasty.

This Chinese is not disability friendly. We had a table booked for 6 of us but we were unable to make the booking due to having a wheelchair. When we said about there being no other way in they said "well it's only 6 steps". The food may be nice but we weren't able to try it.

Standard chinese food. Misleading drinks menu. I was very surprised to be charged £9.50 for a pint of Tiger beer.

Was initially dubious because of a few bad reviews, but really enjoyed dinner. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. A lady and her son were serving us and they were both lovely. Food was really tasty and quick, especially seen as the takeaway was very busy. Seen a lot of comments about it being pricey but I think it was very reasonably priced. No more expensive than any other restaurant these days.

As someone reviewed, the price on the menu displayed in front of the restaurant and its Facebook are different from the menu on the table in the restaurant. It is really misleading even if any conditions are described somewhere.
