Everything looked deep fried burnt and taste burnt . Totally terrible, disgusting, and inedible, one word DIABOLICAL. I have gave them the benefit of doubt since the most excellent Vin kee shut but can't believe how bad the food is.

Went for an evening meal after a long time without being able to go to a restaurant. Pleased to report we weren't disappointed. We were seated promptly at a table for two and were immediately asked if we would like a drink. The server was very attentive as it wasnt the busiest evening, even though it was a Saturday. The menu itself is very extensive, with set meals as well as a la carte. We opted for a la carte. Our starters were Wonton soup(9/10), Butterfly King Prawns(9/10), salt & pepper squid(10/10) and salt & pepper ribs(7/10). This is due to a bit of "frozen" aftertaste on the ribs. After this our mains arrived, 2 portions of egg fried rice(one is enough for two people), beef in oyster sauce(7/10), again unfortunately a bit of "frozen" aftertaste on the beef but the sauce was delicious and the beef very tender. Also had the XO Squid + Prawns which were amazing(10/10). All in all a very good meal and hope the management will look into my comments on the ribs and beef. My ratings are only deducted for the food not being quite as good as it could have been. Definitely be back.

Best Chinese Cuisine in Colchester and Chelmsford

Good fish and chips from here. I would recommend and buy from here again. Great portion sizes and very reasonable prices - Large cod, regular chips and mushy peas cost £11.50. The freshly cooked-to-order cod was a decent size and was good quality fish. The only thing letting it down was that the batter was a little undercooked / still wet on the inside; it was crispy on the outside, not greasy and not too thick. A couple of minutes longer in the oil and probably would have been perfect. Nice chips, well cooked and not soggy or greasy and a generous portion sizes.

Generous portions, tasty food. Had beef chow mein and it was really good. Prompt delivery and friendly service. First time using this place but will do again.

The best chinese takeaway in existence. Fortune Inn has got me through tough times, the most insidious hangovers, and a million celebrations. The only issue I have ever had is the fact that its now impossible to get a chinese from anywhere else as nothing compares.

Pleasant staff and the food I've tried was really nice. I generally order the Chicken and Sweetcorn soup, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, any of the noodles but I tend to go udon, and then also salt and pepper ribs or salt and pepper tofu. All really tasty - i'd say the salt and pepper dishes could have more spices and flavour, it's sometimes a little weak-flavoured. I'd recommend collecting as the front of house are pleasant.

I recently moved , soo used to my "old" take away... which we loved ..UNTIL WE ORDERED here....(Wife and daughter happy), great taste, and great service...food amazing.. Helio Santos

Ordered prawn wantons, no prawn in it at all, could not eat. Salt and pepper ribs, no meat on them, all fat and portion so small. Ordered chicken & mushroom with chips and fried rice, arrived and was mushroom soup instead of chicken and mushroom. Called to complain, they did to be fair bring the correct main meal, on arrival gave them the wantons and chips back as they were inedible. I must say the chicken and mushroom also not great and the fried rice was just disgusting, it was like mush. OMG this was the worst chinese we have ever had. What is it with chinese takeaways these days, can not find a decent one. This one is hands down the WORST. Dont order from here. Currently making a slice of toast. I don't think the local foxes would eat it eaither.

We booked on the basis of reviews and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. I ate far too much but we couldn’t leave anything- it was amazing. Quick, efficient service and the place was packed (a good sign of its popularity)

I spent a weekend in York and came across this Chinese takeaway by chance – and I’m so glad I did! The staff were incredibly friendly and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious, freshly made, and arrived quickly. Definitely worth a visit!

We waited over an hour for our delivery. Food arrived tepid. We'd said we didn't want sweet & sour sauce with our pancake rolls, but still got charged for them! Also said we did not want prawn crackers, but they still delivered them. Such a waste!

Ordered food from here on the 20th December. The food was delicious, the best I have had since moving to Brighton. Singapore noodles, chicken balls, were very filling and the quality was top notch. The delivery was quick and the staff were friendly on the phone. Would highly recommend.

Ordered online very early to be delivered at 19:00, 19:20 food hadn’t arrived, rang them to find where food was and a very rude woman said it should be here as driver had left at 19:10, 19:50 still hadn’t received it so rang again and was told he should have delivered it, it arrived at 19:53 and was freezing cold. Driver told us that he had 3 other deliveries before us that they made him do. They didn’t care that the food was stone cold, no apology for the nearly an hour late delivery or the cold food, she spoke to me as if it was my fault…. Absolutely disgusting service… AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE …….
