Our favourite Chinese takeaway is our local in Chellaston. However whilst visiting my sister in chaddesden ,where we've tried many in this area to our disappointment we decided to try Evergreen Gardens in Chester Green. Absolutely beautiful food, great quality, great service, great value for money . Honestly the best Chinese we've ever had. If they deliver to Chellaston they're top of our list. The lady who delivered it was pleasant and very polite.

Absolutely banging! Asked for delivery at 7:30 and it was right on time. Hot and tasty, was going to save some for work but absolutely smashed the lot! Bosh. Delivery driver was a decent guy as well.

Took 1 hour and 10 min to arrive, one meal missing, meat spring rolls so greasy tasted awful threw them away they brought the missing meal and tried to charge for delivery again,discusted sent it back and menu 2 years out of date so cost more than expected overall not a good experience defiantly won't go there again6q

I ordered at 7.10pm over the phone the ladie was polite and told me it would be around 40 mins. nearly 2 hours later the food still hadnt come and the sauces were very watery. I called twice to see where my order was the first time was an hour after i ordered to which i was told it hadnt even been started yet. I just got told they were too busy...dissapointed with the whole experience to be fair. I felt sick i was that hungry by the time the food came and didnt enjoy it and to top it off the delivery driver didnt even appologise, was to bothered about taking the money!. i think this is a fair comment after what happened tonight hence the 1 star. i wont order from here again. expensive and not great quality.

Food quality was terrible, never had this problem from them before but tonight food was all overcooked. We threw most away. And that's on top of that it was a hour late on top of the long wait as it was.

Amazing service, best chinese takeaway you can find in Derby. Asked to add extra pancakes and in the end got a free them. On the package it said "Extra one free for you :)". In general amazing service and amazing communication, immediate responses to everything, definitely recommend for anyone who loves a good Chinese!

Dietary instructions not met. I asked for no onions and no chicken, and requested a substitute. Dish arrived full of onions and contained poultry. Nonetheless driver was lovely.

Delivery was great. Egg fried rice was nice. Chicken was okay. Salt and pepper chips was a big portion, but tasted of barely anything to me. To me they seemed a bit dry, weirdly sweet and just had a few scraps of onion etc at bottom.

The boiled rice was watery and the sweet and sour sauce tasted like vinegar

Some of the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had. Very fresh and perfectly cooked however it’s a 4 for service as it’s cash only. The woman behind the counter is lovely and polite. In the end I ordered through just eat for collection but annoying meant my order was £2 more as I had to pay what I assume is commission to just eat. I will be back but only when I have cash

Food quality and ingredients have been seriously cut back on. What was once a decent dish is now an absolute waste of money. Staff uninterested, any decent outfit would ask what they could do to make things better. These are not interested in customers thoughts but very interested in taking your money.

Really nice curry , perfectly cooked rice , delicious salt & pepper chicken … They got really really good food 👌 a little more spicy then what I love but still beautiful …. Ahh and they don’t add prom crackers… do u need to ask for them …

this place was very good: the staff working were extremely pleasant and of great service - even when i did not know what to order and felt confused, ha ha! the woman, especially, at the counter makes me want to go again, actually. i digress. the food was of amazing taste and value; the sweet and sour chicken was simply delectable and i felt very safe there. it might be expensive but it was worthy every penny!

Had a takeaway from Evergreen Garden tonight for the first time and can say it is without doubt the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had! 5 stars doesn't do it justice!

Awful. The smallest portion I have ever been served anywhere ever...... not even enough sweet and sour to cover the extremely tough chicken..... not to mention the super-salty beef and chicken wings which were basically deep fried from Iceland.... if you think this is good food you really should get out more.... never again......

the food took forever to come, to start it off it was cold so we had to warm it up and then when we sat to eat it was bland no flavour and isn’t worth the money at all i will not be recommending to anyone !

The worst food experience I have had the misfortune to order chicken was disgusting the curry was thick like full of flour the sweet and sour chicken was watery and soggy would not recommend this takeaway where have they got excellent reviews from £30 wasted

New owners had a slow start but the previous chef is back and now the best in Derby again.

As a local we're immensely lucky to have this Chinese on our doorstep. The food is always freshly cooked and stunning. Service is also excellent. Thoroughly recommend.

I ordered food and found hair in my food, when I called the guy straight away asked what colour hair it was and then denied that it wasn’t them because no one there has that hair colour. He carried on to say he will come collect the food and sent it for dna test. His customer service skills were shocking there was no sense of apology or remorse. He just suggested that I planted the hair in my own food.

Although we may be a bit predictable, we order the same delicious food every time. We have fabulous salt and pepper ribs (well done), chicken fried rice and chips. The food is always delivered within the time slot they give, the driver is always polite and the food is piping hot. Great food, delivered on time and hot, what more cold we want.

Although I be lived not far away for years, whilst driving past, a few weeks ago, we happened to visit. What can I say, very friendly lady took our order, asked to wait outside, due to lockdown. In what seemed no time at all, our two meals were ready. We took the food home, the aroma alone was a treat. We put on plates and dishes, scooped up a selection of the food. Wooooooow, the food tasted beyond belief, it melted in the palate, the exquisite taste surrounded my taste buds, and I was suddenly transferred to excotic garden in China. The food was out of this world, what have we been missing. We have been back a few times now whenever in the area and hungury. A perfect end to any day. Thank you everyone at Evergreen Gardens.

Thank you! You saved our anniversary treat! Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed so we went hunting and found every other takeaway closed until the Evergreen Garden! Food is quite good, but keep well away from the king prawn spring rolls they have shredded dried out pastry on the outside which you can't eat without drinking water, and one prawn in each and one piece of spring onion in just one of them. Not worth the money.

We've ordered a few takeaways from Evergreen Garden and they have all been great. No issues with delivery. Hot and tasty food. We've had good and bad Chinese food in Derby (and there a couple of rough dog and cat places out there) and this is one of the best places to get a takeaway from. Would definitely recommend. Yes there are cheaper places to get a Chinese from but bear in mind how many pets have gone missing around those cheaper places. Stir fried tabby.......yum!

I ordered from Evergreen Garden while working in Derby (as our key-worker hotel wasn’t serving food). Probably one of the best and most appreciated Chinese meals I’ve eaten. The food was freshly cooked and piping hot, very generous portions and excellent quality. The Singapore chow mein had big king prawns, not shrimps! The beef in the curry was soft and tender - the curry had extra heat and no mushrooms, exactly as requested. Collection was seamless and all the required Covid-19 measures were in place. I will be heading back when I’m next working up in Derby. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered a takeaway from this takeaway as i pass the place on a regular basis and often thought of giving the place a go. We made the order of chicken and mushroom soups for starters then sweet and sour chicken and beef with green peppers and black bean sauce. We also had chip's and prawn crackers. The soups were bland , just some not so fresh sliced mushrooms in a broth that was just none descript just bland and boring. The chicken mains looked a bit radioactive and to be honest tasted bland again and it was obvious by looking at the sweet and sour sauce the chicken was in had been watered down to the point that there was little flavour to taste . Same with the beef !!! Watered down and was just not nice to eat . I actually put the chicken in the bin as we just didn't like the texture of the chicken. The egg fried rice was nice the prawn crackers were a little under cooked the chip's were nice. We paid getting on for £27 for this food that was to be honest not the best. I think under this lock down we are all in I'm going back to what I've been doing for months. Cooking my own lovely food that tastes really nice be it chinese or a home made curry or what ever good fresh healthy food at fraction of the price. It is nice to have a treat at the weekend and not having to cook but when hard earned money is wasted on a delivery that was as bland as the one from this place washing the pots the next day isn't such a chore after all.

Took 3 hours for food to arrive last night! Ever time we rang, we were told it would be another half an hour and then was told it would be delivered now. 45 minutes after that it showed up, but at the wrong door!! So expensive for how long we waited, will be unlikely to return

An hour and forty five minutes for delivery. Such a fake unsure if patronizing apology. Tried to make changes after ringing was told once the order was taken there could Be no changes then it took an hour and a half more at least for it to arrive a mile and a half away. I don't leave reviews but this I thought might help replace the lack of service. It's an expensive Chinese portions were no bigger and it was bland but I would of just not ordered again, until the whole thing became a shambles just don't waste your time.
