Consistently great dishes. Delivered within the estimated time. Easily my favourite Chinese takeaway in Derby.

Ordered a meal online and waited over an hour, they then cancelled my order without an explanation and I'm on a 12 hour night shift. Will never use these again and I will make sure people are aware.

No sweet and sour chicken balls in order even though they were ordered, then had to wait for them to be delivered, other food cold by the time they arrived. Ordered 3 pancake rolls and each were in there own bag and there was a pool of grease, prawn crackers were stale too. NEVER ordering from here again.

All the food was nice and hot, the salt and chili chips and chicken were super spicy! Too spicy for me, but the kids enjoyed it! And the spare ribs in BBQ sauce reminded me of a Chinese I went to as a kid, so an all rounder for me! Absolutely would go here again!

Ordered July 11th, Order accepted and money taken After 2 hrs after tracking was still be shown as cooking, I suddenly got ORDER CANCELLED.. I rang them up only to be told my a patronising woman, that they had no drivers!! Said well you must have known that when you accepted my order and took my money, demanded my money back and she said you will get it back in 3 to 5days, Been told today by Foodhub, 1 will recieve it on July 18th, (7days) Takes them 2 mins to take it from your bank so they should pay it back in the same time Just disgusting how they can do what they like Never acknowledge them again

Delivery time was fantastic but the food was only ok

We had 3 satay dishes, all 3 had a different taste, and all of them were terrible. In my opinion not good.

Had a steak and asked for it well done and it's definitely not well done very fatty and very cold

Had the black pepper special. Could have been a slightly bit peppery, however the meat was lovely, did not taste processed like most Chinese takeaways. Overall a lovely dish

Order arrived hor and fresh and was delicious. A big thanks also to the restaurant... we found that one of our items (my daughter's meal) was missing, so I called the restaurant and the very polite lady on the phone apologised and told me they would get the food ready and deliver it to us ASAP. True to their word 20mins later the missing food was delivered along with some extra prawn crackers. We will be ordering again, many thanks 😊

Honestly probably the best chinese takeaway I've in as long as I can remember, came in super quick time well before the time stated and was piping hot, driver really polite as well, top marks all round and will defo order again

The children satay’s were nice but a little salty but the pancake roll THE PANCAKE ROLL was the BIGGEST I’d ever seen. I thought there was 2 in the bag it was that BIG and it was delicious mmmmwwwaaaa

Delivery time was about 60 minutes early which could be great, or you may miss it if believing the estimated time. Food was hot, but here goes the review: this used to be our go to Chinese takeaway before changing owners. Ordered same dishes as we do from our current option. Smells were great when arrived, but flavour was lacking in the special curry. No beef found, no curry heat and the sauce was quite runny. Food arrived around 30 mins earlier than suggested time. Hot, fresh and good portion sizes. Only thing I will suggest is, put broccoli in the vegetable chowmein please :) Definitely recommend

Food was awful tasted of cleaning products chips left a really nasty taste in your mouth .hard to explain and the rice tasted like nail polish remover overall was awful when I rang to try and tell them the lady was rude and wasn’t very helpful all she could say was bring back my food honesty won’t be ordering from there again used to be a lovely place to order from gone down hill since 2000

Gone a bit downhill lately but overall not too bad. Thier pancake rolls ate massive and not yo shabby. But thier Chow main needs work

Most of the time delivery takes well over an hour, even though the website states that the maximum delivery time is one hour. They accept bad orders than they are capable of processing. Difficult to contact.

The worse chinese chips I have ever had, they looked like they where cooked and left to go cold and then cooked again and left to go cold to be cooked for a third time, they tasted disgusting and looked disgusting had to throw them away. I would never order from the king Do chinese takeaway as long as i live around this area.

Probably the most bland Chinese food in Derby. Chili beef and Chefs special looked the same, tasted of nothing and the Chili beef had no heat or spice. Chow mein was also tasteless. Thank god for chili oil. The only things enjoyed were the chips and prawn crackers. Wish I'd read the reviews before ordering. Avoid if you can

Disgusted just had 2 steaks could not get teeth into it £24 thrown down the drain steak in the bin

Ordered beef curry it was disgusting the meat was soft and slimy l would not describe it as beef . The sauce you could slice it. The only nice thing out the meal was the chicken chow mein. Majority of the order is in the bin . What a waste of £36. Is it new owners as it used go there a while ago and it was so nice .very disappointing.

Haven't been here for ages. Lovely food that wasn't greasy like others. Friendly staff. Will visit again when we're up that way.

The beef curry has changed and I think its not as good

Charged my card 3 times for same order. Went in shop to sort and wasted nearly an hour of my time. I'll now be taking it up with my bank. Food is terrible here now as not run by the same people that used to win awards. Will never be going back

We had a takeaway last night and thought that the delivery service was good and the meals were made of fresh ingredients, the king prawns being delicious. The sauce in the chow mein and duck tested the same and we thought a bit bland. The pancake roll was enormous, but again lacked flavour in our opinion and had a very thick batter. The prawn crackers were nice and crispy.

Egg fried rice, black pepper sauce and chips order...get home with curry sauce...come on it's simple. Miss the old place now in littleover....I'll go there from now on:(

This place used to be excellent in early 2000s, it is now the poorest quality Chinese food in the Midlands, terrible food quality, poor customer service, stay away guys.

I have only one star for this place and thats because the food came 1hr early.... the food was an absolute disaster. The prawn toast was dripping in grease, the spring rolls are better at Iceland for a £1, the special fried rice was greasy and soggy, and the Cantonese roast duck was all batter and gristle and not even roast duck.... it was in greasy batter and not duck breast. My hubby said the Singapore chow mein was horrid. So really when we only have a treat every couple of months, if that i might as well have thrown the £26 IN THE BIN BECAUSE THATS WHERE MOST OF THE FOOD WENT....DIABOLICAL. do not buy your food from here if you have good taste. So annoyed.

Have tried many Chinese takeaways in Derby. This one is the very best. Consistently good food. Always hot, order correct and fast delivery with a smile. Have tried many of the dishes on the menu and not found one that's not been tasty. A fair price too. Thank you.

I have had this Chinese for years and I would give it 6 stars if that was a choice I could not recommend it more i have it most weekends and have no complaints. :)

We always used King do as it did the best extra hot curry sauce and the king do house special fried rice was awesome. Except for this time.. The curry sauce was like gravy, the fried rice tasted like it had been there for a week, there was a nasty taste to it. The chips must have been there since before the lock down. I hate writing bad reviews as it has always been our favourite. I rang back and just got told we will give you 10% off the next order. That's no good for this order, and I'm sorry, we will not be ordering again from you.

The worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. I had a chicken chow mein with “sauce” and barely managed half of it. Huge chunks of chicken at the bottom with really watery noodles just plonked on top. Very much akin to the type you boil in a pan at home. Previous orders from this restaurant have been just about ok, minus their sub par Szechuan, but this one made sure I wouldn’t be returning.

We stopped using this restaurant last year as the food became very unpleasant. Decided to try again and we were shocked with how bad the food was. Black pepper sauce looked like engine oil and had an disturbing taste, chicken was rubbery. When I phoned them they wanted to send out a replacement for both meals. I said you should have made it better the first time, not have 2 attempts to get it right. Have saved the food to send to the food standards agency, when I inevitably become sick tomorrow.

Meal arrived after 35 minutes but was cold. After reheating them both I realised the black pepper sauce was appalling, it looked like engine oil and probably tasted like it too! Last time I use this restaurant as it’s not the first time this has happened recently

Food is faultless always hot and never incorrect. I would never eat Chinese food from anywhere other than here. Ordered a meal from here last night and as normal the food was lovely, the chips were thick and chunky, the spare ribs were perfect as well as the special fried rice and chicken curry. Great food.

Been using this chinese for 20 years without a problem. Tonight the food is appalling and not like we have ever had from King doo before. Missed the black pepper sauce and small amount of onions and peas which there are normally plenty of. The rest of the order was usual standard which to be fair is normally very good. Not sure what the probelm was tonight but not up to their usual standards.

I've used the king do for many years but lately have had reason to maybe use another. On 3 occasions when ordering on the website I have clearly added a note regarding the amount of onions added to the curries requesting them to be limited or none at all. Each time ignored....same ratio of onion....way way too many. Try reading what customers would.like if you want to keep.them Plus when you.pre order for delivery later when they open even though you ask for asap...it defaults to 7 to.7.30pm so beware of that one

Ordered some food, 2.5hours later, it turns up, I said either free or take it back so instead of keeping customers kinda happy, they just take it back😂😂 Very poor standard's since new staff

This takeaway had a change of staff last year and I think the standard of food is now suffering. The curry sauce now tastes powdery and even the fried rice tastes dry. Cutting their costs to increase profits will only result in less customers.

Had order delivered completley wrong only for the man on the phone to give poor customer service and not offer to rectify it with WHAT I ACTUALLY ORDERED! Never ordering again

Quality food cooked fresh each time. As a family we have tried many Chinese takeaways around Littleover area and consider this one to be best. Delivery can sometimes take a while but they normally state on the phone how long they will be, but this is just because they are so popular.

Sorry to say the quality and flavour of the food has gone down hill. Having been going to the take away for 6 plus years its just not that good any more. The service is prompt and kinda friendly and the delivery service is reasonable. I'm just not that jazzed by the food anymore, would like some thing really nice fresh and tasty not just the usual bland chicken chunks in oddly thick sauces with far too many green peppers.

I’ve previously enjoyed food from King Do & have always collected it. I ordered a delivery on this occasion. AFTER ordering on the Bigfoodie website it told me it would be 1 & a half hours for me to get my food. If I had known that before I wouldn’t have ordered from King Do (this was a Saturday night) When the delivery driver arrived outside he rang me and said he was waiting in the car! I am charged for a delivery for me to have to collect from the street!! I live in a first floor apartment & the whole reason for ordering a Chinese delivery is so that I don’t have to venture out! There were 2 people in this car also! 1 of them could have delivered to the door & done their job surely! Totally unacceptable!! I will not be ordering from King Do again! Change your delivery driver & service!

Been going here for for over 20 years, not any more. Young lad who takes orders has absolutely no sense of customer service. Now charge a minimum of £10 for card payment even by contactless (isn't this what it's for?) lots of better Chinese takeaways nearby (3 in Littleover Village alone)

After using King Do for 15 years, I'm so disappointed to be writing this review. This is the 4th time that we have been waiting over 2 hours for our delivery which is totally unacceptable, especially as at the point of ordering are warned it could take up to an hour 1 hour 15 max!!!!!!!! The food still tastes delicious but woukd be better if hot. Deeply deeply disappointed with what in my opinion was the best takeaway in Derby. Please hire more staff and try and save your reputation

Use to be the best of the best, but sadly no longer so. Have given the current incumbents several chances, but the food no longer "floats my Junk"!

Best Chinese food around but delivery service is dreadful took them 1hr 30 minutes for delivery less than a mile down the road. If they had rang me I'd picked it up

Beautiful vegetarian food and fast local delivery, we have been coming here for years now and never been disappointed, staff are brilliant!

Been a customer for 20 plus years and always had excellent food and servcice but won't be going back. Front of house has changed in the past six months and now customer service is non existent. Specifically Ordered chow mein without bean sprouts and got them with. They then said it was my fault for not being specific. Ordered a satay and schezuan chicken and they were both watered down and extremely bland. I was told that it was the way they were always cooked and that I must not have ordered for a while. Really defensive. Had to go down to collect the chow mein and they gave me a smaller portion in exchange and I had to point out I ordered a large and rather than believe me, they went through their receipts. Extremely disappointing experience with no effort to smooth things over. Literally left a bad taste in my mouth. Sadly won't be going back and they clearly don't care about losing long standing business. Won't be recommending either!

It took a lot of patience to get past my address, the lady taking my call did not understand it and then she pain stakingly spelt every letter out to me, oh and my phone number. I then had to chase my order after an hour to find it was on the way, to then receive a call because the driver couldn't find us. I give up, if these companies didn't change their drivers so rapidly they would find it easier to find us. Food was ok but service appalling!

Have beeb a regular customer for a few months now and always been happy ubtil today. Ordered pork with mushrooms no onions and received a portion of mushrooms in gravy. Really not impressed. Phoned up to complain and got told it would be 45 minutes which by then the rice would be freezing cold. (already waited an hour). Will not be using you again.

whenever we order chinese it comes within a reasonable amount of time. the lady on the phone is never food as i had experienced this from another takeaway. we have chinese from here about 4xs a year and I would highly recommend new ownership now it seems so hopefully the service stays the same

First and Last time i will be ordering from King Do. Ordered chicken and vegetable Chow Mein. Vegetables were undercooked, Noodles were watery & had no flavor The chicken was just boiled chicken pieces placed on top of the noodles. Very disappointed
