My wife and I moved to Gosport seven years ago. We both enjoy Chinese food and while there is a good choice of take away establishments the eat in Chinese restaurant choices are limited. We soon discovered T & Js but the restaurant didn't look particularly inviting and so the years went by without a visit. However they do offer a good lunch time deal and after discovering they enjoyed good reviews we decided to bite the bullet and give them a try. What a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and obliging and the food was delicious. The £10 lunch option offered a starter, main and soft drink or tea or coffee. We have been back since and shall now continue to frequent the restaurant. We would have visited the establishment far earlier than we did had it had kerb appeal and others will probably perceive the place in a similar vein.

Food was delicious. Staff were very polite and chatty. I asked for extra chilli and they didn't charge me...prawn dish was spiced lot anyway. Definitely come back. Loved it. The only thing I didn't like is they automatically add on service charge and I prefer to add my own tip.

Decor was really lovely and tasteful. Reasonable prices for food and portion sizes were fair. £5 for lager seems steep but I suppose its about right. They made my nana feel really special on her birthday singing to her! Great location and amount of parking. Also easily accessible for nana in her wheelchair. Would recommend the beef and green pepper in black bean sauce and the chowmein with soft noodles.

Can't believe I've just paid a fiver for plain chips with some chopped up peppers on them tasted like nothing, not only that but with them being a fiver would have thought they'd give me a decent portion, gone in 30 seconds only about 10 chips in the box 😂

Arrived and was seated straight away (earlier than the time we'd booked). Drinks were served quickly, food was good but I think as we went mid evening, they weren't bringing out as much fresh stuff. The selection was very good though with plenty of different choices and the desserts were good too. Will definitely be going there again.

Do not eat here if you suffer with allergies. First, the waiting staff could not provide an allergy menu (they do not have one - in spite of the legal requirement to be able to produce this information). Second, when we asked for a simple half a peking duck, we couldn't have this either as the restaurant fries nut-based dishes in the same oil as the rest of the other food. I ended up having a quarter duck and my partner, with allergies, just had rice... and then she had an allergic reaction. Cross-contamination is rife in this kitchen. We will not be back.

Ok I usually get my take away from here and ot really is brilliant. But and it's a big but would I eat inside? No way unless of course I was offered to dine upstairs. Reason is it's so tiny and I don't really fancy dining in the lower area as you are in full view of everyone else waiting to pick up there takeaway and going to the counter to submit their orders or pay. Now please I'm no prude but it really is tiny, but as stated food and service is excellent.

This listing needs to be changed to reflect that this restaurant is not Mrs Wong's. It went under new ownership and changed its name to 'Cozy Woods' many years ago. All the more recent and largely negative reviews reflect this new restaurant, not the Streatham institution that was Mrs Wong's, and frankly they are a stain on the good name of what was once an incredibly beloved community favourite. Cozy Woods, stop trying to capitalise on the reputation and goodwill built up by the real Mrs Wong's over many decades. Much love to the original owners and staff.
