AVOID, AVOID AVOID!! THE worst takeaway I've had. Ever! Who puts beans sprouts and runner beans in a MIXED MEAT CURRY???? the salt and pepper squid was rubber. Not taste like rubber, it WAS rubber! It tasted like they cooked it two hours previously and just warmed it back up in a microwave. Crab claws were "ok". I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs! Throwing you money away and eating stale bread would be better!

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!! I love trying new places and have eaten at nearly all the Chinese takeaways in st Leonard's and I have to say this is the absolute WORST I've had in my life, not just st Leonard's but EVER! i tried loads of the dishes.. who puts bean sprouts in a mixed meat curry with runner beans?? The squid is rubber. Not tastes like rubber, it IS rubber. Like it was cooked the day before and microwaved just before I turned up. I can't list EVERY single dish and what they did wrong but it just got worse and worse the more I had... Just got to ANY OTHER takeaway but this one! 🤮🤮

Really clean and tidy friendly service, but most of all fantastic food this has improved greatly and rarely use other Chinese takeaway, would recommend this shop without exception.

OK, not too greasy, good portion size. Nothing special, just your average Chinese but good enough to use again

This place honestly does the best chowmein

Prompt delivery but unfortunately the food was not great. The duck chow mein was very fatty and the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was too tough. Disappointing.

We tried here tonight after having a menu delivered this afternoon, really nice well worth the price, very large portion's, would highly recommend.... Thank you

Just had a Chinese from Magic Wok, absolutely fantastic. The king do spare ribs pancake roll, chicken curry & vegetable fried noodles were delicious. Didn't take pictures as we were to hungry lol. Next time. Highly recommended will use again. 👌

Friendly staff clean place lovely hot food decent portions

A few years back we had a maggot in the rice and needless to say never went there again until now and really wish we had not! We usually go to the Silverhill Chinese Takeaway which is fresh, tasty and very reasonable, alas they were shut tonight so my husband suggested we try the magic wok again as it has been a few years. The noodles and rice were super dry and bland, the meat was gristly and there was some sloppy type unidentifiable meat substitute in the special fried rice. It made me feel sick and I couldn't eat any more. To top it off its super overpriced. My advice avoid at all costs.

Tried here for the first time tonight as we normally go to peking takeaway but it was a bit of a mistake as the food just wasn’t very nice. Very over priced for what it is. Just didn’t enjoy it. Will stick to peking takeaway.

Even though we have a Chinese takeaway 500 yards from our house we always order from Magic Wok in Silverhill and have done for many years. Staff always friendly, food delivered well within the time scale given. Always hot and tasty...would never order from anywhere else.

I feel sad saying this but the Magic Wok has gone badly down hill in the last month or so..,I’ve been a faithful customer for over 14 years...it’s always been what I consider the best in town..always so fresh and perfectly prepared and cooked. I recommended to friends about a month ago and the whole order was awful...nothing to save it! Flavourless noodles and burnt batter. Even the rice was dreadful! The Tofu with black bean which is normally a dream was a dirge..watery sauce and undercooked Tofu. Because I’ve been such a loyal customer I couldn’t just give up on them so ordered a meal this evening just for myself. Sadly It was the same story. Just badly cooked! Overcooked batter to the point of the chicken underneath being frazzled and burnt amongst other disappointments. Maybe they have changed hands? Perhaps it’s a different chef..either way their is a big problem and I sincerely hope they can come back from this!

The best Chinese I have found in Hastings!!

The food was the worst I have tasted it was very bland and full of salt. I have been going there for 2yrs and the food has changed over the last few weeks .i will not going anymore.

Tried here recently and had a really good experience. Pleasant, helpful staff, delicious food that was piping hot and full of flavour. I would definitely go back again. Thanks guys!

Used this takeaway whilst on holiday, so did not have high hopes. A very decent Chinese, Singapore Chow Mien and prawn balls very nice, although curry sauce was not nice. They don’t take cards but they do serve food in foil containers which is a positive for me! They do deliver

Nice tasty food hot as well, I did go to the shop myself, if ordered for home delivery think it would be a little wait though quiet busy.

We have use this take a way for many years and spend over £40 each order. So, we ordered duck in plum sauce. Because they had run out they decided to give an equal replacement which was not nice. We called them and said this needed to be sorted the next order we did. Hey ho we did this and the person on the end of the line was rude and said they had already provided an alternative. What a way to lose loyal custom just because they didnt accept they were in the wrong. Plenty of other Chineses in the town to spend our money on. Poor show

People here are very lucky to have a Chinese that uses real meat in their dishes! Definitely the best Chinese I have had for months, highly recommend, we had the meal for two and swapped the prawns for a beef chow main, great portions everything cooked beautifully! Thank you 😀

The most amazing Chinese food in years

I've just had one of the best takeaways I've ever eaten from here. Cashews in the crispy shredded beef was an unexpected but pleasant surprise, everything was well cooked and very tasty. I'll definitely be eating from here again.

The best Chinese food around this area in our opinion, been using Magic Wok for years, but sadly the long delivery times have let it down for us. Especially on the last occasion we ordered, and after being told the usual hour and a quarter wait, that upon two hours of waiting and no sign of food, I phoned to check the status of our delivery, and was told that my order was ready but awaiting a driver to collect it, therefore, as they still weren't certain as to when I would get my order, (and it was past 9pm by this time) I was forced to cancel, very disappointed!!!! Would of loved to of given 5stars, but as this is about the fourth time a similar situation has occurred I've given a 3star rating.

I've been to this Chinese many times, as I prefer it to my local. I've ordered many different meals from the menu BUT DO NOT order the salt and pepper chips....the chips, onions and peppers are rock solid....like they aren't cooked but they are as there's a ton of oil swimming in the bottom of the tray!!

Really lovely meal for the family. Lots to eat, lovely taste & quality. Was delivered in the time given. Was missing a curry sauce but was delivered within 5mins of calling. Would order again & recommend to others.

Local to me, I opt for delivery mainly. Great food and always hot on arrival. Roasted pork curry and prawn curry really good as is there Special Chow Mein.
