Disgusting rude nd do not go! They are so rude.. Do not fix orders when they're wrong! Please do not waste your time nd money!

First time I’ve looked on trip advisor for Peking Garden, am very surprised at the negative reviews. Me and my family have got take away from here since moving to Hastings from London over 8 years ago. Always happy with our orders, very tasty and never greasy. Salt n pepper ribs, phoenix prawns, won ton soup and chair Sui rice to name a few are the best take away Chinese we’ve had. They work bloody hard, it’s authentic and the service/ delivery is excellent.

I really would not recommend this place, I ordered Singapore rice noodles and the veg was tasteless and boiled… not stir fried. The mange tout didn’t have a fresh green colour… it was also not hot… lukewarm. I called to talk to them about it and they didn’t seem at all bothered and insisted that’s how it normally is. If you want fresh Chinese there is better in the area.

Absolutely awful. Chilli beef was inedible, threw it away. Chilli beef sauce seemed to be just vinegar. Fried veg was ok. Spare ribs were acceptable. Rice was ok. Do not go there.

Food was Luke warm and had strange dirty off taste throughout. Not enjoyable what soever. Stopped eating after having an awful tasting bit of chicken. Been violently sick for the last 10 hours

just ordered a meal that I have ordered three times before which was delicious This time oriental mini ribs tough and cold, sweet and sour king prawn balls over crispy and cold and chop suey half the amount and nothing in it never going here again the woman was very rude to me and tried to make excuses she asked me to bring it back because this was a delivery and I have just come out of the hospital and when i said I was unable to was met with cheekiness

Do not order from here for delivery we ordered at 6.30 still no food at 8.35 despite phoning and being assured it’s on its way twice.

This restaurant has provided the most appalling customer service I have ever received. The call handler was extremely rude in her attitude. My food has still not arrived an hour and 45 minutes after I ordered it, despite 2 follow up calls! A further review will follow ice the good arrives…if it does!!!

Be aware as of 02/august/2022 the restaurant appears to have shut down there is a single chair visible from the window

I could easily forgive them not taking card if the food was good but it really wasn't. First thing noticed was that the vegetable spring rolls were the regular meat ones. Then in the special curry that I asked for no mushrooms or sea food had a prawn in it, luckily my partner doesn't have an allergy but this could have been a very dangerous experience. Less important was that my fried vegetables were a little stringy and woody and my egg fried rice was just really bland.

The restaurant is permanently closed

Pricey, but food and service were great

I find the menu lacking in signs for hot and vegetarian meals..like their beancurd satay is apparently hot so they made it mild for me...no hot sign on the menu tho. And on that particular meal, it was so unpeanutty...had to add my own peanut butter. There is a vegetarian section for meals , but elswhere are vegetarian meals too, would be good to have a visual indication But it was good they offered to make the satay more mild, and knew what was not vegan but vegetarian.

We have ordered from here on several occasions throughout 2020 - 2021 and cannot fault the food or the service. The food is excellent and the prices are what we expect to pay at any Chines Takeaway. The food is plentiful for the price and the delivery service is very good. You can order online or by phone. All I can say is - TRY IT. We will certainly continue to use this place for our Chinese meals.

Propper stirfry. Nice. Simple. Tasty. Fresh. Hot. All ways get my Chinese food there. About 1 a month for 5 years.

Order accepted correctly and efficiently on the telephone. Meals delivered to Westfield at the time advised when ordering. Food was fresh, piping hot and delicious.

We’ve used Peking Garden on and off for a couple of years as the food is normally nice. We had about a year off but recently ordered again twice. The first time it was 45 minutes late without reason and we noticed some of the recipes had changed. However it was still lovely and so tonight we ordered again. 1hr 15 late this time resulting in 2.5hr wait from the time ordered. On phoning to check up on our food I was greeted by a very rude very dismissive female member of staff who cut me off every sentence and never let me fully explain my position. Constantly trying to say goodbye after every sentence and only telling me it was coming. Not why it was late or why i had been misled on timing. I was actually left so disheartened and frustrated I was in tears when the driver finally arrived - for him to then ask if I actually wanted my almost £5 change! Considering I wasn’t offered any form of compensation for the issues and rudeness offered yes, I wanted my change. We unfortunately won’t be back.

We really enjoyed our meal this evening. The food was delicious, and the staff were polite and friendly. We decided to order from this takeaway today after the kind chef let us shelter from the pouring rain as we were passing the morning before, when they were not even open. Thanks again.

I've used Peking Garden since it opened and I've never received such rude service from their counter until now. Food still as you expect but the new owners fail to know their clientell and are damn right rude to the public and from what I heard.... to their staff too. Count me out and I won't be recommending.

Really tasty, standard UK Chinese food. We ordered heavy on the sweet sauces which was our mistake however everything was so tasty it was hard to regret it. Crispy shredded beef and lemon chicken deserve special mention, absolutely delicious, as well as the roast pork fried rice which was so tasty. Arrived within 25 minutes, not the 45-60 minutes we were expecting which was awesome.From some of the reviews it looks like a hate campaign is being waged against this restaurant, I understand complaints were made to the health department - who found everything was as it should be and denied the complaint. We were recommended by a friend who lives locally and regularly orders, we would definitely order again, we'd just included some less sweet options ;)

Service is so friendly I love it there. Food is always lush. For lots of veggie options as well like duck and crispy beef.

I know there have been some negative reviews but I can only say that ours was tasty and was ready and waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. It's worth noting they have invested in large perspex screens so offer good social isolation between the customers and the kitchen which is located directly behind the counter, which is also a good sign in my book as from a hygiene perspective nothing is hidden.

Excellent food and first class service. We are vegetarian and the choice is extensive.

We’ve not had a Chinese for such a long time and it was out of the blue to order one. Well we were thrilled! Inspire of the shocking weather, our food turned up 15 minutes early and was piping hot.. each dish that we had ordered was absolutely gorgeous, fantastic different flavours, not greasy at all and very plentiful. We had the set meal for 2 .. TB and there was enough for another helping. Safe to say the best Chinese takeaway we’ve had in over a year by a mile!!! Definitely will order again when we can.

Waited a long time before my phone order was taken, eventually got my order through and another 50 minute wait. The order had an item missing , couldn't be bothered to wait again. Just your average food ,I've been to better places

Good value Sunday lunch freshly cooked

Food is very good, staff are friendly and attentive, Sunday buffet only lasts for two hours and they stop filling the trays too early and you have to ask for food, only complaint I have of the place. Also ask for detailed bill ????? I leave it to you to decide why.

Amazing atmosphere, staff are really lovely, and the food is so tasty you’ll be thinking about eating there two days maybe three in a row! Definitely worth a visit, their Sunday buffet has a great selection too! Only £12.50 for adults!

On behalf of everyone at Readings Property Services we had a wonderful time at Peking Gardens. Our waiter was exemplary. Very funny and hospitable. We’d definitely would go back and couldn’t recommend highly enough. The food was also to a high standard. Thanks again.

Very rarely have a takeaway, so don’t really know where to go, this one was recommended by my brother and it lived up to expectations - speedy service for a Saturday night and the food was hot and tasty - will definitely use again

This is a great restaurant in Hornchurch, always good food and friendly service. Reasonable prices too.

I’ve used this local Chinese takeaway for 16 years and have spent a lot of money here. It’s now been taken over and is under new management. We noticed this when firstly the free complimentary prawn cracker bag they give you was almost half the size. Now all our favourite dishes are not the same anymore. The yui yim prawn came in a horrible hard batter and the Singapore fried rice tasted like it was just flavoured with curry sauce. The worst thing about the food there now I find is the really weird textured chicken. Kind of slippery and boiled looking? Going to miss that place!

2nd time we have used Peking Garden. Decided to risk low reviews on Trip Advisor and glad we did. Both orders we have collected. The food was very tasty and hot. Will use again and recommend.

Really lovely Chinese food, pleasant service and decent surroundings! This was our first visit but we will definitely be going back!

The food was lovely and the service was good. The only issue I had was with one waiter who decided to listen to the guy next to me in our group who repeatedly talked over me to order me a beer when I kept asking for water. I mean the beer was nice, but seriously! Take the order from the person ordering rather than listening to a drunk guy 'Oh she'll have a beer.'.

Took my wife on the evening of 4th July. We both had a wonderful meal. Service was excellent and even the after dinner brandy was done properly (glass warmed). Considering the high quality of this restaurant the prices are very reasonable. It is obvious that many of the customers in that night were well known by the staff which is always a good sign. It was a perfect evening all round. Thank you Peking Garden.

It's nice but a little pricey. I've had better chinese food but its certainly acceptable.

We were recommended peking garden by friends as they deliver to battle. Very impressed with their service and prompt hot delivery. Food was absolutely lovely. We will be using Peking garden on a regular basis now.

If you are brave enough to order this tasteless pile of crap please order 3 days before!!! As apparently it is delivered via Eastern Europe and arrives in a congealed Luke warm mess . AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH

Not value for money, food no more than average yet pricey. Very noisy inside with 2 birthday groups and young children running between tables. Service poor but they never forget to put the service charge on the bill. We are a group of 9-10 who've used the restaurant for years and notice it's gradual decline. We've agreed to go elsewhere from now on, Peking Gardens loss.

Tasteless food, my chicken was pink In the middle, heard the microwave got 3 times while waiting for my food, rude staff, never again.

Had meals from here in the past about a couple of years ago and they were delicious. Latest one was tasteless and most was thrown away. Customer service was bad also. The person taking the order (he put the phone down the first time I rang) when it was very hard to hear, sounded as if he was right in the kitchen was abrupt and delivery guy said nothing even when I gave a tip.

Food is excellent but quite expensive. Staff are brilliant, with a good sense of humour. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed but that made a great atmosphere. Definitely will go back.

Me and my husband went to Peking garden for dinner as part of celebrating our anniversary. The food was absolutely lovely along with friendly staff. I would say the best Chinese I've had. We will defiantly be returning in the future.

Ordered Wednesday 5pm told 1 hour on dot food arrived very polite del guy food was delicious especially lemon chicken and Prawn curry portions were enormous enough for two days if you want great food try.i will again.

Eye lash in my food and the horrible old man decided to say that I probably put it there ! Also talking to staff inappropriately and treating them with no respect! Food wasn’t anything to shout from the roof tops about.... wouldn’t bother

Great food good portions, well cooked and reasonably priced, a must opens at 5pm and the owner works hard you can see the food being cooked.

I’ve had a couple of takeaways from here, most of it is nice but really disappointed with the crispy chilli beef, it’s usually quite sticky and tasty but it came dry with a separate thin sauce which was horrible and I couldn’t eat any of it. Won’t be getting that again!

Had a delivery from here for two of us and was very happy with it as it was fairly well priced according to other Chinese takeaways in the area - delivery was in a good time as well so we’re also happy with this as well

We hadn't visited this restaurant since its health rating was reduced to two . It now has a healthy five, so we thought we would try the Sunday buffet. The food was good with an excellent choice. Unlike some the food is served in small trays and dishes and frequently replenished, so it is fresh and hot. Enjoyed with a modestly priced bottle of plonk this was an enjoyable and very reasonably priced alternative to meat and two veg.

Have had many good takeaways. We pick up from Warrior Square as difficulty with delivery address. V busy takeaway. Staff friendly. Sometimes items missing, but replaced, when reported. Would always use these brfore venturing further afield. May try one up Norman Road, at the top, as a diversion and change, but no slur on this establishment. T y for all the lovely Saturday moments. Partner not altogether sure of Chinese, this one has won him round!! xx

I read other reviews before I decided to attend and the icing on the cake was the food standards rating which is 5/5. The restaurant is old fashioned - YES, but by whose standards? It's a TRADITIONAL Chinese restaurant, and I think you'll find most Chinese restaurants with such decor (take yourself to China Town if you don't believe me). My other half and I wanted to go out for dinner last Friday and it was a last minute decision. at 9:30 I called to check it was still o.k to visit and they happily obliged. As soon as we visited the staff were courteous and couldn't do enough to accommodate us. It was fairly quiet as it was so late, there were three other sets of diners. We had crispy aromatic duck, special fried rice, sesame prawn toast, crispy seaweed and beef in Black Bean Sauce. The portions were substantial and everything was just the right amount of food (big portions doesn't necessarily mean good food!). Their house red wine was nice, we didn't have desserts. We got chatting to the waiter who was very interested in the fact we'd just moved to the area, and where we both worked. He was lovely. I really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.

Absolutely top notch takeaway. The best I've tried in St Leonard's and Hastings. Fresh tasting and delivered speedily, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Food is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful , maybe a little overpriced but don't let that put you off. Decor is a bit dated. Overall though it's still one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area.
