Double Dragon in Hastings

Salt and Pepper chips were okay although a bit dry. The chicken fried noodles however, no thank you, never again. The noodles tasted stale and old. I am not even certain if the chicken really was chicken as it was very flaky and rubbery almost like overcooked fish and tasted suspiciously seafood like. Not even 10 minutes after eating it and I felt nauseous. Double Dragon used to be top notch some years ago. I am very disappointed at what has happened to the quality of the food.

We ordered a takeaway meal at 12.45pm on Sunday. The food was delivered in less than 3/4 hour by a very nice guy. The food was in generous servings and very hot. Each dish was delicious and we shall definitely be ordering from the Double Dragon again, thank you DD

Pork dumplings with malt vinegar and half shallot - rubbish. Possibly the worse tofu I have ever had - bland & tasteless. Singapore rice tasted like it has been cooked yesterday. The chicken dish was no better. Always thought this establishment served better food. What a waste of £36.00 - never again.

I ordered a home delivery for a treat I had not had a Chinese for a while and was recommended to the double dragon. I have given one star based on the food turned up on time and it was hot, it was then all down hill, where do I start the barbecue spare rips were dry even when dipped in the sauce, the chicken in the noodles was dry and inedible, the roast duck was sparce and lacking bean sprouts. all in all it ended up in the bin so spending £30 for prawn crackers is rather expensive, it was as if the food had been cooked some time ago and just heated up certainly not freshly cooked, this experience has put me off Chinese food for a long time, very very disappointed. Maybe the food is better if you are eating on the premises and not having a takeaway!

Ordered a take away Christmas Eve, food was good but had issues with delivery.. called them a few days later and spoke to a lovely gentleman who acknowledged there was a problem keeping up with orders on that night and kindly offered a free meal next time we ordered.. excellent customer service. We have just ordered our free meal. That is how you keep your customers, well done to them.

ordered a take away at 6:50pm, arrived at 9pm, food was Luke warm, bland, chips were disgusting. curry sauce was super thick and like chips shop curry sauce, satay sauce tasted disgusting and smelt vile, special fried rice was bland as anything with hardly anything mixed in with the rice. noodles were like rubber, only good part i’d say was the prawn crackers. complete waste of money and waste of time waiting over 2 hours for a complete fail of a chinese. wont be using them again.

The daughter looked cute, the foood was amazing , the family especially we’re all so kind hearted. Everyone their was so polite

It came on time but one of the dishes was so bland that I was just eating boiled rice and the other one was so salty that it was inedible I had to bin them and cook my own food First and last time I am ordering food from here…

Great food, but now delivery only - no longer able to eat in sadly

We had food delivered yesterday. Delivery was good and meal was hot. Food was a disaster! The soups smelt bad, the rest of the food was bland and we had to add soya sauce from our pantry to be able to eat the food. We should have thrown everything in the bin but we were hungry. Never ever again!!!

We ordered our food online and they delivered from the double dragon. The food was well cooked and presented in a very nice cardboard box. (The cats loved the box) The noodles were tasty and slightly salty, the king prawns were nice but not battered in the sweet and sour. The Hong Kong style chicken was perfect and the various rice dishes are everything we wanted. Thank you

Ordered beef curry, steamed rice, chips and veg chow mein. Beef curry sauce ok ish, chips dried up looked like warmed up old chips. The chow mein looked and tasted like it was reheated and the complimentary prawn crackers we not fresh, very little crunch and chewy. Over all poor food and waste of money.

Ordered chicken curry and pork curry and pancake rolls and other things. They sent 2 chicken curries which were awful no pancake rolls but 4 mini spring rolls. Worst chinese we have ever had.

Really not a nice Chinese the flavours were awful I think they changed the chef tonight have had it before and was very nice but I won’t be ordering from here again

Just had delivered by Deliveroo, food was excellent, Flavours amazing, can’t fault it. Have used another restaurant for years but will definitely be changing now.

Absolutely abysmal! The food was at least 2 days old and nothing had any flavour whatsoever. The soup was boiled water with old chicken and super over cooked veg and noodles. The “stir fried” veg was completely over cooked, had NO flavour and was a slavered in a snotty sauce! It should be dry and crunchy! All the veg was the same brownish yellow colour. The Singapore noodles we’re clearly not fresh at all and again, no flavour! It’s like they ran out of flavour in the entire restaurant and just over cooked really old food from the previous week. When I tried to ring and sort it out, they said as I ordered with Deliveroo it was up to me to sort it. Me?? They made the disgusting food and it’s my fault?! Wow! What an absolutely terrible customer service experience and experience all round. So so very disappointed.

We've had 2 occasions to message this take away, due to the quality of food supplied, but never received a response. The last order we included capital spare ribs. Most of these were so dry they were almost impossible to eat. It's not something on the menu I would recommend

Well the crispy seaweed was one of the best I've ever had but I'm afraid it ends there. Not sure if it is because I'm a holiday maker but I apologise in advance if the locals think I'm wrong you need to broaden your horizons and try some nice food. We have eaten all over the country so have tried all regions and this was dire. Salt and pepper spare ribs deep fried dry and chewy prawn toast greasy crispy one ton extra crispy and greasy and the chicken curry was more like watery gravy over dry chicken and to top it all it was cold. Call Gordon Ramsey he may give you some advice on cooking.

Change name to Double Toilet Paper just Had for the first time and was honestly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Was on the toilet all night straight after. BBQ sauce on ribs was gross, special chow mein was dry and tasteless. Over-priced too.

Definitely was served the 'day before' food. Was horrible, hurt my teeth so much from the extra sugar they added to cover up the horrible flavour.

I’m being completely 100% this is my favourite takeaway in Hastings I don’t even live in the catchment area for delivery, I make my parents drive me there to pick it up. If I was sentenced to death Double Dragon would be my last meal. Everytime I get vegetable chow mien, prawn toast, mini spring rolls and deep fried wontons and the servings are huge (especially for 1 person) so it makes up dinner and breakfast. I would eat it everyday (but I’d be dead).

Food good but delivery is shocking

My curry was worst I've ever had, no curry flavour but sooooo salty. Had 1 mouthful and that was it. My OH ordered duck and no duck in the container. Worst £22 ever spent 😪

I ordered takeaway this evening absolutely rubbish my chicken chow main so dark and salty was not fresh at all spring rolls weren't nice either first a d last time I order from here went in bin I'll stick to my usual one from now on what a waste of money

Food was cold, tasteless and I have no idea what the crispy beef was made from. Deliver excellent however but wouldn't go near them again with a barge pole I'm afraid. I don't usually leave reviews but for near £45 I was left feeling robbed.

Fabulous gluten free Chinese takeaway. Would especially recommend the fish with ginger and spring onion. Seaweed and beansprouts also good.

Had a takeaway couple of weeks ago and food was lovely, freshly cooked. Got a takeaway tonight and was extremely disappointed and annoyed that I paid a lot of money for microwaved reheated food. Restaurants that microwave food should not be allowed to trade, its disgraceful! Will never go there again.

Best Chinese takeaway in Hastings, possibly the UK!

Just had a takeaway from here and it was really nasty! Made me feel sick in fact.... the food just wasn't tasty at all! We usually order from Peking garden london Road but because we had a £12 off ubereats voucher we had to order from here. Never will order from here again🤢

Sorry Double Dragon. Not your usual good standard this time, so quite disappointed. Food was ready very promptly so possibley had been reheated. Tofu was not as it should be and chicken fried rice consited pre diced into tiny cubes. Mostly rice and very little chicken cubes. Sauces were also disappointing. Free prawn crackers were chewy, not crunchy. Spring rolls were also on the chewy side. Such a shame because we could always rely on you before. 🤔😏

Super easy to order on the website which I was able to book a delivery slot for that evening. Food arrived on the dot and was really delicious. I will definitely be ordering again!

I gave this place another go, due to it still being the only place on Uber. Still not great. Disappointingly slow delivery time. Food was ok. Had far better. For the price you pay, there are better options in the town.

The double dragon is situated within the Churchill’s hotel and joins to a large bar area situated to the side. I’ve been going to this place for years. The restaurant is large and staff very accommodating and Friendly. A good choice of tables and it can accommodate large groups. It appears very busy and pre booking is always a good choice prior to dropping in. There’s a good choice of food on the menu which includes sole chefs choices. Food is tasty and always arrives fresh and piping hot. Takeaway can be done on their own app or via the phone. Impressive time keeping and food always arrives baking hot. A must go to place when thinking of a cheeky Chinese takeaway

Special chow mein.....1 prawn that may have felt it was Special to its mother....two or three pieces of bits of chicken...the couldn't get smaller.......loads of noodles.......in no way over 6 quids worth.....chicken fried rice......may have been prepared by a chicken who can cook ...but the miniscule diced bits of meat that looked like they had been added to a normal egg fried rice were pitiful..... the worst Chinese food ever wish tesco or aldi would deliver this evening miles better quality..........

The duck was absolutely inedible, They clearly have no quality control as the appearance alone would of shown you this was not acceptable to send out. I did my best to shred some meat off it, and was unable to extract enough meet to fill...

It was the only Chinese on ubereats. Food was ok. Crispy shredded beef was overcooked. Arrived lukewarm. Arrived 45mins later than it should have done.

Very disappointed with the takeaway. It was luke warm and no meat just duck skin and fat ,very greasy and we wont go back. It used to be very good but cutting back with meat portions has lost numerous customers that i know.

Staying locally we found The Double Dragon online and placed a very large order over the phone. Our food arrived hot and delicious in very good time and we even received a call back to let us know when the delivery was on the way....

We ordered a takeaway yesterday from double dragon because not many places are open in lock down. Haven't been for over 15 years probably. But when it came, honestly all my family were like 'this is so good?!' Genuinely best Chinese take away I've ever had. All the meat tastes good quality, the beef in black bean and chilli is unreal.The chicken balls aren't your usual type but the ones they sell taste much healthier and actual piece of quality chicken than cheap rubbery stuff. To be honest our takeaway was an hour late but to be expected when everyone's trying to use the only Chinese open. We loved it so much we ordered again 2 weeks later. Can't believe the bad reviews below.

Had to phone them to let them know their chow mein tasted off. We'd just spent almost £30 for the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had and I'm not one for complaining. All the chicken was dry, poor rice and just simply poor quality for the money. Because we'd eaten most of it (we had to wait an hour) they wouldn't reimburse the money or offer anything. I wouldn't recommend it at all... Try another local one.

Usually order from here for collection, but paid for delivery. Expected it to take a while due to circs.ordered at 1840hrs, arrived at 2105hrs. Couldnt get through on phone to query or cancel. Food is stone cold, prawn toast inedible, wraps for crispy duck missing. Wont use again.

This place is ridiculous. Gave me a wait time of 1hr 10 minutes, fair enough as it's a busy night. But ended up coming over twenty minutes late and gets the order wrong. I think it's widely accepted that satay chicken is a peanut based sauce. I was given chicken in gravy with peppers and onions. Called the place and they say this is Malaysia style, well it doesn't say that on the menu! I've paid near on £40 for a takeaway and even the other food isn't that nice. Do yourself a favour guys, don't bother.

Visited DD for a surprise birthday for my mother, received terrible service from a rude woman. I planed this surprise visit and it made me look silly due to the service we received the bill came to nearly £300 and did not a thank you for your service. Will not be returning in the future.

We live in Bexhill - a good 30 minutes away, but we travel to DD for both our take-aways and for a sit down meal. The staff are always friendly, and the food is delicious. They do a fab salt and pepper tofu. When I first saw this on the menu I had my reservations, but it is super tasty - that sometimes I actually find myself craving this dish :) Ive never had a poor meal or poor service. Id recommend DD to anyone looking for a good quality and tasty meal. Added bonus - the food comes with NO MSG, unlike other places.

Had a delivery, Saturday night with my two boys, only to be very disappointed. The chicken felt like it been reheated or even microwaved and the vegetables soggy limp and old, even though we were hungry we left almost all of it, freshness and quality well below the basic of standards, I spoke to the manager and sent the food back. They did agree on the vegetables, however, said that this was "our normal standard" I am shocked that having seen the food I had sent back they could describe it as acceptable. I would have been ashamed of it myself if it had been my restaurant.

First review for anything. I have to let people know how poor this was. Firstly is expensive and delivery is extra no matter what the order - which is fine if the food is good. Alarm bells when the food arrived only 10 mins after ordering. Chips were clearly reheated and tasted stale (you will know what I mean). Ribs were grey and overcooked. Satay was salty and overcooked. Sweet and sour pork was arguably the worst, gloopy, battered meat, cold. As we ate we knew we had made a mistake and both felt queezy. I didn't want refund, just acknowledgement of how awful it was. Was offered 20%bof next order which is comical as will never order from there again. Terrible, terrible. Am angry that you pay someone to cook for you, and what you get is reheated trash. Our usual was closed for new year. Do not order takeaway from here. They said we could have called before eating any and they could have replaced. WHY NOT COOK TO ORDER INSTEAD OF CUTTING CORNERS AND SENDING TRASH BECAUSE YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. POOR FOOD, POOR ATTITUDE, POOR PRICES. Genuinely spoiled our evening, avoid, avoid. Am I able to give -5 out of 5? Because 0 suggests it was a neutral experience, I repeat, this is my first review for anything.

The food tasted horrible. We ordered spicy Szechuan beef which was so sweet it tasted like dessert.

Ordered takeaway for new years eve night 2019, 45 mins and no show. So we tried to call them to ask when it will be and the phone was disconnected, so then we tried calling the hotel and also, disconnected. I understand it will be a busy night but at least have the decency to let customers know what is going on, this is a complete lack of regard to your customers and as a result i will never be using your services again.

The food was delicious as always but unfortunately the wait staff seemed to not notice us tonight. The restaurant wasn't busy, only 3 tables occupied but would take around half hour after each course to get served. Must've been an off night, usually much better.

The Double Dragon has a fantastic décor. The service, quality of food and ambience are great. There is also a bar separate to the restaurant where the men can escape the family for a sneaky beer :)

Just had a chicken curry delivered and it was totally tasteless. It was white and not the usual curry colour, I think they forgot to add the curry flavourings as it was so bland. There was plenty of chicken just lacking in flavour.

Haven’t been here for a while but so glad we decided to re visit. Food was as good as always and the service was brilliant. All the staff were warm and friendly. My only complaint is why don’t they open a Double Dragon in Bexhill?

Yummy sweet and sour soup and the veggie sweet and sour soup was packed full of yummy veggies, very tasty. Super kitsch interior with a bar/pub just next door. Will try again next we're in the area.

Excellent takeaway from here last week thinking of trying the Sunday buffet

Food was good but spoilt as it felt we were being rushed.

I had wanted to check this place out for a while and I am very glad I did. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly. Dishes were very tasty particularly the sizzling beef. Compared with the dishes at many of the local takeaways this was a cut above, also reasonably priced. The decor inside is very fancy and was a nice touch. Would recommend.

me and my friend visited at 8.30 on a Saturday night not very busy. Not a friendly arrival we ordered the sharer starter was nice however the main was horrible every single dish we didn’t like. Rice was plain, chicken was string like and hard, noodles were oily. We explained this to the waitor man who was really rude the whole time, he walked off to serve other people then come back saying he can give one dish free? When we didn’t like all of it we explained this and they gave us half price the whole thing was over priced anyway.
