Most reliably good take away IMO based on 10 years of living here

Used to be good ,food not to good standard.

When the food is good it's great, when it's not it's just good but it is always nice. My biggest issue is that it costs more to order online and they have no card machine and they charge extra for bank transfer payment.

The food was delicious and the staff was lovely

Wasn’t the best , the special fried rice was soggy and tasteless, salt and pepper chips are probably the worst I’ve ever had

Best Chinese takeaway in the area! Never had any problems with my orders. Worth every penny! Food very tasty and freshly made! Wide selection of dishes. Orders always made fast and ready to collect in 15minutes! Will recommend to everyone! On the picture my favorite mix- deep fried shredded beef in chili sauce and singapore vermicelli! Always yummy!

Twice now, 3 months apart they have let us down. Ordered at 6;30, at 7;30 no sign. We are 2 miles away. Called , they said on its way - 10 minutes. 20 minutes later no food. Called again and cancelled the order. 8;00 it came and we sent them away.

Best Chinese we've had in ages! Really fast delivery and all the food was absolutely delicious! Won't go anywhere else for a Chinese takeaway from now on. Thanks for a great meal

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This has always been our favourite chinese, after not ordering for months we ordered last weekend, waited 2 hours and what we got was diabolical. My partner got some bad chicken, we rung them and told them it didn't taste right. 3am in the morning he was up in the night been sick, we rung them again the next day to tell them he wasn't well and the customer service was terrible. So annoying because we've always loved chans. Now to find a new Chinese!

This Chinese had turned to worse than garbage. Totally off food that made me violently sick at 3am. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.. Bad bad bad bad..... 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢

Great takeaway! Just had one of the best Cantonese sweet and sours I've ever had.

Awful! ordered at 5:45, told 30-45 minutes. Rang back at 6:50 to be told driver on way, turned up at 7:55 over two hours later. Never seen Chinese food like it, chicken curry was mushy as if it had been reheated, same for chips very soggy, salt and pepper chips didn’t even have any peppers in? rang back and complained - waste of time wasn’t interested and waste of £40. Never again, didn’t realise it had changed hands, used to be lovely

Got wrong order. Wasn't willing to correct it even after offering to pay the difference. Very rude. Even after ordering from here often enough.

Very disappointed. We waited over 90 minutes for order to be delivered. Ordered wonderful dragon, 2 of the main ingredients were missing, duck and prawns. Ordered a portion of OK sauce instead we got some kind of lemon sauce. Lemon sauce isn't even on the menu so how the hell did this happen. Definitely will NOT be going there again.

We have only used Chans as a Chinese take away for well over 10yrs but we haven’t had one for a while, Had one tonight and I have a couple of hairs in it and a dead fly ! Customer service was appalling when a rang back , they were apprehensive about giving a refund even though I gave the food back. Lost a very faithful customer tonight, After doing a bit of digging I’ve found out it has changed hands and a lot of people are getting bad foot with some having food poisoning! Avoid!

Anybody know what has happened to chans chinese... Just ordered food from there.... I use the term. Food. Loosely.. Lacking ingredients.. Such as meat and Very bland.. Chips I think they were from 2 days ago not good.. So won't be going back for anymore...

Tonight I received the best take away I have had in a long while from Chans. I made an order on the phone for delivery, staff member was very polite, the delivery was quick and the driver was lovely, the food was spot on and came piping hot, the sweet and sour sauce was still bubbling when it arrived! Prawn crackers and spring rolls were given as freebies and were lush. Really well priced as well. I’m so sick of spending money on food that’s just been thrown together with no care or effort but honestly I really recommend this place and will be ordering again!

Have always loved the food from Chans until recently as the managment has changed and the food is now very poor . Have made a polite complaint and asked for a return call but had no reply. Will not be wasting our money again.

I had Mushroom chow main with chips n hubby had curry with egg fried Rice which he loved it, Bk in September I bought a money plant from them £19 which looks very life less phone number 01924 Being going here 4 over 10 years now & just luv all chowmain but mostly Mushroom ❤

I orded a happy family for me and my wife and boy I wish I had not there was a cooked slug in my meal and when I got back to them to tell tell them I gotva little arrogant Chinese man bang on my door and refuse to give me the money back I had spent he just said no and drove away stay clear of this place at all cost I will never eat Chinese food again he was also very abusive and aggressive can you answer this then did someone order a family to staincliffe Road and ring back to tell you we found a slug in it and wanted the money back also did you not revisit my property and refuse to give the money back or take the food away answer them honestly and see who is lying you nasty horrible little ba####d

Orderered a meal last Saturday duck in orange sauce chips discusting more like pork chips was warmed up delivered it into 20 mins had to throw it away never order from them again

Had a set meal for 2 , soup average best bit spare ribs . Main courses beef & mushroom only tasted or garlic and. Sweet & sour chicken was bland sauce with soggy chicken . Had a lot better

Under the current circumstances (covid-19 pandemic) I loved the food from here!!! Salt and pepper chicken is a must, the wings were a little over done, but still tasted great, thank you for your excellent service 👍 Will defo order again

I only ever order from Chans, I live in Heckmondwike. Always quick to deliver and accommodate my requests. Over the last few months I’ve noticed the food is even better, couldn’t fault anything. Thank you for the quality and good service provided. Chinese food is my favourite so glad we have Chans in Heckmondwike!

I went in to order my food and waited around 10 minutes at the desk waiting to be served. And had to call out in order to be noticed. Once i got served it didnt take too long for the food to come which is why it's 2 stars and not one. When I got home the food was mostly soggy and very bland. The salt & pepper dishes I ate were just poor. There were no other veg in other than onions and chillies and despite the chillies they weren't spicy at all. They were also not salty nor did it taste like it had pepper on it. The chicken was less soggy however just as bland if not more. I also ordered a singapore fried rice and got an omellete on my fried rice where i expected it to be fried in with the rice. And the rice also tasted overcooked and tho they had not fried it whatsoever. I have previous experience in working in chinese takeaways and this is just appauling and brings shame upon chinese culture. They expect customers to pay £7 for delivery even tho I live less than a mile away. Honestly, I usually order from Taste Of China and thought i would give this place a go but boy that was a mistake. Wouldnt have even payed £5 for my meal nevermind £12. Just go to Taste Of China.

what a awful place do not order we order food to night the meat was off and when phoned them and told them about the meat been off and the owner put the phone down on us the smell was bad

Delivery charges are extortion,and they charge a service charge ,£7.50 delivery even if you are across the road

u can tell the food isn't fresh the salt and pepper squid was soggy and I honnesly belive the spring rolls are just bought from iceland. overall verry poor food and £7.00 delivery verry expensive for a slap up frozen meal you can cook yourself at home for much cheaper

Good food and delivered early but wouldn’t say it’s typical traditional chinese, chicken was a bit crunchy but still a good meal.

Ordered prawn toast, 2 portions of chips, a mushroom curry and sweet and sour chicken balls. The balls were nice as was the prawn toast. Chips were soggy and the curry was like water. Have ordered in the past and never been disappointed, curry is usually perfect. Not this time though.

Fabulous food. I would recommend the Pad Thai or the salt and pepper squid. Huge portions enough for two to share. Lovely chips too. Not keen on the sweet and sour sauce, but thats just my own taste.

Bland and everything tasted the same that is not a Chinese

Just had takeaway tonight from Chan's. The food was delicious and tasty I couldn't fault it the staff on the phone was polite and the delivery driver was very friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

Ordered food, was meant to be delivered at 6:30pm. Rang at 7:20pm, said they hadn’t received the order to then change their minds 2 minutes later and say they found it somehow then had the cheek to ask if we still wanted it? Took another 45 minutes to arrive after they said it would. 2 hours waiting for food that was over cooked and dry. Don’t recommend the salt and pepper chicken, was like trying to chew plastic.

I had Singapore Vermicelli which was rather bland compared to my usual takeaway, my husband’s dish was a bit tasteless too.

Food was 20 minutes early, as for the taste and quality the £24 order I just bought has gone In the bin. The curry was tasteless and the salt and pepper chips were just soggy plain chips. Chinese is my favourite food and thus has just ruined it. The only thing that was edible on my order was the OK sauce

ordered online and delivery time was 8pm, arrived just after 7.30pm awesome speed. great food and tasty as well as good sized portions. all got eaten and would recommend you give it a try. new favourite Chinese and will defo use again soon.

Really fast delivery. Food was so so, it is probably just me and how I like my meat but I got the beef fillet and found it really chewy and fatty so woundnt order that again. Everything else was nice

my noodles where alright and so were my fries but my pancake rolls (spring rolls) had nothing in It but bland bean sprouts in i was quite dissapointed as this is what i normally love at my normal takeaway

The CFR was lovely so was the soft noodles oh and the sweet and sour chicken was beaut but the chips where old chips and the gravy was a little like water. Food was early and piping hot 👍

Ordered from here before and it was fair. Tonights meal was delivered early which was fab! The special Sweet & Sour we ordered was in ‘fried ball’ style which we didn’t expect and would have preferred a hong kong sauce style. The char sui fried rice tasted bice but not the best we’ve had. Sweetcorn & Chicken soul great as ever. Suprised that a spend of £20+ doesn’t warrant free prawn crackers/fortune cookie, slight disappointment however we will order again. Very friendly delivery service and appreciated a quieter knock as our baby was asleep!
