The Peking Chinese Takeaway in Thanet

Superb Chinese, been using them since the 80s, never had a bad meal yet. Tastes great, good portion sizes and order always correct. Cannot recommend enough 5*

Been eating here for years, about 45 to be true and apart from nothing, the whole family loves it, oh and it's my birthday and I'll cry if I want too, you would cry too, if you ordered pork balls and got vindaloo. But never at The Peking. Pure love please please please never stop♥️ sorry the allergic to mushrooms and large stewed mushrooms, they aren't for the same people, thank you see you soon♥️

Been eating here for years. Never had any issues. Try beef chowmain 👍🏼👍🏼 collection is the best option as they have limited drivers.

Have used the Peking for 6 years , not once had an issue with delivers or quality of the food. Always friendly and polite in the shop or on the phone

decent food but its never open tried twice to order food but no phone answered absolutely useless it was our anniversary we ended up with a kebab

Did not eat in, ordered a large take out with the family. We don't live in Margate so was a special treat. We ordered a selection of different dishes but mainly chicken based dishes which I'm sad to say were mostly off. I had one piece which tasted a bit odd, then a second which was okay followed by what I can only describe as mouldy chicken. It tasted and smelt soooo bad. Even the chicken in a different dish as soon as I bit into it I had the same smell/taste in my mouth and almost vomited up what little food I had eaten. Unfortunately this then put the entire family off of eating any of the other food we had ordered. We called the restaurant back and tried to explain the the chicken was off/mouldy and was met with comments such as it's the sauce, it's the type of dish it is, it's our sense of smell, it doesn't smell off etc etc .. they did offer to remake all the dishes again but unfortunately most of the party had at this point began to feel sick and so politely declined and requested a full refund which they seemed reluctant to provide. We returned ALL of the barely touched chicken dishes and then they wanted proof that we hadn't eaten any of our other food (we took a photo of everything left over) so we returned all of that in carrier bags too. They then reluctantly gave us a full refund. Hopefully this was just a one off but I and the others all know what out of date chicken smells like and frankly didn't appreciate the comments in response to our complaint and the quality of the food. If I could give zero stars I would.

𝗚𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗡!!! We placed a large order for friends and family visiting. Got it home served it all up on plates and the first bite into the sweet and sour chicken... Every one spat it out and commented that it tasted/smelt rotten and gone off. We returned the order to be told that the food was fine, so we made them smell the chicken. The reaction through a wincing face was "everyone has different taste" and all our chicken is cooked fresh in the morning. It was now roughly 8:30pm. They reluctantly gave us a refund after arguing the toss. One of the kids has already been sick and the rest of us have upset stomachs. First and last time I will be ordering from here.

First time for me The food was amazing delicious the staff was friendly I asked for extra sauce and I got it thank you peking duck definitely coming back

Perhaps the one and only time I tried them, they were having a bad night Ordered a special fried rice and received a large almost black greasy globule, just threw it in the bin as didn't want to risk eating it.

Chicken curry had five pieces that were gristle. Prawn balls overcooked and tempura batter hard. Pancake roll was massive and great

Set meal for one chicken and beanshoots in a runny red sauce not much chicken . Fried rice ok but strangely darker than usual ! And pork balls were not peices of pork but filled with mince ! . Ok but not the treat i been waiting for for sometime 😟

My fav local Chinese. Been eating from those guys for 2years now. We never go anywhere else these days.

Used the Peking for years now, all my life really I have stuck with them even few couple bad experiences ... but tonight Im very disappointed ive never ever had such awful fried rice !! it normally my fave but was stodgy tasteless and had overly soft texture :-(

Bang on the chicken balls and good customer service

Eaten here three times now as it is local i got told it was very nice but not had one nice meal yet hence I've given it three tries shame really they need to take more time to cook and prepair food but will try it one more time.

Recieved a, best described as a rancid take away, after years of good service. Never been back since. hay ho.

Friendly staff delivery driver was very nice,but the food wasn't very nice, I sent the food back and got a full refund straight away .

Called to make an order. One & half hours for delivery, one hour for collection? Decided to go there, made my order and 20 minutes later I had my order. Whilst I was there (and on the phone) the customer service was none existent and the food... not worth it!

Don’t know why they have been getting bad reviews as I have never had a bad Chinese from them. We would only ever go to the Peking as all the others I’ve ever tried in Thanet have been rubbish. It must be a rival that has written bad reviews as we think they are very good. You can check my profile to see I am genuine person.

well where do I start the egg fried rice was dark brown and was burnt and tasted of old dirty oil the chicken chow mein was the same burnt chips were full of grease and not edible and floppy . chicken balls were ok but sweet and sour sauce was vile pancake rolls were okish will never eat from their again ever

Its a great takeaway, the only one in Marget that is not greasy or overpriced. Chinese ladies in a kitchen make great food, and the place is always super busy on weekends. Top Tip: if you can pick it up yourself waiting time is much shorter. Jump in a car and go straight to them instead of waiting. You will get your dinner sorted in less than 20min.

Food is normally lovely but last time I ordered my chowmein taste really peppery it was burning my mouth out think they changed the chef that night ruined my good completely all the other times foods been great

We’ve been going to the Peking for about 35 years (yes really!) and it’s always been excellent, not cheap but portions are a good size, food is always fresh and hot. Staff always friendly. Wouldn’t get a Chinese takeaway anywhere else tbh.

Best Chinese around. Delivery can be long during peak times but well worth the wait!

Great value; not posh but good portion sizes, and despite external appearances, good quality. A friend and I were pleasantly surprised at how good the nosh is here.

Guy on the phone is always rude but food is very nice. Sounds like a manic depressive obnoxious tool. Although once ordered a dish with like two small bits of meat. They sent another dish though. The chef is good. 😉

This food was not good.. It was old food reheated burnt rice and grey dough in prawn balls.. Only good thing.. my money was returned.

Generally pretty good. No extra charge for card payment either.
