Oriental Chef Chinese Takeaway in Thanet

Very tasty and lovely and hot even with coming from Ramsgate. Ordered from a few Margate, Westgate ones that aren’t as hot. Would definitely use again!

Luke warm, poor quality, expensive. Wont use them again

Food was all over the bag everything covered in sauce chips were soggy and inedible worst meal ever ordered

Unfortunately chicken balls were cold, hard and chewy. Ordered two Pepsis, given Coca Cola.

Amazing! They really put in all the best effort to make this dish. Flavour, perfectly cooked, well hot, very quick, friendly and pleasant delivery. Defo one of the best Chinese food deliveries out there in Thanet.

This is one of my favourite Chinese cuisine restaurant in my area. Food always tastes nice and staff seem well mannered

the egg fried rice and dumplings had a fishy taste to them, as if they were cooked in a pan that had been used to cook fish without it being washed first. not exactly great.

Overly salty BBQ spare ribs. couldn't eat on the day, but managed to calm the excess sodium down by adding maple syrup whilst reheating. House mixed meat & rice was excellent.

Was very disappointed to see the size of th soup. It was just so small but after the first bite it was fine with the size. There was just no taste to the soup. Chicken was dry. How is that even possible? Sesame prawn toast was tasteless. The duck was oke.

Unfortunately the food wasn't warm enough. no prawn crackers with our order considering I spent over £40, a staple my kids love. The satay sauce was water down. Not the nicest chinese unfortunately. The delivery driver was very polite.

Most of the food was lovely but the sweet and sour chicken balls were hard, stringy and inedible. Also a shame that unlike other restaurants, there were no free prawn crackers for an order over £30.

The food was cooked to a very poor standard. The chicken in the rice dish, noodles and chicken balls were barely edible. The prawn toast was delivered in a container with salad which made all of it soggy and unpleasant again over cooked to be barely edible. To top it all off there was chilli in my chow mein to which I am highly sensitive to spice and ingesting spice can make me very unwell. Called the restaurant to be told all they can do is give a discount for next order. Will never happen!

Food is always first class and often early delivery.

Food was hot and tasty, but expensive

AVOID AT ALL COST !!! Ordered from these tonight and part of our order was missing. Thought no worries just been forgotten we’ll call them up.. well that’s where it all went wrong.. rude lady on phone telling us she definitely put it in. Told her sorry but it’s just not there to be told again it’s definitely there. I said sadly it’s definitely not there this went on twice to at which point I said look we have paid over £50 for food your more than welcome to come have a look if it was definitely in there because it’s not then to be told your just going to hide it and told to not touch any of it till the driver gets back Utterly disgusting service. We was recommended this place by family as we have driven 350 miles for a break away to what we thought we’d have a cheeky takeaway ruined by this awful takeaway!

The soup was a bit watery, there was no hoisin sauce for the duck and the main dishes were not of great quality

I will never order again from this place. Every dish is over salted and becomes inedible. Very disappointing and 5 minutes walking distance away and still being charged for delivery is unacceptable. Very disappointing cannot ever recommend this place.

Thai curry wasn’t the greatest

JUST EAT ORDERERS BEWARE! When ordering from Just Eat. We placed an order with these guys as they had the shortest wait time. As soon as we actually placed the order, the time suddenly shot up. After an hour and a half, we phoned the restaurant. They told us it would be another 25-30 minutes. We then asked them to cancel the order after effectively deceiving us with wait times and we’d get our money back. Cut a long story short, this restaurant never cancelled the order and had the cheek after all this to mark the order as delivered. We’re now in a dispute. An absolute con of a restaurant - avoid.

Terrible. Advertised delivery time of 35-50 minutes, we were still waiting 1hr and 20 mins later, and when we called to chase he said it would be another 25 mins. Asked him to cancel the order, but it has been marked as delivered! Making it difficult to get a refund. He also argued with me about his advertised delivery time, but I have a screen shot! Will never use again.

This was an over expensive, lately delivered awful meal - one of the worst Chinese meals I've eaten. will never order from hear again.

Mains- Very poor processed food deep fried and shipped out. Suspect it is 95% processed. How can a Chinese take out be this bad? Most on the bin. Photo showing chicken ball batter, ridiculous. How are these even operating.

Ordered at 18:45. App stated 25-35 mins delivery. Updated delivery due 19:20 - 19:40, then another message to say 19.45 - 20.05. Actual arrival 20:07. So, originally expected at about 19.15 when ordered & paid. Therefore 45 mins late. Not good.

Crispy beef was soft and chewy. Not very hot.

Late but worth the wait it was lovely

Food was awful. Everything tasted the same. Crispy beef in spicy sauce had no spice and was like chewy chicken. Sauce tasted exactly the same as my daughter’s sweet and sour chicken ball dip. Son had smoked pulled chicken. It was big pieces of floury coated chicken before it gets dipped in a sauce type thing. Not smoked at all. Husbands black bean sauce was ok. £51 for my birthday and was dreadful.

When food arrived it was like warm at best it tastes nice just not hot at all even though the restaurant is a couple minutes away and also no prawn crackers you have to order them separately?

I’m not one to leave reviews. Order from this Chinese on Saturday evening. Been in Thanet 6 months and this is by far the best we’ve had. Great food and decent prices. Came hot. Delivery guy was nice. 10/10

Was staying in town and remembered Oriental Chef from years ago and it being nice so ordered. Honestly worst vegerable curry iv ever had. Watery and no flavour. Orderdd a mushroom chow mein which was full of grease lacked flavour and prawn balls had black in them and full of grease. Really horrible. Woke up with a bad belly from the small amount i ate. Never order again from here again. Save your money and go else where.

original order was misdelivered or stolen, but i enquired in a friendly manner with the restuarant and they very kindly remade and redelivered our food, which was absolutely worth the wait. delicious meals, fresh ingredients, great flavours - not too salty or greasy, really really nice and the guys at the restuarant were really kind and lovely about everything. thank you so much, we will definitely be re-ordering! happy new year

DO NOT ORDER!!!!!! Food was awful, cold and disgusting. All thrown in the bin after one bite because it wasn't even edible. Missing items. Drove there and staff were rude, looked dirty and had no idea how to speak to another person with any manners. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone!!

The only issue was prawn crackers are stale disgusting and to have to buy them when other restaurants give free very disappointing
