Why for the love of god do you not allow people to order rice or noodles separate when ordering takeaway?! Itâs so simple but you refuse it as an option. If Iâm ordering for 5-6 people then 5-6 portions of rice is way too much! I love the food but itâs so annoying that itâs ârequiredâ or how I term it, âmandatoryâ to order a side dish when ordering online. Please explain the sense to me because itâs completely bonkers and no other takeaway demands you order rice with a main meal! I wouldnât mind but the main come soaked on top on the rice it was ordered withâŠso you canât separate it for those who donât want the spicy dish. For the love of god sort it out you idiots!

Great place to go if you're stuck for somewhere to go for a meal...not a great deal of choice on the buffet side of things but the food is always good and the service and staff make up for the smaller buffet choice easily...thanks again to the staff they are really good!!

Still trying to figure out how 2 mains ÂŁ12.95 and 10.95. 2 rice orders . 2 soft drinks, prawn crackers (we didn't ask for) 1/4 duck appetizer, two desserts and two coffees totaled over ÂŁ90? To pricey for what you get. ÂŁ90+ for 2? Btw the stir fry beef with garlic and chili sauce was way too spicy in spots. The coffee we ordered with desert came way after we finished desert and my cappuccino was like water.

You have to ring and book. We went on a Saturday and it was busy. But I must say everyone was extremely efficient. Also very pleasant and polite. We went to the griffin opposite for drinks. Recommend choosing tiger beer here also. My hubby got calling and it wasnât great but tiger beer was good. Will definitely be returning. Every time we drive past the car park is full.

Without any doubt, this was the worst Chinese food we have ever tasted. Strange texture for the beef and chicken, lord knows what it was. Left full plates of food which the waitress took away but no one approached us to see what was wrong. Never again.

**Lotus Garden Chinese Takeaway Review (Penrith, Cumbria)** Nestled in the heart of Penrith at 6 Crown Square, **Lotus Garden Chinese Takeaway** has carved a reputation as a local gem for authentic and affordable Cantonese cuisine. With a focus on takeaway and delivery, this eatery combines flavorful dishes, generous portions, and warm hospitality, making it a standout choice for both residents and visitors. **Culinary Highlights** The menu at Lotus Garden caters to diverse tastes, offering a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Diners rave about signature dishes like **salt and pepper squid**, praised for its crispy texture and bold seasoning, and the **Thai red chicken curry**, which balances spice and richness perfectly. Other crowd-pleasers include Singapore Chow Mein, spare ribs, and crispy duck, all prepared with fresh ingredients and customizable spice levels. Portions are notably generous, ensuring value for moneyâa family meal with a starter and six mains costs around ÂŁ50, a steal compared to pricier alternatives. **Service and Atmosphere** The staffâs friendliness and efficiency shine through in reviews. Customers highlight the ownerâs welcoming demeanor, with one reviewer noting how the owner chatted amiably during pickup. The ordering process is streamlined, with options to call ahead or order on-site, reducing wait times during peak hours. Though the exterior appears modest, the interior charms visitors with lush plants and ample seating, creating a cozy vibe while waiting. **Practical Considerations** - **Hours**: Open evenings from 4:30 PM (closing at 11:15 PM most days, extending to 11:45 PM on weekends). Closed Tuesdays. - **Payment**: Accepts card payments, a convenience not always found in smaller takeaways. - **Parking**: Limited on-site parking, but public car parks are nearby. **Minor Drawbacks** A few reviewers mentioned occasional delays during busy periods and packaging choices (e.g., spare ribs in cardboard cartons). However, these are minor compared to the overall positive experience. **Final Verdict** Lotus Garden excels in delivering authentic flavors, affordability, and heartfelt service. Whether craving spicy Sichuan-inspired dishes or classic Cantonese comfort food, this takeaway is a must-visit in Penrith. Perfect for a quick meal or a family feast, itâs no wonder locals and tourists alike rate it among the **best Chinese takeaways in the UK**. *Rating: 4.5/5* *Ideal for*: Quick takeout, family dinners, and spice enthusiasts. *Tip*: Order ahead by phone to skip the wait!
