Food okay I've had better. The main problem is that it's over priced very much so. I give a 😑. Won't be going out my way to return.

This place has been here for quite a long time and for good reason. Incredibly consistent, food is great. Staff have always been really nice. We’ve ordered takeouts, delivery, dined in, always been good. Probably the best Chinese in Garstang and handy for anyone on the M6 passing by who fancied a Chinese.

Ordered for collection and the food was amazing perfectly cooked and was ready in speedy time I’ve recently moved to the area and im so happy i have a chinese thats decent close by

I have been here time and time again over the last three years. Nine times out of ten the food is great (hence why I keep coming back). Prices have gone up a fair bit over those three years which I don’t mind because it ensures the quality is being maintained.

Excellent haven't been for 15 years, now I realise why so highly rated on TripAdvisor , food brilliant well done.

We regularly order from the great season, and it comes through every time. They have a great variety of food, and quite a few vegetarian options which is always great! The staff are also always so lovely.

We had a takeaway meal but after collection found the price had increased by £2.30 which was due to our menu being out of date! It was their menu on the same week so obviously their prices change frequently

Just been for a meal , every starter and main that we had was so good!, served very quickly, tasted delicious, staff lovely, will definitely go again..

I was very disappointed I had the Dim sum meal ,for 2, it was DRY COLD n Tasteless,cost me 14pound,I rang up to complain and got the phone put down on me, not impressed at all,

I recently went to order some of the vegitarian dishes and was shocked to find out that the vegitarian dishes are fried in the same oil as the meat dishes . I think a disclaimer should be printed on the menu atleast to warn people of this . Surly, this is cross contamination.

Sorry guys but, in my opinion, this is only a 3 star Chinese. We got our usual Saturday night takeaway June 2023. Unfortunately our normal place was closed due to a recent fire. We travelled 20 mins each way to collect this. Reasons for 3 stars - > Expensive compared to other places. > Spent over £50 and no free prawn crackers. Probably the only place I've ever been that don't give free prawn crackers with bigger orders. > Portions were small, especially considering this cost £10 more than our usual place for the same order. Plastic containers were not even full. > Chips tasted re-heated, definitely not fresh. The other food was nice (apart from chips) and the order was ready for the time I requested. Staff also seemed friendly. It's ashame as these are things that could be easily sorted then it's more like a 5-star review.

Never had a bad meal here, we've visited about half a dozen times and it's always been great quality and great service, we'll be back whenever we're local....

We got a delivery to bridge house marina last night . I've got to say this place is on another level it was absolutely stunning fresh as you like excellent size portions and the delivery driver was really polite we will definatley be reordering from here if I could I'd give this place a 10

Whilst the restaurant was a little tired and cold, the food was ok. My issue is that after the meal I politely mentioned that the table cloth wasn't clean when I arrived on my table I was told 'dont worry sir it was a clean one but you were the 2nd sitting. That was the grease from the first sitting'! For an owner/ worker to use that as an acceptable explanation without a flicker of remorse concerns me. FYI I would not serve food in my house to guests on a table cloth with grease stains on it. If you find this acceptable I think the restaurant will struggle. Despite this I left a tip as I couldn't be bothered arguing I was with my family and didn't want to sulley the evening for them.

Wow. ,this little gem was great ,on arrival we were taken to our table ,we ordered drinks ,they came very quickly.we had the buffet for 2 ,omg it was fabulous,nice and hot freshly made to order ,the staff are so very nice also this meal cost over £60 well worth it as it was our valentines as the hubby was working .

Ok, so stayed local and after reading reviews for this place decided to order a take away for the 3 of us. The delivery was spot on and bang in time so good start. We ordered a beef curry, Yung chow fried rice, xtra egg fried rice, a portion of salt n pepper chicken wings, portion of salt n pepper chips and a portion of normal chips as well as some curry sauce. All in all this was £36 which was fine from a Restaurant. It was certainly not Restaurant quality. A breakdown is below. The egg fried rice was ok nothing special but it’s egg fried rice. The salt n pepper chicken wings were ridiculously loaded in salt. So much so that we could only manage a couple of them and we do normally love these. The Yung chow fried rice was poor. Considering what should have been a fair mix of pork, chicken and a decent amount of prawns was let down by just ONE prawn in the dish. One prawn is not good enough. The beef curry was very very sweet and tasted like it had been cooked in loads of sugar. The beef itself was nice but the sauce was poor. The chips were definitely frozen chips with zero taste and that included the salt n pepper ones. Sadly won’t try again. This is an honest review

Great Chinese restaurant, surprisingly quiet, as the food is great and staff are alway polite

Unfortunately having had a very large number of delivered take always at considerable cost, we ordered this evening and were quoted a seriously inflated delivery cost which I phoned back to query. I was informed that the delivery was set by computer we are less than 3 miles from the base, suddenly the price was decreased by £2 in the back ground I heard another person telling them to tell us to ‘F’ off, I raised the point and said we would be visiting the restaurant to discuss this further but still wanted our food. 1 1/2 hours later the food had not arrived! Hence this very negative review So very disappointing as we have had excellent food and service on st least 8 other occasions! I leave you to draw your own conclusions but we are very, very dissatisfied with our last experience.

Great menu food was great and plentiful (needed to request a doggy bag). Found out they will even deliver and I live 9 miles away.

We were struggling to find a takeaway that would deliver to our location and found this one. It cost £55 for a meal for 4 people which was mostly inedible. The chicken had that awful gelatinous texture. We can only think that anyone who recommends this place and giving this food good reviews knows nothing about the food industry or has no palate. Shocking, wish we could give zero or minus stars.

Ordered food Said would be an hour Within half an hour told me my food was in another village and would be returned within 10 mins cold.... This is the third time Rubbish Food is good but no good being received cold when its costing you £36 there is no excuse for not knowing where I live when I've received 100s of deliveries Will Never ever order from them again Awful rude delivery lady and awful service

Wow. Amazing food. Staying in Garstang for the evening, we wanted to find a Chinese restaurant to eat in. Found this place: booked a table easily: parking spaces outside, a warm welcome, well lit and comfortable room. Attentive and pleasant service and great food: up there with the best. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it.

Lovely friendly welcoming staff food was delicious 😋, Drinks very expensive though but definitely will be back.

Just had possibly the worst Chinese meal ever. Very little meat in the dishes, and what there was was of very poor quality. Customer service also very poor. Avoid at all costs.

We recently moved to Catterall and enjoy a good Chinese takeaway, however I will never order from this place again. Not only was it more expensive than others in the area, the actual taste of the food I received was very very average. Because it was more expensive we thought we might be in for a treat, but sadly, it was quite the opposite. I ordered sweet and sour king prawns and when I received the order I was sent 4 or 5 prawns, a couple of bits of onion and pepper in a tiny amount of sauce. In fact it looked like a child's portion, for the princely sum of £8!!! I was shocked. The size of it was more a starter than a main and at an exorbitant price. Since it was the first order I gave them a call in order to try and sort it out, but got absolutely nowhere and nobody was interested in helping at all, in fact all I was told is that they count the prawns and as long as there were 6 (there were not 6!), all was OK, regardless of distinct lack of onion, pepper and sauce. Appalling behaviour that has resulted in taking my business elsewhere from that point on. Even the delivery person wasn't very polite. Maybe I caught everyone on a bad day, but manners maketh man(and woman) and there is no excuse for poor customer service.

We ordered our food at 5:30 gave them the correct address and postcode and said it will be 40 mins, ok thats fine, sitting around waiting for our food, we get a call from the driver, 'im at the flats' she said, baring in mind we dont live in a flat. We gave her clear instructions on where we were. 20 mins later still hasn't arrived . get another call. Im on Garham Road, (not where we live) give her MORE clear instructions, 10 mins later, knocks at the door, first thing she said was, 'do you know how much it was?' to say i was shocked was an understatement, no apology or anything, she took the money and ran so to speak. Food was good, service was rubbsih!

What a gem, travelled from the Tree Tops Cleveley Mere away for the weekend from Cheshire - wow ! Amazing service and food was really good, one of the best Chinese banquets we have had snd trust me we have had lots!!!! Thank you xxxxx

We had a great evening at this restaurant. The food was served efficiently by friendly and helpful staff. We intend to go again very soon.

I live locally and have frequented the Great Season on a number of occasions over the past six months. To be fair the quality of the food is fine and it is reasonably priced however the quality of service is truly terrible. Anytime you either eat in or order a takeaway you can add on 30-45mins from when you expect to get your food. No apology, no excuse and no honesty it’s just a poor show. I’ve run out of patience here and will eat somewhere else until I hear that they’ve sorted their servicing out. It’s just not worth my custom.

Not had a delivery from here... Ordered anfv arrived within half an hour. The food was amazing as always. Would highly recommend

We were staying at a local campsite and chose The Great Season from the reviews on here and the locality. So glad we picked it! The food was amazing. We had chow meins, mixed starters and salt and chilli chips. All were delicious. We would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

We had beef chow mein which I enjoyed, chips, egg fried rice and a carton of curry. All was very nice, I'd definitely go again.

Actually a takeaway order. I ordered here simply as they were offering delivery. I ordered the same thing as I would normally order from the normal place. It was ok however their Singapore fired rice was not to my taste and had some random ingredients that I wouldn't expect to see. I will stick to the usual place.

Excellent takeaway, wonderfully cheery on the phone when ordering, food is always ready and hot when they say it will be ready for collection. So far, every dish ordered has been brilliant. Their approach to social distancing with collecting and paying is simple and one of the best we have seen from a takeaway.

Absolutely Brilliant! Just moved to the area and left behind a brilliant Chinese (Jade Garden) in Poulton. We didn’t think we’d find anywhere that was even slightly as good, but The Great Season really did not disappoint. I’d even go so far as to say that the Szachuan is the best I’ve ever had. Portions may be slightly smaller than some takeaways, but they are generally quantity over quality. The Great Season really is quality!

We had banquet for 3 on Saturday to celebrate Chinese New Year. As ever Danny & Joanna didn't let us down a fantastic meal It was enjoyed by the 3of us. Would highly recommend The Great Season Restaurant.

Haven’t had a Chinese for a long time but we decided on Great Season in the A6. We had a fillet steak with satay sauce and a fillet steak with spring onion and ginger with chicken and sweet corn soup. Absolutely the best steak Chinese dishes with delicious tender slices of fillet. Yes it’s not an enormous portion but we found it filling enough. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Covid secure right enough. Absolutely no atmosphere, music, nothing like it used to be. Too busy with take -a- ways and ignored for too long in restaurant. Although pleased they were busy. Plastic dishes for food and no warmers to keep food hot. Food, however, good but no need to be as it is even during covid. Paper tablecloths, plastic bowls - yuk. Will have to wait to return. Very very disappointed.

I ordered a salt and pepper bean curd as a takeaway and after one bite I realised it wasn’t right. The “bean curd” was chicken!! I’ve been vegetarian for over 30 years and vegan for 5 and haven’t eaten meat in all that time. Trying to complain got me nowhere. I will never order from here again.

I went out with my friend. We had a lovely meal, food very tasty. The place was spotless and very Covid secure. Staff were very friendly. I will definitely be going again. I have been coming here for years and cannot recommend this great Chinese restaurant highly enough.

Had a great meal staff outstanding and it felt very covid safe.

I visited The Great Season with a friend. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially with the current Covid regulations which they explained very well and respectfully.The food was out of this world. The Chicken and sweetcorn soup was delightful and the wanton soup my partner has was even better. The dimsum combination of ribs, crispy won ton, prawn toast spring rolls and seaweed was a satisfying appetiser The main course was the real highlight. Roast duck with cashews and chicken with green pepper and black bean sauce was just perfect.I fully recommend a visit if you are near Garstang you will enjoy and want to come back for more.

We have just been for a meal at The Great Season and it was fantastic. They are completely set up for Covid 19 guidance and it makes you feel really safe. The service during our visit was absolutely impeccable. The food was delicious and incredibly good value for money. They made you feel very welcome and followed the Covid guidelines to the letter. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning with my family.

Lovley take away with the family

I've tried all the Chinese Takeaways in the area, this one is the best. I normally get set meals and the set meal for 2 here is bigger and better quality than any other in the area.

New to the area we are trying all the Chinese takeaways to find our new regular favourite. The Great Season (although not the cheapest) is by far the best for delicious and tasty food. However the portions (for the price paid) were skimpy to say the very least. When we opened the bag our comments were ‘You have to be joking !’ ‘Where’s the food ?’ We are genuinely not big eaters and always waste Chinese food and complain that the portions are too big. For the very first time ever we ate the lot but were left wanting more. Therefore sadly this will not be our new regular Chinese. When you treat yourself to a takeaway you at the very least want enough food.

Food was delicious, everything was freshly cooked and piping hot. We tried the mixed hors d'oevres and the mixed dim sum starters, everything was lovely. The main courses were all of a high standard and there was plenty without being too much. An extra special mention has to go to the banana fritters - the batter was so light and crisp without being greasy. Last but by no means least the staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We weren't rushed through our meal, a very relaxed atmosphere. All round well worth a visit. We will go back.

A group of out-of-Townes made to feel very welcome by the very friendly staff. Excellent range of food available on the menu. We opted for the mixed starter, very nice; aromatic crispy duck; excellent and a mixture of main meals. I choose deep fried steak in chilli sauce. I would happily recommend each one of these individually or all together for a treat. The attention provided by the staff was just right, not to intrusive but professional enough to know if we had finished a course or needed more drink. It was nice to see them take out time to spend with customers obviously local, catching up with all the local news and gossip.A very pleasant place with great food and welcoming staff that I would go out of my way to return again in the future if in the area

They were impressed with easy parking and friendly atmosphere. My brother commented on the extensive menu and sizzling plates on offer. Good access to restaurent too. We chose a mixture. Quarter duck with pancakes , spring rolls, and my favourite salt and pepper prawns. They were impressed so great start. Then sizzling plates arrived. Very exciting aromas and sounds! Duck in plum sauce fried rice soft noodles. Sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow men. We had lots and struggled to finish all Great night out and very reasonable priced considering all the dishes. My brother is coming up again in February and it will be another booking .

Ordered spare ribs(ok) prawn toast(ok) prawn curry and a special curry both which tasted so bland. £2.40 for a bag of prawn crackers! So ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

Called in when passing for a meal with friends. Welcoming, friendly staff. Lovely food with excellent choice. Tasted like a proper chinese should do. They staff were attentive but not overwhelming, which is what is wanted when you are eating. Great menu - try the crispy beef - couldnt be nicer. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Have visited this restaurant before when stayed at Bridge House Marina I had BBQ spare ribs and hubby had chicken and sweet corn soup Sadly the ribs were a little dry and crispy Hubby enjoyed his soupWe had chicken curry with fried rice and prawn crackers which was delicious And very fresh When visiting again I would have a different starter The staff are friendly and efficient We would definitely return

Fantastic meal this evening, devoured the banquet for two and enjoyed every mouthful. Great service with and ambience that is traditional to the Chinese restaurants we love and remember.

Great Food pleasant and welcoming staff

Visited for the second time following an great experience earlier in the year. The food,service and ambience were exactly as we remembered. Thank you to all the staff and management. Excellent food at sensible prices. Well worth our 10 mile journey which we will happily make more often.One of the best around

We had the banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it

We started with salt and pepper ribs and the skewered prawns with a garlic sauce, both piping hot and very tasty. Special chow mien and Szechuan chicken with fried rice were our choice of mains, again piping hot and great tasting. Service was spot on, professional but cheerful. The staff checked if everything was ok shortly after serving each course. We shared 3 pints of Singha beer, and the bill came to a reasonable but not cheap £50.

Booked and came here while staying nearby at Claylands Caravan Park. Unashamedly this was the best Chinese meal we have had for ages. Crab and sweet corn soup with real crab! Crispy duck was superb, chicken wings tasty and meaty, mains were excellent, the beef melted in your mouth and that wasn’t even the fillet steak! Friendly staff, fair range of drinks. Easy to park outside out of normal working hours. We will definitely be returning here st outperform soonest opportunity.

Staying down the road in a campsite, walked down and collected our order and walked home very hungry in anticipation. Big disappointment, soup was awful, they have used that as a base for the main dishes. ‘fillet steak’ more like frying steak at best. If it wasn’t for the walk we would be going back asking for a full refund. Better to avoid and walk to the other places in Garstang for your dinner.
