The best restaurants serving Chinese food in North East

Used this takeaway twice this month (January 2025). Food excellent. Prices reasonable. Fairly quick delivery. Would recommend.

The food was horrible it was dry and the chips were soooooooo dry never go here that is a warning the food took sooo long the staf were shouting at me in my face

Small Chinese take-away. Big menu, and big portions. Set meal for 3 lasted 2 days! Food cooked fresh as you wait. Don't be put off by the somewhat decrepit interior which does need bringing into the 21st Century, as the food was great. Perhaps a little more heat in the curry would have helped mind you. Girl on the front counter (and phone) was nice and friendly.

We were in Newcastle for three days and wanted to visit one of the Chinatown Restaurants . I did some research online and decided to visit The Landmark Restaurant. When we arrived to my surprise at 6.45 pm restaurant closed and in the dark . We looked in at the Amaysia restaurant and it looked busy with a complete mix of diners eating . We decided to go in and luckily we were able to get a table. We ordered a Sharing Platter and for main courses , Lemon Chicken and a Chicken Breast Curry. The food was excellent and the service great and all reasonably priced

Best in the area. Great portion sizes. Originally started to use the Welcome Inn when we found out the previous owners of the Evergreen at Fram were here, they have since retired but the food is still great. Recommended

Seemed a little hectic but I have used it 4 times now while visiting Redcar. I feel it is one of the best Chinese takeaways I have used, I only wish it was in West Yorkshire. Worth the wait great fresh food.

It’s a shame I can’t give a 0 rating as they would not answer the phone and has very bad customer service don’t go

Ordered tea here for the first time. Food was lovely and good size portions. However the young girl behind let my experience now as soon as I walk through door she wanted to know what I wanted before I was allowed to browse menu then she spent most of the time playing or talking on her phone ignoring customers

Hemos estado muchas veces y no puedo entender las malas críticas, nunca tenemos un problema que siempre recopilamos, pero a tiempo y ordenamos la calidad de la comida correcta. Ajustarán los ingredientes si preguntas cuál es genial para nosotros.

Hemos utilizado esto muchas veces en el pasado y nunca hemos tenido ningún problema, pero cuando llamé por teléfono esta noche a las 6 pm y pedí un poco más de £ 18 . Tuve que volver a llamar dos veces y preguntar si mi pedido estaba en camino... y ella explicó que habían empleado a un nuevo conductor y que se había perdido... y la segunda vez dijeron que lo volverían a hacer y lo enviarían directamente... así que cuando finalmente llegó justo antes de las 9 de la noche de hoy llamamos por tercera vez... para decir que era demasiado tarde para comer ahora... ya que mi esposa está discapacitada y también es diabética... y dijo que tenía una buena mente para pedir una comida gratis por esto y la mujer no se disculpó... se rió pensando que era una broma y dijo que le dirá a su jefe... no puedo creer que hubiera ni siquiera una disculpa... de hecho, será muy decepcionante. 🙁🙁

PROPER DISAPPOINTED I think the owners must have sold out which is a shame as Dragon City was superb. First warning.... food arrived in these new shallow plastic dishes rather than the deeper tin foil. - Much less food. Second warning.... Chips were not the usual and famous Chinese chips, they were oven chips.... sad. Third warning.... Their historic and famous spare ribs were huge and fell off the bone, now they are mini ribs. Last warning... The special chow mein was watery, one prawn and just ordinary. What a shame... I now have to find another alternative in the Spennymoor area. Such a shame, but did the owners sell out?

This place is a joke over 2 and a half hours wait food disgusting the whole lot went in bin the only good thing about this place is the polite girl on the phone because the owners are rude never go here again yakkkkkkkk

Tried this takeaway for the first time after seeing positive recommendations on a social media group. No menu to see on their Facebook page and no website so we ordered for basic Chinese meal to be delivered. Ordered on a Sunday at 7.45pm and was told it would be approximately 1hr 30min which we were OK about. Ordered Chicken Chow mein & house special mixed meats with ginger and spring onion, Curry and rice. We give clear instructions that they must use the rear of our house to deliver which is clearly marked and is easier for them. We asked for a menu as we were new customers. They delivered to the wrong area of the house and no menu, when we mentioned both to the driver she said she hadn't been told. The food was hot but that is where the positive ends! All of the food was very over salted and noodles congealed in one big lump. Hardly any chicken pieces in the noodles and it was just to salty. The house special had more meat to it but again to salty. We were unable to eat our meal. We tried to phone the takeaway but couldn't get through so give up! We definitely would not recommend this Chinese takeaway.

Orderd from Wing on , on justeat and won't be ordering again . Bland food.....strange tasting water chestnuts in the prawn dish, powdery tasting curry, then the special chowmein consisted of onions sloppy juice and more onions .WHY DOES JUST EAT allow sub standard takeaway food it's not the first poor takeaway iv had after ordering from justeat therefore will not be ordering again from either Wing on or justeat !!!

RUDE STAFF. Phoned up as my regularly nice meal was dry and not best cooked. I then heard the kitchen shout at the poor lady ‘tell them that’s how it comes if they don’t like it give them a refund, we’re too busy’ after I said I don’t really want my money back just to come and get a replacement. I was actually gobsmacked and just said no problem thanks for your help (not the desk lady’s fault) Needless to say I won’t be using there again.
